Note
Hihi! What are 5 things that make you happy? (bonus, ask the last 5 people in your notes :0)
TMNT - Seriously like every show and movie is GREAT and I'm currently reading the IDW comic. I've literally adopted each and every turtle as my own son.
Trigun - Vash the Stampede is my BABY GIRL and MY HUSBAND. I've been into Trigun since I was a lee wass. I love Vash so much. I got my dad to actually watch Trigun with me so it's something really cool to bond over with family. Trigun stampede is also like SO good. I also read Tri Max in the library and didn't publicly cry. :)
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle / XXXholic / Magic Knight Rayearth/ Clamp - I'm super into these classical shoujo series. They shaped how I am as a person to this day. Clamp was a lot of firsts for me in terms of manga reading so they're forever in a special place in my heart.
Scum Villain's Self Saving System - This book lives rent free in my mind. I can't believe how funny it is. It's so insane and I love every second of it. How am I somehow Binghe and ShenQingQiu at the same time, but lowkey I want what CumPlane have IRL. that's the ultimate romance to me and they're platonic .
Lout of the Count's family - LITERALLY go read it this series. Cale Henituse, young master silver shield, is EVERYTHING. That sweet man who adopts everyone is just like me FR except we're nothing alike BUT I STILL LOVE HIM.
My secret 6th - DO YOU KNOW Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is written by a married couple???? Kim Dokja is apparently modeled after the wife??? Hello??? I'm not normal. I'm not sane.
I'm asking you next @noname-nonartist @wrathofnature @wallstoothin @wizard-finix @tinyballerinadancer1 :>
real answers below
Art/ Creative Expression! Being able to draw pretty neat stuff whenever I want is so awesome! It's more then drawing, I like writing and making stuff by hand too.
Super generic answer but my family! I have a pretty small family and a bunch of pets. We're all super close and they bring me joy. I like helping and taking care of them and I like it when they help and take care of me!
Another Generic answer, my friends! Sometimes they're the reason I get up out of bed! Friends are awesome like that.
Brainrot! Zoning out about my latest brainrot is my life copium. I like to imagine my current fav character being horribly tortured by the narrative but it's ok because my brainrots always have hurt comfort. Or I just imagine bundling up my Oshi in a blanket and giving them a warm bowl of soup. It can go either way really.
Cartoons, Anime, Movies, Media/entertainment in general - I can't get enough of them. They're just so delightful especially the ones with whimsy.

I'm imagining an au where there are ACTUAL trials in evils theatre.
But what is weird is that the dead... seem to come back to life for trials to defend themselves, defend others or even sue people?
At first the theatre crew and the dead are like "yo wtf" but they get used to it. Most of the dead are in trials once or twice but there are several of them who are there A LOT.
Also by triaI mean someone says:
(Insert Name) is guilty of this and this
And then everyone involved participates in the discussion like: were they actually guilty, their reasons, outside reasons and what the victim says etc.
So my ideas for this:
Michaela is a regular member, forming a body out of roots and shit to either participate or observe trials bc that's how she gets amusement out of life as a tree
Gammon managed to get Lilith a guily verdict over the green hunting, she didn't speak to him for a month(no one knows if it was bc she regretted it or bc she was angry at him or both)
The punishment for being found guilty is cleaning and doing the chores of the theatre for a week
Gammon constantly tries to get the theatre members convicted bc of this
Nemesis regains her memories bc i want her to once every two months and causes the BIGGEST trials bc she has dirt on everyone
She once got Irina(who isn't always the judge) to be convicted for the Lioness Burning Incident
Gumillia is sick of this bs because she gets summoned to trials all the damn time bc of her partnership w Seth
When they need to call a dead person as witness they just shout that person's name and they appear
Everyone thinks it Gumillia raising the dead but its actually Luna Hazuki bc this is the most fun she has had in a millenium
She just watches everything from her secret base
If a dead person is found guilty, the entire court has to individually insult said person
Ron Grapple once accused Hansel and Gretel of his murder and won the case bc he was ABC's son and Irina liked him
The graveyard crew were shocked
Nyoze the loop octopus version once cleared up a case about the 7th project MA and never came again
Gammon couldn't process it
Michelle Marlon got MA convicted for not paying child support on two different occasions
Rahab Barisol once emerged out of MA and shit talked Lich
Clarith was accused of not being on the side of justice bc she didn't kill Riliane, coincidentially, Michaela went apeshit in that trial
Clarith also testified that riliane repented which had some ppl surprised
Ma tried to convict gretel for the murder of Mariam, they called her spirit and she literally said "idc"
Behemo makes Ace Attorney references whenever he's there
"That autopsy report is...OUTDATED!"
