3. Dumatal – it means reach, arrive, happen, come. (dumating)

Mahabang panahon din ang lumipas bago ako bahagyang sipagin sa muling pagsusulat dito. Oo, bahagya lang dahil maski magpahanggang ngayon ay nalalasing pa ako sa katamaran. Minsan kasi, pasulat na, tsaka naman dahan-dahang naglalaho ang mga salitang gusto kong malikha. Badtrip ‘di ba par? 

Siguro, masasabi kong pang-uudyok muli para maligaw sa “talaarawan” ko ay ang masidhing damdamin na hindi ko na kayang sarilinin pa. Literal na nakauumay, nakasusuya, nakasusuka, at lalong nakawawalang gana na kasi ang buong perspektiba ko sa tatahaking hinaharap. 

Maraming tagpo na yung sumunog sa mga nais kong makamit. Nahihirapan na akong manampalataya sa tila hungkag na lakad. Nananaig yung kagustuhan kong magpahinga na lamang. At... at... taena. Sa susunod na lang ulit.

Student’s Diary

Nagsimula na ako magsulat ng talaarawan bilang parte ng aking pagbabagong buhay.

Isa akong guro at naging propesor ng Kasaysayan at Araling Panlipunan sa isang sikat na Unibersidad. Tanging magagaling lamang ang nakakapasok dito o kung hindi ka magaling, siguraduhing mayaman ka.

Nag-asawa ako agad noong maging Associate Professor ako noong nagtrenta na ako. Ang asawa ko na si Pia na nakarelasyon ko ng tatlong taon bago ko siya mabuntis. Ipinanganak din ang una naming anak, si Garett. Nasundan pa ito ng isang babae noong trenta’y kwatro na ako.

Ngayon ay trenta’y sais na.

Mangyari na sa isang classroom ay nakapulot ako ng diary.

Una kong nakilala si Veronica noong 2013. Hindi ako nagkakagusto sa mga estudyante ko sa kolehiyo kahit nasa legal na edad na sila dahil bobo ang karamihan sa kanila o panget. Minsan-minsan lang ang maganda, matalino at interesante.

Pero nasapul lahat ni Veronica Kor ‘yun. Iyon ang napansin ko at nagustuhan ko siya pero ubod ng sungit. Ilang beses ko din naririnig na ayaw sa kanya ng ibang guro dahil lagi itong sinusubukan ang mga ibang propesor. Kaya kapag pumapasok sila sa klase neto ay nagsisipaghanda sila. Petiburgis ito.

Morena, matangkad, maliit ang mukha at maganda ang mga mata. At ang labi ay parang natutukso akong halikan. Matalim din ang mga pisngi. Lagi pa siyang nagsusuot ng maiikli tulad ng skirt, short dresses at shorts. Minsan ay nasilipan ko siya sa may hagdan noong pataas siya. Nakita ko ang itim na panty niya. Minsan nakikita ko ang dibdib at nakakaramdam ako ng pagkatigas sa bahagi ng katawan ko. Bagay na hindi ko mapigilan. Buntis noon ang asawa ko at maselan kaya wala akong mapaglabasan ng libog. Kaya bumibili ako ng serbisyo sa prupesyunal. Hindi naman siguro mabibilang na pakikiapid’yun. Unang beses ko iyong ginawa.

Si Veronica ang nasa isip ko. Paano ko kaya siya makukuha?

Pero noong may hinalikan siyang babae sa harap ko at sinabi niyang nobya niya, nanghina ako. Nanlambot din. Hindi ako makapaniwala na tomboy pala ang isa sa pinakamagandang estudyante sa unibersidad. Isa nga pala siyang presidente ng Finance Society nila.

Tsaka ang suplada talaga niya.

Nakalimutan ko din siya at tuloy-tuloy ang buhay hanggang sa makapulot nga ako ng Journal.

Filipino sa Piling Larang Akademik

Kapag narinig mo ang salitang “pagsulat” ito’y isang bagay na akala natin madali lamang, ngunit, iyon ang kamalian natin. Ang pagsulat ay isang malawak na aralin at may mas malalim pa na dahilan kung bakit mahalaga itong matutuhan. Ito’y hindi madali at kailangan ng pagsasanay bago maisagawa. Sa kabilang banda naman ay isang biyaya kung ikaw ay may kagalingan dito. Ang pagsulat ay isinasagawa upang maipahayag ang ating mga damdamin o imahinasyon. Hindi mo kailangang maging propesyonal na isang manunulat upang makapagsulat. Ang pagsulat ay para sa lahat. Minsan hindi mo namamalayan na ang simpleng paglabas mo ng saloobin sa iyong talaarawan ay isang uri na ng pagsulat, sa paraan na iyon ay isa ka na rin na manunulat. Hello ulit, di ako galing sa pagsusulat ang mga diaries kasi madalas kong kalimutan (baka may ADHD ako). Matagal na rin simula nang huling mag-practice ako ng Tagalog. May marami akong iniisip. Ayaw ko ang trabaho ko pero natatakot ako mag-apply sa iba. Gusto ko mag-follow ang mga pangarap ko pero yata ko walang skills para sa bagong digital world ng social media at AI. Gusto kong maging digital artist pero wala akong motivation ngayon.

