Last pictures for the March of Robots challenge. I wanted to draw a Transformers Rise version of Megatron and my loyal Decepticon OC, AirClaw, aka Scraz. Also, yes, I put Megatron's cannon on his back. He can remove it and clip it to his arm to use as a weapon. BTW, the lyrics at the top are from Lil Nax X's song HotBox on YouTube.

screw that. high and dry is literally VII: 2 Stoke Me A Clipper. it is literally Rimmer as Ace.

Here’s Why:

“two jumps in a week” could be referring to two time jumps in a week. after Rimmer becomes Ace and starts travelling across space time, of course he’s gonna “think that’s pretty clever”.

“flying on your motorcycle” … THE EPISODE LITERALLY STARTS WITH ACE FLYING ON A MOTORCYCLE!!

“you’d kill yourself for recognition / you’d kill yourself to never, ever stop”. every Ace Rimmer is destined to die and pass on that baton of being Ace. every Ace who takes on the job is aware of this, because presumably they’ve all seen the graveyard with the billions of previous Ace Rimmers. they willingly “killed” themselves to be Ace, to have that recognition and to never break the chain (as Lister said - “are you really gonna be the one to break the chain?”)

“you’re turning into something you are not”. when Rimmer becomes Ace, he thinks he can’t do it. he thinks it’s not him, that’s he’s a cowardly weasel that can’t do it. even when he first met Ace, he refused to believe that it was him because they were so different.

“drying up in conversation / you will be the one who cannot talk”. Rimmer struggles with being Ace on Starbug, both with the Ace voice and with how to act and what to say. he “dries up” in conversation in a very not Ace way.

“all your insides fall to pieces / you just sit there wishing you could still make love”. This could be Ace as he dies, his light bee (“insides”) is broken and “fall[ing] to pieces”. he just sits there, dying, wishing he was still alive and, as is Ace, that he could “still make love”. OR This could be about Rimmer when he originally died and came back as a (soft light) Hologram. his insides (emotions) “fall to pieces” as he wish he could still touch, “still make love”. (i don’t have the exact quote, but we know he says all this in the first episode of the show).

This whole bit could be Rimmer’s fears about becoming Ace and having to save people. perhaps he’s worried that they’ll despise him, that he’ll come across as pompous and full of bravado like he believes Ace is and that people will hate him. Or perhaps he’s worried about the rest of Starbug hating him upon his return…

Being Ace is possibly the best thing that’s ever happened to Rimmer, he’s finally the competent and praise worthy hero that he’s always dreamed of being. However, as is the standard with Ace, he loses this title and dies / just stops being Ace. “The best thing that you have is gone away”.

the phrase “done leave me high and dry” is an idiom meaning “don’t leave me in a difficult situation without any help”. This is Ace talking to Rimmer and trying to pass on the torch as he’s dying. he doesn’t want Rimmer to leave him “high and dry”. He doesn’t want Rimmer to break the chain.