Nemesis was convicted for the destruction of Levianta(the Magic Kingdom)
Germaine sues Irina for all sorts of shit
No one managed to call on Allen Avadonia
Luna and Sickle kinda argued on this but Luna respected Sickle's decision(basically torturing a 14 year old :/)
They summomed Gallerian multiple times and his response was always "lmao who cares? im evil and i embrace it"
Irina can never trash talk him when he loses trials
Adam managed to get Gammon convicted for identity fraud bc of his past life...somehow
It was total bull and everyone knew that he had bribed Irina
Adam also got Seth convicted for child abuse
Dozens of women sued Venomania and he never won
Not even once
He did win a case against his asshole father though
Muzuri Conchita sued Irina for the curse on his household and he won the case
Elluka Chirclatia sued Nemesis, Mayrana Blossom and Ma for understandable reasons
Pride arc people sued the shit out of Prim, she didn't manage to win ANYTHING
Interestingly, the most ferocious person during her stuff was Banica bc of what she had done to Ney
Lemy sued Gumillia for his murder but the court was so split that they decided to convict neither side and never brought up the case again
It just gave everyone migraines
Adam and Eve tried to sue H&G for their murders but then H&G sued them for neglect, so they called it even
Eve was nearly convicted for the Toragay incident but no one could prove it was her (Nemesis wasn't there and Irina was interested in her defense)
Loki Freezis and Gallerian Marlon had an epic stand off
Kayo Sudou apologised for murdering Mei, Rin and Miku Miroku so they gave her a less harsh sentence which involved only the 3 victims insulting her
No one cared about Kai's death
The Pere Noel members of the 1st iteration(bc most members of the second are all alive until 999) had a LOT of cases
Kaspar tried to make a case against Eve but ignoring that he couldn't prove it was her, no one in the court sympathized with him
Eve and Adam had a shouting match with Seth cheering on from the sidelines until they realized he was their common enemy and ripped him to shreds(figuratively)
Kiril Clockworker nearly got convicted for Pale Noel's stuff, but they couldn't prove anything y'know? He was blamed a little for the catastrophe tho
Catherine Derais once came and she and Rahab were brutal
Brutal for Rahab mostly
All the sinners and the demons sued each other several times
They all got different verdicts each time lol
Sickle is against Luna interfering but doesn't say anything
Eater actually got all heated up in a case against Held once
Arth defended Lich in said case
Lich was so moved
Ney defended herself by saying that Michaela looked like Eve in Michaela's murder trial
No one took it seriously except Hansel and Banica
Nemesis nearly got in trouble for Nyoze's murder but Nyoze(the octo ver) said that her innocence was non-negotiatable
Mira Marlon sued Gallerian for cheating on her and won the case
Nemesis sued Held for not doing shit as a god
Surprisingly Irina, who benefitted the most from his inaction, agreed and he was found guilty
Gumillia was attacked several times for her aiding Elluka Clockworker with crimes and once she claimed that Elluka Clockworker never existed bc she was actually levia behemo, she wasn't elluka chirclatia and ergo elluka clockworker never existed and that Gumillia couldn't have POSSIBLY helped her do crime
The court just took a minute to process this in silence
"I hold nothing BUT contempt for this court." -Germaine, absolutely sick of this bullshit
But that quote could be anyone tbh
This is really long but the ideas just kept coming to me. I find it funny when characters are confronted with their actions, even if it is comedy like this
Honestly Evils Theatre SHOULD have had more trials
it would have been so fun

I have gone through chapter 15 in Dragalia Lost and the metaphorical hammer has finally dropped! (Chapter 15 spoilers ahead):
First, a little correction from my previous post. I realized I had mixed up Ciella with Cibella. Ciella’s the water Agito, a church heretic who wants to kill all bonds, while Cibella’s a starting adventurer character, a church priestess who wants to avenge the children of an orphanage she ran that got destroyed by fiends. Two drastically different characters, but only 1 letter of difference between the names... kinda surprised that I can’t think of any others in this game this applies to yet. But now, on to the main impressions and thoughts on the chapter, with spoilers!
