I gave Sonic parents! I decided to make an AU where i try to design parents for some of the cast. SOME NOTES: - I took heavy inspo from the Sonic Manga for Sonic's parents. - I decided to go with Christmas Island as Sonic's birthplace. His mom, Carol, grew up on Christmas Island while his dad, Mac, traveled over to Christmas Island from the mainland on the Tornado! (The Tornado was originally Mac's in this AU. Mac is the Sonic Universe equivelant of an American). - Mac in particular is a mechanic that occupies himself with little projects he never finishes. - There's a symbol on the side of the Tornado's tail which looks like a spring with wings, I had the idea that, in this au, the symbol was put on the Tornado after Mac decided to live with Carol on Christmas Island, the star represents Carol and the wings represent Mac. The Tornado once being the physical embodiment of their shared dream. - After having Sonic they became sedentary and gave up on their dream which was something that frustrated Sonic. Sonic offered to take the Tornado to fulfill his own desire to which they solemnly agreed. Even painting Sonic's name on the plane. - Sonic gets his love for chilli dogs from his dad. - Christmas Island was once considered one of the most beautiful islands until most of it got turned into a scrapyard. Between the trash there are still remnants of Christmas Island's past beauty, these were the places Sonic liked to revisit the most while he still lived on Christmas Island. - Sonic liked to be away from his home for days while he still lived with his parents. Sleeping in makeshift hammocks all across the island. He would often return with scrap for his dad to make something out of. - Sonic nowadays doesn't miss Christmas Island much for the simple reason that he's seen so many more amazing places ever since he left. - Sonic doesn't think about his parents much because he doesn't like to dwell on the past. He's grateful for them being as supportive as they were and for taking care of him for so long. But he still considers leaving Christmas Island as the best thing he could've done for himself.
