Why Your Event Needs a Modern Ticket Booking System
Tumblr media
In today's digital age, the success of an event hinges not only on the quality of the content and experience offered but also on the efficiency of the ticketing process. A modern ticket booking system is essential for ensuring a seamless experience for both organizers and attendees. Here are some compelling reasons why your event needs a contemporary ticket booking solution:
1. Enhanced Convenience
Modern ticket booking systems offer unparalleled convenience for both event organizers and attendees. With online and mobile ticketing options, attendees can easily purchase tickets from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for physical ticket outlets. This ease of access can lead to increased ticket sales and broader audience reach.
2. Streamlined Operations
A digital ticketing system simplifies event management by automating many administrative tasks. From tracking sales and managing seating arrangements to sending automated confirmations and reminders, these systems reduce the workload for event staff, allowing them to focus on other critical aspects of the event.
3. Real-Time Analytics and Reporting
One of the most significant advantages of a modern ticket booking system is access to real-time analytics. Event organizers can track ticket sales, monitor attendance trends, and analyze demographic data. This information is invaluable for making informed decisions, optimizing marketing strategies, and improving future events.
4. Secure Transactions
Security is a top priority for any event. Modern ticketing systems offer secure payment gateways and protect sensitive customer information. By ensuring secure transactions, you build trust with your attendees and reduce the risk of fraudulent activities.
5. Customization and Branding
A contemporary ticket booking platform allows for extensive customization, enabling you to align the ticketing process with your event's branding. From personalized ticket designs to branded email confirmations, these features help create a cohesive and professional experience for your attendees.
6. Seamless Integration
Modern ticket booking systems often integrate seamlessly with other tools and platforms, such as CRM systems, social media, and email marketing software. This integration streamlines operations, enhances marketing efforts, and improves overall event management efficiency.
7. Improved Attendee Experience
A smooth and user-friendly ticketing process is crucial for a positive attendee experience. Modern systems offer features like easy ticket transfers, digital tickets, and mobile scanning, which enhance convenience and reduce wait times at the event.
Investing in a modern ticket booking system is a strategic decision that can significantly impact the success of your event. By enhancing convenience, streamlining operations, and providing valuable insights, these systems are essential for delivering a seamless and memorable experience for both organizers and attendees.

Jungkook: Backstage (Intro)
Tumblr media
A concert ticket lost and found, a sweater ending up in your hands, a misunderstanding with security backstage - happy little accidents, as they turn out to be.
Tags/Warnings: Black Leopard Hybrid!Jungkook, Rockstar!Jungkook, Rusty Spotted Cat Hybrid!Reader, minor angst, major fluff, strangers to lovers, did I mention fluff, reader gets injured but only a bit, fainting, big cat kook, Dom!Kook, future smut
Length: short/mid
Additional Content: cuddles, Closer
•●━━━━━━━━━━••♡••━━━━━━━━━━●•
It's almost the end of the concert.
You're a little sweaty, and the scents all around you are becoming just a little overwhelming now, but honestly, you're having the fun of your life. It's your first ever concert, the first time you've been at an event like this, and although you're getting a few glances for your drastically different attire than most fan's, you're still very much happy to be here.
It was by pure luck, really- someone giving away their ticket without mentioning where exactly the spot was the ticket reserved, and you didn't have anything different to do, so you contacted them, asking for how much their like to sell it for.
You ended up getting it for free- only having to exchange it for a self-sewn dress of your collection you're selling online.
You've never seen the band up close like this, and you have to admit, by now you get why so many hybrids fall for the main singer up front. He's charming, tall, very handsome- and typically wild, just like one might expect from a rock band member like him. You've definitely caught his eye, thats for sure- though you believe it probably is just your appearance that stands out to him, pastel colored dress not really fitting the mostly black and silver color scheme most fans in the crowd are going for tonight.
Unbeknownst to you, it's not just that however.
