This has already been done, and it's such a funny article, I highly recommend this read:
https://scpwiki.com/scp-5258
While I was going through my old school papers today, I found one of those trick quizzes that high school teachers who think they're terribly clever like to hand out – you know, the ones with a long, complicated series of instructions where the first instruction is "read all instructions in full before following any instruction other than this one", and the final instruction is "disregard all instructions other than first instruction and this one", and you lose a point for each preceding instruction you actually carried out – and now I desperately need to come up with an in-universe rationale for an SCP Foundation containment procedure article to be structured that way.

SCP-5258-The Smoking Ghost
Tumblr media
(SCP-5258 in its corporeal form)
Tumblr media
(SCP-5258 in its spectral form)
Item #: SCP-5258
Object class: safe
Special containment procedures:
SCP-5258 is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment chamber, the only modification being special material kept in the walls so that SCP-5258 can not escape containment in its spectral form. The chamber is to also have daily air circulation to vent out any smoke from SCP-5258′s cigarettes. SCP-5258 is to given three meals a day, of any food of its choosing, and cigarettes when requested.  Description: SCP-5258 resembles an Middle-aged male of American decent, It has dull green hair, dull green stubble, and grayish-tan skin tone, possibly due to its smoking habit when it was alive. It also has been observed to cough a lot, or go into coughing fits, due to its smoking habits. It wears dull green pants, brown boots, a white t-shirt, white fingerless gloves, a black hoodie, and brown cap, which has been noted to cover its eyes. It can usually be seen with a cigarette with a neon green tip. SCP-5258 has the ability to switch from its corporeal form, which resembles what it looked like when it was alive, to its spectral form, which allows it to pass through walls, whenever it so desires. Any food that SCP-5258 consumes while in its corporeal form will transfer over to its spectral form, allowing it to stay within SCP-5258. It is also been noted that SCP-5258 does not require a toilet and does not produce waste, whether it is in either of its forms. All food, once completely digested, turns into spectral energy for SCP-5258 to absorb and use. SCP-5258 has been observed to be very relaxed and cooperative with foundation personnel. It only objects to test that involve the harm of others, especially humans. SCP-5258 has also been observed attempting to have conversations with foundation staff, leading to the site director issuing that any foundation member may talk and converse with SCP- 5258 at least once a week, if they so desire, unless SCP-5258, or the on site director, specifies otherwise.  Addendum 5258.1: Discovery
SCP-5258 was discovered by agent Johnson while on a trip to New York. Agent Johnson had needed to pass though an alleyway when he discovered SCP-5258′s physical body. At first, agent Johnson thought that SCP-5258, who later told foundation staff that’s it’s name is Garcello, had been murdered. Agent Johnson was about to call the local police to report the body when SCP-5258 suddenly appeared in its spectral form, deciding to casually greet agent Johnson. Johnson decided to speak to SCP-5258 to gain more information. Agent Johnson learned that SCP-5258 was a smoker when it was alive, and that the body that agent Johnson had found was theirs. When agent Johnson questioned why SCP-5258 was still there and hadn’t passed on, SCP-5258 explained that it was having a rap battle with someone when it suddenly had a heart attack and died. After having a battle in its spectral form, then one final one after that, SCP-5258′s form faded, and it had expected to move on. But, about half an hour later, SCP-5258 suddenly reappeared. It suspects that it has to experience the world more before it can move on, but that’s just a it’s guess, has it is not actually sure. After SCP-5258 displayed its ability to switch from its corporeal form to its spectral form and back, Agent Johnson proceeded to contact the foundation. Surprisingly, SCP-5258 did not resist being brought to the foundation, stating that ‘‘maybe this was the life experience it needed to move on”.
The following interview was conducted by Dr. George Hutson after it was first brought to the foundation.
Interviewer: Dr. George Hutson, Site- 17
Inerviewee: SCP-5258 (in corporeal form)
[BEGIN LOG]
SCP-5258: hey, how are you?
Dr George Hutson: I’m fine, 5258. My name Dr. George Hutson, and I will be conducting your interview.
SCP-5258: alright then, but you could just call me Garcello.
Dr. George Hutson: is that your name?
SCP-5258: mhm
Dr. George Hutson: well alright then, garcello. Are you ready to start the interview?
SCP-5258: sure
Dr. George Hutson: ok, first question, what did you do while you were alive?
(SCP-5258 proceeds to look down in a sad manner)
Dr. George Hutson: is something wrong, garcello?
(SCP-5258 raises its head)
SCP-5258: nah, just reminded me of something.
Dr. George Hutson: what?
SCP-5258: it’s just, back when I was alive, I really wanted to be a singer. Not some big time star, just something casual and cool, ya know?
Dr. George Hutson: I see. And what happened to that dream? Did you give up?
SCP-5258: no, actually, I had few small gigs and actually wasn’t doing so bad for myself. Sure I wasn’t well known or popular, but I did have a few fans. Even though it was more of a hobby/ side gig to my retail job, it was nice. But...
Dr. George Hutson: But?
SCP-5258: I ended meeting some big time rockstar, who called himself ‘‘daddy dearest”. He was apparently super popular and had a lot of money and fans. He also apparently didn’t like that I was gaining popularity. He ended up using his money and fame to trash my carrier, even when I begged to him that it was just a hobby/ side gig. I was just so sad and confused. What did I do wrong? I didn’t even really know him, for crying out loud! I lost my love for music that day, got depressed, and started smoking. Ended up getting addicted to cigarettes. Didn’t really care, still cared about others though, like I always have.
Dr. George Hutson: I’m sorry you had to go though that garcello.
SCP-5258: it’s alright. It wasn’t your fault.
Dr. George Hutson: do you feel comfortable continuing the story?
SCP-5258: yeah, I am. Anyways, I was standing around in the alleyway I was in before I came here, like I did every Friday, when a kid and his girlfriend suddenly approached me. I was a little sad and slightly not ok, so I offered them a cigarette, which they declined. I ended up doing two rap battles with the kid before I kicked the bucket. Died of a heart attack. Guess my lungs and heart just couldn’t take it, and I just pushed myself a bit too far. Wasn’t that sad about it though, I was just glad it was me and not them. Like I told that agent, I expected to move on when I had that last song with the kid, but didn’t. I appeared half an hour later to an empty alley, the only thing in it being my dead body. Now that I think about it, I wonder what those two were planning?
Dr. George Hutson: what do you mean?
SCP-5258: I mean, did they go to get someone to help and it was just taking a while, or did they really just leave my dead body there for anyone to stumble upon? Guess I’ll never know now, or ever see them again. Maybe it’s for the better though, they got their own lives and problems, I don’t wanna add more on. Actually now that think about it, you guys have my body, what are you gonna do with it?
Dr. George Hutson: we’re going to give you a proper burial in your hometown. That’s why we asked you earlier.
SCP-5258: thank you, doc, that means a lot. Really.
Dr. George Hutson: your welcome. Well, thank you for sharing your story, garcello. I think that will conclude our interview. Thank you for being cooperative.
SCP-5258: well thank you for being willing to listen and not treating my body like rotten meat.
Dr. George Hutson: Of course.
Interviewers Note: SCP-5258 is surprisingly calm. It was also not smoking during this interview, as it was not allowed to.
Addendum 5258.2: Observation log
While in containment at site-17, SCP- 5258 has been observed walking, or floating when in its spectral form, around it’s containment unit at random times, occasionally singing or humming it’s own original songs, or songs that it likes. It has also been observed to have casual conversations with foundation staff that pass its containment unit, or even singing to or with them if they ask nicely. Examples of conversations include talking about how life was going, how the weather was, or any problems either of them might be facing.
The following is a log if SCP-5258 first interaction with a D-Class subject.
Observational Log 5258.OL.1 SUMMARY
Subject: SCP-5258 (in corporeal form)
Preface: a test subject (D-95528) was told to try and start a conversation with SCP-5258. The D class appeared nervous.
Observation Notes: SCP-5258 introduced itself to the D class as garcello, then asked for the D-classes name. D-95528 complied with SCP-5258s request.
After a while, it was noted that D-95528 had calmed down considerably, and was now casually conversing with SCP-5258 about everyday topics.
When SCP-5258 showed D-95528 its spectral form, because the D class had asked if SCP-5258s abilities were true, D-95528 entered a panicked state, stating that it though it was all just a joke.
Foundation guards came to retrieve D-95528 from SCP-5258′s containment unit. SCP-5258 proceeded to express mild sadness, but also explained that it wasn’t exactly surprised either.

