Please reblog
Australian KOSA is occurring right now
They are banning anyone under the age of sixteen from almost all media sites, including YouTube now.
They are including sites they promised they wouldn’t include
They are using inaccurate face scanning tech that does not accurately know your age
The other option is using government IDs
Neither is wanted.
PAY ATTENTION TO THIS RIGHT NOW. PLEASE JUST FOR A MOMENT

"Aro/Ace person gets given a love potion" story but instead of them being immune or whatever, it DOES work, and they realize IMMEDIATELY that they've been fed a love potion because this feeling is so wrong and foreign but everyone keeps laughing off the idea of it being a love potion because "they were probably just a late bloomer" or "no, you just finally found the right person!" and it's just a horror story about how no one believes them even though they know, they KNOW this isn't right and they can't stand it.

Today I was chatting with two guys and mentioned I was aroace. It went a little something like this.
A: wtf is that
B: it means she’s not attracted to people in that way
A: bro you can’t just not pick a side, that’s crazy
B: nah, it just means she’s spectator mode
A: OHHH IT MAKES SENSE NOW
I have never felt more validated or laughed so hard

The best way I can describe to an allo person how you feel about sex as a topic as a sex-repulsed or averse asexual is that it feels like a hype that never ends. As though Despicable Me came out and everyone around you was sending minion facebook memes to each other for years to come. The stores are full of minion themed products; they're in ads and your friends talk about them all the time. And deep in your heart you're like "I'm glad that they're able to enjoy something I personally don't like and am not interested in :3". But there is always this little voice in the back of your head that's like "If I have to see ONE MORE of these little yellow FUCKERS today then God help us all." You make an active choice to communicate only the former.

Being bigender and aroace is funny because it's like. Everyone wants me but no one can have me.
Being demisexual and bi is funny to me. Anyone can hit it but you must suffer The Gauntlet first

Need to post more aroallo / aroace solidarity (as well as aros who have sex / aros who don't have sex solidarity), so for starters: when society both obligates and demonizes sex, romance is framed as the only way to make up for having or for not having sex. If you want sex, society tells you that it better be in the context of a romantic relationship, otherwise it's shameful and deviant — but if you don't like or want sex, then you've probably been bombarded with rhetoric like "but you can still love, right? you're still human because you can love your partner, right?"
(And that's not even getting into how some a-spec spaces commit the fallacy of expecting aros to make up for their aromanticism with platonic love. Aroaces just have to love their friends to make up for their "lack," while aroallos just have to platonically love their partners to "justify" the act of sex when romance can't.)
Of course, romantic love doesn't actually make asexuality or sex-repulsion more palatable to the acephobic forces of cultural hegemony. Nor does it make queer / kinky / non-monogamous sex more palatable to the sex-negative forces of cultural hegemony. (Same for platonic love not making aros in general more palatable.) But damn, it really goes to show how amatonormativity hangs over aromantics, regardless of sexual orientation or sexual activity.
