Alternate Costume Ideas

Someone asked me to post the list of Smash Ultimate costume ideas I have saved on my computer, so here they are. Although I’d like to make almost all of them, they take around a week to make, (give or take depending on how complicated they are and how much free time I have) so I only intend to make a small handful, so let me know which ones you’d be most interested in. If I missed any good ones, let me know. Some characters I am not super familiar with. Before you ask though, I think Banjo Kazooie would be easier to make from scratch than trying to rework Duck Hunt to make them. (Bird riding mammal sounds similar on paper, but the similarities really kind of end there.) Anyways here’s the list I’ve made. Some of them aren’t great ideas; I included everything I could think of:

Dubai

Dubai was the perfect mix of relax and sightseeing for us to start our honeymoon. I was pretty disappointed though to find that the pool was closed for annual maintenance when we got there. Pretty funny that the annual maintenance dates perfectly coincided with the dates of Ramadan (I wish they would just say you can't have the infidels flaunting their flesh rather than make up the maintenance excuse as it is pretty valid request during their holy month). The first day we went to The Mall of the Emirates which is a ridiculously huge shopping centre. I enjoyed perusing the Gucci, Dolce & Gabbane etc. But Joel was not impressed by what high fashion actually entails (lots of rhinestones this season it seems). That night we went to The Walk @ JBR and after a super long beach walk and trying to navigate back to the boardwalk through the lobbies of hotels, we had our first Iftar set menu and it was amazing. Iftar is the evening meal to break the fast during Ramadan and it was huge! We had cold appetizers, hot mains, dessert and drinks. My favourite was the apricot tea and the chicken livers. The following day we had a chill day by the pool of the Grand Millenium - a fancy hotel across the road that still allowed pool use. I think because it was tucked away and very private on the 20th floor rather than ours at The Atana. We were kept entertained by a couple who were more interested in taking pictures of themselves showing they were in Dubai that actually being in Dubai. When we arrived the guy was having the lifeguard take pics, then he has his gf (who face was more plastic than face) take the pics and then awkwardly they climbed into the small spa with us and had us take the pics. They were also staying at The Atana but whenever we saw them they were either posing in the gym or on their phones instead of talking to each other at breakfast. That afternoon we had a desert safari experience thanks to H and Riggs. The driver was an hour late picking us up and we were shoved into the very back of the landy but we were pumped. My excitement wore off pretty quickly though when our first stop was a convenience store an hour out of Dubai with the aim of selling us head scarfs. After the 15 minute stop it was into the car for dune bashing. This was the highlight of the trip but I was so glad I popped a Stemetil before we started. After 30 mins of surfing the dunes I was a little green and was worried the Nanna in front of us was going to have a heart attack. She was not impressed! Our arrival at the Skyland Camp in the desert was met with a resounding wa wa waaaah. There was a man with 2 sad camels that would lead the silly whiteys on a 5 metre walk. Joel got tricked into paying for photos with a falcon (the national bird of the UAE) and everything was an extra cost. The dinner was good though we feared food poisoning from the look of the place. We tried really hard to be as enthusiastic as the girls behind us who kept saying they were in an Arabian dream but it was more like a poor gypsy nightmare. The nightly entertainment started which was good. The first guy was like a neon whirling dirvish who used his skirts as revolving hoola hoops. Unfortunately due to Ramadan there was no belly dancing which I had been really looking forward to seeing and trying with all my extra jelly these days. The fire twirler was amazing but we were slightly concerned that he would throw a flaming something at Joel as he had laughed at him at the bar. Literally as soon as the twirler finished they came on the PA and said the night is over and your driver is waiting. Quickest kick out and exit ever. Joel was worried the whole time that we would have to pay to be taken home. So in the end not the magical desert adventure we thought it would be, but still a wonderful memory. On Monday we paid for a hop on - hop off bus tour. The first trip was the red line and was a 3 hour round trip of Old dubai. The information given bordered on commy propaganda about the sheik and the royal family and by the end of the tour Joel and I were besting each other on tales of the sheiks achievements. The second tour was the blue line which took us along the coast through Jumeirah - was perfect timing with the sun setting. We hopped off at The Dubai Mall for some refreshments and to see the Dubai Fountain. Wasn't quite as great as the fountains in Vegas but pretty cool. The last tour was the Midnight Blue line to see the City of Lights. It took us past the Dubai Marina and the Jumeirah Palm and we hopped off at a Souk. We tiredly ambled around the souk and were super stoked to find a beer cafe (the first venue serving alcohol that we saw). I'm not usually one for drinking beer but after being on tour for 10.5 hours it was gone in a flash. The next morning we packed up ready for our now rerouted flight to Athens. Due to the Qatar issue we were going to Doha via Oman. All I'm going to say is judging from the airport, Oman is a shithole. What a waste of 3.5 hours of our life and also the plane departed late and our pilot took an even more circuoutous route than required causing us to land in Doha with 20 minutes until our flight left. We had already been moved to the front of the plane for a quick exit and absolutely bolted from the gate but we were met by a representative who informed us we only had 3 minutes to make the gate and was thus impossible. He offered 2 solutions. First we could go to Athens that night via BEIRUT! Or we could stay the night and fly in the morning. I didn't think Mum would forgive me if we went via Beirut so we had an unexpected overnighter in Doha. The hotel they put us up in was super fancy and they told us our luggage would be delivered a couple of hours later. We had another Iftar set menu - this one fancy as fuck and I can quite honestly say that the chicken they served was the best chicken I've eaten in my life! We tried to go to bed at a reasonable hour as we had to be up again at 430am for our new flight. Qatar airlines and the hotel had other ideas though. Our bags had not been delivered and they decided to ring us every 30-45 minutes until 1am to tell us so! I thought Joel was going to smash the phone at one point as they kept ringing even after we told them at 11pm that we knew the bags weren't coming and it was ok and we just wanted to sleep. The airport at Doha is a funny one - very strict border control so i was glad to finally be saying adios to the Middle East and hello to Greece. Bye for now and will write again about Athens soon xx

