The ATSF Just West of Chicago
In this image we see some Santa Fe power at rest—including a splendid FP45, number 5947, tied up to a couple of SD45s, one sporting the older paint scheme.
Photographs taken by Richard Koenig on December 27th 1977.

I was tagged by @fkajohnlennon! Thanks Bunny! 💗💗💗
Tagging five people I want to get to know better! I’m not sure who hasn’t been tagged yet, so forgive some repeats if so. Tagging @crumblingcookies @javelinbk @i-am-the-oyster @soetrys @scurator if you want to!
Three ships:
Mclennon has consumed me body and soul. I will always have a place in my heart for Aziraphale/Crowley, Holmes/Watson (book version!) and Lanskiano (shoutout BWE fandom)
First ship:
Probably Han/Leia after I first saw Star Wars at age eight.
Last song:
You’re So Vain by Carly Simon. Can we all agree as a society that we should stop wearing bras again?
Last TV Show:
The Acolyte. I’m still a Star Wars fan through and through. I dug it!
Currently watching:
Nothing atm, but we have the Olympics on a lot. It’s the only time I’m somewhat invested in sports.
Currently reading:
Heart of Glass by @javelinbk! Also Helter Skelter. I get a craving for dark 60s history in the summer for some reason.
Currently eating:
Visiting my grandma in Santa Fe and I just ate some of her homemade cinnamon rolls!
Currently craving:
Red chili! I’m maximizing my chili intake while I’m in the Rio Grande valley because you simply cannot get it anywhere else in the world!

I was tagged by @fkajohnlennon 🧡🧡 Thank you!! 🧡🧡
I’ve seen a lot of folks have already gotten a tag and I might be repeating tags but I’ll tag @m1ssunderstanding @forthlin and @merseydreams if you haven’t done it yet and you wanna 😊
Three ships
John/Paul has completely taken over every brain cell. But I’m gonna be such a twin here and echo @notgrungybitchin with Aziraphale/Crowley and Meyer/Charlie from BWE. Steph and I have very aligned ship types lol
First ship
As far as actively shipping a pairing with all the deviant art searches and fic reading to go with it, it was Holmes/Watson, (the books, not the Moffatverse) and then Sherlock came out and really fucked up my search and I’m still bitter about it lol
Last song
Technically it was How It Ends by Devotchka. They were playing in Santa Fe (where Steph and I are currently visiting family) and that was the final song of their set
Last TV Show
The Acolyte (same answer as Steph *again* lol. It was really good, my favorite live action Star Wars show since Andor (but nothing on this earth will beat Andor tbqh)
Currently watching
The Olympics. Every two years I become a person who enjoys and willingly partakes in *sport* and wonders what would happen if I made handball or trampoline my entire personality instead of the expected football/basketball/baseball
Currently reading
Other than JP fic I’m currently reading Wylding Hall by Elizabeth Hand and it’s V GOOD. Perfect Venn diagram of 60s British music scene and rural folk horror and I’m so invested. It’s short but I’m personally taking it slow so I don’t burn through it too quickly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for rural English atmospheric summer spooky vibes with a 60s music angle
Currently eating
I’m in Santa Fe rn so I’m mainlining New Mexican red and green chile whenever I can get it BUT I broke my streak of only enchiladas and just had the most amazing dinner at a Japanese restaurant that gets a lot of hype, but holy shit was it worth it. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten
Currently craving
I’m very stuffed with gyoza and spicy tuna but I’m also excited for the mocha cake at The Shed where I think we’re gonna have dinner tomorrow. This whole trip has just been planning where we’re gonna eat next but I’m not mad about it