You're jumping around so happily, singing along even when the lyrics seem to slip your mind, not even once pulling out your phone to record anything. He's mesmerized how much you seem to live in the moment, uncaring of capturing anything with something other than your eyes, your ears, your body and soul.
You've got the prettiest sparkling eyes he's ever seen, and while he's internally a little concerned over the fact that you seem short as heck, he can't help but be glad that his fan base consists of people who look out for one another. It's proven by the multiple times he can see people around you motioning towards each other to be careful not to accidentally hit you with their phones or similar.
You're pretty, and he internally becomes disappointed when he has to think about reality here. There's no way in hell someone this pretty is single, and also, there's no chance he'll be seeing you again after this concert. It's a little sad- but he takes you as an example.
Enjoy the moment, instead of worrying how to capture it.
So he sings his heart out, performs even wilder than usual, puts on a show for you so you'll have exciting memories of him. And maybe not only that- because when he takes of his Hoodie that's honestly become way too hot to perform in, he makes sure to throw it into your direction- unable to keep himself from laughing ablittle to himself at your wide eyes staring at the black fabric drenched in his scent.
The lights fo dark not even an hour later- concert finished, fans slowly leaving the venue to go home. Nit you however, because-
Well, you can't just steal the singer's clothes now, can you? What if they put you in jail?
"This is staff only, miss." A tall security guard says, his coworker next to him blocking the backstage area. They're intimidating you a little (a lot), but you try to stand your ground as best as you can.
"I know- I just, I have this? And I wanted to give it back?" You ask, making the two security guards walk closer, now clearly more firm in their approach.
"Listen, cut the act and just go home." The man says, pointing past your face behind you- an action that makes you flinch. "Or do I have to escort you out?"
"What's going on?" A male voice is heard, and you can spot the singer from the stage now in between the two men. "Oh?"
"I-uh-" you stutter, absolutely unprepared for the black Leopard's eyes on you, the big cat hybrid a lot more intimidating up close. Or maybe it's his scent making you dizzy in the head. Yeah, that might be it. "I wanted to- that's yours? Right?" You ask, holding out the sweater in your hands. He nods, one of his black ears flicking in curiosity between his dark hair.
"Yeah. Threw it your way- you don't want it?" He wonders, almost with a bit of disappointment in his voice. He should've known. Your partner might not appreciate someone else's scent all over you- he himself for sure wouldn't like it.
"I- uh?" You now pull it back towards you, looking down at it. "So it's- it's supposed to be mine now?" You wonder, and he laughs, unable to hide how fuzzy you make him feel with your confused noises and cute manners.
"You can take it home, it's yours if you want it." He nods, stepping a bit closer now, uncaring of the way the security guards become more tense. "That is, if your mate is okay with that. Might piss him off, you know, considering I've sweat quite a bit." He chuckles. You look up at him with wide eyes and red cheeks.
"I- no, I don't have a mate-" you start, now pretty much hugging the sweater. "-a roommate, yeah, but she's- she won't mind, I'm sure!" You say, and he nods.
"Just, you know, so we don't get into some criminal shit here- can I ask your age?" He wonders, and you nod- replying easily.
"Uhm, twenty-four." You answer, and his eyes widen.
"Really? You're not shitting me?" He asks, and you nod.
"I look a lot younger because of my hybrid genes and all that." You shrug. "But yeah." You nod and he sighs in relief. He was worried for a split second he might be getting the hots for a minor of all things.
"I'm glad then." He says, carefully taking the sweater from your hands, before untangling it in front of you, your eyes unable to break free from the sight of the silver rings on his fingers. And then- its dark.
He's careful as he helps your head and arms through the designated holes in the sweater, and can't help but feel his pulse quicken at the sight of you pretty much drowning in the large sized garment he'd worn just a few hours prior. "Its cold tonight. So, you know. And now you stink like me, so you're also safe from any pervert that might plan on snatching a pretty cat tonight as well." He tells you lowly, and you feel yourself shiver at his tone. You nod.
"Thank you." You nod, bowing politely. "You- tonight's concert was really fun. You all did great. I'm really happy I got to experience it." You say, and he smiles your way.
