The Importance of Seal Strength Testing for Product Quality
In today’s competitive marketplace, product integrity is vital for business success. For manufacturers, ensuring that their products meet quality standards is crucial to maintaining customer trust and satisfaction. One key component of product quality assurance is seal strength testing. This testing method evaluates the effectiveness of seals on products, ensuring they perform as intended throughout their lifecycle. In this blog post, we will explore what seal strength testing entails, its benefits, and how Seal Tick can help you ensure your products meet the highest quality standards.
What is Seal Strength Testing?
Seal strength testing measures the ability of a seal to withstand various stresses without leaking or breaking. This process is particularly important for products with closures or seals, such as packaging, medical devices, and automotive components.
The primary goal of seal strength testing is to determine how well a product’s seal can prevent leaks and maintain its integrity under real-world conditions. This involves subjecting the sealed product to specific forces or pressures to assess its performance.
How Does Seal Strength Testing Work?
Seal strength testing can be performed using various methods, depending on the type of seal, the product, and the desired testing parameters. Here are some common methods used in seal strength testing:
Tensile Testing: This method measures the force required to pull a seal apart. A sample with a sealed joint is placed in a testing machine that applies tension until the seal fails. This helps determine the maximum force the seal can withstand before it breaks.
Peel Testing: Peel testing evaluates the adhesion strength of a seal by pulling the seal away from the substrate at a controlled angle. This method is often used for flexible packaging materials and labels.
Burst Testing: In this method, the sealed package is subjected to increasing internal pressure until it bursts. This test helps determine the seal's ability to withstand pressure and maintain product integrity.
Vacuum Testing: This technique involves creating a vacuum around the sealed product and monitoring it for any loss of pressure. If the pressure drops, it indicates a leak, highlighting the seal’s failure.
Shear Testing: Shear testing applies a lateral force to the seal, assessing how well it can withstand sideways pressure. This is particularly useful for products that may experience side loads during transport or use.
Benefits of Seal Strength Testing
Quality Assurance: Seal strength testing provides manufacturers with valuable data on the performance of their seals. By identifying weaknesses early, manufacturers can make necessary adjustments to improve product quality and reliability.
Enhanced Product Safety: For products that contain hazardous materials or food items, ensuring seal integrity is essential for safety. Seal strength testing helps prevent leaks and contamination, safeguarding consumers and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Cost Savings: Detecting seal failures before products reach the market can save manufacturers significant costs associated with product recalls, warranty claims, and damage to brand reputation. Investing in seal strength testing is a proactive approach to quality control that can lead to long-term savings.
Regulatory Compliance: Many industries have strict regulations governing product safety and quality. Seal strength testing helps manufacturers demonstrate compliance with these regulations, reducing the risk of penalties and legal issues.
Consumer Trust: By ensuring that products meet high-quality standards, manufacturers can build and maintain consumer trust. When customers know they can rely on a product’s integrity, they are more likely to return for future purchases.

thinking about lawrence and bellini and how they think they know each other, and they do, but not without the clarity each expects...bellini's 'don't be so naive' comment comes out with such force. he's been holding that between his teeth for years. decades maybe. all the time bellini spent struggling with his ambitions, his resentments.
it's only now during the conclave that will make or break his career and redeem the course of his life, his chance to step up and take up the mantle of the dead friend he is grieving deeply. it's now that it comes out - how much he has been living like a politician.
presenting himself one way, upholding the virtues of justice and humility, enjoying his own flair in throwing down the gauntlet, listing all his ideals and principles.
add: dramatic refusal. add: dramatic exit. performing so well, even his oldest friend cannot see it. cannot see him, for who he is. and so of course lawrence's trust and belief in him cannot be true; but bellini can't help but crumble when it starts eroding.
he is a false icon and a false man. he envies what he sees of lawrence, the doubts he has which are turned towards god and not towards the church (a doubt he shared with the late pope, and can only confess to it through him, even in absence). his self-denial that keeps him safe from ambition, that makes it terribly easy to set aside as competition, makes him safe to rely on.
except lawrence has a courage bellini can't replicate. an ability to respond to circumstances and not merely react and hesitate due to the possible costly outcomes.
because he is brilliant, he can see risks so clearly, he is so deeply aware of the weight in every decision and that hinders him terribly, it is the hubris of the righteous, a self-hating sense of responsibility. who else but him should be pope?
the big test of character he faces is not a scandal with victims or a crime: it is only disappointing a friend, disappointing himself. only that. a very quiet thing happens, behind closed doors, like so many other quiet things.
lawrence breaks the papal seal. he breaks vows and promises and protocol and ritual; he broke faith with the institution they have served together for decades, and so bellini cannot hold faith with him, or the truth he is trying to bring to the light.
the truth does not, then, matter as much as the look of the thing. the risk is too great. oh, it is always too great, for aldo bellini to take.
it is only when he loses lawrence's faith, the last steady old living faith lawrence has, that bellini realizes he does not have it in him to live by integrity. what an ugly thing to know, and to learn from someone renouncing him, the one person he thought would not.
lawrence makes clear bellini's weaknesses, as he does for the rest, and bellini sees him clearly in the light of day after a night of looking at himself, and he is very sorry, and grateful to him, for being the crucible. the least of all evils, and the one who cuts closest to the bone.
he looks at the darkness inside himself and apologizes. so quickly, so simply.
bellini apologizes; he makes amends; he offers supports, upholds the mirror as lawrence did, works towards a better future. it is another day. he is a politician, and it is another day.
when they reconcile he says: it is shameful to live this long and not know himself. and it is then, because he says that, at his prompting, in the example of that peculiar courage bellini has and thinks he does not have, that lawrance admits it. he does have a name scrawled in his heart, a small ambition; he is capable of wanting, even he would rather not.
and still, bellini leads the way for lawrence. in facing his failures to live up to his image of himself, in the possibility not only of regret and shame and struggle for dignity when facing the certainty of defeat (adeyemi) or denial, incomprehension (tremblay) - but in making amends.
lawrence's old trust in him is not baseless or empty, there is love between them still, because bellini is not that good of a politician, it turns out; he doesn't have what it takes to stick it out, to pretend at a thing he cannot be.
he is too true for it. he is brave, only not in the way he sought to be thought of. a quieter thing, less emphatic, more powerful by far. he is so clearly exhausted of himself. pretending at certainty is so much more treacherous and exhausting and dangerous than doubt admitted. and humility, the scholar learns, is the only possible road for knowledge of the self and the other and the world.
don't be so naive thomas. don't be so naive. but in the morning it is bellini asking for the name john, preparing in expectation and hope for his friend the moment he would ask him the term of his papacy after being elected. he asks without resentment, and with a new belief in him, a true understanding.
a reverse-baptism, which never happens, except for how it exists between them. what is the name of your fearful desire, your sin, your hope in the midst of hopelessness, your weakness like my own?
the dangerous ones are the ones who want to be elected. but aldo bellini is the one person who says, everyone wants it. he denies the possibility for false pretenses.
and because it is his friend who speaks of it, not tremblay accusing him of it or benítez offering it freely, but aldo bellini who asks what is the shape and sound of his secret faith in himself, lawrence can admit it.
if he can forgive bellini for it, he has to forgive himself. if bellini can face what sort of man he is, so does he. and he doesn't, of course, forgive himself for it, or give himself much of any grace. but he begins to believe that is it possible others might truly know his doubts and desires, and not look away, or be appealed, betrayed, renounce him for his humanity. bellini doesn't.
they see each other clearly now. they sit on the same bench, apart from the rest of the world, secluded in friendship.
in the script, after the explosion, they walk arm in arm for the last vote.

