Comic Practice

Did this as comic practice. I wanted to illustrate Hane and Sapphire .exe’s relationship a little. This was probably a scenario before Sapphire .exe was reformed or where Sapphire .exe was struggling to be a good person. I also wanted to practice height differences and wanted to show off that Sapphire .exe does have fire powers, it’s one of her powers that she uses when she fights.

In the Arms of an Angel || (The Angel’s Secret Arc Prologue)

Night fell upon ACDC Town, the stars twinkled and glistened in the moon’s warm light as Mileah and Sapphire stared at the sky. No one was around, which meant stargazing would be easy and pleasant. Through this experience, Mileah sighed, remembering these moments she had with her father. 

They used to go stargazing all the time in the summertime. Once the sun began to set, Edward would take Mileah into the car, and drive far away from their hometown and out into the wilderness; under their favorite tree to the rest among the starry sky. Those days may have been over, although the resonated in her heart. The sweet reminiscence embraced her, bringing a smile on her face. At that moment, something had emerged from the memories of her father; that she had forgotten and had not completed yet. She couldn’t believe how long she had put it aside... what would her father think if he knew she wasn’t pursuing her dreams?

“Hey Sapph, remember we made that promise back in Creamland, ‘bout us being NetSaviors?” Mileah asked softly, not making eye contact, “Well, we’re gonna make it happen. We’re going to make our dream come true.”

{{“Really? That’s awesome! I’ve been waiting to finally get into some action! I’m sure your dad would be proud that we’ll be saving the lives of others.”}} Sapphire replied with joy, as the remark of her father made the smile slightly vanish. 

Her father was a wonderful man, one taken way too soon. When Mileah was six years old, Edward Athelia had died in war. This knowledge destroyed her world, and her life plummeted down further from the sky that she was once in. Bullies through the grade school years, no friends, isolation, and depression all lead to Mileah’s world to collapse within itself; leaving the poor girl emotionally. physically and mentally wounded. It wasn’t until she had received Sapphire for her 15th birthday that everything began to change. If only her father was able to see the journey and help her through the struggles of life. Unfortunately it didn’t seem it was meant to be…

The tomboy pushed it all aside and pushed herself up from the grass, discarding the statement. Right now the last thing she needed was sadness.

"C'mon Sapph, we should go home. It's getting late." She said with the enthusiasm dimming from her eyes.

With this mood, she walked ahead as Sapphire flinched at her NetOp's response. She knew she had touched a sensitive spot upon mentioning Edward. The NetNavi wanted to say something back, although couldn't find the courage to do so. She messed up already, and feared doing it again. The two then walked home in silence, as light started to shine brightly upon them.

The light quickly amplified in intensity, causing the girls to turn back to see, something shoot by them and dash ahead to the Athelia household. Sapphire and Mileah ran home as fast as they could, to open the door to see...

“D-Dad?!”

Edward was next to Mana, with beautiful white wings and a shiny yellow halo over his head, hugging his weeping wife. The angel heard the call, and was pleasantly surprised.

“Hello Milly... or should I call you Miles now?” Edward inquired, before he was jumped by his daughter, who too began to cry. 

He hugged them both as Sapphire watched from the sidelines. Her ears drooped, but a weak smile unfolded from the awkwardness. At least they were all happy.

“I’m so glad you’re back Dad... I missed you so much, and there’s so much I have to share with you.”

It was a few days later after Sapphire encountered Dark Rockman, and unfortunately, she still didn't find the accursed weapon she sought after. As the search started to slowly deteriorate, the tomboy fell into a sense of obscurity and worry. She did send a request on the Net Saver BBS for assistance in the search, however no one replied. I wish the Net Savers actually responded... Oh well, I guess I have to do it by myself. Again. Compared to last time, she was exploring the Net during the day, looking for the ghost town she found days ago. Her discovery was successful, although, nothing or no one was there unlike before; and along with that there was no Dark Rock. With him now in her thoughts, she now wondered how he was doing and where he was. Hm, I haven't seen or heard from that nice navi. I'll go see if I can find him, after all, he did say I can come and meet up with him again, so why not? Establishing her goal to herself, the navi went jumping through the Cyber World, hoping to find the friend she made; thinking that maybe he would be in the mood to converse more. These thoughts also distracted her, causing her to slam into a pole by accident. Poor Sapphie wasn't having the luckiest day...
