A raging headache greeted Sirius first thing as he came back into consciousness.

“What do you remember?”

Blinking awake, Sirius let his mind go over the blur of memories from last night. As soon as he did, his head protested and he groaned. His hand rose to his temple.

“Not much,” Sirius gritted.

The voice hummed, prompting him to continue.

“I was at… a party, which explains this dreadful hangover.” Sirius scrubbed his eyes and squinted as he adjusted to the sunlight. Everything was horribly bright. “Oh, wait! I remember snogging someone. No, hold on… I think we didn’t because I was too drunk or something. I can’t remember the name, but he was really pretty. Big brown eyes and all.”

“Please focus.”

“Alright, jeez. Well, I think he was with me the whole night. Kept me company, but that’s it. His hair looked soft and his eyes were really pretty too, James, you should've seen him.” He then paused at an abrupt thought. “And I’m quite sure he had angel wings as well.” A smirk rose to his lips, suddenly picturing blasphemous things with it.

“Right. Nothing else?”

A quick scene of the river from the top of the bridge and a blinding light flashed to the forefront of his mind.

Sirius shook his head. “No.” He didn’t need to talk about that weird dream. “See? I’m fine. I didn’t do anything I wouldn’t normally do.”

“Only because I was there to make sure of it.”

This woke Sirius up. That couldn't be James.

“Take care, Sirius.”

Then the sunlight decided it was done blinding him, Sirius sat up and found himself all alone.

And then instantly, “I’d better go and put in some piano practice.” You fucking addict. Linda, what are you getting yourself into, girly?

“Actually, we’re going on a farm in Scotland.” “I’d love to find a . . . a farm.” I wonder at what point he showed it to her. So far, they’ve done the dirty weekend in LA, Christmas in Liverpool and Portugal, a stay in New York, and now London. Have they done the Mull of Kintyre at this point? Oh, boy. When I fist heard it, I was like “where have I heard that before?” and when Peter Jackson pointed out that it’s the Top Gun theme? How many songs out there are actually Paul McCartney’s illegitimate children? Like, be Lennon/McCartney with me, for a minute here, and translate this sexual metaphor into musical terms. Paul just jerks it a bit, and before he can even finish, about ten people are pregnant from a drop of his precum and ten magical star children are born who he has no idea of. Does that make any kind of sense at all to anyone?

Honestly love the political version of get back. And clearly so does Yoko. That’s the most I’ve seen her get into a song they’ve written, like, ever. Hey, guys. I have an idea. Maybe you should ask the actual immigrant for ideas on your pro-immigration song. Just a thought.

Okay but my hot take is that the first two verses at least of “Came in through the bathroom window” are a diss track at Jane. Seriously though, it’s got to be one of my many underrated favs to come out of these sessions. Also, they’re so in love doing this one, my heart can’t take it. 

“This isn’t daddy’s tea, is it?” And Yoko just, without skipping a beat, says, “No.” Girl, I know he’s the one calling you mommy in bed, don’t lie. 

It’s the mutual caring of it all, you know? How he’s sitting in her lap while playing with her hair. How he makes her laugh and she buries her face in his tummy. Gosh, she’s gonna love that tummy for almost thirty years. And while the breakup is heartbreaking, isn’t that lovely to think about? 

George, you should’ve made a Bob Dylan cover album. He sounds sooo pretty. 

Ah, yes. The “Just Let it Be, love. He’s not going to leave you.” Dream Song. Which John does not look enthusiastic about. And then it becomes “Well, you said he wouldn’t leave me, mama. But, you know, he went and did it.”

Peter Jackson, WHERE is that Linda/Yoko dish session audio, you absolute monster! Those are Not small-talk faces. Would I rather listen to what they’ve got to say than hear one of the twentieth century’s greatest masterpieces come to be? Yes. Yes, I would.

Henry.” Henry gasps. He doesn’t mean to, but it absolutely takes him by surprise, and he snaps his head back to the bassinet placed just on the other side of the window; on a light blue name card elegantly scripted in black marker His Royal Highness Prince Henry Arthur Alexander James Hanover-Stuart Fox.

“Feds got him tucked away,” Rio says under his breath, hand partially covering his face.

He smiles at a mother pushing a stroller. Beth glances around, trying to appear just as natural.

“What does that mean?”

“Probably protective custody and what not. Someone got a whiff of somethin’.”

“How do you even know that?”

“Home court advantage,” he says, smiling wide when his son runs up from the playground. “What’s up, Pop?”

“I wanna go on the monkey bars.”

“You wanna go on the monkey bars?” Rio asks and Marcus nods. “Looks like someones on it, though.”

“But I wanna…”

“I know what you wanna do, ok? But when that kids done you’ll get your turn, Ok? Alright?” Rio pats him on the back. “We all gotta tough it out sometimes…. Have fun!” he yells to his son’s retreating form. “Playground don’t get any easier, right?”

Beth takes in the display with a mixture of confusion and awe at the way he’d turned his interaction with Marcus into another demonstration of his power.

“So, you’ll take it from here then,” she says.

Rio leans into the bench wearing an amused smile.

“Scuse’ me?”

“I mean, if he’s in custody, and we can’t get to him, then it’s over.”

“No, it's over when you finish it.”

“How?” she breathes out in utter disbelief.

“Be a boss bitch,” he says, looking at her.

“How?!”

“I don’t know. Root him out.” Rio lifts smoothly off the bench and smiles back at her as he walks away. “He on facebook?”

She watches him jog off to join Marcus.

She really hates him.