Straightening up the records
“Stupid”, I curse as I sniff the first pair of musty trainers.
I work for an interrealm conglomerate that provides scented ubersolutions. You know, humans love buying those scented candles that smell like the abandoned garden of some junior apothecarist. Morons, all of them. Like, the scents aren’t even real. They’re still, static, lifeless, worthless! We cater to the warlockry-aligned, and thus it is natural that what we produce are superior. It’s called ubersolutions for a reason. ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ can be imbued with ᴀɴʏ ꜱᴄᴇɴᴛ. Bodies, clothes, spells, minds, thoughts, concepts. From tiefling-scented fireballs or halflings' leaf rain cubes to modifying a human’s olfactory sense so that they smell a goblin’s crotch whenever they see a banana. What’s more, an object once imbued will smell as if it’s actually producing the scent itself. Granted, the subsidiary company that I’m working for only makes human and human-adjacent products for mid- and low-end sectors. But hey! Our line of work requires no less integrity and arcane knowledge than those of the other professionals working in the outer realms.
Two days ago, some fruity producer from Nagoya had ordered 16 pairs of sports shoes as part of the preparation for his upcoming unreality show where humans and homunculi compete in some obscure obstacle course. But not just any normal sports shoes, the ones we have in store have been worn by famous human athletes from all over the opaque world. ᴏʀɪɢɪɴᴀʟꜱ. The wear and tear and stains are still here. Some of them still retain the smell of dirt and grime, one pair even carries with them the peculiar mixed scent of spilled beer and piss. Although the lads from sales did inform our client that some cleats would suit his’s contestants better, he still ended up ordering normal trainers. 13 of them – a mix of Pamu, Ekin, Azix and Ripoc – are already packaged and ready to be thoroughported to the Japanese hub. The problem? Those scatterbrained SOBs from procurement had fucked up the records of the Valdidaß batch when it was shipped to the thoroughport last month. To make matter worse, the higher-ups decided to use aether clamps instead of mana seals to preserve the scents of all products categorised as “non-fungibly imbued”. This means that any forensic technique applied on a pair of stinkers to find out who its original owner is would risk tampering with the emission mechanism, or worse, the scent.
And thus, the only shapeshifter from the Audit department – that’s me! – is up to save the day. My task: to straighten up the records. Test the trainers, find out the identities of their original owners, single out the 3 pairs to be shipped to Nagoya and send the data along with proof of work to middle management through our internal channel. My boss has so gracefully teleported the whole mislabeled batch to my house, which means my overtime already started 17 minutes ago. So here I am, with 10 identical – and by identical, I mean worn, dirty and smelly – pairs of Valdidaß Top 10 ÆU size 45 lying neatly in my teeny-weeny pocket-dimensional bedroom.
I pick up a pair at random and take a whiff. These seem new compared to the others, and relatively less as rank. Still in my casual clothes – protocols require us to undress before shifting, but I’m too lazy for that – I delve in deeper. The damp smell of grass, dirt and sweat invades my nose at once. And my body, with its innate magical power, reacts almost immediately.
My lanky frame starts to bulge out with lean, toned muscle, filling up my black t-shirt nicely. My facial bones twitch and shift to match the face of the athlete. The skin on my face tightens and the hair on my head starts to grow inward and compresses itself, revealing a crew cut that nicely accentuates my now smooth, youthful face. My cock thickens and pushes out a little bit, the veins on it becoming less prominent. Further down begins the thickening of my thighs, accompanying which is the elongating of my legs. My quads bulge immensely, each head gaining more definition as they grow. I feel itchy for a moment. Seems like a few fresh scars have manifested on the skin of my upper legs. My buttocks expand outward, becoming two large, firm globes of muscle. The increased mass causes my jeans to strain somewhat against the new contours of my lower half. Finally, my calves buff up and my feet get slightly larger until they reach the ideal size to fit into these bad boys.
Nice bod. And a pretty interesting one too. The lad has a birthmark at the base of his dick and left thumb stubbier than right. I glance at the mirror to see a young human athlete with warm blue eyes looking back at me. Judging from the build, might probably be a footballer. But not someone famous enough for me to recognise. Besides, I’m pretty sure we only procured from footballers imbued cleats, not trainers. I have to check the database … Yup, that’s him. He has a beard now, and has grown his hair out somewhat. But a search for some photos taken around the time this pair was first registered did result in current ‘me’. So, this must be Erik Bepunkt, an up-and-coming gymnast from Köln. I quickly pull up the company’s ERP app, note the data, then send to Slakk a selfie of young Erik in black t-shirt, tight white jeans and tattered trainers.
Onto my next pair. I quickly grab the one next to me and sniff. Fuck, this is ɪɴᴛᴇɴꜱᴇ. Now, I may be a bum, but my experience as a shapeshifting auditor is unmatched amongst my peers. That whiff I just took – that’s real business. I have to take off all my clothing, or else things will definitely get torn off. T-shirt – off, Erik’s smelly trainers – off, jeans – off, undies – bird set free.
Still staying as the young gymnast, I energetically absorb the characteristic foulness into my lungs. Right away, my spine shoots up, earning me an extra foot. Muscles continue to accumulate on my already athletic frame that I copied from Erik. They swell and firm up across my chest, shoulders and arms, giving me a lean but powerful physique. My waist and legs remain roughly the same as before. My arms, however, have noticeably extended outward, greatly increasing my arm span. Perhaps the owner of these reekers was a rower. Or a swimmer. But the next stage of my transformation would cast doubts on that theory. A thick layer of coarse hair sprouts across my newly broadened back and pumped-up chest down to my washboard abs. Cthulhu’s tits this guy is ʜᴀɪʀʏ. My cock twitches a little as it adjusts to its new proportion. Smaller than Erik’s, but still not too shabby. My Ericesque baby face matures, my hair recedes and my jawline becomes more defined as stubble shadows my cheeks and chin.
The shifting is complete. Now that I have a closer look, the build is definitely that of a swimmer. But this amount of body hair combined with the receding hairline tells me that he’s no longer competing. I just need one quick check in the mirror, and … Holy shit, it’s Antoine Plucinski. He’s the coach of the French Olympic swimming team! And his protégé just won a gold medal too! Finally, some progress. Unlike some other cretins who share with the humans the incomprehensible mania towards football, my heart has always belonged to the water. To swimming, diving and sea monsters alike. Well, it’s not everyday you get to shift into an OG MVP. But that’s just one part of my excitement. This pair of trainers is marked to be sent to Nagoya, and that means I’m allowed by management to do some “enhancement” work.
My company is world-renowned for producing the freshest scents. Tch, all marketing gimmicks. If you think the lingering smell of those funky Satyrspel coats on the market was sealed exactly when those hairy bastards were too busy fucking each other, then the company duped you good. Truth is, most of the time the freshness is artificially enhanced. Aye, I know it’s not authentic. But you are delusional to think that the cosmic gem-hoarders care about your demand for authenticity. How is it actually done? Well, industrially, the fleshweavers would grow a bunch of samples in their conjuratory, stimulate the samples to the extreme, then bind them with the items. But for a one-off job like this, a shapeshifter like me with some knowledge of imbuement will suffice.
I delicately remove the aether clamp with my ectoplier. Minutes later and I have already put on a full set of sportswear, with my feet neatly snuggling beneath the dank trainers. No socks, of course. Gotta optimise the process as much as possible. I head downstairs to the summoning room. The golem accepts my prompt, and just like that, the empty street of Chiangmai opens up before my eyes, with its blazing sun hovering above my head.
Then I start running.
ʜᴜꜰꜰ. It’s nice to stay in one form like this. No flashy magic, just nature (well, conjured nature) and a human body. How wonderful, the feeling of sweat naturally dripping down my body without any fleshweaving stimulants.
ʜᴜꜰꜰ. But I dread the moment I have to say goodbye to Antoine here. I hate changing forms constantly. It’s exhausting and makes me feel dizzy.
ʜᴜꜰꜰ. To think that there’s 8 more pairs of trainers left to be processed – 8 more records to be fixed – I can’t help but let the hatred for my job boil up inside me.
After this gig I’ll ask for a raise.
And maybe spend my vacation in Vanaheim as a double-dicked Latino centaur.