"Thank you." He responds kindly. "You.. know what could make me happy now?" He asks, and you tilt your head to the side-
An action so cute he considers kidnapping for a split second, before he gets a grasp of his sanity again. "What?" You ask, and he shrugs, digging in his pant pocket for his phone.
"If I could have your number?" He asks, and your eyes widen. "No creepy shit, promise! I swear, big cat promise!" He jokes, making you chuckle.
"Okay." You say, and he nods, attempting to put his phone away, before he realizes you've agreed.
"Okay- Okay! Yeah, alright, fuck yeah, lemme just-" he taps away while you take out your own phone from your bunny plush backpack, before giving it to him. "You seem awfully trusting." He comments as he types in his number.
"People tend to scold me for it." You shrug.
"Rightfully so." He nods. "Gets me all protective over you already." He winks, and you shrink in on yourself a little, overwhelmed by his flirting. "Sorry, I'll let you go now. Text me though when you're in your hotel or something, otherwise I might worry." He says, and you nod, leaving the concert venue eagerly to get back to your hotel.
He gets teased left and right by his bandmates backstage for his actions, but quite honestly, he doesn't care.
Not when he receives your message an hour later, telling him you're in your hotel now, the text message decorated with creative emojis that make him grin and his tail wag like he's a dog at this point. There's really no denying it at this point.
Jeon Jungkook has a crush.
And he couldn't fucking care less.

So apparently AEW pays well and that's bad?
I know a couple of current WWE folks who definitely got better contracts simply because AEW existed and, thus, created a world where people might jump ship and go somewhere else.
But yeah, I don't know, people are fuckin' crazy. That said, with all of the recent free agent talk going around and that article that is all "WWE needs to look in the mirror about why they keep losing free agents to AEW," I think that's a little off the mark.
Like, yes, in a theoretical, big-picture kind of way the WWE should probably ask themselves why people would want to work anywhere else. And they can chalk it up to "well, we've had some negative press lately" or "this person just didn't want to work as many dates" or whatever. Each case will be different. But I think in the three recent cases cited, there are very real life reasons why none of those three would go with WWE. It's great that the offer from AEW was better and, honestly, I think those signees will easily find more success in AEW than they would in WWE.
Like let's not kid ourselves here: WWE could have offered Okada a fuckton of money, but would he actually make a meaningful mark in the WWE? He'd come in, the announcers would have to spend a ton of time educating the audience on why he matters because most of their audience doesn't watch anything else, and he'd probably just end up being the next foreign heel. The types of great matches he had in NJPW aren't really the kinds of things that WWE is looking for or especially needs more of. They'd probably rush him into a main event program for three months or so and then do something embarrassing with him. He'd be tagging with Nakamura in a team with a vaguely racist-sounding name or something shitty like that. He'd be another amazing performer in search of a meaningful storyline and the WWE's midcard is fucking stuffed full of guys like that right now. He'd be losing to Karrion Kross by Survivor Series.
Tack on the notion that WWE's business is doing really well and they're selling tickets everywhere they go and inventing new, more evil forms of revenue all the time and it's easy to see that WWE doesn't need Okada. They need to be making sure that they have a fresh crop of young talent ready to take over when the current headliners fall off or move on. At 36, Okada isn't quite that guy.
However, Okada is a great fit for AEW and its audience. Too good, actually. I mean I don't think he'll be a "needle mover" on the ratings because anyone in this country who knows who Okada even is already watches AEW. They're super-serving their audience. They're "building golden toilets" for their fanbase. As someone who really likes that shit, I'm stoked. But the weirdo ratings nuts online who live and die by television ratings are melting down over "is Okada a draw or not" or something. And I think it'd probably be obvious to anyone who really sat down and thought about it that Okada wasn't ever going to drag in a whole new American audience.
I'd say mostly the same thing about Ospreay. He'd become the leader of the Catch Wrestling Crew or whatever the fuck they're called now.
