finally back to write my thoughts on post-cabin scotty.

i think i've mentioned before that the cabin changes both ash and scott, how scott becomes more cold and less energetic and just overall more like what ash was in the beginning. his impulsivity gets him almost killed, so for once he's learned his lesson and wouldn't take risks as much after the cabin. like of course he's still impulsive, but if something is TOO dangerous he wouldn't do it.

post-cabin scott would have a little bit of a "why did i have to be one of the only ones to survive" thing going on. guilt complex, survivor's guilt, etc. the like. i also like to think that his confidence in himself was kinda ruined with how bad his facial injuries were after going out into the woods. i bet he wouldn't be able to look at himself for the longest time after the incident, because the giant scars on his face are unappealing to him. i feel like he'd also need a cane to walk (seeing as the back of his leg got torn), and feels weird about that too given how disabled people were treated back in the 80's. there's also internalized homophobia, because after the cabin he and ash have become closer, practically inevitable when you go through something that traumatic and one of two only survivors. and it's the 80's.

i think he would get nervous about being outside for too long. not in a way that he avoids going outside, but doesn't go outside alone, or at night if possible. he wouldn't tell anybody about his fears because that's for cowards, in his own words. even with ash, who would understand completely, he wouldn't open up often. he hates feeling vulnerable.

i feel like he'd get softer but meaner at the same time. softer with ash and colder to everyone else. i think he'd learn to appreciate what he has more. he has to check to make sure ash is still alive. i bet he has to convince himself ash isn't a deadite pretending not to be possessing ash.

his hands are weak because of the damage done to them, with one of his wrist-bones literally being out of his body. his right hand doesn't have a lot of mobility because of the surgeries done to get his bone back into place. he feels useless compared to ash, who got them both out of that situation alive.

he resents ash for being a hero. he loves ash for keeping him alive. he's glad it was ash he got out with, because shelly would never treat his reactions to what happened like ash does. he's never going to get over shelly. he misses everyone. he blames himself for what happened because he played that tape.

he is such a character. he is traumatized and hides it but shares sometimes but never wants to willingly open up about it. i love scotty evil dead 1981

thinking about post-cabin scott like can you even fucking imagine the guilt complex hed have that shit would be insane .someone get this guy some mental help over here