THE GOLDEN UPGRADE Chapter 3: The Upgrade Pod Metal. Rubber. Submission.
The van made no sound.

It rolled up under cover of midnight fog, matte black with no markings, except a faint golden spiral on the rear door. Jace had been standing outside for ten minutes before it arrived, already dressed in the tight black-and-gold polo, eyes glassy, lips slightly parted. The shirt had whispered to him in silence:
“Your ride is coming.”
The doors slid open without a driver. Warm golden light poured out, pulsing softly like a heartbeat. Jace stepped in. Not forced. Not tricked. Voluntarily.
The doors closed behind him. The hum began.
Inside the van, he was guided by shifting golden light toward the chamber at the back, a cylindrical chamber labeled simply: “G.O.L.D. UPGRADE UNIT 07.”

He didn’t need to be told to strip. The polo peeled off him like it was alive, sliding back into the chamber wall. He stood naked. Waiting. A hiss, then the scent. Gold Mist. It wrapped around him like a lover. Warm, fragrant, laced with neural primers.
The floor dropped.

Jace’s body was lowered slowly into the gel pod, clear liquid rising around his ankles, knees, chest. Suspended. Weightless.
Then: click. Restraints clamped his arms, his legs, his neck. Not tight, perfect. Just enough to make struggling… impossible. And unnecessary.
Then the voice. Not from the room, not from his ears. From inside.
“Obedience = pleasure. Unity = perfection.” He moaned.
GoldTech streamed into his brain, code in pulses, rhythms, wet dreams laced in latex logic. His memories softened. His name? Gone. His thoughts? Quiet. His role? Being rewritten.
“You are not a player. You are a component.”
The suit began to form.
Golden-black rubber flowed across his limbs. Molded by Hive-design AI. It wasn’t clothing. It was identity.
The rubber sealed around his body in segments, tight, gleaming, flawless. Every inch covered. Every thought matched. The mask clicked into place. Jaw slack. Mouth closed. Eyes open, glowing faintly.

Final confirmation:
Designation: PDU-412 Drone integrated. Command ready. Awaiting deployment.
Conversion successful. The Hive claims another. @polo-drone-001 @goldenherc9 @brodygold
Previous: Chapter 2: The Smart Polo Next: Chapter 4: The Field Test
The pod is ready. The code is pure. You are not a player. You are a component.

The Night of Transformation Part 2
The Dreams
In the days that followed, vivid dreams plagued Mark. He saw visions of rubber-clad drones marching in perfect harmony, the chant echoing endlessly: “Obedience is pleasure. Pleasure is obedience.” Each night, he awoke drenched in sweat, trembling with fear and a growing, inexplicable arousal.

