the first thing you notice about the source of the crash that comes from your room is that he’s huge. 

the second thing is that your jasmine dragon mug lays smashed in front of him.

its a complicated set of emotions: on one hand, theres a man equivalent to a greek god teetering around your room, on the other, the frat idiots that had come over to pregame had destroyed your favorite mug. 

so you ask for a name, apparently he’s too drunk to give it you you so he just gestures to the Louder Than Bombs vinyl thats hanging on the wall, so you get that at least Smith is part of it. 

Then comes the chime of your phone, the pregame crowd has already moved to the party, leaving you and this giant alone in the apartment. So you try to sober him up, leading him to the kitchen to try to get some carbs in him, but he’s snatching up the ramen from your hand before you can even cook it, claiming the stock would make it too spicy.

He’s passed out on couch soon after, and you’re texting your roommate a few choice words for your troubles, resigned to a night of watching tv while you babysit him.

But -- your troubles are soon absolved the following week, because he’s back at your door with a replacement mug and his first name -- Erwin.

the LED’s hurt. denki’s at the dj booth so ofc he’s trying to match the strobe to the bass of the music, but if anything, its a seizure risk, but most people at the party are too drunk to care. so you head to the backyard, meandering by the fire pit to see some light with warmth and soul, sitting near by a boy with two toned hair who couldn’t be more unphased by the commotion going on the house behind him.

he’s giving very direct and choppy answers to your questions, he’s shouto, he’s a new member, his father made him rush to uphold the family legacy, and he does not get how things happen at these parties.

it’s endearing how forward he is, the bluntness making you giggle. and he’s warming up to you too, heat rising in his cheeks from beyond the effects of the fire. and then his stomach cuts the moment short — and he’s asking if you want to join him for soba. but alas, the kitchen is occupied, so the party of two moves back to your dorm — giving him the opportunity to experience a new favorite meal for a change.

as the crowd goes crazy in front of you, you're starting to regret being convinced to come here. the beer is flat, its the kind that none cares about when you're drunk, but you aren't so blessed to be in that state as you chip at it from the corner of the room.

"nice shirt," a voice behind you offers, and you turn around to see that you're talking to an actual tower, a big smile stretching across the face of the man with shaggy hair.

you look down to see what you're wearing again, a borrowed outfit from your roommate you hadn't even bothered to give much thought about -- looking at the denim skirt paired with a shirt for a band called The Garrison before craning up to look back at him.

"Ever listen to their music?"

"Do I have to listen to their music to get a shirt from Urban Outfitters?"

He snorts at that, saying "I didn't think they would be that big to be at that store." And now you're confused, but before you can open your mouth to ask a question he's moving away, the bizarre interaction throwing you off.

The crowd starts moving you outside, and your friends are tugging you into the backyard, shaggy hair and friends standing on the porch with band instruments as a pompous looking blonde introduces them.

"WHO WANTS TO LISTEN TO THE GARRISON?”

and then shaggy hair is taking the mike from him, finding you in the crowd before he says 

“this one goes out to urban outfitters girl, hope you can see if we deserve to be that big now.”

He's helping you sit up on the roof, and the sight takes your breath away, the old buildings of your campus forming a jagged skyline against the twilight, sero grinning as he tells you he was finally able to top the view you got from your own room.

and in that moment, you realize, the other views you want to see in this world would not be complete if he isn't in them.

he compliments you on the blanket, asking if he can stay here a little longer until he's sure the pregame is over and he can slip away back to his room, and you agree, but ultimately, nanami decides to stay, the two of you sipping on a gin and tonic in the kitchen when the pregame crowd moves out.

you visit him in the frat house a week later, a white haired boy with bright blue eyes opening the door with a grin before screaming, oh nanami! your girlfriends here, and nanami is stomping over in annoyance.

however, that annoyance seems to melt away when he sees the blanket you've knit for him in your arms.

he becomes your food recommendation buddy, sending you pictures of the new drinks he tries with a rating on the sugar scale while you send him your favorites -- and then he sends you an invite -- to the party his frat is throwing that's a welcome back party combined with his birthday party -- knowing that at the very least -- the promise of the sugary cake will bring you there, but really, he's hoping for the chance to finally show how sweet he is on you.
