LEGAL NAME: Rebecca Riley Koening

NICKNAMES: (Technically Riley would count as a nickname in this context, since all of her legal documents say Rebecca, but for everyone's sanity and because she doesn't use that name anymore.. )Ry, Rybread, Semi-decent at her job adorable artifact thief whose out to steal your heart and your stolen relics. (None of which have..actually been used in universe..lets pretend I don't just call her that in my head.) As well as (previously) Becca, Beckie.

DATE OF BIRTH: May 17th

GENDER: Female

PLACE OF BIRTH: Her parent's summer home on Mackinac Island, MI, U.S.A. (They were/are richy rich okay.), grew up in Grand Rapids.

CURRENTLY LIVING: varies, her job doesn't exactly let her stay in one place often. (legally nowhere, has safe homes provided by her boss throughout the Mediterranean Basin, as well as a kind of 'home base' in Cairo - the apartment that belonged to her previous caretaker.)

SPOKEN LANGUAGES: English, German, Arabic, Greek, Spanish (fluently, speaks a few others that are common in the area conversationally.)

EDUCATION: attended a private school until she was nine,currently has an account on an open-source education platform under a fake name for everything higher.

HAIR COLOR: Midtone brown, slightly lightened from the sun.

EYE COLOR: Sectoral Heterochromia - Eyes are primarily green, has a brown 'patch' on the left eye.

HEIGHT: 5'6, give or take a few inches

WEIGHT: can range due to the demands of her job, most would probably say a range of 100-120lbs (She's probably slightly underweight, but given how she lives it really shouldn't be that surprising.)

Why do able-bodied men feel the need to police disabled women’s disabilities?

Context:

I have chronic, episodic bone pain in my left leg. Not sure what exactly it is but it stems from the osgoode schlatter (extra bone) in my knee and an untreated sprain from years ago. Episodic basically means some days I can’t move and others I am totally fine.

Now, I got a cane yesterday. My first mobility aid. I also live in a supposedly “accessible” college campus.

The dining hall on campus just got renovated so instead of a single entrance and exit, theres now one entrance with turnstiles and one exit with turnstiles on separate parts of the caf.

There is only one elevator and its outside the entrance which means disabled people have to take exit via the entrance.

Well today, on a scale of 1-10, was about an 8 on the pain scale. So yes, I had my cane and my limp was more pronounced because of how much I was relying on my cane for support. So I go to lunch in the caf and when I go to leave, this fucking white dude (who’s apparently the manager of our school’s dining hall) PUTS HIS FUCKING HANDS ON ME and tells me to go out the exit. The exit with stairs. The exit with THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS.

I look him dead in the face and said “I’m not an idiot, I know where the exit is, but you WATCHED ME WALK OVER HERE and you’re going to tell me I have to take the stairs?”

Y’all I am fuminggggggggg at his response.

He SCOFFED and asked why I was FAKING a disability. If it wouldn’t have gotten me charged with assault (or had me falling over) I would have taken out his shins. Anyway, shoutout to this one girl who was coming in when she heard that and started yelling at him as I got on the elevator.

Anyway if he does it again I WILL be whacking him in the shins and claiming self defense :D
