2025 Aries New Moon/Eclipse

Ordinarily I’d here insert the usual key phrase about a New Moon, but this one is a solar eclipse New Moon. Better not to mess with it.

This is an eclipse belonging to Saros Series “9 New North.” In her book The Eagle and the Lark, astrologer Bernadette Brady described this as

…a very physically expressive Saros Series. Accidents, great physical effort, violence or any sudden physical events. These can be experienced positively as, for example, the first time snow-skiing, or it can be felt negatively in terms of accidents and so on. The approach to take when this Series is affecting a chart is not to hide away but to undertake some physical activity, with an ever-watchful eye to safety.

So, if we absolutely insist on setting an intention, making one about getting more exercise might work well with the energies. Focus more on becoming healthier and stronger - building on a positive idea - rather than on (say) losing weight to look better.

We have all kinds of amazing ideas (maybe all the exercise jogs them into being?) now. Mercury will Rx back into Pisces less than four hours after the New Moon matures, and is conjunct Neptune 29 minutes after that.

However! We have an 11-hour void Aries Moon, starting 09:18 UTC on Sunday the 30th. A few hours after that, Neptune enters the sign Aries. It doesn’t remain there for very long, as it will retrograde back into Pisces one last time in October.

Overreaction is something to worry about during that void Moon. There’s also a tendency to see everything as binary, even when we know better. (As the possessor of a natal Aries Moon, I know all about it.) Even after the Moon enters Taurus (20:16 UTC Sunday the 30th) we’re still uncertain and suspicious. Draw on that legendary Taurus Moon patience and hang in there until Tuesday, April 1. We’ll emerge from the shadow of the eclipse that day, and can take the practical next-steps we need.

With the completion of the Starry Court series late last year and our third NAMM Show coming up this week, I just want to take a moment say how happy and how proud I am with how far Eclipsed Sounds has come!

Eclipsed Sounds' whole purpose was to fulfill requests for voices we had seen members of the vocal synthesis community making for a long time - in some cases up to 10 years! And now with the Starry Court complete, it finally feels like the right time to take a second to be proud of everything we managed to accomplish.

We're getting so close to the fourth anniversary of SOLARIA's crowdfund this year, and I couldn't be more grateful for the overwhelming support and the opportunity to bring these voices to Synthesizer V Studio!

No matter what happens going forward, I'm so happy for everything we've managed to achieve! SOLARIA, ASTERIAN, SAROS and NYL are all released and available for anyone to make music with - it's more than we ever dreamed we would manage!

With what's coming up, we're taking an approach different from what we've seen done before, so I hope everyone can look forward to it! I'll keep working as hard as always with the rest of the team to make it something memorable!

Ask them to describe their love interest. hmm. well i could answer how they would describe saro mentally or i could do how they wld describe her out loud bc those are two very different things i think. out loud is funnier though so ill go with that and say they wld describe saro (after probably a full minute of silently thinking about the matter) as small. and prone to self destruction.

Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them? its probably closer to the latter. like i dont think guin is particularly good at puzzles nor do they find them fun to do but theyre also very patient. so it would take a really long time for them to get fed up with a puzzle but its still far more likely for that to happen than for them to honestly enjoy the process yknow. frankly i dont know what situation they would be in that would have them doing puzzles at all other than like. idk a classic dnd dungeon crawl that they got roped into

13. Name one thing their parents taught them. this is hard because well. you know guins parents whole deal. its hard to think of something that guin could actually state as a concrete lesson that they learned from their parents instead of just like. the way your situation growing up inherently shapes who you become when youre older in ways you cant necessarily recognize. if anything i guess they learned that maybe you should talk to your kids more than once every 10 years. but even that is a stretch

I know Saros is a relatively recent release and needs more time to catch on, but I would love to see more people use them. They have a rich, solid tone and a whooping 10 vocal modes for maximum expressiveness. Saros was also the first voicebank with Spanish capabilities on the Synthesizer V engine! Apart from the technical aspects, they have a glamorous androgynous design that complements the other Eclipsed Sounds vocals, Solaria and Asterian, very nicely.