The other thing I'd say is that, over time, a better program will probably attract a larger audience. So AEW's programming is better by way of these new signings. They're great performers and I think they both have the ability to be super big in the US for years to come, provided they're working somewhere that plays to their strengths.
Bringing Sasha Banks over to AEW has a chance to bring in new audience since she had a level of fame here in the States already and, hey, maybe fans of hers weren't already watching AEW. It's possible! Punk did it, right? We'll see. That might immediately make her more valuable than Ospreay and Okada. That said, there are already a ton of women that I'd love to see more of on AEW TV, so inserting another star at the top of that division kinda rubs me the wrong way.
Either way, I think these three specific cases are, well, specific enough that trying to use this to claim that WWE is "losing out" on this free agency stuff is probably wrong. They know how much they're willing to spend on an individual talent, they've been at this long enough to have a pretty good idea how some of these people are likely to monetize once they get there, and they're simply not going to overspend on any talent anymore because they're really focused on trying to bring in new talent and raise them up through their system. For all we know, AEW overspent on all three.
But they aren't spending my money, so fuck it! It's awesome! I only get mad when the people I want to see are locked behind the ROH paywall. Like Athena! Put her on real TV, she's fantastic! What the fuck!

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 14: DREAM CATCHER - Episode 25: Full Power Ad Campaign
Tumblr media
Izumi: (The performance is finally opening this weekend, but ticket sales are…)
Izumi: Uhhh…
Izumi: (They’ve increased since our last meeting, but weekdays are still are over the place.)
Izumi: (It’s honestly kinda scary that we can’t sell out, even with Tenma-kun’s clout…)
Izumi: There has been an increase not only in announcements for performances, but also special events, and when you add streaming into the mix, there’s no avoiding dispersion.
Izumi: (Since it’s come to this, we’ll definitely need an advertising campaign… I should consult Masumi-kun as well.)
Izumi: (I’d also like to increase our social media exposure for the New Fleur Award–)
[Flashback starts]
Ibuki: Sometimes I take long videos, edit them and upload them, but nowadays, most people mindlessly scroll through short videos, so they’re all hits.
[Flashback ends]
Izumi: — —
-
Kumon: Ah, there’s an article about the dress rehearsal!
Kazunari: Everyone got the job done as fast as always~
Yuki: Looks like it’s mostly well-received.
Misumi: … Grandpa, it’s almost time.
Muku: It must be nice to be able to talk to Hakkaku-san any time you want.
Misumi: Yup!
Izumi: Everyone, could I have some of your time?
Tenma: What’s up?
Izumi: I know this is very last minute, but I’d like for you to shoot a promotional video wearing your costumes.
Kazunari: Alrighties!
Kumon: What’re we doing? What’re we doing?
Muku: Uh, ummm, uhhh, some kind of one-shot?
Kumon: Imitation?
Misumi: Somersaults!
Tenma: Would that even count as advertising? It’d be better as a highlight.
Kazunari: More people are gonna want to look if there’s movement~
Yuki: Then how about a highlight digest?
-
Izumi: Yeah, this is perfect! I’ll upload it ASAP. Thanks, you guys!
Misumi: You’re welcome~!
Izumi: I hope this will get more people to come to watch… But there sure is a lot of competition.
Kazunari: Everyone’s been promoing all over Veludo Way lately~
Kumon: Ah, then–
-
Tenma: The opening performance for “Water me!! ~The 333-Year Promise~” is today!
Muku: We’re from MANKAI Company! Thank you very much!
Izumi: Never thought we’d be handing out flyers right before the performance…
Kumon: I thought it’d be a good warm up!
Kazunari: And we stand out since we’re wearing our costumes~
Yuki: If they get dirty, you’ll be cleaning them up yourselves.
Kumon: We’ll be careful…!
Misumi: “Water me!! ~The 333-Year Promise~” begins today~!
Passerby A: Ohhh, this starts today.
Passerby B: Oh, I checked it out, but forgot to buy a ticket!
