hi, i love your blog! i was thinking about a poll idea pertaining to the one piece live action that might be fun for you to do! it would be a fancast where people submit and vote on actors they think should play characters that haven’t appeared in the show yet (i.e., bartolomeo, doflamingo, hancock, etc…).

Okay, so this ask has been sitting in my askbox for a while (thanks for sending it!) So it would keep reminding me of it while I thought about the best way to do this. I'm not sure if this really works well in a classic tournament way though, but maybe in a way like you can submit them and we'll vote 'yay' or 'nay' (or 'maybe'?).

Unless a character gets submissions for different actors, then I could pit them against each other. We shall see!

Must be for canon manga One Piece characters that have not made an appearance in the first season yet. (cover stories are canon too)

Characters who are theorized to have been seen (like Crocodile), but not confirmed, count as 'not appeared' too.

Smoker counts too, as I couldn't find a name for his actor yet and we haven't seen his face (if he has been cast and the actor is known, please let me know. For now it could be anyone).

Submissions HAVE TO include a (link to a) picture of the actor in question, as I don't know many actors and don't want to use a wrong picture.

'Actor' doesn't have to have acting jobs on their name already, but you must be convinced they are able to act out the character convincingly, so acting jobs help.

Actors must be speaking English well enough for the job (accents are fine, they don't have to be native speakers).

Every submission will get in, so no need to submit the same twice. But please, keep it to serious submissions only. If I think something is a joke submission, I'll keep the right to not make a poll about it.

If you seriously consider trying out for a certain role, you may submit yourself, given that you are comfortable with your name and picture being on this blog. (but don't cry if people vote against you)

Please keep the submissions and propaganda free of manga-only spoilers!

I'll keep submissions open at least until the Shipping War is over, maybe longer, depending on how many submissions I get.

I don’t mean to sound rude, but I don’t think making a rule that the actor has to speak fluent English is totally fair. There’s plenty of actors that have learned a language for their role. For example, Robert De Niro literally moved to Sicily for three months to study and learn Italian for his role in The Godfather II. And Wagner Moura (a Brazilian actor) got cast to play Pablo Escobar (a Columbian) in Narcos, and he didn’t know any Spanish! So he took Spanish classes and did great (even though he did have a Brazilian accent the whole time lol, but the pronunciation was mostly great!).

My point is that I want to submit an actor who doesn’t speak English and I’m salty 😭

I honestly haven't watched either, but I didn't know these actors did that. Were the whole roles spanish/italian spoken though?

Idk, like I said, I'm pretty loose with the rules. If you can convince me they would be able to learn english well enough/fast enough and would do it for the role, go ahead and submit them.
