Lol, I didn’t think I had already talked about Star Trek on my blog!

Your opinion is really interesting, thanks for your response! As you probably already know, I have a soft spot for AOS because that’s how I discovered Star Trek in the first place. In my opinion, the 2009 movies have a dual reading precisely to encourage new audiences to explore TOS. Watching TOS and the original films gives a whole new layer of meaning to the remakes, which is what makes them so deep for me. I know a lot of TOS fans didn’t appreciate the AOS films, but as someone who got into the Star Trek universe through them, I think they can be enjoyed both by newcomers and by those familiar with the TOS references (Nimoy’s Spock, Khan, Kirk’s death in the second movie, etc.).

Speaking of which, Kirk’s death in the second movie as a role reversal of Spock’s death in Wrath of Khan… I absolutely love that scene, because right before it, Quinto!Spock asks Nimoy!Spock how the Enterprise crew defeated Khan in the original timeline. Nimoy!Spock tells him they won “at great cost,” and Quinto!Spock is convinced that means his life. Only to realize that he actually lost Kirk instead—something that, for him, is probably an even greater sacrifice. I feel like the remakes did a really good job at showing the human side of Spock, even if the subtlety of TOS was a nice portrayal as well. And while we’re on the topic of the second movie, which is my favorite of the trilogy, I learned while exploring TOS that the series always aimed to comment on contemporary politics and society. Having a crew that included an American, an alien, a Japanese man, a Russian, and a Black woman during the Cold War was a powerful message! Same with featuring the first interracial kiss in American TV history. I find it fascinating that the remakes also tackle weighty topics like attempted genocide (with the destruction of Vulcan), terrorism, and the on-screen representation of a gay couple with a child. I can understand the AOS movies have a very different vibe, very blockbuster-y and yes, it's not CAMPY at all, but I like them 😅🥰

So yeah, I kind of accidentally stumbled into Star Trek TOS last October and I’ve been obsessed ever since ^^’ (you can bet I’ve thought about making Inazuma crossovers hghjhgfghj). I’ve watched the whole original series and the six subsequent movies (+ the Animated Series of course tehehehe), and right now I’m on the last season of TNG. I’ve been enjoying it a lot, but it doesn’t tickle my brain quite like TOS does, for reasons unknown to me. :p Hyperfixations are capricious like that —well, I’m not teaching you anything here. x) TOS is just so BEAUTIFUL and SINCERE and HOPEFUL and CAMPY -oh my god the sheer amount of camp is incredible- and it’s about LOVE and UGHHHH it makes my brain short-circuit. ;—;

And yeah, I’ve watched the AOS trilogy… I actually told myself I wouldn’t talk about them too much on my blog because of how many Complex Feelings I have about them and I thought no one would care about it, but well… You gave me an opportunity to yap, so I will YAP, be warned!! >:D

I saw on your blog that you’re a fan of the reboot movies (or at least you were in 2018) so I’m kind of afraid to share my opinion kjhgfdfg, but well, you did ask so uh… I kinda hate them?? o///o

Sdfujhfdfghj okay that’s inaccurate, because they do bring me a great deal of joy (ESPECIALLY the first two), so I guess you could call them my most Dearly Beloathed movies? Like movies that I love to hate. The third movie is genuinely okay in my opinion, so it brings me the least amount of joy (paradoxical, but you get what I mean).

I guess if I had watched these movies without being a TOS fan I wouldn’t have such strong feelings on them, but as it stands, they just kinda betray everything I like about Star Trek. I tried to go into them with an open mind, thinking “okay, this was made for a new audience, it’s with different takes on the characters, it’s gonna be its own thing…” but I quickly realised that, um… no? These movies (again, especially the first two) actually RELIED on me having prior Trek knowledge (like Nimoy’s Spock showing up in the first movie, and Khan and Carol Marcus in the second). So I was like, which is it?? Should I take this as its own new take on the franchise or as a fan-service redux of the old stuff?? To me, the movies were failing at being either of these (failing at being a new thing because of how much it relied on previous instalments, and failing at pleasing old fans because the characters and writing were simply inferior and it WASN’T EVEN CAMPY). So at first I was confused and frustrated with this, but then as I thought about it more and more, it kinda started to become hilarious? The second movie especially relied SO MUCH on the audience having prior knowledge of the franchise that I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all (“My name… is Khan” DUDE THEY DON’T KNOW YOU THEY DON’T CARE. ALSO they redid Spock’s death scene but reversed and with none of the emotional impact HFJXHCHDHDHC). I could go into detail about it for hours and hours but uh, no one wants that, so I’ll stop there for now. ^^’