It feels like it’s been teased for so long now but it finally happened, Euden finally learns the secret that he has been a fake royal the entire time. And, as I had been thinking would be the case, the only one who really takes it hard is Euden himself.
Still, even when he fell into despair, he didn’t just immediately give up like other characters probably would have. Instead, he fell back onto the one constant in his life: Zethia, and doubled down. It’s been shown, to a worrying degree now, that he’d give up everything for her, and in this case he’s reduced to blind rage and desperation in the face of Nedrick’s power.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And when brute force fails him, he even lashes out at at his friends for retreating and leaving Zethia behind when there’s no other choice. And Euden doesn’t swear much, so even how he says a simple hell to Notte feels like a big deal, coming from him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still, he’s able to be talked down soon enough, realizes what a jerk he’s being, and with a good pep talk, while he is certainly not okay (and does let his team know this thankfully,) he is able to put himself together enough to start taking that next step with his friends at his side, ending the chapter on at least a semi-positive note. The next chapter seems to be promising a meetup with Leonidas so we may find out what it was Aurelius wanted him to know and get that next piece of the puzzle soon. And again, this likely is new information that we don’t already know. I think we’ve gone as far as we can with the documents that have been plaguing us for so many interludes now.
And speaking of which... that Nedrick is one slick, slippery serpent for getting away with that tome/seal trick. I’m not doubting the seal’s authenticity and that he got it to glow, but I am saying this doesn’t prove anything about his lineage. Why? Because he dodged the most important question about the 7th scion that only the real one could answer: How is he still alive?
Tumblr media
Instead of addressing Cleo’s critical point, Nedrick uses the activation of the seal as his proof. Making the association fallacy of, “Since the seal reacts for me and not your precious Prince, who else could I be but the 7th scion?”
Tumblr media
Nedrick certainly talks big throwing around the term “incontrovertible proof”, but he’s talking just like an Ace Attorney culprit whose claims are built upon a throne of lies. And my thoughts in how he’s getting away with it involve exactly how the seal is activated: royal blood!
This could mean that he is royalty, as he claims, but what if any royal blood just has to be present on whoever holds the book? What if just having some royal blood smeared on the holder’s hands, or drinking it like some kind of vampire, is enough to trick the seal into working, like getting around a biometric lock? If so, Nedrick could’ve gotten all the blood he needed to pull this off while he was beating down Valyx earlier at the start of this chapter. Nedrick certainly seemed assured that the seal would’ve worked for Valyx even in his injured state when he mocked Euden after it didn’t work for him. I’m thinking that’s exactly how he pulled it off, just to make a statement and to crush Euden’s spirit.
Though in the end, even if I’m holding fast to my own theory on Nedrick, just as it doesn’t truly matter in the grand scheme of things that Euden isn’t royalty (he can still make dragonpacts and shapeshift and his friends have his back no matter what,) it also doesn’t matter if Nedrick is a faker or not. Now that he’s stolen Zethia, shaken Euden’s faith, and turned his attention to outside the country, he doesn’t need to uphold the ruse any further as he’s gotten all he needs from Alberia. I suppose the Agito could react horribly if they learn their leader’s a liar, but given their insane worldviews and that he is the source of their powers they probably wouldn’t care either if it meant they could still wreak all the havoc they desire.