Holiday Inn Select - Within walking distance to the downtown shops.

Frenchtown is an undiscovered secret that is attracting visitors with its many three story multi-colored Victorian homes, art galleries, antique shops, clothing boutiques, and restaurants, all surrounded by rural scenic rolling hills, a river and historic sites.

Things to Do If you chose to make Frenchtown your overnight base for exploring Hunterdon County, rent a bike at Freeman's bike shop and ride south along the D & R Canal towpath, stopping in at Stockton, then continue on to Lambertville. Return to Frenchtown by way of Route 29.

Things to do If you chose to make Lambertville your overnight base for exploring Hunterdon County, and you have your own bike, head North to Frenchtown on Route 29, and return south along the D & R Canal towpath, stopping in at Stockton.

Sergeantsville is a small village that resembles Pennsylvania's Amish Country with its rolling hills, open farmland, and the State's last pre-20th century covered bridge, and an old fashioned general store.

Northern Skylands Here you can experience New England scenic beauty without leaving New Jersey. The Northern Skylands Region is rich with mountainous terrain, riverfront towns, state parks, farmlands, wildlife, bed and breakfasts, and plenty of recreational opportunities. This is an area that has some of New Jersey's best cycling, fishing, tubing, canoeing, and camping.

The Upper Highlands Region of the Skylands, from the east at Ringwood State Park, west to Vernon Valley, and south to the glacial lakes remnants of the former Morris canal, and North to the New York State border, it attracts more annual visitors than Yellowstone National Park. It is a beautiful scenic panorama of forests, sheer cliffs, and a scattering of open areas of lakes and streams. This area is popular for down hill skiing, snowboarding, camping, trout fishing, hiking, and golf.

The Ridge and Valley region of the Skylands covers the extreme Northwest corner of the State and the Kittatinny Mountains. The region is very popular with outdoor enthusiasts. It has the highest point in New Jersey at 1,803 feet and attracts active visitors seeking camping, hiking, skydiving, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and fly fishing.

Things to do High Point State Park The view from High Point Monument, at 1,803 feet above sea level, is a spectacular panorama covering three states of rolling farmlands, mountains, forests, rivers and streams. The park also contains an 18 mile section of the Appalachian Trail. It's an all season park for attracting visitors for mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, swimming, fishing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding, and snowshoeing.

Stokes State Forest is 15,996 acres of scenic mountain views and a beautiful section of the Appalachian Trail. The rugged terrain makes the forest a popular area for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, horse back riding, swimming, and camping.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area borders over 40 miles of the Delaware River and almost 70,000 acres expanse of scenic beauty, breath taking cliffs, and a 1,400 foot deep, 900 foot wide gap that separates New Jersey's 1,528 foot Mt. Tammany and Pennsylvania's 1,462 foot Mt. Minsky. It's a popular place for back packing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, cross country skiing, picnicking, horseback riding, and fishing. For the less active, take a one-day auto tour of the park and experience waterfalls, rural scenery, and historic Millbrook Village.

Skylands Manor and New Jersey Botanical Garden at Ringwood. Spend a couple of hours wandering through the 96 acre gardens with over 400 varieties of lilac. Take a stroll though the woodland paths of magnolia walk, and crab apple vista, with a visit to the elegant Tudor-style manor house.

Franklin Mineral Museum at The Franklin mine is a zinc mine known for its unique display of mineral fluorescence, (glowing rocks) and variety of rare species. They have thousands of mineral specimens on display with a huge fluorescent presentation of brilliant and glowing colorful minerals.

Places to Stay The Inn at Panther Valley - Is a beautiful large full service Inn, ideal for some one looking for a weekend getaway inn with plenty of amenities. Located 20 minutes from the Delaware Water Gap, in the heart of the Northwest NJ Skylands, it has a modern fitness center, shops, restaurants, and nightly entertainment. They also support corporate retreats and weddings.

Alpine Haus Bed and Breakfast Inn - Located next to Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, this 19th Century Victorian Inn has eight well-appointed, cozy rooms all with private baths. There are two Carriage House suites with fireplace and Jacuzzi

Crystal Springs Resort - The new Minerals Hotel features 175 rooms from luxury to the Presidential suite, all with attractive mountain, pool or golf course views. Many of the rooms have cozy fireplaces. It also offers the regions best fine dining restaurant.