Have you been informed of the fact that some people think you look like Dr. Kondraki?
Who? Sorry bud, but I’ve never heard of him, at least not yet. I guess if people think I look like them, then we must look pretty similar. Seems cool either way.

*I'd suddenly fall through the roof of Scp 5258's containment room, though when I hit the floor, no sound was made*
Tumblr media
*I'd quickly stand up, brushing non-existant dust from my tuxedo (when did I get one of those?!) grumbling about something not working and how I was an idiot. Though I didn't seem to notice 5258's presence in the room*
((ooc, sorry for the rushed art 😅 I hope it's okay))
Garcello looked over in worry and confusion, mostly confusion.
”uh, you ok there?”

““Eh, that’s fine. Took me a while to remember mine too.”
He sat down next to them.
““so, how’d you get here?”
*one of the scientists threw me in a cell and what’s going to happen* AY WHATS THE BIG IDEA?! GEES YOU PEOPLE SURE DO LIKE THROWING ME ARO-?! JESUS!!
Garcello was wandering the facility, as he was occasionally allowed to do, when he heard the yelling. He turned into his spectral form and floated into the containment chamber, not expecting the person inside to yell. He backed up a bit and returned to his corporeal form. ““oh, hey, you must be new.”

*Simon stands up with what legs, who knows!* Gaurd: SCP-88392 stand down and go back to your cell! Why? You've frozen this room, we have to defreeze it which will take a few days in the meantime we will have to find a new containment cell for SCP-5258. Oh, alright! -Simon and guards
”new room? Huh, ok. Let’s hope it like this one.”

I decided to make another ask blog! https://ask-scp-5258-the-smoking-ghost.tumblr.com
Note: @ask-blue-sunstone, @a-fluttering-flame, and @burning-heart-au are all still up and running, and will continue to be. I just got really into garcello and scps.  ‘I might do rp, but only with scp characters, or characters you have as an scp. This isn’t certain though, so please be patient, don’t send rp starters in, and don’t get your hops up
Another note: garcello doesn’t belong to me! He belongs to atsuover! Go check out their stuff it’s really cool!

Garcello noticed their fear.
““hey, it’s ok. I’m not gonna hurt you.”
He moved a tiny bit closer, giving a small wave.
““names SCP-5258, the smoking ghost, at least, that’s just what they call me here.”
He reached out his hand for a handshake.
““but you can just call me garcello.”