Regardless, we also finally have a glimpse of Nedrick’s plan. It involves Zethia, and one of the Shards holding the evils of the world at bay. And while Nedrick did mention how there are other factions scheming right now including the Phares/Beren duo and the Illian Church, it’s sounding like he’s picking right back up where Morsayati left off if he’s messing with a holy shard. Oddly enough, he didn’t mention Harle in that list of schemers, which means to me that either Harle’s helping him out a bit (which would explain how the Agito knew where to find the tome, since Harle had originally taken it from the palace in the first place, and might’ve even handed it to the church to jumpstart their supposed schemes too), or he’s gone unnoticed/is considered irrelevant. Either way, it means to me that the likelihood that Harle is continuing to play everyone for saps as he steadily creeps closer toward his own ambitions is getting higher and higher with every update.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the game will continue to grow. The plot really could go anywhere from a point like this, and not just in the main story. Even if they don’t cross into the main plot, each new adventurer and event have tons of things going on with all the variety in their individual stories, as well as the longer overarching ones like the political intrigues of the Hinomoto clans, the Qilin relics, the Eldritch Horror gang (Heinwald, Curran, Lathna, et al.), the nefarious Syndicate, possibly reformed fiends eventually (like Mei Hou Wang and Barbary), the collab events... the possibilities feel endless! With the second anniversary coming up at the end of September I’m sure they’ve got some big plans brewing. And given how last year’s anniversary event turned out, I can’t wait to see what comes next!

"Frontier Gentleman" - Ten Great Episodes
Frontier Gentleman, the story of an English reporter traveling the wild west, premiered on this day in 1958. Along with Gunsmoke, it's one of the best "adult western" dramas of the radio era. While the entire series (an unfortunately too-short run of 41 episodes) is well worth a listen, here are ten episodes that – if you’re new to the show – are a great place to start.
“Kendall’s Last Stand” – It’s the eve of the Battle of the Little Big Horn, and Kendall, a small party of soldiers, and an Indian scout break off from the 7th cavalry under the command of General Custer. But Kendall and company may meet the same fate as Custer and his men after they’re pinned down by a war party. With limited ammunition, Kendall and the scout seek refuge with a brave widow in her cabin, and they face a long night with their adversaries lurking outside. (Originally aired on CBS on February 23, 1958)
“The Powder River Kid” – Kendall comes across an infamous gunfighter and robber, but the man is wounded and succumbing to gangrene. Knowing his time is running out, the man asks Kendall to kill him and collect the reward on his head so his wife can collect the money. This one features a great supporting performance from Larry Dobkin as the Powder River Kid, and the story is a perfect example of the drama that could come from a well-written “adult western.” (Originally aired on CBS on April 6, 1958)
“The Trial” (also known as “Kendall for the Defense”) – J.B. Kendall, reporter, becomes J.B. Kendall, attorney in this humorous story of a murder trial held in a makeshift saloon courtroom. There’s a defendant who refuses to surrender his shootin’ irons, a hostile judge, and a dubious eyewitness that Kendall must overcome to see that justice is served. (Originally aired on CBS on April 13, 1958)
“Aces and Eights” – This is my pick for the best episode of the series. Kendall makes his way to Deadwood just in time to grab a seat at the table for the west’s most infamous game of poker. He meets legends Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane, and he gets the chance to see the real people behind the tall tales. If you’ve ever wondered why “aces and eights” is known as a “dead man’s hand,” this story will give you the answer. (Originally aired on CBS on April 20, 1958)
