This is Beth Schacter. She runs a little tv show called Billions you might have heard of? 😜 We’re working on something awesome together. I had the best time on set today watching Beth, the cast and crew in action. @russanddaughters may or may not have figured into the scene. You’ll just have to watch Billions Season 7 to find out!

Russ & Daughters is a New York culinary and cultural icon, known for the highest quality appetizing foods: smoked fish, caviar, bagels, bialys, babka, and other traditional baked goods. The home of bagels and lox since 1914, Russ & Daughters has been continuously owned and operated by four generations of the Russ family. The original landmark shop on East Houston Street has been in the same spot for 106 years. Russ & Daughters continues to provide the tastes and traditions of a true New York experience.

This picture gets me right in my DNA.

@nikirussfederman is the granddaughter…of one of the daughters…of @russanddaughters.

She is also a fourth generation owner of the family’s iconic business.

In our soon to launch book, 100 Treasures and The Stories They Tell, we got to work with Niki to explore how it all started and how it’s going—as told through the lens of her grandmother Anne’s coffee mug.

You read that right. And we can’t wait for you to read the book. Because Niki’s chapter is full of generational reverence and wisdom, and also a few heartwarming plot twists.

Pictured here is Niki at Russ & Daughters Cafe, the modern day outpost of the family’s brand, reading her chapter of The Heirloomist’s book while her grandmother floats above— that’s Anne behind the counter in the black and white photograph.

Anne passed away in 2018 but her spirit is very much present in everything Niki does. Grandma’s have a way of sticking around like that. We couldn’t be more proud to share this story with you all very soon!

Food memories of our last visit in NYC before the pandemic.

New York City has so much diversity in food, but we tried as many bagels we could in a short amount of time.

Next stops will be Utopia, Absolute, H&H, Tompkins, Forest Hills and more.

This trip we focused on startup pitching so couldn’t enjoy as much. This trip with be a catch up with friends. Hopefully we can share many good food memories.

First they safely prepared and packaged 100 bagged kosher meals consisting of a bagel & cream cheese, rugelach, and water at their Brooklyn location. Then they dropped off 50 meals to the brave staff on the #frontlines at @regoparkhealthcare in Queens. Big thanks to the Director of Recreation @adnan_rphc making us aware of this Retirement & Assisted Living Facility! Next @russanddaughters traveled to the Ascension Food Pantry in Morningside Heights to drop off the other 50 bagged meals. Here the meals were safely distributed to the pantry’s grateful clientele.