Passerby A: There’s so many I want to see lately, making plans is like trying to make puzzle pieces fit.
Izumi: There are still available seats for weekdays, so feel free to buy a ticket!
Passerby B: I’m making a reservation online as we speeeaak—
[Bump]
Passerby B: —*gasp*
Misumi: Are you okay~?
Passerby B: The flyers…! I’m so sorry, I’ll pick them up!
Muku: It’s okay, we’ll gather them all.
Kazunari: Be careful~
Passerby: I’m really so sorry! Good luck at your performance!
Kazunari: Thankieees~!
Misumi: I’ll go pick up the flyers that went that way~!
Izumi: Thanks, I’ll leave it to you.
-
Tumblr media
???: … A flyer?
???: MANKAI Company…
Café owner: Ah, good morning, Kureha-kun.
Café owner: I have to go shopping real quick, so can I leave the shop to you? We don’t have any customers at the moment.

i'm genuinely still trying to wrap my head around the Woody interview pricing...i get that it's a more intimate event? smaller crowd and venue, better view of the artists and all that, but the KP world tour show in Bangkok had ticket prices lower than that 😭 albeit, it's the lowest pricing for the nosebleed seats, but to charge that much for a less than 2 hour sit down interview (that they'll be posting online) is kind of shocking. since people are saying it's a new thing that Woody has been doing, the first being Jackson's, do we know how the ticketing for that went? (I mean, he's a kpop idol so i assume it sold well, but also Jackson isn't quite at the peak of his career anymore so i'm curious)
also, a part of me almost wishes the interview would have been done in a private setting instead of a stage 🥲 i don't think MA will be any less genuine onstage, but an audience does exude its own pressures and distractions.
So it took a little while for me to dig up for a Jackson but
Tumblr media
there were only two ticketing prices to see Jackson. however, the theatre was smaller: 1455 seats.
Rough estimate calculation of that (looks like 50-50 tier pricing) is that's 4.35M THB in net profit. again, mileapo have already sold 5.8M THB worth of tickets. they've sold more tickets and netted more profit, and can continue to sell more tickets.
so genuinely. we don't need to worry 😅
and Jackson doesn't promote that much in Thailand unlike MileApo. like literally they were just at a free event at the mall... so the appeal is there. let's not wring our hands anymore about this.
also apparently here are the potential bonus gifts:
Tumblr media
Woody also posted this to his IGS which was reposted by Apo
Tumblr media
in the middle of preparing Script Woody FM On Stage..During Jackson’s episode there were a lot of moments happened no matter whether they’re the deepest questions, questions from fans and numerous surprises which is gonna make it more fun than watching a concert. The issue here is On Stage with Mile Apo has to be the most Wow..then see you soon❤️

'Thousands of movie fans are planning to explore both the neon pink world of “Barbie” and the complicated mind of J. Robert Oppenheimer on the same day.
Thousands of AMC Stubs members have bought tickets for both films on the same day ahead of their premieres on July 21.
“That more than 20,000 moviegoers have already made plans and purchased tickets to see Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day is a great sign that the growing online conversation around seeing both of these incredible films is turning into ticket sales,” Elizabeth Frank, executive VP of worldwide programming and chief content officer at AMC Theatres told Variety this week.
Though, according to Variety, how the number compares to average purchase rates is unclear.
Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" — starring Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon and Emily Blunt — is a three-hour epic thriller about the American physicist and his role in developing the atomic bomb during World War II. "Barbie," directed by Greta Gerwig, is a comedy about the life of Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) in Barbie Land and their journey to the real world.
The double feature of the contrasting blockbusters has become an internet phenomenon known as, “Barbieheimer,” with fans creating their own black-and-pink memes, apparel and movie posters of the two films.
The Avon Theatre Film Center in Stamford is screening the two films starting on July 20 and pre-sale tickets are selling faster than normal, Louisa Greene, director of marketing and development for the theater, said.
"There's a lot of buzz [and] a lot of excitement from Avon patrons about both films," she said.
