FE Analysis: Female Corrin’s Popularity
Ever since it was announced that Female Corrin would be the default version of the Fates Avatar represented in Fire Emblem Warriors, it got me thinking about the rise in Female Corrin’s popularity. Where ever you look, from fan art to written works, it seems the fairer gender is given more of the spotlight. When I started considering her success in recent popularity polls, it also brought to my attention the lesser reception her male counterpart has received in comparison. But why is this? How is the difference so great when the two Corrins are essentially the same characters? Here’s my sort of thought dump on the factors leading to Female Corrin’s popularity that has made her the current poster child for the character.
Tumblr media
To start, I think it’s important to note that Fire Emblem as a franchise, has always had a male-bias. It’s a widely accepted idea that boys play video games more than girls, so for a long time, FE games traditionally featured a male main protagonist to ensure a relatable viewpoint. Only recently with Awakening and Fates have players been able to specifically choose their character’s gender. This notion of male protagonists being more relatable, and therefore more popular and marketable can be seen in Super Smash Bros 4 where Robin was chosen to be represented by his male version on the character selection screen, in his character trailer, as well as the model for his Amiibo.
Tumblr media
The decision from Nintendo to only produce Male Robin Amiibos was met with some disappointment that a Female version was lacking. When it was time for Corrin to receive an Amiibo, Nintendo notably made a point to include both genders. Now, this could have been in response to the criticisms towards the Robin Amiibo, but I think this also had to do with the fact that Female Corrin could not be left out because of her enormous popularity.
In the Awakening character popularity polls in Japan, both male and female versions of Robin were very popular. Male Robin ranked 3rd amongst the male cast, and Female Robin ranked 2nd amongst the entire female cast. It was this positive reception that would ensure that an Avatar character would return in Fates. However, when it was time for the Fates popularity polls, Male Corrin ranked a very good 5th place for males. Female Corrin, on the other hand, took 1st Place for females, beating out every other female in the game.
Tumblr media
So what does this mean?
Well, in Awakening both Avatars were… pretty similarly liked. But in Fates, there is a clear difference between the two genders - something made Female considerably more popular. To cement this, in Fire Emblem Heroes’ Choose Your Legend popularity poll, Female Corrin nabbed 5th place for females in the ENTIRE FRANCHISE with 19,599 votes (9th Place overall). And Male Corrin? He managed a paltry 21st place for males (41st place overall), with 7,691 votes - almost a third as much as Female Corrin. Heck, even Dorcas beat out Male Corrin, and he got poisoned by Mutton.
You can see where this is going, right?
When you’re marketing a game, you put your best foot forward. For Robin, the genders were on pretty equal footing, so Male was the safe bet. It was the tradition - it was what came naturally to Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. Boys play video games, so make the rep a boy. But for Corrin, things were different. Nintendo could not afford the luxury of just trusting the Male version as the predictable safe bet. This time, there was a clear imbalance in who the fans like more, and who would be most well received if they were made the default version in Fire Emblem Warriors. From a marketing perspective, the obvious choice this time, was Female Corrin.
So what brought on such a large disparity in reception? What gave sway to the Female gender transcending the norm for what kind of protagonist is considered relatable and likable? The answers are rooted in a philosophy as old as time: sexism.
Tumblr media
To understand what makes Female Corrin so much more popular than her Male counterpart, we need only look into the very essence of their characters. In Fates, Corrin is defined by their kind heart and naive idealism. Unlike traditional Fire Emblem lords that mainly fight against an outside force, many of Corrin’s problems revolve around struggling to stay true to their kind heart amidst a cynical war. Because many of Corrin’s conflicts are against family or otherwise good people, Corrin repeatedly shows mercy and goodwill during times when a general can ill afford to. Even when others pressure or try to dissuade them, Corrin holds onto their hope for an ideal world, and is often pained and deeply burdened by harsh reality.
The consequence that arises from this kind of personality is that there are certain gender roles that modern society has instilled deep in our psyche that prevails even now. One trope that you can see just about anywhere even today is Men Act, Women Are. This trope describes the notion that characters are most likable when they embody traits we associate with their gender, namely that men are defined by their achievements, while women are defined by their personalities and appearances.