15 Questions
Tagged by @italianpersonwithashippersheart and @pandasmagorica
1. are you named after anyone?
Yes. First name is after my cousin's imaginary friend because my parents were wild. Middle name is after the song I was conceived to because my parents were really wild.
2. when was the last time you cried?
Externally? I joke that I haven't cried since 2009, but I really think that is the last time I cried. Internally? Every single fucking day.
3. do you have kids?
Oh, Lord, no.
4. what sports do you play/have you played?
Basketball, volleyball (horrible at it), fast-pitch softball, but I love watching all live sports.
5. do you use sarcasm?
Strange story, but many educators have to get "empathy training" because we do not understand declarations of self-harm to be serious. We think they are sarcastic comments. I think as an aging millennial, sarcasm is all we have, so we do not recognize when someone else is being serious. So . . . yes, I use sarcasm.
6. what’s the first thing you notice about people?
Vibes. I travel alone, so if the vibe ain't right, I'm out.
7. what’s your eye color?
Very dark brown
8. scary movies or happy endings?
Happy Endings. Both kind. *wink*
9. any talents?
Navigation and directions. Stick me anywhere, and I will find my way to where I need to go. Metro, bus, interstate, walking. Doesn't matter. I will figure it out. Also driving. I can drive loooong distances and any vehicle is my friend, which is why I got a ticket on the autobahn because I was just vibin' in the Audi at 150 km.
10. where were you born?
Japan
11. what are your hobbies
Traveling, especially for live music. I've seen hundreds of artists individually and have been to almost fifty music festivals. Some of my favorites are Austin City Limits (Austin), Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas), Lollapalooza (Chicago), Country Music Awards Fest (Nashville), Osheaga (Montreal), Ultra (Miami), Primavera (Barcelona), Mad Cool (Madrid), and Pa'l Norte (Monterrey, México). Some of my favorite venues are Meow Wolf (Santa Fe), Red Rocks (Denver), and Fenway Park (Boston), and I had a ticket to see a concert at the Palace of Versailles in France for May 2020, then everything went to hell in a hand basket. But strangely, I saw Bad Bunny, Big Freedia, and French DJ Gesaffelstein in 2020.
I could talk for hours about music, but I'll stop with this picture (not mine because none I took came out good) of Gesaffelstein who dresses like this for his shows with an all black background and all black equipment. Ah-maze-zing.
Tumblr media
12. do you have any pets?
Oh, God, no. I'm a Disney villain. I don't mess with animals. Or plants.
13. how tall are you?
5'9" (This is a good country song too)
14. favorite subject in school?
Languages & Literature, which is why I teach English now.
15. dream job
What I'm doing now. Teaching. Except I would like to grade less than ~150 essays every month, but education is a mess right now, so y'all be nice to your professors.

The Santa Fe Estate
Here is the video if you haven't seen it already!!
https://youtu.be/KdGYC-bMwLM
Today we have the incredible basement that included both a tiki themed bar and dance floor, a full size snooker table, as well as another themed bathroom!!
This abandoned Santa Fe style two-storey mansion was built in 1969.
After the owners passed away the home was sold for just under $6,000,000.  The house sat for a little while and then was completely gutted right down to the studs.  This may have been done after the owner was initially denied a demolition permit for the building.  Since then new demolition and building applications were submitted and approved.  The mansion was then demolished about a year later.
The home has been again listed for sale at prices ranging from $8-$23 million and has yet to sell.  When the property was listed for $23,000,000, this would have been for the newly constructed mega mansion that has been designed for the lot.
That current building permit allows for a 17,000 sq/ft mansion, with 5 underground parking spaces, 5 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, elevator, home theatre, sport court, a pool as well as other amenities.
Would you prefer to own the current Santa Fe style house or the proposed mega mansion, let me know your thoughts in the comments below!!

"On Aug. 16, the Duchess of Sussex appeared to wear the butterfly earrings that previously belonged to Prince Harry's late mother on the second day of their trip to Colombia. Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 43, visited the Colegio La Giralda school in Santa Fe, where the Duchess of Sussex sparkled in the sentimental earrings as they interacted with a kindergarten class and toured the grounds.
"The fun accessories were a perfect choice for the school visit, calling back to Princess Diana's connection with children. The late Princess of Wales worked as a kindergarten teacher in London before she married the future King Charles in 1981, and her statue at Kensington Palace depicts her with three children to reflect her work to nurture young people around the world."

Jack invited me to his two softball games tonight. They weren't far from my home.
When he was in college 5-6 years ago I went to some of his ultimate frisbee games, which weren't terribly close to home. When he and Matt were younger I attended most of their baseball, soccer, softball, and hockey games.
Going to my kids' games, and even practices when they were too young to drive themselves, was something I enjoyed. With a folding chair, cooler of soda or water, and whatever dog we had at the time (except for hockey) I'd watch games or read a magazine during practices. I never understood parents who dropped their kids off at games and picked them up afterwards.
Tonight somebody's black lab retrieved foul balls that landed far out of bounds in the woods. That was one happy hound.
Jack had a few good plays and nice hits. The players were all decent guys, and no one ever bitched at the umpire (unlike those parents at youth sporting events).
I had a nice motorcycle ride to get to the ball fields. I still enjoy watching the kids play, though I don't normally get a chance to watch Matt where he lives in Santa Fe.

