Den Bosch, North Brabant. The most gorgeous city of North Brabant. The only city here which I genuinely enjoy. Seriously.

To begin with the buildings catch up such cities as Leiden, Alkmaar and Delft. Definitely catch up. Of course, with NB colorite, but it makes it not not even a bit worse!

The river surrounding the city is all nice and cute :3

Brabantstaad. Very normie-like, nothing special, go to Breda one to have bolder experience.

Central square is quite cute. Eindhoven has it worse.

However, the famous "church" is just ok. I expected more. 1.

3. Alphons Diepenbrock (1862-1921)

Born in Amsterdam to a prosperous family, as a boy he had some violin lessons, but was largely self taught. He learned the piano by playing piano reductions of Wagner's music. In 1880 he went to study classics at the University of Amsterdam, receiving his Doctorate in 1888, with a dissertation, in Latin, on Seneca. That same year in s'Hertogenbosch, he got a teaching job but the composition bug was getting the better of him, so in 1895 he returned to Amsterdam (where he lived for the rest of his life), working as a private teacher of classics and composition. 

Many of his works were unpublished in his lifetime, although the conductor Willem Mengelberg and others advised him to conduct his own music. He also conducted other composers works including, in 1908, Mahler's fourth symphony. He loved music and literature and the poetry of his day, and with his academic background in the classics, was inspired by Greek and Latin writings. His musical influences included Wagner and Debussy.

Exercise 7 My Internship

My past internship was a lot of fun. I did an internship at the jeroen bosch hospital in s'Hertogenbosch and I am very happy here. I came out well with my planning and the exercises went smoothly. I have not finished my internship yet, I have a few weeks to go but everything is going well and I have very good guidance. I teach conversations with patients and learn a lot in the field of communication and acting on a specific situation. What I still find difficult in this internship is taking responsibility because this is a very important thing within the hospital. I advise everyone to do this internship and also recommend that you have to stand up for yourself and show initiative. then you will complete the internship sufficiently because these points are very important in the hospital.

Took Neva 1.5 with me to the International Dolls, Bears & Miniatures fair in s'Hertogenbosch (Netherlands). There weren't many resin Ball Jointed Dolls there (in fact there was only one stand dedicated in full to BJDs, my friend Willeke from AngelsDesigns), but there were some jointed OOAK sculpts and lots and lots of awesome craft stuff. And glory glory hallelujah, I finally found new dremel bits! My favourite old shapes were really worn down and for some reason regular DIY stores don't carry them (they generally only have some for drilling/carving and polishing, and very little for sanding). I was in desperate need for some new ones for modding work... And I don't like buying tools online, it's very difficult to tell the quality from a picture. So, yay for hobby fairs! Also got the teensiest, weensiest pump-action drill and some nice fabrics + haberdashery. And it was quite fun to see all the surprise & interest from people used to more classical dolls & plushies in regards to Neva. One elder lady & her husband even went on a whole story about how they loved to see these modern dolls on more old-fashioned fairs: "Brings some new faces in, you know? Keeps it alive!" I couldn't agree more. Fairs like these are contagious- I really want a 1:16 scale cabinet full of tiny trinkets now. Just for prettiness' sake.

Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass wir nach s’Hertogenbosch kommen. Wir mögen diese gemütliche und lebhafte Stadt in Nordbrabant.

Da wir etwas Zeit haben, profitieren wir etwas ausführlicher von der Stadt. s’Hertogenbosch bietet für fast jeden Geschmack etwas: Einkauf, Kultur (jung und alt), Restaurants, Ambiente,…

Dieses Mal nehmen wir uns die Zeit, um das Hironymus Bosch Art Center, das Nordbrabant Museum und das Design Museum zu besuchen.

     Auch wenn wir mit dem Boot in Heusden einen Halt geplant haben, fahren wir mit dem Bus 135 dort hin. Die Fahrt dauert knapp 25 Minuten.

  Weniger lohnt ein Abstecher in die am Waal gelegene Stadt Zaltbommel, die man mit dem Zug  in ein paar Minuten erreicht. Vom Bahnhof bis zur Stadt sind es dann noch 10-15 Minuten zufuss.  Wir fahren Montagmorgens dorthin und vergessen ganz, dass die Geschäfte erst um 13h öffnen… und die historischen Gebäude geschlossen sind. So bleibt nur ein Spaziergang um die alte Festung mit Blick auf den Stadthafen am Waal.

    2019 #4 s’Hertogenbosch und Umgebung Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass wir nach s'Hertogenbosch kommen. Wir mögen diese gemütliche und lebhafte Stadt in Nordbrabant.

Missouri verkent Brabant

Vandaag ontving ik ondernemers en vertegenwoordigers van de overheid uit St. Louis, een stad in de Amerikaanse staat Missouri. De Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) liet hen twee dagen kennismaken met de voedselproductie en agrarische sector van Brabant. Ik sprak daarna met de delegatie over hun bezoek en onze samenwerking.

Missouri en Brabant onderzoeken sinds een jaar de mogelijkheden voor het stimuleren van wederzijdse handel, investeringen en innovatiesamenwerking. Ik bezocht in oktober met vertegenwoordigers van de BOM voor het eerst de stad St. Louis. Die stad wordt van oudsher gekenmerkt door agrarische productie en een grote maakindustrie. Tijdens het bezoek zagen we hoe bedrijven, van multinationals tot startups, samen met kennisinstellingen nu kennis uit die sectoren combineren voor vernieuwing en verbetering van de voedselproductie. Bedrijven in Missouri lopen op dat gebied voorop, bijvoorbeeld met het ontwikkelen van nieuwe gewassen, diervoeders en technologie voor landbouw en veeteelt. Brabant en Missouri herkennen bij elkaar zowel de werkwijze in clusters als de thema’s waaraan wordt gewerkt. We concluderen op basis daarvan dat we veel baat kunnen hebben bij samenwerking.

Kennis en kwaliteit

Het tegenbezoek van Missouri aan Brabant is een volgende stap in het ontwikkelen van een samenwerkingsrelatie. De delegatie, met onder andere de ontwikkelingsmaatschappij in St. Louis, eindigde haar bezoek in het provinciehuis. De deelnemers vertelden over hun bezoeken aan de HAS Hogeschool, de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven en aan verschillende bedrijven. Ze hebben een goede indruk gekregen van hetgeen Brabant te bieden heeft en hebben waardevolle contacten opgedaan door gesprekken bij onder andere Protix in Dongen en PlantLab in s'Hertogenbosch. Het ziet er naar uit dat verschillende nieuwe contacten vervolg gaan krijgen. Missouri is daarmee een waardevolle aanvulling aan het netwerk van Brabant. Ik hoop dat we in de toekomst ook in andere sectoren gaan verkennen of we kunnen samenwerken.

My internship (exercise 2)

I am very lucky with my internship, I am going to do an internship in the Jeroen Bosch hospital in s'Hertogenbosch at an operation department. I am going to learn a lot of things there and I can work out my assignments well here. I will meet many different patients in the department. the first few weeks in the department are super good and I have learned a lot in this internship period. however, it is very far away for me. I go first with the scooter and then a long time with the train but I am certainly do it. I think my fellow students would also like this internship so that they know or the hospital is something for them and or they want to choose this in the third year as a sector.
