Y'know, looking back, they really chose the wrong show to try and port Kamen Rider over to America.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ryuuki, but there was no way it was gonna come through right as an introduction to Kamen Rider over here for multiple reasons. It'd be like trying to port over Decade without airing the first 9 Heisei Riders first.

Decade and Ryuuki excluded, most of the other Rider series would actually survive the Sentai > Power Rangers pipeline pretty decently. They have an organization to fight, and the top enemies can be shown and understood pretty easily. Ryuuki doesn't have that organization. The mirror monsters are a side effect of Kanzaki's creating the mirror world and aren't controlled by anything. All the riders except Ryuuki are motivated by self-interest. The closest to a big bad is Kanzaki, and everything is out of his control. Honestly, it was part of what set Ryuuki out to be interesting, wondering where things go, but a mold breaker doesn't work without a mold to break.

Also, there is motive for Ryuuki. In Japan, Ryuuki's motive was wishy-washy most of the time, cuz a normal person was thrown into a battle he honestly had no part in. In America, they threw him into a fight looking for his father. On the one side, you have a guy who's never fought before in a fight he doesn't belong in who has to come to terms with the fact that he's in a death fight, on the other side you have a guy looking for his father having mercenaries sent after him. The emotional balance just ain't the same.

What I'm basically saying is they would have been better off trying to start ports with Kabuto or 555, try and ease things in before, again, trying to break the mold.

Aaaaanother TGAA SwapAU stuff and it is my wonderful boy Albert as the prosecutor!!

I've changed some of the designs in this one like the jacket color to white to make a resemblance of a lab coat and reflecting of Kazuma white school uniform, as well trying to bring more Frankenstein's Monster vibe too hehe (aaand make him look more miserable too). He is also have a locket that have a painting of him and his two brothers, it was given by Andrew during his wedding!

I also made bunch of character that related to Swap!Albert's life from 10 years ago, like Andrew(Klint's roleswap) and his other brother Michael, university Barok and Albert, etc. more info about the are there down below 👇👇

First of I wanted to say I'm sorry I can't do full render of everyone here, do that with all of them would be death sentence for me so I couldn't do it 😭😭 Anyway without further ado, I'm going right into it! Start from left to right!

This first one Ryunosuke father replacing as Genshin Asogi. At first while brainstorming I was thinking of maybe do three switch around with Genshin, Jigoku, and Yujin but the it somehow felt weird for me. Then the thought of maybe involving Auchi in this too (like, imagine him being swap with Jigoku wouldn't that be funny and terrifying thought), but discarded that idea out because of Menimemo would have no one to swap with (i have to i'm sorry). Sooo I ended just design him from scratch, he is quite easy to figure out since Genshin doesn't really have much going on with him, but since we don't have any idea of original Ryunosuke's parents at all I have to take idea from something else, and that is his daruma doll for his eyes (he is half blind!! :D) and Phoenix DD/SOJ design (droopy hair and light vest) and everything else is from Genshin. His name is Ryuuki Naruhodo since Ryunosuke is another name for Ryuichi so I want to keep the train going!!

Andrew the screwdriver, oh I missed him- Anyway, I redesign his outfit because tbh his previous outfit is ridiculous 😭 it's funny and fun but I do want to take him seriously now. I'm tried to keep the A shape still but it's less subtle now, I think it turned out okay!! (Oh yeah, his cane is supposed to be a hidden sword but i forgot to put that in the drawing 😭). I was supposed to make his bowtie red like the hair tie but then I realized it will getting rid of the purpose of the hair tie (it referencing the blood on the tip of the screwdriver) so I ended up making it color silver.

The Lady Baskerville, I gave her similar design to Sunny(Herlock!Swap) with the bowtie, color palette to his mascot, and hair on her. I'm not really quite fond with her design, maybe I'll do redesign her again if I got a idea pop up like crazy but in the meantime this is her design.

