The first of many requests from discord, this is a Saddlesore Swanson gifset. I tried to fit all of his appearances in (America Sings, DL Splash, WDW Splash). Also, it fits perfectly for Thanksgiving (had I posted it on time like I intended, but alas. Life has another plans). Be sure to check out the sources, a lot of them are from great videos. Enjoy!

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a behind the scenes picture of Splash Mountain from a past refurbishment!

Look at those nekkid boys!

This takes place during the Laughin’ Place scene! You can see one of the geese from the geese quartet up front, a chicken who I’m not too sure where he came from in the middle, and Saddlesore Swanson in the back!

I found proof about anon statement, i will just copy and paste.

According to an interview with Alice Davis, Chill Wills, who did the voice of Saddlesore Swanson, stated that he would not go inside the theater, because he believed he would be strangely killed, which led him to leave the cast before the attraction opened in 1974. Ironically, this incident would occur that same year when a cast member named Deborah Gail Stone was crushed to death after she accidentally stepped in between a revolving wall and stationary platform inside the attraction.

Here are some storyboards for the Disneyland version of Splash Mountain. Differences from the ride include the staging of the “Brer Rabbit giggles as Brer Bear shakes his butt at the riders” scene being different and the appearances of three extra characters in the Laughin’ Place. You can see the Waiter Pig from America Sings with Saddlesore Swanson, and there’s also a horse that I’m guessing is supposed to be a now-male version of the Old Grey Mare and an furry orange... dog, I think? Dunno which America Sings character that’s supposed to be...