From a story perspective, the narrative benefits from Corrin being female. Corrin embodies traits that are most stereotypically associated with female characters in the FE franchise - namely compassion and naivety. You can see these traits in other forefront characters like Celica, Mist and Micaiah. As modern day players, we are conditioned to admire and respect female characters who are able to pursue just ideals and embody values of peace and optimism. A female character who weeps for the loss of life and falters when a cruel act is needed is seen as loving and sympathetic. On the other hand, a male character that cries openly and hesitates during critical moments is seen as weak and unreliable. A female character who trusts easily is often seen as pure and innocent, but a male who does the same can come across as naive or foolish. On the other end of the spectrum, female characters who suppress their emotions are seen as stone-hearted and world-weary, while males who do the same appear cool-headed and mature. Basically, for the common media consumer, Corrin embodies traits that are more easily associated with femininity, and the story comes together better as a result because we are less likely to second guess a female behaving the way Corrin does. We see what we want to see.
There’s also the detail that Corrin is often “babied” and deeply cared for by their siblings. Xander constantly worries for Corrin’s safety, Camilla smothers them like a child, and the younger sisters stick to them like glue. In my personal experience, I found the story slightly more appealing when it was a Female Avatar receiving such affection because how less conventional it felt compared to the more common Male protagonist who’s the center of attention. I was able to believe young girls like Elise and Sakura would be more comfortable around and able to admire an older sister rather than a brother. A story of an innocent maiden finding her place in the world surrounded by loving family is more appealing to me than a naive young man smothered by his siblings. In traditional anime and games, women are often the ones with strong familial connections, while men are typically associated with independence. It’s a shallow sentiment, but I do believe this detail affects to some degree how some players perceive and appreciate the character of Corrin.
Tumblr media
The next big reason is a purely aesthetic choice: Female Corrin is pretty. It’s a fact of life that visual appeal contributes to popularity with consumers. Female Corrin has a very attractive design, invoking regal feminine elegance, but also obvious warrior power. Boys are clearly meant to like her a lot. In comparison, the Male Corrin looks… pretty typical, and even a bit bland. His armor is jagged in some areas while Female’s is sleek and smooth. His shoulder sleeves look tight and restrictive while Female’s is puffy and elegant. His leggings are… leggings. Female has thighs. (^^)b
And perhaps it’s due to generations of Fire Emblem only having female dragons, but I feel I’m conditioned to think pointed ears just look better on Female Corrin than it does on Male. I’m not sure if that’s just me. Regardless, a powerful, sexy dragon girl naturally should fair better in popularity polls than an average anime male protagonist. Boys want her and girls want to be her, such is the intention and role of the Avatar character. There’s also the fact that the Fates Avatar kind of has a more feminine fighting style, don’t you think? Graceful twirls and cartwheels are more often seen as a feminine combat style, again, better suiting the Female Corrin. Just a minor note of mine.
So what’s the main take aways from all this? What makes Female Corrin more popular than Male Corrin?
To put simply: she’s just better. From a story perspective, her gender more easily meshes with her game’s themes, plot points and interactions with other characters. Her design is more attractive, and from a superficial stand point, Female just is more likable for these reasons.
Tumblr media
Now, does this mean Female is the “canon” gender of her games? Not at all. The Avatar is meant to be whatever the player chooses them to be, and it’s up to the player’s preference on which gender betters the story more. While both do have their merits, in my eyes, Female adds more to the story with her as the protagonist, which is enough to give her favor.
In the end, it is the numbers that speak louder than words, and with Female Corrin holding nearly three times as many votes as Male, it’s obvious who would be made the representing gender of the character in Warriors. Considering Nintendo’s track record as of late, I do believe we will be getting both Female and Male versions of Corrin in Warriors, with Female acting as the main face in the character selection screen.
While it may not seem like a big deal, there are implications to Female Corrin receiving the spotlight this time. Due to the fanbase’s appreciation for a female protagonist, this may influence the protagonist of Fire Emblem Switch to also be female, or at least encourage Intelligent Systems to continue making the protagonist’s gender selectable. We are experiencing a shift in the FE franchise in what gender best suits a protagonist is now less defined. I look forward to Female Corrin in Warriors (if it wasn’t clear by now, I like her more), and I’m excited to see how this small but important choice in Warriors may affect the franchise moving forward.
