Sash Lilac the Dragon vs Spark the Electric Jester. From the Freedom Planet and Spark the Electric Jester games. Indie gaming Sonic inspired speedsters is the connection between these two. Made this via tracing over a running animation sprite for Lilac and a dashing animation for Spark.

yes, you probably already know. and if you want more of that type of game, you should play spark the electric jester 3, developed primarily by lake feperd. you may be familiar with the name from the developer previously working on the sonic before the sequel/sonic after the sequel fangames

ive been a fan of the spark series since the launch date of 1 in april 2017, and the sheer improvement with each of these games just continues to blow me away. spark 3 ended up being my GOTY last year, even over some immaculate games i played like xenoblade 3. i usually recommend the grabbing bundle cuz all three games are direct sequels, but if youre fine with being really lost on the plot, i guess you can play just spark 3

spark 3 also has a demo, you can play it right now. its only on steam at time of writing, but the developer hopes to get it on all major consoles later on

História

A história desse jogo é basicamente essa. O protagonista perdeu seu emprego para um robô e, em um dia qualquer, os robôs decidem se rebelar contra seus criadores. Então Spark decide ir lutar contra os robôs para para-los antes que eles machuquem alguém.

A história é facilmente o pior aspecto desse jogo. Ela tenta ser essa história complexa e épica, mas acaba caindo de cara no chão. A maioria do jogo é só o Spark indo de um nível para o outro batendo em robôs. Só no penúltimo nível que as coisas começam a melhorar, mas 30 minutos depois e o jogo acabou. Em conclusão, a história é bem ruim, mas ela é só uma pequena parte do jogo.

graficamente o jogo usa pixel art em um estilo inspirado nos jogos da era 16 bits. Se você gosta de pixel art vai achar esse jogo lindo, tudo é incrivelmente bem detalhado, não tem absolutamente nada desse jogo que eu possa considerar feio ou desagradavel.

Sonoramente, os efeitos de som são muito bons. Por exemplo, o som dos ataques são muito satisfatórios, e o som quando os inimigos vão atacar é facilmente identificável e me ajudou várias vezes a desviar de ataques.

Agora, as músicas são incrível, elas não só combinam perfeitamente com os níveis, mas também conseguem ser tão boas que eu escutaria elas fora do jogo.

Jogabilidade

A jogabilidade de Spark se resume a chegar ao fim do nível o mais rápido possível, pegando poderes e lutando contra inimigos no meio do caminho.

Spark em sua forma normal pode pular, dar um dash, fazer uma série de ataques consecutivos e dar um ataque carregado. Como mencionado anteriormente pode-se encontrar poderes que te dão novos ataques, mas, só se pode ter apenas 2 poderes. E se pegar mais um poder, um dos 2 que você já tinha vai ser trocado pelo novo poder.

E algumas vezes também podem melhorar sua movimentação, como um dash aéreo ou um pulo duplo.

Quando se ataca um inimigo sem parar, começa a encher uma barrinha, quando essa barra fica cheia, se ganha um novo ataque carregado mais forte.

O dash quando usado na hora certa pode nulificar o dano que seria recebido, isso funciona tanto contra inimigos quanto com obstáculos como espinhos, significando que se usar essa mecânica do jeito certo, pode-se passar rapidamente por lugares que iriam te fazer parar para desviar de obstáculos.

A jogabilidade desse jogo é muito boa, a única crítica que eu faria é que alguns poderes são bem mais poderosos do que outros, o que cria um desequilíbrio, e é muito difícil perder os poderes, significando que pode-se pegar os dois poderes que você gosta mais e nunca tocar em nenhum dos outros poderes.

Conteúdo Extra

Em quesito de conteúdo extra, Spark ainda tem várias coisas para fazer depois de terminar a campanha principal.

Se tem uma nova campanha onde-se joga com outro personagem muito similar ao Spark; um modo Time Attack onde se tenta ganhar um tempo mais rápido nos níveis; também se tem outra campanha onde se joga a campanha do outro personagem com o Spark; tem um modo desafio e também pode-se escolher um modo difícil para as três campanhas.

Concluindo: Spark The Eletric Jester é um ótimo jogo. É perfeito para alguém que quer jogar um jogo de plataforma estilo Sonic.

I legit don't know how to explain it, but the first Fark fight back in Spark TEJ 1 is like one of the biggest peaks of the entire series. For me at least.

The player knows that at some point we're going to fight Fark, it's basically guaranteed from the moment we see/meet him. It's the perfect case of Chekov's Gun. Freom, the final boss of the first game, comes second in priority to both Spark and Us, the Player. We only really care about fighting him after we deal with Fark, the guy who's been getting away from us basically the entire game. So when we get to the end of the final ship in the Megaraph Fleet, and the music stops as the elevator rises towards the boss fight we've been waiting all game for, the tension is at a crescendo, this is the biggest moment in the entire game if not the entire series. So Spark and Fark have one last short exchange, and then the music kicks in as the fight begins.

Everything comes together in that fucking moment, the electric guitar track blasting in your ears, Fark literally bouncing off the walls, the space battle taking place in the background. Chekov's gun has been fired, and it is fucking glorious. Vs Fark has got to be one of the BEST video game soundtracks of all time, Falk Au Yeong knocked it out of the park. I legitimately cannot sit still whenever I listen to it, I have to get up and start shadowboxing and moving around. That's how good it is. I haven't even mentioned that in the second phase Fark literally goes super and blows up the room (maybe even the entire ship?) you two were fighting in.

For me there is no better moment in the entire series aside from his transformation in Spark 3, and even that comes in a close second place compared to Vs Fark in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love the entirety of the series, but that moment in the first game is where it peaked. For now.

If we ever get Spark 4 I'm sure Lake Feperd will blow it out of the water gameplay, story, and soundtrack-wise. The man's got it all down basically perfectly, and I can't wait to see what he does next.

Spark the Electric Jester 3 coming to Switch

Feperd Games and porting house FreakZone Games will release action platformer Spark the Electric Jester 3 for Switch, the companies announced. A release date was not announced.

Spark the Electric Jester 3 first launched for PC via Steam on August 15, 2022.
