So I’m pretty sure now that I am collecting the small set of Japanese Sega Ages 2500 games for the Playstation 2. My two newest games from this series of are Dragon Force (Vol. 18) and Alien Syndrome (Vol. 14). Putting me at a total of 16 of 33 Sega Ages 2500 titles. All in this order cost me $120 CAD (~$90 USD) with taxes and shipping. At these prices I’m going to take it slow and easy. At release (starting from 2003) they were budget games selling for 2500 Yen (~$20-$25 USD) each. I don’t want to break the bank and I don’t mind if I never get them all. I suspect there will be a significant language barrier with Dragon Force but check out that cover art! Yeah! A Golden Axe remake! Too bad it’s horrible... Personally this was the biggest let down for me from the SEGA Ages 2500 series on the PlayStation 2. Gorgeous polygons don’t beat out well done 16 bit pixel art. And this Golden Axe did not deliver gorgeous polygons. It really fell short in the graphics department.