The Avon is hosting its own Barbie and Ken costume contest for theatergoers at its 5:20 and 7:45 p.m. "Barbie" screenings on July 20, during which attendees will enter on a mini-red carpet and present their costumes the judges. The winners from each screening will win the theater's bronze membership package: free movies for a year for two people. The theater will also have a 3 p.m. screening that day.
The venue is also partnering with the Greenwich International Film Festival for a screening of "Oppenheimer" at 7 p.m. that evening, she said.
Greene believes the two divergently different films share qualities that appeal a wide range of movie fans. Both have big-name directors and casts, she said. "Oppenheimer" is a historical drama about events that are still relevant today, while "Barbie" is a comedy that could spark nostalgia among viewers, she said.
Warner Brothers predicts that "Barbie" will see a $70 to $80 million opening at the box office, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Universal Studios is tracking around $40 million for the "Oppenheimer" debut.
Prospector Theater in Ridgefield is also hosting screenings of the two films on July 20 and it has sold most of the tickets for both events, Ren Burkardt, the theater manager, said.
"The weekend is already looking like it's picking up as well. People are very excited," she said.
The theater employees plan to decorate the lobby pink that weekend and dress up in Barbie-themed outfits, Burkardt said. KC 101 radio station will also stop by from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday to give away items, she said.
In partnership with The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, the theater will host a live virtual conversation right before the "Oppenheimer" screening with artist and director Bryan McGovern Wilson and artist and curator Richard Klein. The two will discuss Wilson's "Oppenheimer Ghost" exhibit, a replica of Oppenheimer's hat that is positioned in uranium glass, the event description says. The exhibit will be on display in the museum until Aug. 27, according to the museum.
"I just want to encourage everyone to come to the movies. The experience is completely different in person with friends and family and all the excitement of a busy lobby than anything else," Burkardt said.
National movie theater chains with venues in Connecticut also have special deals for the two movies. AMC Theatres is offering Stubs members the chance to win a Barbie-themed vacation and bonus points for those going to see "Oppenheimer." AMC has locations in Norwalk, Stamford, Trumbull, Danbury, Plainville, Southington and Lisbon, according to its website.
Cinemark is currently selling "Barbie" movie merchandise in theaters. These items can include beach ball cups, a popcorn tin and blanket, according to the theater chain's Instagram. Cinemark theaters are located in Enfield, Manchester, Milford and North Haven.'

A thoughts on a tale of trying to see F1 live in the next year: a very upset fan rant.
My home GP, tickets having recently gone on sale. Great! I think. It’s the weekend of my birthday, I’ll treat myself. And it’s a big treat myself, because I’d be having to travel to go.
The grandstand tickets: last year it was surge priced and not at all what was initially disclosed, which is borderline illegal (and I suspect will remain the same). All good ones this year tied up in $6000+ experience packages. I have a chronic illness that makes GA not an option, unless I want to hang around for as long as I can tolerate it and accept that I may have to leave mid race, which considering that I have to travel to attend is not a good option.
The hospitality tickets: all even remotely reasonable ones gone in two seconds. Everything else is over $3000, and I’m not game to buy certain ones because the weather is very unpredictable. Except if you’re a business - mysteriously, there are still openings for businesses to host parties in places that are “allocation exhausted” for us plebeians regular fans.
I think to myself, damn, I can’t really afford this. Let’s see what’s on in my city that weekend:
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Everything is in the other city where the race is. Not even a watch party that I can find. And I don’t have irl friends who are into formula 1, so I’m not even able to host a watch party or something like that for a race falling over my own damn birthday weekend.
I think and dream and hope that I can go to the GP in person, knowing that the tickets are insane, even just for Sunday, and speak to my family. They’re even willing to chip in and make it my birthday present. I do the math, and to fly to the city, stay there and see the race is over $6000. That is the price of a nice international round trip flight. That is nothing to sneeze at.
