(AU) shaadi aesthetics - Rudra and Soumya got married a 2nd time

Rudra and Soumya spent weeks arguing, fighting and mostly annoying the rest of the family with how to go about the situation after their accidental shaadi. Everyone, even Khanna and the entire staff, would usually leave the room the second they started again because these two could be worse than Shivaay bhaiyya and Anika bhabhi when it came to yelling and shouting at each other. That’s why it was all the more a surprise to the family when one day they walked into the living room, holding hands, announcing that they’d give it a try. Rudra had watched KKHH the night before and realized that maybe it was his best friend after all, kyun ki pyaar dosti hai, and Sumo... well, she was just glad that her duffer finally came around. Shivaay insisted on them getting married another time, pure reeti-rivaaz aur dhoom dhaam ke saath, in front of their family and loved ones. Saumya, Gauri and Anika took care of the decorations and the theme. Everything was decorated in a subtle pink and white, with fairy lights, carnations and roses. The girls picked Tum Se as the song for their first official dance as married couple, which crushed Rudy’s hopes of dancing to Palat Tera Hero Idhar Hai. If he couldn’t get that, then he wanted to be responsible for the reception party and the music after with the help of his brothers at least. He insisted on making his special punch and you know how it went after... let’s just say Saumya had the proper welcome into the Oberoi khandaan and once the photographer sends the pictures they‘ll all find out what went down after Rudra’s highly questionable beverage of choice.

If you could make the IB girls (their character) to be in a relationship with other male desi tv characters, who would it be?

Anika: Mayank from Miley Jab Hum Tum.

Snark monsters who’d sass each other to death, in the best way possible. She deserves someone who’d challenge her and fight her, but is non-problematic.

Gauri (Kumari Sharma): Lol, NK from IPKKND.

He’s so cute and soft and worshipful and Gauri deserves someone who’s fully enamoured of her. Also, they’re different enough for us to get the lolz from watching them navigating life together, but again, he’s completely non-problematic and that’s what my girl deserves.

Saumya: Shravan from Ek Duje Ke Vaaste.

Both because I’m loving the Sumo/Shravan thing, and coz she’d be a good match for his casual sexism and fuckery by shutting him down with facts. Also, height difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bhavya: Neil from Naamkarann.

Somebody started this petition to get Saumya back, I don’t know how effective it will be, but I feel like we at least have to try. Saumya as a character mattered to a lot of people and we weren’t even given a proper closure on her story. Plus the story of Rudra that is being shoved down our throats is forced and doesn’t make sense. Rudra and bhavya don’t even have any chemistry. I am tagging you guys because you are the most famous ishqbaaz blogs I know and I feel like maybe you can get people to sign this. we just need almost 150 signatures more. Hello TT ji, I was reading your really old IB lbs and I saw that you wrote that Annika was one of your fav female tellywood characters (early on in the show, when she doesn't take society's bs of her so called character assassination saving Shivaay from being deemed a murderer). Made me curious, what other tellywood female characters have you been a fan of?

Oh man, I really really loved the Anika of yore. I miss her so muchhhhh right now. Oh well.

The following is by no means a comprehensive list, but just a few (lead) characters I’ve loved over the years that came to me when I received your question:

Parvati Agarwal (Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki): I always liked her best from among the leading ladies of the three big K serials (Kyunki, Kahaan, Kasautii…) Sakshi played her with this amazing strength and dignity, and she went on to be just an all-round badass as the show went on. She was my TV mom!

Zoya Farooqi (Qubool Hai): She was the draw of that whole show for me. She was so lovely and strong-willed and quirky and just… She literally lit up every life she touched. She was pure love and sunshine. I know they phased it out later, but I used to really love when they used to touch upon her interest and aptitude for technology, showing us a facet that girls aren’t really shown having in Tellywood.

Paakhi Shekhawat/Rathore (Tumhari Paakhi):  She was such a bright spirit, and so determined yet dignified in the way she fought for her position in Anshuman’s family. The sheer sweetness and brilliance of Paakhi made me overcome a show premise that I wouldn’t normally consider watching (child marriage, the hero already has a child, yet another urban/rural divide, etc.)

Aliya Ghulam Haider (Beintehaa): I was just drawn to her because she was a regular, no-nonsense forthright kinda girl who didn’t put up with bullshit from Zain, as much as she loved him. Perhaps the only female lead I’ve seen who has the most pragmatic approach to a marriage. 

Gauri Kumari Sharma (DBO/Ishqbaaaz): Reasons here. She isn’t flawless (as per my perception) but I love her, flaws and all.

For that matter, all the girls featured in Ishqbaaz, like Mallika, Tia, Saumya, Svetlana, even Bhavya to a certain extent… Other than Mallika, their characters never got due justice in the show, but I still love them. A lot.

Oh dear sweet anon,

If 10 is the hope you should hold that the sun will rise tomorrow (100%, unless Trump initiates nuclear war tonight), and 1 is the amount of hope I have of achieving a completely flat stomach in this godforsaken lifetime (zero point zero percent), then I’d say you should be like…. a 2, or 3 on the scale. 😔😔😔

On one hand, I have even less faith in GulNeet than I do in myself to do the crunches to achieve that aforementioned flat tummy, but on the other, I was mildly encouraged by a line I read in the written update, where Bhavya vows that either Sultan or her will survive this cat and mouse chase they’re engaged in right now. I know I’m a totally awful person for this, but I’m kinda hoping that she’ll die while taking Sultan down, paving the way for Saumya’s return. But oh well, it’s my usual fanciful overthinking. 😗😗😗

I say, keep your hopes super low; that way, if Saumya *does* ever return, at least you’ll be pleasantly surprised! 😊😊😊

Hi... How are you doing?!? Did you see Leenesh's latest insta post in which he basically says this is not the end of your story its the end of their part in your story.. Its a rudra and bhavya pic.. How much hope does this gives you that maybe saumya is coming back?!? Or is it too farfetched to hope at this point...!! I miss saumya so much 😭😭😭😭😭

I did see! And I totally got my hopes up too!!!! It kinda seems like Bhavya might be on her way out? Like, that’s how majority of the fandom (including I) interpreted it.

Every time, man, every time I think I’ve made my peace with Saumya’s departure, something like this happens to give me hope and mess with my feelz. I’m just so tired and sad at this point; I want all these ppl to stop fucking with my heart like this. 😪😪😪
