My favorite datura has sprung back to life after a few days of rain and she’s full of flowers and buds. I’m making a scrying ink today and when I looked out the window this morning and saw her in otherworldly blossom, I thought datura flowers would make an interesting addition to the scrying ink. The scrying ink is for the Beloved Dead ancestral ritual kits that are coming at the end of September. I’m thinking of all the ways a scrying ink can be used and one of my ideas is to make a sort of divinatory Rorschach by dropping ink onto watercolor paper and gently blowing it or tilting it until you have an image. The deck was created by the same artist who created The Linestrider Tarot Deck - my current favorite Tarot deck. The images are beautiful. Of course my first reading with the cards reflects my Tarot reading yesterday involving The Tower. 😂 ✂️🏔✝

The 3 card mystery spread is one of my favorite ‘quick’ read draws using a Lenormand deck. 

the Lenormand 3 card Mystery Spread

in which you:

1. Shuffle the deck and choose three random cards.

2. Place the cards in a pyramid shape and turn over the bottom two. These two cards will give you a phrase.

3. Read the ‘phrase’ that the lower cards give you. For example here The Bear and Fish are both cards which speak of personal finances, making money, business transactions and commerce.

4. Lastly, turn over the ‘mystery’ card which completes the sentence. It will read:  ___ is the key to ____  & ____. In this case: Travel is your key to personal wealth and success in business.

I’ve found that a nine card spread with a Lenormand deck can give some great, straightforward answers. I like to use a significator card, that middle card in the spread that the querent chooses to represent their situation. I used the fish in this example because I was thinking about business and financial stuff. 

Fish + Stork(in future placement): new business opportunities will soon arrive

Mountain + Fish + Garden (in the present): you have some work challenges to deal with right now and your work has a very social aspect to it.

When I pulled the Letter card in my daily draw today I thought it was a little odd, does the mailman even deliver on Independence Day?