Wahweap Overlook, AZ (No. 2)
Stories Within the Stone On the north side of Lake Powell, the geological layers of the Straight Cliffs, Tropic Shale, and Dakota formations allude to a world long gone. Within the fossil record, a remnant of the Cretaceous period (144-65 million years ago) is revealed. Plesiosaurs, Ichthyosaurs, and Tortoises swam in a vast inland seaway. The shoreline sported a lush habitat and the first flowering plants appeared. Among them, dinosaurs roamed the earth and early mammals flourished.
Franciscan Explorers On July 29, 1776 two Franciscan Priests, Padres Francisco Atanasio Domínguez, and Silvestre Vélez de Escalante set out on a quest. With a small assemblage of men, horses, and cattle, they departed Santa Fe, New Mexico in search of a trade route to Monterey, California. With winter soon at their heels, they decided to turn back, reaching the Colorado River at the Paria confluence on October 26. Finding the river difficult to cross, the padres dispatched scouts to seek out a better location. Think of the frustration experienced by these hungry, exhausted, explorers. Imagine the desperate hope that motivated their search. On November 7, they finally forded the river in present day Padre Bay at a location now known as Crossing of the Fathers. Though they failed in their quest to reach Monterey, part of their original route would come to be known as the Old Spanish Trail.

Wait, is that JESSE ST JAMES?  they kinda look a lot like CHARLES MELTON, don’t they? i heard the 21 year old is known as the EGOTIST around mckinley. it seems like they auditioned to be in VOCAL ADRENALINE AS CO-CAPTAIN which is so lame? people at campus have said they’re MAGNETIC, but don’t be fooled since they’re also RUTHLESS. rumor has it, you can find them at DRAMA/DANCE when they aren’t belting show tunes. their entire vibe revolves around THE HIGH NOTE AT THE END OF SANTA FE FROM NEWSIES, A PSEUDO BAD BOY PERSONA, SCULPTED CHEEKBONES THAT WOULD MAKE A GREEK GOD WEEP but no one pays attention to that here in ohio.
LIST ABOUT 3+ HEADCANONS ABOUT YOUR CHOSEN CHARACTER!
Jesse St James was born to two out-of-work actors and immediately pushed into the performing arts. From an early age he was in singing, dancing, and acting lessons, and filming local commercials. Although some people criticise stage parents, Jesse thrived in the environment and adoration became his fondest friend.
Unfortunately, despite what he could only describe as flawless performances, Jesse was unable to gain entry into any prestige musical theater courses, begrudgingly opting to train at McKinley instead of deferring and trying again next year. He’s trying not to let him slow him down, and his pride and joy is Vocal Adrenaline, where he has naturally risen to captain.
Some may think that his self-assured, egotistical bravado is an act, but this is truly who Jesse has been since a child, and it hasn’t made him well-liked, but it’s made him excellent. He’s not out to make friends, he’s out to make fans, and if he breaks some hearts along the way, all the better.

CONNECTIONS
blaine anderson: watching someone steal the national championship from your automatron hands not once, but three times, will definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth, and a broken egg on their head.
rachel berry: when you perform sixteen going on seventeen with someone in front of 200 people in the lima community theatre production of the sound of music, you don't forget them easily, so it was a no-brainer when shelby told him to put himself back on her radar.
quinn fabray: he won't lie and say he doesn't have a soft spot for the soft-voiced beauty.
finn hudson: between being the most predictable choice that quinn could have made, and heading the most riff raff showchoir in the country, the guy doesn't impress jesse.
madison mccarthy: both of them are razor-sharp focused on their ambition and are prepared to do whatever it takes to get there. naturally, they're not fans of each other.
sebastian smythe: they say that when two people get that close, they're about to kiss or kill each other. with these two, it's both.
jeff sterling: jesse's really into his showchoir, jeff's really into his band. hustle recognises hustle.

If Josefina had been around for the limited edition sports outfits in the 1990s, what would her sport/outfit been?
I think the theme was more outdoor play than sports, as you can see with Felicity's outfit being for the occasion of attending the fair. And I do wish Josefina had been able to be included for that, but she was released in autumn 1997, about six months after the limited edition outfits were introduced.
A few years later, though, she was given an outfit and accessory set as part of another limited edition outdoor outfits release.
Tumblr media
Her herb gathering set was basically a rebozo and some small accessories.
This is so tricky to come up with something for Josefina, since she wouldn't have had time for a lot of play. She worked from sunrise to sunset six days a week, and so playing outdoors wasn't something she often had the chance to do. Anything done outdoors would usually be chores.
I looked through Welcome to Josefina's World to get some ideas, and didn't find much. Harvesting piñon nuts would work as a theme, but she already has her harvest outfit to do that. And she's got so many party dresses in her collection, that I don't think she'd need yet another. A sheep shearing outfit might slightly fit the theme, but wouldn't be any different from her usual outfits. So would a bread baking outfit, or clothes to wear while she patches the adobe on the village church. An outfit for visiting the market in Santa Fe already exists. An outfit to wear while walking the holy pilgrimage to the church at Chimayo on Good Friday would be neat, but wouldn't fit the outdoor play theme.
I think you've stumped me! Let me sit on this idea for a few days and see if I can come up with something better.