Maraming gawin nangyari tapos ang huling entry ko. Ako'y ang candidate sa Miss Philippines UK na, mula noong July, kaya ito ay Week 7 na kami. Hindi pa ako sobrang confident kasi mahirap talaga ang mga dance routine, pero ako ay mas confident kaysa bago ako magsimula. Alam ko na paano maglalakad naka-heels ko (almost).

Nanood ako ang unang episode sa Drag Race PH S2, di pa ko alam sino ang paborito ko. Gusto ko si Tiny kahit sa bottom 2 siya. Ewan ko bakit 6 contestants nalang sa unang episode? Baka naroon ang 2 groups parang season 13 sa USA? Alam ko naroon ang queen taga-CDO, si Hana Beshie. Excited ako para sa kanyang arrival sa susunod na episode.

ang tagal ko nanaman bago nakapag sulat. Ang dami kasing nangyari these past few days.

Pero alam minsan nag hahanap ako ng taong makakagets sa philosophy ko. And i found out two. Yung isa si Lucy na parang little me. And yung isa naman kapitbahay namin, si Ericka, tawagin nalang nating Esther.

Matagal ko na syang nakita at nakilala pero recently lang sya nag glow sa paningin ko. Dahil yun sa pagiging sobrang obedient nyang bata. Complete sya mag devotion at pinangangatawan nya talaga pagiging president nya sa school. Top 1 rin sya as in matalino syang bata. Tapos recently napapansin ko sarili kong masyado akong nag papakitang tao infront of her.

She's just 17 years old. Para ko syang little sister. Nalaman ko nga rin kung sino crush nya e. And syempre na badtrip ako kasi si Joseph rin crush nya. Nakakatawa kasi I know kung gaano ka isip bata si joseph. Pero crush nila yan e, wala kong magagawa ahahahha.

Pero I think I need to learn something from Joseph. i mean not just the skills. but also the strategy of getting the attention of every girl. Kasi kahit NASA taas lang sya, nakikita sya e. attractive sya for them. Napagkamalan pa nga nyang may gsto ko sa kanya sa sobrang taas ng tingin nya sa sarili nya e.

Despite the fluency in our language, there are Filipinos who are struggling in some Tagalog words. These words are unusually used in every day lives which resulted to some misconceptions.

Now, let me show some unknown and uncommonly used Filipino words! Here are 6 words that you might not know:

UNCOMMONLY USED FILIPINO WORDS

SIPNAYAN ( MATHEMATICS)

DEFINITION: The abstract science of numbers, quantity, and space.

EXAMPLE: Napakahirap naman ng sasagutan sa asignaturang sipnayan.

TALAARAWAN (CALENDAR)

DEFINITION: A chart or series of pages showing the days, weeks, and months of a particular year, or giving particular information.

EXAMPLE: Tingnan mo nga sa talaarawan kung anong araw magbubukas ang bagong pamilihan.

DURUNGAWAN (WINDOW)

DEFINITION: An opening in the wall or roof of a building or vehicle that is fitted with glass or other transparent material frame to admit light or air and allow people to see out.

EXAMPLE: Silipin mo nga sa durungawan kung gising na ang mga bisita.

PARALUMAN (COMPASS)

DEFINITION: An instrument containing a magnetized pointer which shows the direction of magnetic North and bearing from it.

EXAMPLE: Gamitin mo nga ang paraluman upang sa papunta natin sa bundok ay hinde tayo maligaw.

PANG ULONG HATINIG (HEADSET)

DEFINITION: A set of headphones. It is used especially in telephone and radio communication.

EXAMPLE: Ang pang-ulong hatinig ni Liberty ay hiniram ko sapagkat naiwan ko ang akin sa silid aralan.

PULOT GATA (HONEYMOON)

DEFINITION: A vacation spent together by a newly married couple.

EXAMPLE: Saan kaya ang pulot gata ng bagong kasal?

Those are the 6 uncommonly used Filipino words that I want to share to all! I hope that you learn from my examples. I hope someday that you can share these words to your friends, family and loveones. Always remember that even if we have many languages in the Philippines, we are still one nation.
