Spike is a scavenger (Human)! In the MLPxWOF Verse, scavengers and dragons are going to less hate each other and more-so coexist awkwardly. Humans still fear dragons but mostly steer clear and dragons also steer clear because of the weapons.
Spear was orphaned at a young age, not remembering his parents at all. He remembers a fire, maybe, but he woke up in the arms of a young dragon. This young dragon, Twilight Reader, recognized that there was intelligence within Spear’s mind, and so they worked together to teach one another’s languages. They grew closer as they aged and Spear grew to see Twilight not as a fearsome beast, but as a close friend. And the feeling was mutual. While Spear doesn’t always understand what’s going on with Twilight, he promises to stay at her side no matter what.

what if moon is listener's descendant? she probably had kids on the volcano, so it's not impossible.
another thing, maybe someone from dragonslayer is descended from the scavengers they set free? a bit more unlikely, but. kinda a cool thought!

The funniest thing in WoF to me is how everything is sized up for dragons to use and whatnot. Of course it would be, given they're like 20 feet tall and such.
This makes it so that scavengers are incredibly tiny and small in comparison to literally everything else. Apples are almost as big as a person's head. This makes the sizing pretty funny to look at

#4 - "Sword"
Smaugust 2024
What even is a sword anyway? Scholars will ponder this question for millennia.
Last multi-panel post for a while. Tomorrow's is just going to be simple and quick. Need time to recuperate.

"Scaverngers are humans and shouldnt be in wings of fire!" - broke (even tho i agree)
"Scavengers are elfs and should be in wof" - oh? Im listening
"All scavengers are actually different races of hominids such as dwarves, elfs, tieflings, etc" - New favorite headcannon
I mean if you are a bigass dragon, you wouldn't notice if some scavengers were taller or shorter or with a different ear shape. They are just scavengers. A snack. Or a hobbie or smth.

I honestly think that scavengers would eat dragon meat. Like seriously they are called scavengers and you're telling me not a single one ever considered it? One must have come across a dead dragon and went "oh wow look at all this free meat I can take back home and sell." Hell I wouldn't be surprised if there are a small group of brave scavengers that just seek out dragon war zones wait until the conflict is over and then just start scavenging around for scrap metal, teeth, scales, horns, meat, bones (to even make dragon steel maybe 👀) gold, and tribe specific features. I think we should lean more into the fact that scavengers are actually scavengers so they should actually scavenge things it would make them more interesting.

I've seen people make human AUs and equate Winter's scavenger fascination with being like. a crazy cat person. and while that is really good and I do think Winter would and should be crazy about cats, I do think like... if you are going to give him an equivalent interest you gotta go nicher than that. Like, being a Cat PersonTM is a thing like half the population identifies at. You GOTTA go stranger. He needs to be regularly attending reptile conventions. He needs to daydream about owning a praying mantis. He needs to yell at underpayed PetSmart workers about how small the fish tanks are that they keep the bettas in. He needs to be offered the chance to hold a snake and he needs to talk to that snake like he's greeting the queen. He needs to show you photos of tarantulas please please please look at his pictures please of his tarantulas

Counting stars by OneRepublic
Illustration with young Stargazer, plus origins of her name~ Once again a long piece of text under the cut! It dwels into Stargazer's doubts about the future and her determination to live as a dragon she always wanted to be
There was a young nightwing dragoness, fleeing from her old life in the dead of night. She didn't really knew, where exactly she was going, but she most certainly didn't wanted to blow her chance for a better future. Family will do just fine without their rebellious “son”, who is not interested in the future they prepared for “him,” but friends... Big changes don't come without sacrifice, even if you have to leave behind the only dragons who believed in you and saw you for who you really was. She dreamed about this day most of her life, she couldn't have possibly made a mistake, throwing everything away... right? Oh no. ...What was she even thinking? She couldn't become a healer on her own. Where would she even learn? Is there any good healers in other kingdoms? She was fortunate enough to hatch into the smartest tribe of all, how she could possibly get a fine knowledge without them? She had a decent enough life with a foreseeable future, even if she hated it, and now she was, a disgrace, all alone somewhere on the continent - no friends, no stability and even no name! Well, last one wasn't that regrettable. She thought about changing it for a long time, it was stupid anyway and didn't fit her at all. Besides, new name would complicate the search, when her absence will eventually be noticed. She raised her head slowly, uncertain about her next steps, when she suddenly froze. Stars. Countless lights framed the dark sky, shining brighter than the silver scales under the wings of the most beautiful nightwing. During the long flight, she was too focused on her thoughts and the landscape below to notice the splendor spread out above, and now dragoness stood, soaking up the moonlight and the cool night air with every inch of her body. Somehow, she felt a sense of calm, as her doubts started to fade just a little bit. She would never saw the real stars if she stayed. What else awaits her beyond the ash-covered island? Besides, now she knows, how she wants to be called.
Some backstory for the grumpy healer) Stargazer was a very ambitious dreamer in her youth, and even now, despite her feigned cynicism, deep down she remains the same, espetially sinse she became very confident and comfortable in her skin over the years. She hasn't visited either her family or her home island since leaving and does not plan to do so in the future, but she occasionally remembers her old friends, although she does not believe that she will ever meet them again - after all, several decades have passed.
Stargazer transitioned only socialy; I also had an idea that she was most likely training to sound more feminine (she experimented herself and learned from other transgender dragons/entertainers - before joining the Scavengers, she traveled a lot).

The history of humans in WoF is truly tragic.
Yes, humans stole dragon eggs and tried to tame dragons before The Scorching. But humans tame animals in our world too, even in cruel ways, does that mean we should all be exterminated? Of course not. But dragons didn't think so and completely destroyed at least one an entire race of humans. Yes, humans in the WoF world used to have more races than just black people. There were literally people who were born with green and blue hair. Or maybe there were more such unique races. But now they are all exterminated. Dragons brought catastrophic destruction not only to an entire intelligent civilization, but to the continent itself, turning part of it into a desert. And then, dragons ignored the intelect of humans and simply mercilessly devoured them, seeing them as animals. Imagine if our Earth was controlled by another species, and we were turned into pets and food. Sounds like a story from All Tomorrows.
