HOLY COW.   23 days!   23 DAYS UNTIL THE MARATHON!
I have been a bit worried lately that because most of my training has been done on a treadmill and in the gym that I wouldn't be as prepared for the long outdoor runs. My 13 mile training run was outdoors a few weeks ago, and went well. I mean, it was slow and steady, but I felt good - great actually - I wasn't sore at all the next day. It was a really positive experience.  ... Then I was back on the treadmill.
I have one long run before my taper phase starts.  Tomorrow.  20 miles. 
This week was productive - a bunch of 3 and 4 mile runs and a bit of stretching and weights. The weather has been horrid though. Thursday was a balmy 55 degrees... but rainy.  Boo.   Today I made it out for a really great outdoor run. Just 3 miles, but it was at a great pace and I felt fantastic and am actually looking forward to tomorrow morning. I feel like I have a good plan - I am going to do my 3 mile loop 6 times. It will bring me back by my house 6 times, so I can stash some water and some of those running gels in my mailbox. Yay!  water/gel station every 5k.   :) Then I plan on finishing up with my 2 mile loop. 20 miles - no biggie, right?  slow and steady.  Like i said all along, my goal isn't to win, but I do want to finish A) not last and B) of my own volition. I think those are fair goals for someone who - up until recently - never considered herself a runner. On the contrary, I actively hated running.  
Maybe that’s not so true anymore.  :)
However, that doesn't mean I’m not having any anxiety about the run. I have actually had 2 classic anxiety dreams.  In one, about half way through the race, i stopped for lunch (totally normal, right?) then couldn't get back to the race - I couldn't find my shoes, I couldn't get to the course, all manner of nonsense. It’s pretty hilarious when you think about it. I’m pretty sure that’s because I have been reading everything I can get my hands on about running nutrition. haha. The other one seemed to be more pride driven - in it, i got hit in the face with a running shoe and was embarrassed that people would see me do poorly. yikes. 
Wow.  That sounds pretty awful when I put it out there like that, but they were pretty comical dreams looking back. 
but I digress.  lol.  I think tomorrow is actually going to be pretty great. Today I got a package from the BAA with my bib number and info for the race weekend (I guess it’s a pretty big to-do in Boston with expos, events and a runners pasta dinner). I just need to trust my training and get it done.  :)

6.3 miles 🏃‍♀️ around my “hood”. I love that there are beautiful orange 🍊 groves and farms less than a mile from my house. And it’s sad to see that over the years many of them have been bulldozed and removed to make way for housing developments. So far, this one is still standing strong. It was 80 degrees ☀️ by 8AM this morning and so I opted for the treadmill. 🏃‍♀️ Having never done a run longer than an hour on the treadmill I really thought it would drag on like the meme but with a few episodes of House I made it! 💪👏13.1 miles.
