Monsieur le Ministre Kim Jae-Soo (Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Aliments et Affaires Ruraux), le travail de Savekoreandogs ( qui se battent pour terminer l'horrible commerce de la viande de chien en Korée du Sud) a été rendu plus difficile à maintes reprises: leurs demandes aux autorités d'agir pour renforcer les diverses lois concernant les actes illégaux au sein de ce commerce, ont eu peu de succès. Ceci aussi à cause de la manière dont les diverses loi relatives aux animaux et aux aliments sont formulées. Par exemple, dans le décret d'application de la Loi de l'Industrie du bétail, les "chiens" sont classifiés comme "bétail". Cette formulation au sein de la Loi de la Protection des Animaux permet actuellement aux lieux d'abattage de chiens, même illégaux, de continuer à fonctionner sans opposition. En outre, les sanctions contre les malfaiteurs, punis selon la Loi de Protection des Animaux, sont trop minimales pour être dissuasives. L'entraînement et les connaissances de la Police ne sont pas adéquats face aux violations de ces lois. Et en Korée du Sud il n'existe pas de Département séparé pour la Protection des Animaux. Par conséquent, pour que SaveKoreanDogs puissent obtenir un soutien officiel dans leurs efforts et pour qu'ils puissent intervenir dans le commerce illégal, inhumain et brutal de la viande de chien, il est impératif que les formulations de ces lois soient pertinentes et que des changements soient faits aussi au sein du "système" officiel. Un des changements demandés les plus importants est de supprimer "chiens"de la catégorie "bétail" dans le Décret d'application de la Loi de l'Industrie du Bétail. SaveKoreandogs (Nami Kim et son équipe) ont rédigé des propositions détaillées pour des changements et vous demandent de les accepter. Who do you partner with to foster your Jindo puppies? They're all so precious!

I foster occasionally for Nami Kim at SaveKoreanDogs.org. They pull out dogs and puppies from dog meat farms, and document it extensively on their facebook. (facebook(.)com/savekoreandogs/) I’m able to foster puppies because they’re quickly adopted (and my city allows it). If you foster these kinds of puppies, you have to 1) be approved by Nami Kim, 2) pay for their travel fee, and 3) be prepared for them to be sick, and 4) assume all responsibility and costs for their care while you foster them. It’s more difficult and costly than a local foster program, but I’ve found that it’s worth it, and very rewarding to give these pups a second chance.