“Random Notes” – Another great episode with several stories in one. Kendall is taking the stagecoach and takes advantage of the time to recount some of the tales that didn’t make it into his regular reports. He’s in the audience for an amateur western production of Othello, he witnesses a duel between two women fighting over the same man, he talks to a condemned killer, and he watches as a Chinese shopkeeper gets the last laugh on a group of men who try to cheat him. (Originally aired on CBS on April 27, 1958)
“School Days” (also known as “Duel for a School Marm”) – Kendall has barely arrived in a town before he’s being pressed into voting for a schoolhouse. The town and its rival city are competing for the attentions of a beautiful young teacher – even though the towns are devoid of children. The teacher doesn’t appreciate the predicament and the fact that the men of the towns are willing to go to war to get their educations. (Originally aired on CBS on June 1, 1958)
“Gambling Lady” – Jeanne Bates gives a great performance and has tremendous chemistry with John Dehner in this story of a new gambling palace run by the mysterious “Madam Verdi.” As Kendall becomes fascinated with this beautiful, independent western woman, her secret (and deadly) past resurfaces with tragic results. Bates would return as Madam Verdi, also known as “Belle Siddons,” in a memorable three-part episode later in the series’ run. (Originally aired on CBS on June 29, 1958)
“Justice of the Peace” – In this powerful episode, Kendall meets one of the few women acting as a justice of the peace on the frontier (voiced brilliantly by Paula Winslowe) and he witnesses firsthand as she stands up to a mob hoping to lynch her prisoner – an Indian accused of murder. (Originally aired on CBS on July 13, 1958)
“Mighty Mouse” and “Mighty Tired” – One of the things that I love about Frontier Gentleman is its continuity. Characters recur, Kendall’s previous adventures are referenced, and sometimes stories stretch across multiple episodes. In this two-parter, a stagecoach carrying Kendall and a miner is robbed. A blustery lawman is on the case, but all he manages to do is let the thieves (later revealed to be Jesse James and his gang) slip through his fingers. In the follow-up story, Kendall and his miner friend get a chance for justice when they spot some of the robbers on a train. (Originally aired on CBS on July 20 and July 27, 1958).
Check out this episode!

Another concept for Ace Attorney 7:
Taking place one year after “Spirit of Justice”, a massive prison riot occurs in a prison holding several villains who were defeated by Phoenix, Apollo, Athena, and company. Orchestrated by the mysterious main antagonist of the game, the prison riot results in several criminals being set free. Among the criminals is Redd White, who was still serving a life sentence for the murder of Mia Fey (it’s explained that he used his upper-class status to avoid the death penalty, resulting in him getting a life sentence).
Hearing news about Redd White’s escape, Diego Armando, who is serving a life sentence in a different prison, hatches his own prison break just to stop Redd White. After making it out of prison, he meets Phoenix and Apollo and teams up with them to go after Redd White and the villain responsible for the main prison break.
So the 7th game technically has two main villains, Redd White and the person responsible for the prison break. Diego takes down Redd White while Phoenix, Apollo, and Athena take down the mastermind behind the operation.
Some miscellaneous notes about this hypothetical 7th game:
1) Diego, after taking down Redd White, surrenders to the police. However, instead of being sent back to prison, he’s picked up by a returning Franziska von Karma who says she’s setting up a “shadow unit” to tackle corruption in the justice system and that Diego will be the first member. Basically...this is leading to the spin-off game “Attorney No More: Diego Armando, Ace Vigilante”, with Diego as the lead.
2) Mia Fey is channeled by either Pearl or Maya at a pivotal point in the final case. Diego says he wants to die so he could be with her, to which Mia says that it’s not his time yet (this is all lead-up to Ace Vigilante).
3) Phoenix, Apollo, and Athena are the playable characters for the courtroom levels while Diego is only playable for investigation levels. His special ability is his info-red vision.
4) There’s no new prosecutor for this game. Instead, the prosecutors switch off between Simon Blackquill and Klavier Gavin.