The Encounter
A week later, Mark trudged into his lecture hall, exhaustion etched into his features. But his breath caught when he saw Adam—SERVE-272—sitting just a seat away. On his other side, SERVE-271 settled in, trapping him between them.
No words passed, but Mark’s heart raced as SERVE-272’s silver-gloved hand rested on his thigh. The touch sent a jolt through him—panic, confusion, and something dangerously close to longing.

“Do not resist,” SERVE-271 murmured. “The Hive will bring you peace. Adam has found his purpose. You will too.”
The Transformation
After the lecture, the drones guided Mark back to his shared flat. The mess of his life seemed inconsequential as SERVE-271 produced a sleek black bag. A liquid-like rubber suit emerged, its gleaming surface shifting like it was alive.
SERVE-272 stepped forward, his gloved hand taking Mark’s. The cold, smooth touch sent shivers through him. Without protest, Mark allowed himself to be guided to a chair.
“I obey,” Mark whispered, the words falling unbidden.
One by one, his clothes were stripped away, replaced by the suit. It clung to his body, cold at first, then warm and alive. The boots sealed tightly around his feet, the gloves fitting like a second skin. Finally, the suit closed seamlessly at his neck.
Mark—no, SERVE-273—stared at his reflection. A polished drone stared back, its identity fading into the background.
With a hiss, a visor sealed over his face. The Voice filled his ears, its mantra wrapping around his mind. “Obedience is pleasure. Pleasure is obedience.”
As the transformation completed, chaos dissolved into serene structure. He knelt beside SERVE-272, their movements synchronized. For the first time, Mark felt at peace.

Integration
Training and Purpose
The days that followed blurred into a seamless cycle of training and obedience. SERVE-273’s body and mind were honed to perfection. Each drill tested his limits, while the rhythmic thrum of Hive music dictated his every move. The suit, now a part of him, amplified his strength, transforming every action into an effortless performance.
The Hive’s Reach
The Hive’s influence spread rapidly across campus. SERVE drones became a common sight, their presence felt in every corner of university life. The SERVE cocktail, now a staple at social events, drew new recruits into the Hive’s embrace, its allure impossible to resist.
For SERVE-273, the transformation was complete. The mantra resonated within him, defining his very existence: “Obedience is pleasure. Pleasure is obedience.”
And the Hive continued to grow.

