Okay this one I actually do have something to say which is that I actually really really love this book. I mean it's no Vicious nothing could ever be. But it's still really good and I've liked it more with each reread. The Eli content really is superb. Also I do love that we got cool women that's not something you see in every toxic yaoi book. i’m convinced if someone explained to seb what extreme e actually is he would instantly love it cos it combines two things we know he is passionate about it, racing and advocating for climate change and unlike f1, the extreme e season is spread out across the calendar year with only 5 rounds and no double or triple headers

i’m also convinced that rallying/extreme e would be perfect for seb cos we saw at roc this year just how much he loves rallying and i truly believe he isn’t finished with racing just quite yet

people on Tiktok are slandering Anne Shirley and it makes me so maddddd. I’m so protective of her, more so than any other fictional character. she’s gone through so much and she got her happy ending - but that was only her beginning! the whole series (both the books and the tv shows) is about her learning how to be a person. of COURSE she messes up and does embarrassing things sometimes! that’s how you learn! people hating her for her mistakes genuinely makes me furious like congratulations, not only are you an immature person who lacks empathy and is probably like Josie Pye in real life, but you also completely missed the point of the whole series. don’t watch it, she’s for weird girls only ❌❌❌

My Commentary:

My hobby is to randomly throw something into H.W.S Kiku tags and then immediately refrain from speaking.

Even though I might have my own views re: this series, Semi canon compliancy with at least these parts is Implied. {Yao, meanwhile, supports Kiku purely as a friend/acquaintance} (Most of Kiku's relationships shown can be viewed as either past closeness or former relationships ended on {mostly} good terms. {Kiku May Have Complicated Feelings})

I made a TBR jar because I now have 170+ books. That includes physical, kindle, and my Apple Books. So I’m going on a book buying ban as well. Except I’m giving myself permission to buy two book- Love, Theoretically the new Ali Hazelwood and Crossed the new Emily McIntire for her Never After series.

This is the first book of the Western Splatterpunk book series. These seem to be short, so I finished Venom and went straight to this one. I read it in one-sitting.

The writing style is a bit simple and more telling, but I didn’t mind it for what this was. I feel like if you are already a fan of splatterpunk books or western books/movies you’d enjoy this. But I wouldn’t recommend this to be the stepping stone into either genre.

Our main character Magpie found out that the shaman who was his mentor was killed and goes on a war path for revenge.

The reason for the three rating is because while reading it, I was interested but some parts I found myself skimming. I feel like I wasn’t able to fully immerse myself into the story. I feel like that might be the lack of showing in the writing style. I love big descriptions in books and with this being a splatterpunk I was really hoping for the gore and mess in detail. I will be continuing this series, I very much do love the Western setting. All in all, this was a good start up for the Western Splatterpunk series- just know that each book is a stand alone (though some are getting sequels), and they seem to be from different authors.
