I just saw dou updated your Header and I dont know anything about it so what is Bloodywood about?

OH MY DAYS okay so!! Bloodywood isn't a tv show or anything, they're an Indian Folk Metal band from New Delhi, and they're awesome. Their music is absolutely amazing, but they're also really nice guys who sing about stuff that's really important - like mental health and depression, sexual assault, poverty, corrupt politics, bullying, and grief and loss. And they put their money where their mouth is too, and donate a lot of their earnings to charity, which is genuinely just...really REALLY cool. I think the lyrics that Raoul raps in the song Chakh Le really sums them up well:

No blame, no shame and no more games The potential of the privileged unleashed and untamed I came for the cash, stayed for fame but pay attention, Cuz I ain't gonna use it the same!

Anyway, I highly recommend them. I'm so in love with the way they incorporate traditional instruments into their music - they've got a dhol player, Sarthak, who is on a lot of the tracks, and the founder of the band, Karan, plays guitar and flute, and augh his flute solos genuinely make me want to cry, they're so gorgeous. The two vocalists, Raoul and Jayant, are INSANELY talented, and then the drummer and the bassist are just fantastic too.

Namita Agrawal is an Oriya singer. He sings modern and film music under the name Namita and bhajan and Nivedita.

Birth, family and education-- Namita was born on February 1, 1969 in Tulsipur, Cuttack. His father is Laxmidhar Das and his mother is Annadamanjari Das. He was the third child of his parents. His ancestral village is Nemal. At the age of 5, he learned to sing Jagannath's traditional hymns from his grandfather JJB Kashinath Das and younger JJBapa Dashrathi Das.

Personal life-- In 1992, Namita married Sitaram Agrawal, a sound engineer. At the time, Agrawal, along with his father, was J.E. He founded the company and produced Oriya songs. After marrying Sitaram Agrawal, Namita Das became known as Namita Agrawal.

Working life At the age of ten, he began to learn Odissi music, chandas, champu, etc. from music teachers such as Akhil Kumar Lenka, Niroj Nalini Kumar, Tarani Ranjan Jena and Bishwanath Rao. He later joined the JVS. He learned Hindustani classical music from Rao, Deepak Basu, Nitai Sinha, Sugam music from Sunakar Sahu and Odissi music from Harmohan Khuntia.

She started singing at Akashwani Cuttack Center as a child artist at the age of ten and joined Akashwani as a recognized artist at the age of 16 in 1986. Since 1989, she has been singing in private studios in addition to airwaves.

His first hymn cassette was released in 1992. In 1993, he also sang the Laxmipurana, composed by Balaram Das. Jagannath's enslaved Oriya Bhagavata is one of them.

Apart from Oriya, he has sung Sanskrit verses and hymns. Of these, the hymns of Govind Damodar are noteworthy. She has sung modern and films under the pseudonym Nivedita. His first modern cassette was released in 1996. In 2009, she first sang in a film (What a Sky).

Agrawal has acted in some of his hymns. 91.9 He is the co-founder of Siddhartha FM, Siddhartha TV, Siddhartha Music and Sarthak Music. She has worked as a judge on a number of music-based events, including Swar Odisha.

Course news - July to September 2019

Ending to Year with TMTT

Our third and final term began on 25th June with an insightful Skype lecture on songwriting as an intervention for end of life care by Jane Lings, music therapist, part-time course lecturer at University of the West of England and clinical supervisor. This was followed by an equally inspiring lecture on music therapy as an intervention for people with a dual diagnosis of learning difficulties and mental health problems by Dr. Melissa Elliot, an experienced music therapist employed by the NHS, Wales.

Min, my assistant tutor ran an excellent module on ‘group clinical improvisation for lessening the negative effects of our inner critic.’ She also did two further sessions on how to lead group drumming.

At the beginning of July we said goodbye to our music therapists Polly and Nina, who having completed their year’s internship were returning to the UK.

The students had bought them some beautiful hand-made shawls to take back.

As the term rushed by, so the pressure on the full-time students increased, with three important assignments (theoretical foundations essay, reflexive journal feedback and case study) to submit, a thorough analyses of their one to one clinical work to be carried out for presentation in supervision group and viva presentations and clinical improvisation exams to prepare for.

As well as the academic and placement work, the students had a crash course in learning to play the ukulele, taught by Sarthak, and rehearsed two songs for piano and guitar which they performed on the last day of the course to showcase the musical skills they had learnt on both instruments throughout the year. Seeing them perform their pieces gave me a great feeling of pride in what they had achieved over a relatively short period of time.

The final exams took place on 21st and 22nd September with Dr. Jaya Rajagopalan and Dr. Min-Jeong Bae acting as the external examiners. All five of the full-time students passed with flying colours; news which they received after the second day of exams.The great news is that we received our accreditation from Pune University so we are now an officially recognised PGD training course in India!

...and so my amazing year in New Delhi with The Music Therapy Trust has come to an end, though not my time in India working as a course lecturer in music therapy. We have an exciting new venture with plans to continue the music therapy training amongst as well as other new intiatives which we plan to set up under our new name - watch this space!