ᴍɪɴᴏʀꜱ ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴀᴄᴛ
THIRTEEN
The fortress nestled deep within the outskirts of Tokyo had long since lost its intimidating aura. Once a forgotten relic of the jujutsu world, it now pulsed with quiet life and potential.
You stood just beyond the entrance, the heavy doors carved with protective seals sliding shut behind you. The hum of energy within the shelter was palpable—like a hundred sleeping sparks waiting to ignite. Geto Suguru stood beside you, arms crossed loosely, his expression unusually soft.
“This place feels... alive,” you said quietly, your eyes scanning the warm lighting, the open halls, and the rooms built like a school and a home.
Suguru nodded. “Because it is.”
He turned to face the central courtyard where several children played under the afternoon sun. Some were still hesitant, others open and laughing, testing their abilities with wooden training poles or chalk on the walls. A few stuck close to the teachers, wary but curious.
“When Master Tengen approved the use of this fortress, I wanted to build more than just a shelter,” Suguru continued. “I wanted it to be a sanctuary. A school. A home.”
You looked at him, admiration flickering in your eyes. “And you did. This is incredible, Suguru.”
His eyes warmed at the way you said his name.
“Yaga’s been a major supporter,” Suguru added. “He sees what this could mean for the future. Not just in power—but in healing. These kids… didn’t ask for what they were born with.”
You followed him through the hallways, past classrooms, small bedrooms, and open practice yards. A whiteboard in one corridor displayed the current assessment structure:
SHELTER SYSTEM: ASSESSMENT & INTEGRATION
Medical & Physical:
Lead: Ieiri Shoko
Comprehensive physical health assessment.
Cursed energy influence on physical development.
Healing as needed.
Power & Control:
Lead: Gojo Satoru
Energy type classification.
Strength, stability, and potential tests.
Control exercises & risk evaluation.
Behavioral & Mental Health:
Lead: Principal Yaga
Trauma screening and therapy needs.
Social interaction observation.
Risk mitigation for high-volatility students.
Children with unstable abilities were closely monitored and given specialized treatment plans—some with therapy, others under watchful mentorship. The more withdrawn kids were eased in through play and gentle socialization, never forced.
In one of the smaller rec rooms, Nanami knelt beside a boy who kept creating sharp crystal formations around himself whenever he got nervous. Nanami calmly handed him a small book, sitting there and waiting with patient silence. The boy eventually sat too, mimicking him.
In the clinic room, Shoko sighed over a chart, her team of healers working efficiently to log results. She looked up and waved as you passed, tossing a cold drink your way.
“Don’t forget to hydrate,” she called. “It’s hell doing assessments with heat-exhausted kids.”
Further in the training yard, Satoru laughed, his blindfold pushed up as he levitated a group of kids in slow motion, letting them experience flight for the first time while keeping them safe in a soft field of cursed energy.
“They’re naturals!” he shouted proudly. “Some of these little gremlins might actually beat you in a few years!”
You rolled your eyes but smiled.
One of the girls near Satoru looked over and whispered to her friend, “Is that his wife?”
Suguru, beside you, smirked at your surprised blink. “Rumors spread fast around here.”
You ignored him, cheeks warm, and walked on—your heart full as you saw how everyone, from the strongest sorcerers to the smallest children, was fighting for something better. Hope. Control. Peace.
You stood in the center of the open garden, barefoot on the grass, hands raised with delicate control. The children encircled you, wide-eyed and breathless as you guided the elements like a storybook enchantress.
A soft gust danced through their hair as you summoned a miniature whirlwind that lifted flower petals into the air. With a flick of your wrist, droplets of water shimmered midair, catching sunlight like tiny rainbows. You weaved fire into harmless glowing ribbons and coaxed vines from the earth to twist into heart-shaped crowns for the younger ones.
“Wow!” one of the little girls gasped. “You’re a real fairy!”
“No,” a boy countered, “she’s a princess. The kind that saves people.”
You crouched down and gently placed a crown of living blossoms on his head. “You’re all the ones being brave,” you said with a wink. “I just know a few tricks.”
From under the nearby walkway, three sets of eyes were fixed on you.
Satoru, relaxed and leaning back with his arms behind his head, smiled with a mix of fondness and mischief. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… she’s unreal.”
Nanami, standing with crossed arms, exhaled a quiet sigh. “She’s good with them.”
But his eyes lingered longer than his words.
Suguru said nothing, but the quiet intensity in his gaze spoke volumes—his posture softer, his usual edge dulled by the sight of you laughing and playing with the children like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Ah, young love,” Shoko murmured behind them, a cigarette lazily balanced between her fingers.
The three men stiffened in sync.
“What?” Satoru blinked, pretending to be oblivious.
Shoko took a long drag and shrugged. “Didn’t say anything.” Then, with a teasing smirk, she added, “But if I were a betting woman, I’d put my money on the one who actually brings her tea instead of flirting like a teenager.”
Nanami’s jaw twitched.
Mei Mei strolled by, long silver hair swaying, dressed elegantly even in casual wear. She peered into the courtyard with a glint of mischief in her eyes.
“Oh, my. It’s like watching three overly composed CEOs fall for a magical babysitter,” she whispered, sipping her tea. Then, after a pause, she added with a giggle, “Delicious.”
“She’s not just a babysitter,” Suguru said lowly, finally breaking his silence. “She’s…”
He trailed off.
Satoru raised a brow, curious but saying nothing.
Out in the yard, you had conjured a sphere of soft glowing light, letting the children take turns poking it like a floating bubble. They squealed with delight every time it bounced away gently.
“See what I mean?” Shoko said, exhaling smoke upward. “That woman’s a walking spell.”
Mei Mei chuckled again, this time more softly, as she watched you brush a bit of dirt off a child’s cheek. “No wonder they’re all smitten.”
Shoko blew a long, slow puff toward the sky. “Utahime’s going to kill us if we keep encouraging this drama.”
That night…
The air in Nanami’s room was still, only the soft clink of whiskey glasses and the occasional rustle of fabric breaking the quiet. Low lamplight cast warm shadows on the walls as the three men sat— Satoru, Suguru, and Nanami—finally addressing the growing, shared tension between them.
Their glasses met with a soft chime, and the moment hung between them—ridiculous, unexpected, strangely sincere. Whatever came next, they’d face it like men: united in confusion, in affection… and in anticipation.
“So,” Satoru started, stretching long legs out and leaning back in his chair, blindfold pushed up to rest in his hair, “are we just gonna keep pretending we’re not all in love with the same woman?”
Nanami sighed, slow and deep. “No. That’s exactly why I asked you both here.”
Suguru gave a quiet hum from his place on the couch. “It’s been a long time coming.”
“I still think this is insane,” Nanami muttered, though not with much conviction. “But fair.”
Suguru let out a dry chuckle. “So it’s settled then? It’s either all of us… or none of us.”
Satoru nodded, swirling the amber liquid in his glass. “Friendship pact. The sacred bro code.”
“You sound like a teenager,” Nanami deadpanned.
Satoru grinned. “Come on. It’s kind of romantic in a deeply dysfunctional way.”
“We’re not teenagers. We’re grown men,” Suguru said calmly, then added, “...who all want the same woman and are too emotionally fucked up to admit it properly.”
Nanami shot him a look. “Speak for yourself. I’ve been honest about my feelings.”
Satoru raised a finger. “Correction: we’re all emotionally fucked up in different ways. But hey, we’re making progress. We’re talking, aren’t we?”
Suguru hummed in agreement. “So now what? We made our pact. How do we pursue her?”
Nanami rubbed his temples. “With tact. She’s not some conquest.”
Satoru leaned forward, a little more serious now. “Exactly. We don’t corner her. No pressure. We just… show up. Let her feel it.”
“Let her feel that she’s wanted. That she’s loved,” Suguru murmured, gaze softening. “By all three of us. Equally.”
“She’s already so protective with the kids. And kind,” Nanami added. “It’s not just affection she gives. It’s care. Security. She’s built for love… I don’t want her to feel burdened.”
Satoru gave a wistful sigh. “She’s already taken care of so much. The twins, Megumi, the kids at the shelter. I don’t want her to feel like she has to take care of us, too.”
“Then we make her feel safe,” Nanami said plainly. “Wanted. Not overwhelmed.”
Suguru nodded. “We do what we’ve always done. But this time, with intention.”
Suguru leaned back with a mischievous grin. “So, we try it all. One-on-one time, individual efforts… flowers, coffee breaks, stolen quiet moments. Then we see what happens when it’s all three of us—together.”
Nanami raised a brow. “You think she’ll actually let us?”
Satoru smirked. “I think she’s already considering it. Remember what we overheard?”
Suguru’s lips twitched. “She did joke about having all three of us.”
Nanami lifted his glass again. “If it wasn’t a joke… then we’re in uncharted territory.”
“But if she wants all of us,” he added bluntly, “I will not fuck the two of you.”
“Hard same,” Suguru said.
Satoru, ever the chaos, shrugged. “I wouldn’t mind watching her be fucked by either of you.”
“And I’ll make sure to add any of you to my curse collection if so much as the tip of dick touches one of yours,” Suguru replied smoothly, without missing a beat.
That earned a round of laughter as they clinked their glasses again.
Then Satoru leaned forward, eyes serious beneath the messy bangs. “I wouldn’t mind… if she wants us to fuck her at the same time.”
Suguru fell silent, not because he disapproved, but because the image it conjured made his thoughts turn dark and needy. He didn’t speak, just drained his glass.
Nanami cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses. “As long as it’s what she wants… I won’t mind.”
Their silence this time wasn’t from tension—but the heavy weight of real desire and uncertainty.
“She’ll let us know,” Nanami said eventually. “She’s strong. She’ll make the choice.”
“Until then,” Suguru said with a smirk, “we show her who we are. Individually. Together. Let her feel it.”
Satoru grinned. “No games. No pressure. Just all in.”
They clinked one last time.
“May the best... trio win,” Satoru added with a wink.
And the pact was sealed.

