14-Delaford to Premberly

This part 3 of a series that crosses both Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.

The Brandons are invited to their Friends the Darcys for a week, but not is well with them, they are in a disagreement with one another.

This one is blamed on @madamesnape (affectionate) because they love P&P and S&S and have been very encouraging 😈

Its still in the plotting phase though I have written some of it for them as a different wip number

79-Mr Dashwood.

In the Road Divided, Elinor is thinking of making a portrait of her father for her mother's birthday and this was actually inspired by that.

Currently it is in the works of gathering stuff for a painting but I dunno if I'll get it done by the time I get around to finishing publishing it.

But I don't like the movie version as I was saying to @alwaysdearie that I picture more of Anthony Hopkins as Mr Dashwood then Tom Wilkinson in the 1995 movie.

Not as it Seems sounds interesting 🤔 what's the general idea?

So Not as it Seems is basically a queer friendly what if story i created for a Modern Sense and Sensibility.

What if [spoiler] was actually a beard for [this relationship]? But actually [these two characters] are dating, though it seems like [these two] are.

So the theme is secrets and illusions and the perception of our own delusions in a way.

The relationships are not approved by Mrs Dashwood who is set on seeing her daughters married. Except that none of them wants that, at lesst not in the way she would approve because Mrs Dashwood doesn't exactly approve of...alternate relationships.

She thinks her three daughters will fall in line with plans she has set in motion, except they each found love but with someone no mother approved.

There are beards everywhere for everyone and it is just a story I had fun with creating in my head and I have most of it plotted (I NEVER PLOT) i just have to sit down and write it.

Like none of the characters of this generation are straight, like none, despite the main characters in seemingly heterosexual relationship though there is a beard amongst them.

It has been two years since her last relationship—if one could call what happened a relationship—and her mother and sisters have worried for her.

She was fine, though it was not them who set her up this time. 

She did not have high hopes for the bloke she was meeting. He seemed almost too good to actually exist by the way he was boosted to her; and she felt going in with low hopes was a much better plan then being thoroughly disappointed…again.

She took the tube because she refused on principle to drive now that she was living with her sister in the center of London for her new TA job which she was excited to start, she already had a degree in Early Childhood Development and now she was trying to pursue a masters in linguistics and classroom education. 

She kept an eye on everyone, though no one was paying her any attention, with the occasional glance at her book app on her mobile—reading one of her favorite stories over again— except the knots in her stomach rolled with the motions of the train that she could not focus on the words having read the same three sentences for the past five minutes.

So I've been thinking of a Sense and Sensibility crossover for some time and this is part of it.

The connection currently between the two is between Colonel Brandon and Colonel Fitzwilliam. Brandon retired from the army when Fitzwilliam was still a major so this is a happenstance meeting in London:

"—I must however be going and we have just reacquainted ourselves— six years can hardly be expressed in such a short time—and I look forward to hearing more about these lovely ladies that seemed to have appeared in Devonshire recently."

Ah so this one is actually more modern au then I usually do.

Its basically a What if everyone was queer?

Most everyone is either Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian or chosen not to disclose. Its basically me taking canon and saying nope that's a beard, that was a beard, THAT IS MORE BEARD THEN LADY.

It really started with a discussion with @madamesnape but its also for me.

Currently it only has one scene written but I've been thinking about it more and more as I deal with my own thoughts about being queer, in a family that does not always accept me to imagine a found family scenario of a family that I resonated deeply about growing up.

I'm going to say it has something to do with a preview of the list that you have but I know I'm wrong so no bonus for Renee *pouts*

So this was inspired through a conversation with my friend and a prompt and of course its S & S!

So its very much similar to many of my other fics 😂.

But 5 headcanons:

It starts normally and one night at Barton Park before October, someone feels them being observes and makes a funny face when no one is paying attention.

It becomes a way to say much without words as the story goes on.

Lies happen because everyone's hearts are engaged elsewhere or so they assume

Sisterly matchmaking happens when it becomes known there are returned affections.

Mrs Jennings gets the props she deserves! As she should!

So 62 is not a fic, or really it has a little drabble attached to it but I digress, it is a drawing that I drew/colored myself but it does have a story attached to it.