Not everything is so cut and dry and so easily labeled, however. I would like to hear your thoughts on which Corrin you appreciate more in their game and outside of it. Who do you like more?
I hope you enjoyed reading!

odd numbers for a baby of ur choice... or many babies... it is up to u
thank u for the ask!! i’ll answer these for troye and florence.
1. Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?
troye is the youngest of nine sons, and thus the baby of the family even as a grown man. he’s closest with his second-oldest brother joey, who is an arts student and a Good Brother™ to troye, always ready to support his endeavors, even though troye isn’t really sure what he wants to do with his future.
florence has a twin but that situation is a big mess. antoni is one big repressed memory, but if florence was aware of who they were she’d probably consider them closest to her. achilles is sort of a sibling figure to her, in a best friend way. and honestly florence would love if they were actually her sibling.
3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
troye has a good relationship with his dad! there are very clear similarities between the two, (gail is like an Old Dad version of troye) and they’ve always gotten along.
florence never really got to know her dad, since her family situation was sort of loosely defined and cult-ish. he was moreso the guy who helped sire her rather than an actual father. florence doesn’t really have any relevant parental figures.
5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?
troye: peppermint-flavored gum, his keys, his wallet full of pictures of his girlfriends, his phone, and probably a crumpled receipt from any store he’d been to that day.
florence: lint, a dollar coin. some quarters, and a cool rock she found on the sidewalk.
7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?
troye: losing loved ones, being forgotten. at several points he’s had a nightmare where he was inflicted with laila’s siren curse and it really messed with him. a lot of his nightmares take place on beaches at night and in other dark spaces.
florence: being abandoned, being betrayed. the latter is a relatively new fear for her, since she didn’t really allow herself to trust others until she started seeing laila and troye. ever since, she’s kind of paranoid that they might betray her someday, though she realizes it’s kind of an irrational fear.
9. Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?
not really! when he was growing up his parents would often be tight on money since raising nine kids isn’t the easiest on the wallet. nowadays, he isn’t super well off but he manages fine. he’s a bit of a compulsive spender.
florence wasn’t worth much as a kid and she isn’t worth much now considering she has no job and is also low tier scalie.
11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?
laila has thrown herself into danger several times and troye never stops being afraid for her. it’s bad for his blood pressure, honestly. as for a specific situation, i don’t really know in terms of what scared him the most, but probably something related to laila’s Blind Overconfidence.
florence was most afraid when her tribe was split apart, not really knowing what to do without them or how to really grow out of the rhetoric she was taught. she’d learn to adjust later, but that was a big point of confusion for her.
13. Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?
troye really hates the sight of blood, but doesn’t really react much aside from a lot of discomfort and disgust. he thinks things inside your body should stay there, ideally.
florence doesn’t care about and is unfazed by blood. being a man-eating monster’ll do that to ya.
15. Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?
troye believes money and happiness are fundamentally separate, and while he appreciates having money because it’s pretty useful when it comes to living and all, he thinks happiness really boils down to having people you care about, not how much you’re paid.
florence loves material possession and owning things, especially if her things are the shiniest out of other things. at the same time, she doesn’t really understand the concept of currency and generally just likes having nice stuff without realizing that nice stuff costs $$$
17. What was your character’s favorite toy as a child?
troye didn’t get attached to any toys but he did get really attached to his childhood blanket, which he brought everywhere. it’s lilac and remains in a closet in his childhood room.
florence didn’t really have any childhood toys.
19. What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
troye’s biggest flaw is that he’s kind of a pushover and he has a hard time saying no to anyone, and he hates to disappoint people. this leads to a lot of relationships that are really imbalanced.
he also gets really committed to people really fast, and while it’s not necessarily a bad thing it does tend to make a relationship seem rushed and when he reflects on it, he realizes he put a lot of expectations on said relationship.
florence, on the other hand, has a really hard time putting her trust in others and commitment is a really scary concept to her. because of this, the closest she’s really had to a “relationship” before laila and troye are a couple unrelated and meaningless flings.
she also didn’t really believe a relationship between a human and a siren could possibly sustain itself without falling apart before she started dating her partners, so that was kind of an obstacle.
21. If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?
troye’s first instinct is to think he did something wrong, and he has a hard time accepting it if the blame falls on someone else close to him.
florence is quick to blame anyone else for anything that happens to her, which leads to a lot of misplaced anger and grief. to be honest, anything truly traumatic most likely becomes one of florence’s repressed memories.