5) Aura Blackquill makes her return in this game. As a retcon, it’s revealed Aura and Diego were friends in college but fell out of touch after graduation. Aura pursued a career in robotics engineering while Diego went to law school. We also get a flashback scene where Mia Fey visits Diego in the hospital right after being poisoned by Dahlia Hawthorne and encounters Aura. (side note, all of this leads to Aura appearing as a major character in Ace Vigilante)
6) Trucy Wright develops a love for coffee after meeting Diego and does the magically-appearing-mug-of-coffee trick that Diego does. When Apollo asks where she got the coffee from, Trucy just walks away and, with Godot’s jazz theme playing in the background, tells him a convoluted metaphor about how a magician never reveals their secrets.

Let’s be honest: It would be kinda cool if lil’ ol’ Junie became a forest ranger, taking care of the plants and animals and stuff like that.
As a druid, she has 2 specials, which can be upgraded with gold:
Wall of Gaia: Juniper summons a long stretch of thorny vines in a straight line, which extend to the edge of the arena or until they hit a wall. Any enemy who is in this line is trapped until it goes away 2 turns later, and this wall cannot be walked on or over. Upgrade once to allows allies to pass through the wall, upgrade twice to give the wall a damage output of 50 per turn with armor piercing, and upgrade a third time to allow the line to go forwards and backwards from Juniper. (3 turn recharge)
Terra Shell: Juniper gives a shield of earth to all allies within 4 spaces, which makes them immune to all damage and negative effects for 1 turn. Upgrade once to increase to 2 turns, upgrade twice to increase to 3 turns, and upgrade a third time to increase to 4 turns. (2 turn recharge)
As a ranger, she has 2 specials, which can be upgraded with gold:
Forest Call: Juniper calls forth a variety of forest animals that attack enemies for 2 turns. The animals vary from bears, which are tank but slow, deer, fast but weak, and some birds, who give buffs and debuffs through song. After the 2 turns, they leave the battlefield. Upgrade once to increase to 3 turns, upgrade twice to increase the amount of damage the animals do, and upgrade a third time to increase to 4 turns. (5 turn recharge)
Trickster Allure: Juniper attracts all enemies within 3 spaces towards her, then deals 300 damage to all of them with armor piercing, and blows them back 7 spaces. Upgrade once to increase to 320 damage, upgrade twice to increase to 5 space range, and upgrade a third time to increase to 350 damage.
Some battle quotes:
“L-let’s go everybody!” (starting turn)
“Thena... i’m scared...” (badly damaged, paired up with Athena)
“I’ll help you! Don’t worry!” (heals teamate)
“Oh thank goodness, it’s over...” (victory)
aaand thats all for junie. Next up is a little secret I’ve been planning. Credit goes to @buttlerina for the AU! Keep it up!

The official themes for Narumitsu Week 2017 have been finalized! They are as follows:
Day 1- Opposites [July 1st]
Defense attorney and prosecutor, like the sun and moon, blue and red, spring and winter... In what ways are Phoenix and Edgeworth different? As long as Phoenix and Edgeworth are shown as two ‘opposites’ in your work, it fits the theme.
Day 2- Holidays [July 2nd]
How is Edgeworth handling Christmas now? How is Thanksgiving in the Wright Anything Agency? Do they carve pumpkins at Halloween? Let’s get festive- anything showing Phoenix and Edgeworth during any holiday is fair game.
Day 3- Narumitsu Day (Free Day) [July 3rd]
It’s 7/3! That’s the official Narumitsu day. There’s no theme on this day- let your imagination run wild!
Day 4- Languages [July 4th]
Languages are a tricky thing. Spoken and unspoken, there are lots of ways we communicate in our everyday lives. How do Edgeworth and Phoenix communicate? What verbal languages do Edgeworth and Phoenix know, and how does this play into their relationship? Do they have an unspoken language all their own?
Day 5- All SOJ Day [July 5th]
Spirit of Justice, the newest release in the mainline Ace Attorney series, doesn’t have much content. Let’s change that!  What were Phoenix and Edgeworth doing during SOJ era and beyond?