So I research. I read everything I can about the place I was trying to get a ticket for, and find out that most of the hospitality tickets for this race are consistently bought out by corporate and business shmoozers whose employees get to go for free and try and sell each other shit while having not a single fuck to give about the race. Reviewers and online comments consistently convey that these people are not there for the race, and they don’t care for any part of the technical side of the sport: you will not be among fans. Moreover, it’s implied that the free booze et al. is what many of them are actually there for. It’s kind of hateful as a fan to know this is what is playing out; and that genuine fans of a sport are being priced out of the best seats by businesses and corporate TM who do not give a fuck about racing. Knowing I’d be attending alone, a horrible thought races in the back of my mind about the incident a few years back with the woman supporting Mercedes who was assaulted by drunken men Redbull supporters in the grandstands. Throw in the fact that I know cell signal at these events is often appalling, I’m not feeling overly confident or comfortable for my personal safety. Being alone and in this situation that could potentially turn shoddy very quickly is suddenly sounding highly unappealing despite the fact that I love this sport and this is supposed to be my birthday present.
The nail in the coffin is that the accomodation is almost as much as the hospitality ticket. It’s not particularly nice accomodation either, but everything is booked out only days after the first tickets were released and the hotels are very aware of how much they can scalp on this weekend.
Ultimately and heartbreakingly, I decided that I absolutely cannot justify the cost. Especially as a woman travelling alone, it’s not worth it, and I’m not a woman who shies away from doing things alone. And I love this sport so damn much and I want to see it live, but it genuinely feels like the fans are being priced out. A part of me wonders whether the recession the government is currently pretending isn’t happening would make the tickets cheaper closer to the time; but the consensus online is generally that there aren’t any tickets available closer to the time for this race; and knowing what’s already gone down with the accommodation, that will get even worse closer to the time of the race. I actually think it will all get worse, as the state hosting the race is in dire economic straits and is really looking to squeeze cash out of anything that moves gather money by any means possible and the formula racing just happens to look like a huge paycheck.
I hate it. I hate it all. I just wanted to enjoy my favourite sport and the racing that happened to fall on the weekend of my birthday, live.

Regional Festivals won’t survive without support says Drag’d Out Beechworth
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/dragd-out-beechworth/
Regional Festivals won’t survive without support says Drag’d Out Beechworth
Drag’d Out Beechworth celebrates pride and diversity in regional Victoria, but that could all disappear without your support.
Now in its third year, this world-class drag festival takes over Beechworth in November, if ticket sales pick up.
“As with most festivals right now, we are seeing cancellation after cancellation. We don’t want to see that happen here.” Andy from Drag’d Out Beechworth told us.
“It’s not to say that tickets aren’t selling well, but the countdown is on, and we are nervous.”
Drag’d Out Beechworth sees talented drag artists from around Australia perform a jam-packed schedule of events for all to enjoy.
“Being a border town we are connected to so many larger communities surrounding us.”
“That’s why we always pack in as much as we can for families and all who attend.”
“Some people drive for the whole weekend while others just for the day or night, because everyone wants to see what’s on offer.”
Supplied
Showing up is nice, buying a ticket is nicer
Since the festival’s program was announced Beechworth accommodation packages for the weekend have been filling up.
Many people are sharing on socials that they are coming, but the festival’s ticket sales haven’t reflected that.
“We’d love it if people who have booked accommodation could also book their tickets.” Andy said.
“We know that times are tough at the moment which is why we have set up after pay for the ticketing purchases as well.”
“We know there is an influx of people coming to Beechworth that weekend to attend the festival, but the tickets aren’t representing that.”
“So, if anyone has accommodation in Beechworth can just jump online and secure those tickets, that would be terrific.”
Hosting 15 fabulous events across three days, one of the things that Andy is most excited about is the family-friendly elements of the festival.
“We have a lot of events that are free for kids, including a Welcome Party at Police Paddocks to kick the weekend off in style.”
“It’s a really inexpensive way for families to get their kids out and have some fun overekend.”
You can find out about the events for young people here.
“As part of their national tour, we are excited to have Fountain Lake’s in Lockdown coming to the festival.”