23. What does your character dislike in other people?
troye doesn’t like when other people have an inability to communicate in a relationship, a lack of respect for others wishes, or when people are extra-pessimistic.
florence doesn’t like elitism, which is kind of funny considering she grew up in a purity-cult. she also doesn’t appreciate when people are rude to her at all, and she holds grudges easily because of that.
25. How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person?
troye has a really hard time blaming other people, especially if he knows them really well. if he becomes suspicious of someone it usually has to be based on really convincing evidence.
florence is always quick to place the blame on someone, though her suspicion is often based on gut instinct.
27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?
troye’s first instinct when it comes to confrontation is to try and talk out whatever it is the disagreement is based on. he doesn’t like violence at all and tries to avoid it when he can.
florence deals with confrontation via fists. meet her in the pit if you have a problem. ideally, if fists aren’t an option then maybe she’ll consider talking it out.
29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?
as a little kid, troye dreamed of being the long-lost prince of a mysterious and vaguely european country. he also entertained being an actor with a for a while as an older kid with a more solid grasp of “realistic aspirations.” neither of those dreams really panned out.
currently, he’s kind of undecided in what he wants to do with his future.
florence really just wanted to be happy and carefree when she was older. this dream has come true, sort of. at least, after she got over all the complications of her life on the surface.
31. Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable.
concept: troye is sitting on a couch with his gfs, watching a dumb romantic comedy. laila is loudly eating popcorn and making blunt commentary on the contrived elements of the movie. florence laughs at any and all physical humor. he is very in love with the both of them. he can’t stop smiling.
humorous concept directly lifted from florence’s charahub page: florence, sitting on a throne. she is being fanned by two admirers, and worshipped by two more. she is eating a raw onion, and no one questions it at all.
actual concept for florence: she’s spread out on the couch, comfortably wrapped in blankets. laila hands her a hot chocolate and gives her a quick kiss on the cheek. she isn’t wearing terrible and oppressive construct known as pants.
33. In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve?
troye had a big problem with being self-deprecating for a long time and nowadays he tries to focus on getting better instead of putting himself down, and takes criticism best as he can.
florence is either super defensive or super unaffected based on what is being criticized. if it’s something she’s legitimately insecure about, she becomes very defensive, but typically her inflated sense of confidence keeps that from happening.
35. How does your character behave around people they like?
troye is absolutely giddy hanging around his crushes, and he’s incredibly obvious to anyone with eyes. he tries his best to be subtle but “being subtle” in troye’s vocabulary is limited to not confessing his feelings on the spot. lucky for him, laila couldn’t read someone’s feelings for her if a brick was thrown at her detailing them, and florence shows interest from day one.
florence actually gets really frustrated if she genuinely likes someone. she finds it kind of scary, letting someone have any amount of sway over her decisions or infatuation.
37. Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status?
troye is more concerned about defending his honor, i think. he values his good reputation and doesn’t want people to think bad things about him.
florence couldn’t give a rat’s ass about what people think about her if they aren’t a close friend, and she doesn’t have much of a status to begin with, but she’ll defend herself to the people closest to her.
39. Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)?
troye was bitten by his family dog at age ten and cried for hours about it at the time. it didn’t really have any lasting affects though, and he loves that dog to death.
florence is regularly bitten by mosquitoes but otherwise she hasn’t been bitten by like, an actual mammal or anything. she was once stung by a jellyfish and it made her kinda pissed. how dare this evil bag sting her.
41. Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first?
troye believes he should earn the things that he wants, and doesn’t want things to just be handed to him.
florence loves handouts, but she doesn’t pretend to deserve any of them. she kind of believes life is very luck-based, and she is very new to actually earning good things rather than just stumbling upon them.
43. Has your character ever had a dependent figure who was not related to them?
i can’t really think of one for troye, actually. i feel like he definitely had big influences in his life based on his relationships, particularly one with a boy he’d been pining over for a while that didn’t work out, but i don’t think there are any big names.
florence’s dependent figure is achilles, who is a very good friend to her and someone she really trusts to know the best for her, or at least advise her on how to live a healthy life.
