Today we celebrate the memory of the great and holy Bishop Spyridon of Tremethus, the Wonderworker. Saint Spyridon was a humble married farmer who lost his wife and daughter and then became Bishop of Tremethus. He is most known for his miracle at the First Ecumenical Synod where he put the Arian heresy to shame, showing the three persons of the Holy Trinity to be One God with the example of a clay brick. When he confessed the name of the Father, fire was released from the brick. In the name of the Son, water dripped down and in the Holy Sprit, only the dust was left in the hand of the Saint.