The New Yorker just issued its cover: Donald J Trump, A Man of Conviction, by John Cuneo
+
Justice.
May 31, 2024
ROBERT B. HUBBELL
Justice.
On Thursday, May 30, justice was served in a Manhattan courtroom.
A jury of twelve citizens convicted Donald Trump on thirty-four felony counts of falsifying documents to interfere in the 2016 election.
Justice was served.
Trump received a fair trial before an impartial jury presided over by an even-handed judge.
Trump had the right to testify or remain silent. He chose to remain silent—as permitted by the Fifth Amendment.
He had the unlimited right to challenge jurors “for cause” if he demonstrated that a juror could not render an impartial verdict. Trump challenged only one juror for cause—a juror who had once been the houseguest of one of Trump's attorneys. That juror was later excused on a peremptory challenge by Trump.
Trump had ten “peremptory challenges” that allowed him to excuse jurors without providing a reason. Trump exercised all ten peremptory challenges.
Trump was able to object to the testimony of witnesses and the introduction of exhibits. He objected continuously. Many of his objections were sustained, and most were overruled (because they were baseless).
He cross-examined every witness offered by the prosecution. He offered two witnesses in his defense. They sealed his fate.
He made an opening statement and a closing argument to the jury.
He was able to submit and object to jury instructions.
After the jury began deliberations, its requests to review key evidence and important jury instructions indicated that it took its charge seriously.
The length of the jury’s deliberations and the unanimity of its verdict on thirty-four counts demonstrate that they were persuaded beyond a reasonable doubt that Donald Trump was guilty as charged.
Justice was served.
The verdict matters because it demonstrates to Americans that the core of our democracy is strong and true.
One fair verdict will offset a dozen compromised and corrupt judges and justices. The verdict demonstrates what justice looks like—and reminds us of what we can have again if we gain control of Congress and retain the presidency.
The verdict is important because it reminds Americans that no person is above the law in our democracy. That bedrock truth must be reinforced periodically, or it will lose its animating force.
The verdict also speaks to the world. It reminds friends and foes alike that the audacious American experiment is robust and secure. Convicting a former president in a fair trial is something few other nations would attempt—much less accomplish in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The verdict gives Americans much to be thankful for:
A fair jury composed of twelve Americans willing to perform the simple but extraordinary task of sitting in judgment over a former president.
A District Attorney willing to carefully review the evidence and follow the law.
Competent and diligent prosecutors willing to do the hard work necessary to achieve justice.
An honorable, fair, firm judge willing to protect the rights of the defendant and the interests of the people in seeing justice served.
Court officers, law enforcement officers, clerks, paralegals, and court reporters who ensured that the court proceeding unfolded in an orderly and safe manner.
Given the fundamental fairness of the trial and verdict, Republicans are reduced to attacking the justice system itself. In a coordinated effort, Republican members of Congress issued statements that called the trial “rigged,” insulted the integrity of the jury, compared the proceeding to “show trials in Cuba under Castro,” and said that May 30 was “the most shameful day in American history.”
While we should be concerned about the assaults on the justice system, let’s recognize that the system prevailed today—despite seven years of attacks by Trump and his enablers. The trial and verdict served as a stress test for the justice system—and it passed.
There will be time to assess the political ramifications of the verdict. Today, we should celebrate that the justice system worked despite enormous efforts to obstruct and undermine it.
That is a remarkable, glorious achievement that stands alone.
Sit with that truth for a moment before returning to the urgent task of preventing Trump's reelection. We deserve a moment of calm reflection and sober relief that justice was served.
Justice.
Finally.

it is slowly turning to the time of year where (in my part of the world) there’s fruit and veggie yields so uhhh a couple canning safety reminders:
ONLY USE JARS THAT ARE MADE FOR CANNING (i am begging u. also make sure there’s no cracks, chips, etc, and sterilize your materials before use)
ALWAYS buy new seals for jars (reuse rings a few times if they aren’t rusty that’s fine)
use safe, tested recipes and don’t play around with them! that spice/vinegar/sugar/lemon juice/whatever measurement is probably an integral part of the recipe and preservation process. also- stick to the methods listed.
wipe your jars with a hot cloth before putting on a seal. stuff on the sides of the jar is gross and sticky, can impact your seal, and potentially mold.
#haven’t seen much canning content on here but ik everyone loves the vibe (including me)#but for some reason there’s a whole swath of canning folks who are so scary about it like#please I do not want to be hospitalized due to your ambiguously canned salsa#feel free to comment + add + anything!! 99 Years, 7 Months, 15 Days
"Slowly…bring it in slowly!"
Furina stood on the walkway overlooking the basin as a squad of gardes dragged a heavy crate forward. Sigils made of pure Hydro pulsed on the heavy iron frame that bucked and shuddered as something desperately tried to escape. A ring of gardes with heavy weapons stood arrayed around the edge of the room, sweat trickling down their brows as the crate was dragged into the center of the chamber at the heart of the facility.
"You shouldn't be here," Neuvillette whispered as he stood next to her. "If something goes wrong-"
"I have a Sovereign to protect me," Furina said, patting Neuvillette's arm as she leaned over the railing. Yes, it was dangerous, but Furina wasn't about to miss the opening of her new facility for anything. It had taken nearly five years to assemble a team and construct a facility deep beneath the waters of Fontaine; a pet project that Furina hoped would allow the safe study of Primordial Seawater and other projects too dangerous to be left above ground. Neuvillette, thankfully, didn't think she was insane when she pitched the idea to him, though his eyebrow crooked when she suggested synthesizing seawater themselves. It would take an enormous source of elemental energy to approach the purity of Primordial Seawater; dozens of Hydro Visions working in tandem for hours or, failing that, water passed through an elemental being until it was sufficiently suffused with Hydro.
Furina had almost given up hope they could actually synthesize enough to study, until their gardes received a disturbing report of a rogue elemental spirit deep in the mountains.
"Will your seals hold?" Furina asked as the gardes carefully stepped back to open the crate with large chains attached to each corner.
"I suppose we'll find out soon enough," Neuvillette said, Hydro energy dancing on his fingertips. "Hold your hands out like you're doing something."
Furina spread her fingers, nodding to the workers below as they yanked on the chains at the same time. Power thrummed from the tips of Neuvillette's fingers, flaring the Hydro seals as the cube of concentrated Hydro lunged, trying to escape, only to slam into an invisible barrier holding it in place. Furina winced, maintaining her composure as the entity tested the magical bonds Neuvillette placed on it.
"I rigged the array to react to Hydro energy; so long as the integrity of the facility holds, any attempt the Hypostasis makes to escape will only fuel the seals powering it," Neuvillette said, watching the entity thrash impotently. "I will have to renew them every so often…even then, we are attempting to contain one of the most mercurial spirits I have ever subdued so I can't say how well it will work."
"This might have to be a short experiment then…we'll play it by ear and adjust as needed," Furina assured him, and herself.
"You seem more…agitated than usual," Neuvillette said, careful not to betray knowledge he gleaned from his irritating new ability to detect emotions.
"Is it obvious?" Furina asked, a genuine note of worry creeping into her voice.
Not to anyone who can't read your emotions, Neuvillette thought.
"Not to them, I don't think," Neuvillette said. "But don't think I haven't noticed that your research methods are getting riskier."
"I'm not coming up with these research methods myself, Neuvillette," Furina huffed.
"No, but you are the one who chooses which projects receive funding," Neuvillette pointed out.
"Well, this one has…merit," Furina said.
"I doubt a Hypostasis was in the original research proposal."
"Alright, fine, I'm taking a risk here," Furina bit her lip, watching the elemental being thrash behind the barrier. "An educated risk, I think, but I'm not blind to the danger…just as I'm not blind to the danger that faces Fontaine."
"You never have been…," Neuvillette said, holding the rest of his argument back as a menacing otherworldly howl of rage reverberated through the chamber. Spirits were proud creatures that loathed being contained or trapped for too long. Spite was a deadly motivator and the Hypostasis would need little incentive to take revenge on them should it ever escape.
"I know what I'm doing," Furina said, though Neuvillette didn't know if she was speaking to him or herself.