Guess who is this?? Another one of Albert's tool is here finally!! Michael the crosshead screwdriver! Since we never see Michael anywhere and only mentioned once in the game he is, I'm just draw simple design for him (I wished I could put M shape in the design but I have no idea WHERE to put it 😭 so I tried used the bowtie for it). I also thought it would be nice to make him a defense attorney so I made the design for the badge too. Since he is sadly not going to be mentioned a lot in this AU since I'm trying to make the storyline same as the original, so I made a backstory of what happened in the fun fact tags. There was supposed to be more tool to be added but my god that would be taxing to design, so I have to make only Andrew and Michael as his only siblings.

The doggie Balmung replacement, Bolt, He is a Irish Setter! Beforehand he was supposed to be Borzoi but then research the background of the breed I don't how difficult it is to actually get one in that era so I have to changed breed :((

Albert and Barok in university days!! I just keep same as before like previous design!! There's a tiny change like the hair and the neckties.

I was gonna wait until I designed his Persona but I'm impatient and and want you all to meet my new special little guy, Ryuuki! His Arcana is the Tamed Lion, an alternate version of the Strength Arcana.

In December 2005, Ryuuki's parents mysteriously vanished without a trace from their house one night, leaving 12 year old Ryuuki alone. The boy was bounced around for a bit before ending up with his aunt and uncle, a couple that already had too many children, in mid 2006. Ryuuki jumped at the opportunity to leave that house when presented with the opportunity to stay in the SEES dorm, and awakened his Persona not long after.

A popular first year student at Gekkoukan High and member of both SEES and the Kendo team. He joined in early 2007, after being attacked by a Shadow and saved by Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Shinjiro. His Initial Persona is Telemachus, which specializes in Nuclear, Pierce, and Debuff Skills. Telemachus evolves into Apollo.

Ryuuki is bright, cheerful, and always helpful, to the point where it sometimes annoys his classmates and teammates, notably Junpei, who gets notably frustrated whenever Ryuuki gives him pointers. He despises not being around people and gets antsy when alone for too long. For this reason, he shares a room with Shinjiro, or used to, at the very least.

Much like Akihiko, he has his own fan club. It really bothers him and he largely ignores them.

Grades average at 80%, even with frequent studying. Gets really frustrated with himself over that; He's the only person in the dorm who Mitsuru doesn't try to push perfection on.

Struggles with self-worth issues and has no clue what he wants to do with himself in the future.

Constantly needs reassurance that he belongs where he is. Praise is like a drug to him.

Forgets to feed himself sometimes and will end up raiding the fridge in the middle of the night; Shinjiro used to freeze extra leftovers and left them for him.

Despite the obvious mental health issues, his "ray of sunshine" behavior is genuine.

I asked the YGO Organization person whether Divinez was inspired by Fate and she said. "Not impossible, but I think they're running on a general 'tournament that grants your wish' gimmick of which I'm not sure which is the first, but there's probably a 'genetic ancestor'." So I guess this means that Fate wasn't the first 'wish granting tournament' thingy.

Anyway since you're a fate expert do you know what Fate's 'wish granting tournament' thing was inspired by? Also If you know what the first wish granting tournament was that would also be cool too.

All I know for sure is that Kamen Rider Ryuuki did the killing game over wish-granting 2 years before Fate/stay night did. That said, Fate/stay night is a reconstruction of the prototype Fate Skipper, which Nasu wrote circa 1990, so there could be something older.

That said, the killing game genre itself is credited to the Battle Royale novel released in 1999, so it wouldn't be strange if the 2002 Kamen Rider was the have a wish as the winner's reward.

Which CupiPara route next?

Since I finished Ryuki's route the other day, I'm debating which LI I should go for next; Raul or Shelby? I kinda wanna get Shelby out of the way, but his character isn't rlly my type so idk if I'll be able to engage much... I've heard good things so far on Raul's route though, so I am curious about how his story goes. I've been following a recommended order so far, bc Gill's was recommended as a first route, then either Shelby or Ryuki (which ofc I went for Ryuki, so I admit I have kinda been putting of his route so far)