44. What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?
troye is jewish and has a sort of ambiguous on the idea of an afterlife. ideally, he’d like to believe that there’s somewhere huge and beautiful and grand that he’ll go after he dies, but he also doesn’t really know if that’s his actual belief or just what he’d like to happen. death doesn’t really scare him, but the permanence of it is sort of unnerving.
florence doesn’t really connect herself to a religion, but she was taught a belief in the greek gods and has an ambiguous belief in them. her belief in an afterlife isn’t very well-defined and a big part of her is suspicious that after she dies she’s probably just. you know. Be Dead. she isn’t really scared of it at all. it’s the natural course of all living things. she’d prefer to enjoy her life on earth while it lasts.

Welcome to Among Us, RORY! CONRAD CECIL ( with the faceclaim of TYLER YOUNG ) has found shelter in NEW ATHENS, where we hope HE will fit in nicely. Please make sure to check the “after applying” section of our navigation here!
It would be easy, in a setting full of godly abilities, to make a character who’s lost touch with reality - overpowered, overdramatic, over-the-top in general. Yet Conrad is a very real character, in the sense that he’s a regular, albeit unlucky, mortal -- until he’s not. Being around nature sounds like the one thing that makes him feel peaceful, almost normal, which is something we find again in his being told his powers are expected. While being a demigod and joining Camp Half-Blood doesn’t sound like a regular life, he is a child of Demeter campers expect to see, making him actually pretty normal in this new setting. But as he is forced by the Recall to be closer to others, and since he’s looking after younger campers, we are curious to see if he’ll embrace this other life and come to call Demeter’s other children his siblings, and if he will open up about his life before camp to anyone. The situation may not be great, we can only hope he’ll dare rely on others and allow himself the friendships he deserves.
AND YOU ARE…?
It’s the summer solstice of 1995 in New York city, the sun high in the sky, the heat not preventing anyone from going about their day when Conradin Fane Cecil is born. He’s only an infant, but already his life is complicated and riddled with problems, as happens when one is born a month earlier than one is due. Life gets even more complicated for a baby when they are immediately put up for adoption, never to know their biological parents. But this doesn’t seem to affect little baby Conrad. Imagine he was a happy baby, as happy as a baby can be. He didn’t cry, fuss, or do much of any sort of baby complaining. It made it easier for those who took care of him. You’d think such a happy, well behaved baby would get adopted in no time, but sadly that was not the case for Conrad.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people, and Conrad had accepted this as truth by the time he was 13, still in the system, bouncing between foster homes and trying to keep a grip on a normal life. He did his best to fight the way being in the system could crush someone’s hopes and dreams and thoughts of ever being more than what you’ve been labeled. But it’s hard, near impossible when you’re always labeled the weird kid, or that kid who doesn’t have any parents. It’s even harder when you start to believe those things yourself.
He’d never had many friends, he transferred far too often to keep any steady relationships afloat, but trust in him being a kind person. He’s a simple person who likes simple things. One of his favorite activities was going to the park and just walking around for hours when possible, climbing trees, though his awkward and tall form made it slightly difficult to do so. He could fall asleep surrounded by nature, and let the plants lull him into a calm state with something akin to a song. He could almost feel the plants pulling him in, or moving towards him when he was in a low mood. Though he was sure that was all in his imagination, for everyone knows plants can’t talk or move, and the last thing Conrad needed was the be labeled as crazy atop everything else.
Despite not having much of anything himself, he’s selfless to the point of fault. Giving any spare money he happened to have in his pockets to the homeless, or giving food to them even if it meant he himself would go hungry. But his kindness would eventually lead him into trouble, and this trouble would forever change his life. Everyone as a young teen should know the term ‘Stranger Danger’ but Conrad had a tendency to ignore such statements, never one to judge preemptively. So when an older gentlemen at the grocery store had asked Conrad for help carrying his bags, of course Conrad agreed and followed the man out the doors. What he wasn’t expecting however was to be nearly murdered once the man morphed into something otherworldly and attempt to murder him. Not knowing what to do when he’s striked to the ground, and already injured from getting hit Conrad put his arms up to defend himself, but when the blow never came he looked up to find the man(?) was encased in vines and tree roots that had come from the ground, some even impaling him.