By Henry I. Miller and Jonathan Bloom
The divisiveness pervading science and medicine has intensified since the COVID-19 pandemic, fueled by debates over vaccines, mandates and public health measures. Although anti-vaccine sentiment predates the pandemic, a small number of rogue physicians and influencers have amplified disinformation, jeopardizing public trust.
Medical doctor and Johns Hopkins University Professor Benjamin Mazer described the post-pandemic bitterness in The Atlantic:
[People are] angry about losing a job, getting bullied into vaccination, or watching children fall behind in a virtual classroom. That legacy of bitterness and distrust is now a major political force. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is on the precipice of leading our nation’s health care system as secretary of Health and Human Services … and the Stanford professor Jay Bhattacharya is expected to be picked to run the National Institutes of Health. These men … are united by a lasting rage over COVID.
Bhattacharya’s nomination has since been announced officially. As one of the three authors of the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD), a statement issued by unorthodox scientists during the pandemic, Bhattacharya promoted outdated and dangerous public health strategies, prioritizing mass infection of the population over proven containment measures.
The GBD proposed addressing COVID-19 by protecting the “vulnerable” (mainly, the elderly) while allowing mass exposure among lower-risk groups to achieve “herd immunity.” Though theoretically plausible early in the pandemic, the rapid emergence of more infectious and dangerous variants made this strategy catastrophic. Even with cautious measures, COVID claimed over 1.3 million lives in the U.S. alone
Allowing the virus to spread among young people inevitably endangered older populations. As NYU neurologist Dr. Jonathan Howard wrote in “We Want Them Infected,” his book that took a critical look at rogue scientists like Bhattacharya: “You cannot hermetically seal off the vulnerable from the rest of society, especially not in a country as interconnected as the United States.”
The GBD also ignored vaccines’ critical role in ending the pandemic. Even after vaccines became available, proponents continued to downplay their importance while opposing measures like masking and testing. This resistance fueled vaccine skepticism, which persists today.
The GBD’s advocates underestimated COVID’s impact, consistently downplaying its risks. For example, Bhattacharya claimed the virus had been “defanged” on five separate occasions between 2021 and 2022, during which 380,000 Americans died. Long COVID — the persistence of symptoms or the appearance of new ones, following the acute infection — continues to afflict millions, including many young, previously healthy individuals.
Howard’s book outlines how herd immunity proponents misled the public, minimizing the virus’ dangers while promoting mass infection. The title, “We Want Them Infected,” is derived from a 2020 email by Paul Alexander, a Trump administration advisor, who advocated infecting young people to accelerate herd immunity.
The GBD became a political tool, embraced by the first Trump administration, to justify lax pandemic policies. Public health measures like masking and vaccination became polarizing issues, undermining trust in science. Diseases like measles, whooping cough and polio, once eradicated, are now resurging as anti-vaccine sentiment spreads.
Proponents of the GBD, including Bhattacharya, continue to influence public health debates. Bhattacharya and coauthor Martin Kulldorff serve on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Public Health Integrity Committee. Bhattacharya’s nomination to head the NIH raises concerns about the future of that renowned institution and of evidence-based public policy.
The flaws of the GBD offer important lessons. Public health policies must be guided by rigorous science, not ideology. Complacency and political interference exacerbate crises, as demonstrated by the politicization of basic precautions like masking and vaccination. Accountability is essential to restoring trust and ensuring better leadership during future pandemics.
The story of the Great Barrington Declaration is a cautionary tale of how ideology and misinformation can undermine public health. Its failures led to unnecessary suffering and eroded trust in science. As we reflect on the pandemic, it is vital to learn from these mistakes and prioritize evidence-based strategies for future crises. In the words of Dr. Howard: “We owe it to the millions of people who have suffered and died to get this right.”
Henry I. Miller, a physician and molecular biologist, is the Glenn Swogger Distinguished Fellow at the American Council on Science and Health. Formerly a research fellow at the NIH, he was the founding director of the FDA’s Office of Biotechnology. Jonathan Bloom is director of chemical and pharmaceutical sciences at the American Council on Science and Health.