The third movie actually succeeds at being a movie that can stand on its own so it’s not nearly as funny. :/ But I’m certainly not gonna complain about it being competent. x)

Sorry if I’ve been mean to these films, I really want to stress that they bring me much joy and that, at the end of the day, I’m very glad that they exist.

Spirk is the greatest love story to ever grace television obviously. These are two people that simply BELONG together and you dont even need to ship them to see that. EVERYONE sees that. But also my opinion is that Bones needs to be there as well or else there is no point.

The Inazuma fandom refusing to see Gouenji as a Soccer Freak to the same extent as Tenma and Endou, even if

Even though he doesn't have the same line as Tenma about "soccer has feelings", Gouenji thinks that feelings can be transmitted through soccer. So much so that it is one of the reasons why in the anime he kicks balls at his teammates. He doesn't know how to express his own thoughts or feelings, and he thinks that through soccer he can show everything he feels, wanting his teammates to take it seriously.

He cares so much about the team that, in season 2, he put Yuuka's life at possible risk to help them in the match against Epsilon, He loves soccer and his team

He infiltrated the fifth sector, giving up his own soccer career, almost ruining his friendships with Raimon, even taking bad actions and ruining his own reputation,(And maybe even with a chance of being arrested if something went wrong) all to save soccer, He even refers to soccer as his "savior", No normal person thinks of cutting ties with friends over soccer, even if it was just acting

He loves soccer as much as Endou

I'm rewatching the original Inazuma Eleven with my boyfriend. He knows I'm a huge fan, but I never really pushed him to watch the anime because, well, I know how weird it is. I love IE, but I have to admit that I find it pretty hard to recommend, even to friends who are into anime.

Anyway, my boyfriend seemed to enjoy Season 1 quite a bit, but then Season 2 came along and... the aliens didn't really win him over 😅

I wanted to know what you all think about OG IE's second season. I never really considered it a weaker season, even if the alien theme is a bit out there when you think about it 😂 But so far, it's the season that has discouraged every single friend I've tried to introduce to the series, so I'm curious—what does the rest of the fandom think?

My favorite game vs anime difference of S3 so far is how Kidou is the one beefing against Fudou and everyone has to stop him before he punch Fudou's face

Coming back with a tiny weeny kdfd animatic, it's always so cool to see the two of them kinda "be alive" ahah. For this one, I was inspired by this short from @aokiib on Youtube (lmao, their animatics are so much better than mine but lol).

So, the story behind this animatic is that I wanted to do something for 🎗️PINKTOBER🎗️ this year !

I imagined Kidou attending a Pinktober charity event as the CEO or high-ranked manager from a big-name company, wearing a bright pink t-shirt over his classic white shirt for work, and trying to order something at the coffee stand. Fudou on the other hand, would be one of the volunteers from the event and hates to see all these companies trying to pinkwash their names by coming at the charity event even though they're not giving a single penny to the cause the rest of the time. When Kidou tries to order something, he starts messing up with him, but soon finds him kinda cute, and I guess they would just have a cute little love story from here!

Heeeyyy, back with this update (sorry again for how long some of you had to wait for it) !

I’ll try to go back drawing this comic but for now I’ll just post the chapters I had stored in my drafts. I hope you’ll enjoy it... Having Kidou realizing how hard it is for Fudou to be living in his shadow and Fudou finally feeling like he is seen as an equal by his utlimate rival was kind of carthartic to me ❤️

I too ship Kidou and Fudou for practically a decade now (and WOW I feel so old all of a sudden), and I still find new ways to explore their dynamics and relationship. They are high-quality characters, and Inazuma Eleven, the original 3 seasons, really exploited them so well.