Conrad isn’t sure on how he ended up in Camp Half-Blood, memories surrounding the attack fuzzy as a whole. All he knows is he blacked out somewhere between running (read: limping) towards the park, and waking up in a cabin. He was told of everything, of the world of Gods and monsters and Demigods. He was also told that he passed out immediately following being told of such things. When he came to for the second and last time, he was informed that he had been claimed upon entering the Camp’s domain, and that he was the son of the Goddess Demeter.
It took Conrad a while to adapt to the Camp, and he still spent a lot of his free time alone, too used to it to make any changes. He was happy to find out he belonged somewhere, he truly was, but he felt as if the rug was going to be pulled out from under him any second, and didn’t want to get to comfortable. Conrad did his best to keep his past a secret from the others at the camp, and ensuring they never saw some of the scars that littered his body, faint as they may be, as they remind him of the less than stellar foster homes he was dumped in. He made sure to steer the conversation away from his life before camp whenever possible.
He found that while he excelled at some things at the camp, he didn’t do too well with close ranged fighting, and when he was told to choose a weapon, he went with a bow and arrow. Eventually he begins to carry it everywhere with him. Soon he managed to branch out, becoming friends with his cabin mates, though he could never call them his siblings. Conrad is proud to find out that he excels in his chlorokinesis, and could often be seen practicing his offensive and defensive abilities with it. Sometimes he would be found fast asleep in a bed of flowers, along with fellow cabin mates.
Currently Conrad is in New Athens, going to New Athens University and living in the dorms there. His room could easily be mistaken for an indoor garden. Though he takes frequent trips to Camp Half-Blood, helping train kids in combining their abilities with their weapons, and if need be, offering emotional support.
Prior to the recall, Conrad had been starting school at the University of New York, set to major in Psychology. When the recall came out, Conrad had a bit of trouble finding a way to disappear from the school, without causing a fuss. He ended up telling the school administration that he had to take his leave due to getting a job offer with an old friend across seas. He was able to leave the school after that without much worry and made his way to New Athens, nerves making him fidget the whole way there.
SHOWTIME!
Conrad Cecil knew one thing and one thing only as he blinked his eyes open, and that one thing was that he was dreaming.
He simply had to be dreaming, because he’s looking up at a wooden ceiling and he’s breathing, his head hurts like hell, and he he can vaguely make out the sound of talking near him. And he’s in a bed. So yes, he’s absolutely dreaming because moments ago he was running from… something, in the direction of the park and the foster house he’s at right now doesn’t have wooden ceilings or even beds as comfortable as the one he can feel underneath of him. He knows he can’t be dead because he definitely feels a hand on his shoulder and then a face appears above him, lips moving, saying something that Conrad can’t hear.
He feels himself being pulled to sit up, and as he does his vision blurs but he can start hearing things again so he takes it as it is and tries to blink away the haze. After a few moments he’s looking at two people who are staring at him, eyes wide, probably waiting for him to speak. But as he goes to ask where he is, the girl in front of him starts to speak.
“Can you hear me?” She asks and all Conrad can do is nod his head in confirmation. “Good, that’s good.” She says and then she’s turning, whispering something to the man with her before she’s looking back at him, her face soft and kind and Conrad feels like he’s about to be told he actually is dead and this is heaven. Instead what he gets is more shocking and less believable.
“This may be hard to comprehend, but I’m sure you’re parent dropped some hints of it,” She starts, and Conrad wants to correct her, but he doesn’t have the energy, and she continues. “You’re a demi-god.” She states simply, and this is when Conrad finally speaks up ever so eloquently.
“Uh- what?” He asks, squinting his eyes in confusion at her. He knows what a demi-god is, but it’s all works of fiction… right? he thinks.
The girl sighs, “Well, your mother is a Greek goddess, specifically Demeter, she claimed you as soon as you entered the camp which honestly is so interesting-” She looks like she’s ready to continue but she must catch his look of sheer terror and stops herself.
“So, basically Camp Half-Blood is a place for Greek Demigods to live semi-safely and train and learn to hone their abilities. You being the son of Demeter, I’m assuming you’ll be able to control plants and such like the other kids here. Though you are going to be questioned on what happened to you. Oh and you get to choose your own weapon and-”
“Right,” He says cutting her off and he nods before his eyes are rolling back into his head and he’s slumping down onto the bed, unconscious. He doesn’t know when he comes to, all he knows is that he has to ride this dream out until he wakes up.