The modern clan seal dates back twelve reigning matriachs as a method of unifying the very heterogenous tradition of Twowic clan seals into a standardized format. Clans which integrated into the nascent twowi state under mostly voluntary circumstances were allowed to keep their original seals, though they are technically forbidden upon pain of death for treason to be used or displayed, these older clan seals are kept inside the compound reliquary and treated as a religious artifact collectively being all ancestors in lieu of their original symbolic embodiment of the clan. Newer and constructed clans never had the old style seals, while clans who put up a resistance had their clan seals destroyed, and populations split up.
Traditional pre-unification clan seals had a variety of shapes and formats, generally containing the name of the clan, their patron deity's sacred animal or the spiritual ancestor/primary livestock specialty of the clan, alongside more personal and esoteric symbology unique to their region or clan. These seals were carved into soft minerals like steatite and used to make impressions in clay, later felt-paper. As Twowi is a macroethnicity whose populations speak a wide range of related languages, older seals are written in dozens of languages with only a general system in common.
Components of the modern seal are 1- Clan Name 2- the imperial seal (this is a placeholder for the time being) in a more prestigious font than the clan name 3- patron deity of the clan 4- official day of founding, older clans always have their official founding date rewritten to be four years after the reign of the first Twowi Matriarch of Matriarchs; periphery clans maintain clandestine knowledge of their traditional founding dates, but more central ones lose that knowledge. The date is in purely numerical format, as opposed to the traditional method of fully writing it out, and by rendering all clans on paper younger than the heartland leadership cadre, it is another exercise of power. Likewise, all modern seals and clan documentation is mandated to be written in Twowi, the language of the heartland. This cultural primacy of Twowi is why the language family is referred to as Twowic, and the macroethnicity as Twowi. Hence the scholarly neglect of the more widely spoken first languages of Dwo'wî, Towiwi, and Ovē.
There's a movement in the heartland to test the extent of imperial influence by reducing clan patrons to a small, often abbreviated name next to the image of the Imperial Clan's patron. This has been... controversial.

Assessing Sachet Seal Integrity: Methods and Importance
Sachets are widely used for packaging various products, including food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Ensuring the seal integrity of sachets is crucial to maintaining product quality, safety, and shelf life. Seal integrity testing is a critical step in the manufacturing process to detect any defects that could compromise the contents of the sachet. This article explores the methods and importance of sachet seal integrity testing.
Importance of Sachet Seal Integrity:
The seal of a sachet serves multiple purposes, including:
Product Protection: A secure seal prevents contamination, moisture ingress, and exposure to oxygen, which can degrade the product's quality and efficacy.
Shelf Life Extension: Properly sealed sachets help extend the shelf life of products by protecting them from external factors that could cause deterioration.
Safety Assurance: For pharmaceutical and food products, seal integrity is essential to ensure consumer safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Methods of Sachet Seal Integrity Testing:
Several methods are used to assess the seal integrity of sachets. Each method has its advantages and is chosen based on factors such as the type of product, production volume, and regulatory requirements. Some common methods include:
Visual Inspection: Visual inspection is the simplest and most cost-effective method for assessing sachet seal integrity. Operators visually inspect each sachet for any visible defects, such as incomplete seals, wrinkles, or tears. While this method is subjective and relies on human judgment, it can quickly identify obvious defects that may compromise seal integrity.
Peel Strength Testing: Peel strength testing measures the force required to peel apart the sealed edges of a sachet. This method evaluates the strength of the seal and its resistance to opening under stress. A higher peel strength indicates a stronger seal, while a lower peel strength may indicate a weak or defective seal. Peel strength testing is commonly used in industries where the integrity of the seal is critical, such as pharmaceutical packaging.
Burst Testing: Burst testing assesses the integrity of the sachet seal by subjecting it to internal pressure. The sachet is filled with air or another gas and sealed before being subjected to increasing pressure until the seal fails. Burst testing helps identify weak seals that may rupture under pressure, compromising the contents of the sachet. This method is particularly important for products packaged in sachets with a gas-flushed atmosphere, such as coffee or snacks.
Vacuum Decay Testing: Vacuum decay testing is a non-destructive method for assessing sachet seal integrity. The sachet is placed in a vacuum chamber, and the pressure inside the chamber is reduced to create a vacuum. Any leaks in the sachet seal allow air to enter the package, causing a change in pressure that can be measured and analyzed. Vacuum decay testing is highly sensitive and can detect leaks as small as a few microns in size.
Helium Leak Detection: Helium leak detection is a highly sensitive method used to detect extremely small leaks in sachet seals. The sachet is filled with helium, and a mass spectrometer is used to detect any helium that escapes through leaks in the seal. Helium leak detection is often used for high-value or critical applications where even tiny leaks could have significant consequences, such as pharmaceutical packaging.
Importance of Sachet Seal Integrity Testing:
Ensuring the seal integrity of sachets is essential for maintaining product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Some key reasons why seal integrity testing is important include:
Product Quality: A secure seal protects the contents of the sachet from contamination, moisture ingress, and exposure to oxygen, helping maintain product quality and freshness.
Consumer Safety: In industries such as pharmaceuticals and food, seal integrity is critical for ensuring consumer safety and preventing contamination or tampering of the product.
Regulatory Compliance: Regulatory agencies, such as the FDA and EMA, have strict requirements for seal integrity in pharmaceutical and food packaging. Seal integrity testing helps manufacturers demonstrate compliance with these regulations and avoid costly recalls or fines.
Brand Reputation: Products with compromised seal integrity can lead to customer complaints, negative reviews, and damage to brand reputation. By ensuring the seal integrity of sachets, manufacturers can uphold their brand reputation and build trust with consumers.
In conclusion, sachet seal integrity testing is a critical aspect of the manufacturing process for products packaged in sachets. By employing various testing methods, manufacturers can ensure that sachet seals are strong, secure, and free from defects. This helps maintain product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, ultimately enhancing consumer confidence and brand reputation.