Day 6- Secrets [July 6th]
Even best friends keep secrets from each other. What’s one thing Phoenix or Edgeworth is keeping from the other? The secret can be as small or large as you want. This can be anywhere from silly to full of angst- it’s your choice!
Day 7- Nature [July 7th]
Only three flowers, huh, Phoenix? It must get stuffy cooped up in their offices all day. Let’s put our favorite duo in nature! Hiking, picnics... or maybe even taking care of their plants.
Day 8- AU/Crossovers [July 8th]
Hey! It’s Ace Attorney! Or... is it? Let’s mix it up and put the lawyers in a universe that’s a little (or a lot!) different then the one we know. What if Phoenix was actually a phoenix? How would these two fare in the universe of your favorite show? Now’s the time to find out!

Bestselling writers Ace Atkins and Neil White will be joined by top literary agents, publicists, and editors to present a two-day seminar, Write and Publish Your Book.
The event will be held at The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum on April 7th and 8th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Conference director Neil White said, “we target those authors writing, or about to publish, a book.”
White, whose bestselling memoir In the Sanctuary of Outcasts was published by HarperCollins, also owns a small press, The Nautilus Publishing Company.
The 2016 conference features New York Times bestselling fiction writer Ace Atkins.
“Ace has been a finalist for every major literary award in the crime fiction genre,” White said. “The attendees are in for special time with Ace.”
Other session leaders include book publicist Julie Schoerke, literary agent Jeff Kleinman, and copyeditor extraordinaire Karen Bryant.
White said, “We want emerging authors to understand how the process works whether they are publishing with a New York publishing house, a small press, or contemplating self-publishing.” White added, “We take the mystery out of the process.”
Julie Schoerke, president of Nashville-based literary publicity firm JKS Communications, said, “Neil White reveals publishing secrets that no one else talks about. Anyone planning to write, or publish, a book simply must attend his workshop.”
“It’s harder and harder to get the attention of traditional publishing firms,” White continued, “but the opportunities for independent publishers expand every day.”
White noted that in 2014, self-published books accounted for 34% of the Top 100 books sold on Amazon.com.
The two-day seminar is scheduled for Jackson on April 7 and 8th. Full details and locations are listed at http://ift.tt/2mxNDeu.
Past Success
White started the Write & Publish Your Book workshop in 2012. Since that time, sixteen attendees have seen their books published.
Former CNN Anchor Schatzie Brunner, whose memoir was published in 2016, said,  “The workshop is a weekend jam-packed with more information than a writer could possibly imagine.”
Gulfport attorney Michael Hewes, whose novel Watermark hit Amazon.com’s Hot New Releases, added. “I don’t think I would have known where to begin if I hadn’t attend this workshop.”
Day 1: Writing Your Book
On Friday, attendees will spend the day learning about the art and craft of creative writing.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re writing mainstream fiction or a family history,” White said, “you want the writing to be compelling.”
Award-winning authors Ace Atkins and Neil White will lead discussions and exercises on creating vivid scenes, dialog, action, description, editing, and research.
Day One attendees will leave with a comprehensive list of resources, including editors, ghostwriters, proofreaders, and designers.
Day 2: Publishing Your Book
On Saturday, attendees will spend the day learning about the options for publishing their book. Some of the subjects covered in Day Two include royalties, agents, pitching your book, publicity, titles, covers, and the paths to publication.
Attendees will have the benefit of panels with top editors and authors, as well as a Skype session with one of the nation’s top agents.
Day Two attendees will leave with resources to self-publish, produce e-books, and produce print-on-demand books. In addition, each attendee will leave with an actual book proposal that garnered a six-figure advance from a Big Five publisher.
Registration & Cost
Online registration for the conference can be found at http://ift.tt/2m4KR4d. The cost for each day is $150; for both days, the fee is $250. Early registration discounts are open through Friday, April 14, 2016.