My bestie @lesbians-love-samwilson loves Taylor Swift and she likes Medusa though Persephone is her favorite.

Anyway so I decided as a belated birthday gift and a Christmas gift to draw Taylor Swift as Medusa and the result I'm really fucking pleased with it!

So 5 facts:

The snakes are all Nonvenomous: Hognose (Diggs using its nose), Ball Python (selective breeding for the color), Reticulated Python (ambush predetor) & Trans Pecos Rat Snake (Breeding season is May and June)

The background is composed of lyrics from her past 6ish albums: 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore & Midnights. Some of them from songs that I recall that my friend and I have talked about.

I decided midway with coloring to make her have more snake like qualities (fangs & hognose snout), the dress faintly has a texture on it to mimic scales but uploaded the wrong file, but it works lol

I had fun trying to figure out how to combine the two.

There are different sources that I used to create it not including the lyrics: here, here, here, plus the color palette.

5 headcanons:

Taylor was a young woman from a prominent family but she fell in love with the wrong guy

For her wrong chose slowly she starts turning into a Gorgon.

Her hands became rougher than usual (but that makes it easier to play the harp),her eyes started to lose color definition before they changed shape. Her teeth started to fall out but new ones came in but they retract! Her diet became more snake like though she tried to hide it. Her nose flatten but it still has the cuve it used to have.

She can turn people to stone and boy that really changed "I've got a blank space baby" because there might be a "long list of ex lovers" hidden in a room on the grounds.

She is very lonely but music as always is something she loves, almost as much as she came to love her new self.

3, 7 for the Wrapped asks.

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

So I'm actually really proud of two.

One is a collaboration with @random-emerald-thoughts on this fic. It was my first collaboration and my first trollhunters fic and we both got it done in time (procrastination and inspiration hit differently at times)

And this one I finished in like a month and half and started to post because it was a friend's birthday.

Its my first Sense and Sensibility fic

7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?

In fic I pulled no song lyrics but on another project I'm working on for @lesbians-love-samwilson I'm listening to alot of Taylor Swift, especially the new album.

But I have a Red Cricket massive fic I've been working on for years in the works that I'm hoping to get back to eventually. Mostly came from a whole Playlist I created and still is a wip.

Ah yes this one. So I totally blame @austennerdita2533 for this one as she and I talk alot about modern S&S.

Having already came up with several on my list this one is perhaps very much self indulgent on my part.

Its a BlindDate! AU in which the couple goes on a blind date and its going well, except in a blink of an eye it changes because of course it does. And a good date turns into angst.

But here is a little snippet for you dear:

She dressed in yellow. 

She despised yellow, at least on her. She rather liked the color in general, but she felt like a tall daffodil, especially in the matching heels.

Her sister Marianne thought it would match her fair hair, and offset her dark eyes, except she thought her sister was delusional. But her sister refused to let her leave their flat until she dressed in the yellow sundress, that was at least moderately to her taste, she had bought it after—but it was not her color. Either of her sisters could have pulled off the color better than she.

So I have a massive family tree plot that connects P&P and S&S.

Mrs Dashwood is a silly woman at least imo, and her family is never talked about besides Sir John. But she could not have just hatched.

So what if she was estranged from her family?

What if they never fulled approved of her being a second wife knowing that unless she had a son, she would be at the mercy of the boy who seemed just about to be sent to school (9-10)?

And why is Elinor the only Dashwood daughter not to start with the letter M?

So the theory is that Mrs Dashwood is...Mrs Bennet's sister.

They are roughly the same age and both are silly and are similar in some ways, but there are still differences that make them more likely to be sisters but not the same person.

So I plan to write a fic where it fully becomes known that Mrs Dashwood hasn't spoken to any of her siblings in twenty-two years until a mutual aquantience (Mrs Jennings) gets involved.

Elinor is the only Dashwood daughter without an M because she is named for her mother's mother who passed away when Mrs Dashwood was in her confinement and was named by Henry Dashwood as a way to make up for him being the cause of her estrangement with her family. Mrs Dashwood named both Marianne and Margaret.
