He was not one to be easily injured. In fact it took quite a lot to even so much as dent his armor. But the rock spire had excellent aim, slipping between the thick armor plates on his back and tearing though his abdomen. Clawed servos gripped at the energon coated spire, pained, static filled hisses and growls ripping themselves from his vocoder. Instinctively, he tried to pull himself off, but the pain was far too much.

Molten yellow optics shuttered shut for a moment. The mech was seeing stars. He shuttered them back open. “S...scrap...”

The seeker’s wings twitched upon hearing Shockwave speak his name, his optics narrowed in the darkness as he stepped into the chamber, arms crossed and digits wrapping against his upper arm. He seemed annoyed, even without trying. 

“Tell me, Shockwave, have you been creating any little abominations as of late?” he’d ask in his usual snarky tone, baring his dente and quirking an incredulous brow. He didnt give the other time to speak, promptly sweeping towards the side and squinting at some of his bits and bobbles the seeker recognized from far before the war began. 

“You see, I’ve come to find that you have a nack for losing your toys, and leaving me to pick them up. How immature.” he snickered, tapping one of the glass tubes. “But be that as it may, I have, what I can only assume to be, one of your more pitiful experiments, and I’m hoping you’d explain it to me...”

A perfectly neutral, perfunctory greeting. Shockwave turned from his work at the sound of the door to his personal lab sliding open— only a handful of mecha had the codes to access it.

Starscream wasn’t one of them.

Shockwave held no illusions that Starscream would not, eventually, help himself to the codes anyway.

“May I inquire what prompted the visit?”

Sixty percent? Damn. Tarn was not a guy he ever wanted to run into one on one, and from the standings of the ship right now, he felt like Kaon was lucky only coming out with that. At least he was alive.