“They’re tailoring the production with a 4D experience with prizes for those who dress up. It’s going to be more interactive than the theater production.’
Supplied
‘We want this festival to survive’
“Every year we have people sharing stories that they go home and the kids are running round and dressing up and that’s the message we want to share, be who you want to be and be comfortable in your skin.”
“There’s a power to this festival and that’s why we want it to continue to succeed year in, year out.”
“The community support we have is exceptional, not just for the weekend but all year round.”
The team have worked hard behind the scenes to make sure all parts of our communities are represented.
The theme of this year’s Drag’d Out Beechworth is ‘inclusive’.
“We shot the promos for this year’s festival’s colour palette last year and wanted to make sure everyone is represented.”
“We want this festival to survive, we just need some help and for people to show a little bit more interest,” Andy said.
“This is not a commercial event in any way, shape or form. It is for the people, by the people.”
Drag’d Out Beechworth takes place from the 22nd – 24th November.

The third and fourth chapters in the A---Z programmed series Always Coming Home (in four Chapters) explores nostalgia, love, friendships and deep feelings.

After a short break, Philomène Pirecki will present an immersive live set followed by Abbas Zahedi’s performance.
Always Coming Home A new series of events for Matt’s Gallery, programmed by exploratory producing platform A—Z (Anne Duffau)
This series is the development of a recent research on the affect of visual and sound in narrative. Thinking of change and flux as part of speculative futures and world building as ways of expressing current socio-political issues and expanding from there to potential other paths. In line with this proposition, language, and other forms of expression, from the bodily to sound and the non-descriptive, are given a platform to create new ways of thinking and working together: explorations and considerations of embodied practices as political disruptions. Additionally, references and inspirations are worth mentioning: such as the “title-hommage” to the 1985 science fiction novel by Ursula K. Le Guin, where we follow the Kesh people, a cultural group who live in the distant future long after modern society has collapsed. And also the work by Pauline Oliveros with the Deep Listening method aiming to explore expanded consciousness – “Acoustic space is where time and space merge as they are articulated by sound.” A—Z aims to impose a collaborative, inclusive and critical practice/praxis – this demands a responsibility to decolonise programmes, build on positivity towards/and inclusivity in terms of gender and race discourses, and demonstrate openness, intersectional, responsive and critical juxtaposition methods.

Writing my thoughts here cuz I'm still mentally organizing this idea in my head
The idea: A small scale convention-like event in Seattle mostly about Valve games, sort of an extension of Meet the Mercs.
The main details: A single day event, likely from 11:00am to 8:00pm. Would likely be in the Grand Hyatt Seattle, like the first MtM, but now occupying two halls instead of just the one. One hall would feature 10-15 vendors selling Valve-focused merchandise, though other games are allowed. The other hall would be a stage area for panels, the autograph booths for the TF2 cast, and some table seating.
The financial stuff: Vendor booths would probably be around $75 for 10 x 10, $100 for 10 x 20. Tickets would probably be $50 with one free autograph included, similar to how we did MtM, or a regular admission being $25 or something like that. One Grand Hyatt Seattle hall was about $350 last time, so having two halls would be more costly. Keeping in mind talent cost and Robin's travel costs as well. This would not be cheap.
Marketing: Advertise online via social media, having the VAs and the cosplay community post about it. Hand out flyers about the event at local conventions in the months before the event itself. Probably build a carrd website for the event itself.
Other details: Have lanyards and badges to come with the tickets, featuring artwork made by the community. Possibly sell merchandise with the event logo as well? Although, most of that would rely on making back the production costs instead of contributing to the cost of the event itself. Panel space would be limited, but I'd rather give outsiders an opportunity to submit and possibly present a panel rather than have all the panels be solely presented by others working the show. We would need a lot of volunteers, and we would need to do interviews with them to make sure they're qualified.
I don't think this would be an annual con either. This would be a one and done event. I don't really see the need to do this annually since it's just a tiny little event.
