Carrier
Almost Normal
<< first | previous | masterlist | next >>
Stray Kids Urban fantasy AU (feat. Ateez from time to time) | A “carrier service” exists, seemingly only to get people (usually women) home safe after the trains stop running.
Heavy on bad boys with hearts of… some kind of shiny metal, probably.
Warnings: nothing too wild in this chapter. Some medical-ish stuff (wound description), Vasilisa is ornery with Hyunjin.
=====
"There you are! Goodness,” Tempawan's coworker, Sunmi, openly gawked at her neck, "what on earth happened to you?"
Tempawan grimaced.
"It's going to sound crazy."
Sunmi gave her a sarcastic look, "it already looks crazy."
She wasn't wrong. The bite mark on her shoulder was being stubborn. Despite a lack of infection, it was refusing to simply scab over and get on with healing. While she wasn't actively bleeding anymore, it was still gross - a disgusting raw mess that was always slightly moist. So Tempawan was left with packing gauze onto it, holding it in place with ribbon-like medical tape.
"Fair enough," Tempawan sighed, "I got attacked by a dog."
Sunmi's eyes widened in shock.
"How on earth? What happened?"
"I don't really remember," Tempawan shrugged, "I went out on Wednesday night and then… woke up in a hospital room on Thursday."
"Jeezy creezy," Sunmi muttered, "well, director Kang was looking for you yesterday."
"I think this," she gestured towards the bandage that was visible under the edge of her collar, "will give me an excuse for missing a day or two of work."
"Not really his job," Sunmi shrugged, then looked a little embarrassed.
"Can," she gave Tempawan a secretive smile, "can I see?"
Tempawan rolled her eyes, but leaned forward to indulge her friend. She winced slightly as she peeled back a strip of tape, "I'll warn you, it's kind of gross."
With an encouraging nod from Sunmi, she shook her head and slowly revealed the glossy puncture marks.
Sunmi gasped, physically recoiling.
"Holy…"
"Yeah," Tempawan pulled her foundation cushion out of her bag. She flipped it open, using the mirror to check the wound. "Like I said: gross."
"No kidding. Does it still hurt?"
"Not really," she started re-securing her bandage, "but that's only because the doctor gave me some medicine. It's worse when I sleep."
Satisfied with her gauze placement, Tempawan clicked shut the compact. She quickly readjusted her top so it didn't tug against the patch.
"Well," she stood, resigning herself to her fate, "I guess I should go see the director. If you don’t hear from me, I've been fired and you should come get me from the bar."
=====
"Director Kang?"
She cautiously peeked around the door to the director's office. Everyone knew that if it was propped open, they were free to enter. But she didn't particularly want to enter. Even though her absence was undeniably excusable, even with the proof still leaking into bandages on her neck, she was convinced she was going to be in trouble.
"Is that you Miss Shim?"
Kang Seungyoon didn't look up from his computer. His fingers were flying across his keyboard with an urgency that Tempawan recognized as just gotta finish this email.
"Yes sir."
He vaguely nodded towards the seat in front of his desk, eyes still glued to his screen, "take a seat. This will just be a second."
Tempawan stiffly dipped into the chair. It was probably comfortable when you weren't nervous, but she was trying to be on her best behavior.
The room was silent, save for the muted taps of the director's fingers on his keyboard. Finally, the tap-tap-tap was punctuated by a click from the mouse.
"Alright," he leaned his head back, rolling his neck and shoulders, "sorry about that. It was somewhat urgent."
"Not a problem sir."
"Now then, I wanted to che-"
Tempawan’s eyes had strayed to her own fingers as she waited, but the abrupt way the director cut off his own words alerted her to the fact that he must have finally looked at her.
Like so many things that one would hope others wouldn't notice, the bandage on her neck appeared exigent. Well, perhaps not the bandage itself. The accompanying bruising however seemed to trigger empathy, even in strangers… such as the barista that handed her coffee over this morning.
Director Kang's reaction did not inspire her to meet his gaze, but she couldn't so blatantly avoid it without coming across as rude. Or would he go easier on her if she played up the "traumatizing event" angle?
Her decision was made for her when she heard the unmistakable sounds of the director standing up and moving.
She looked up and saw him cross the office to open the door.
"Come. We'll have the clinic staff take a look at it."
He stood by the door expectantly.
Tempawan hesitated. She wasn't sure exactly why, but she was gripped with the idea that she might get pulled from the trial. And if she got pulled, that probably meant that Dhia would get pulled as well. And if Dhia got pulled, she'd have to start over with a new fertility clinic. One that she'd have to pay for, rather than getting paid by.
"Miss Shim?"
She shook her head, finally standing up.
"Sorry," she bowed quickly, "I got a little lost in thought."
Director Kang took a step back into the office, letting the door close again.
"Is there an issue?"
He sounded sincere. As sincere as a professional could, anyway. He even looked sincere - a faint frown creasing his brow, but not reaching much further than that.
"It's just…" Tempawan licked her lips nervously, "it won't impact my eligibility, will it?"
The director's face relaxed slightly. He even allowed himself a small smile.
"You don't have to worry about that," he reassured her. "I just want to make sure my team's health is properly looked after."
=====
Working for a multinational corporation definitely had benefits. Working for one that was aggressively expanding its medical research divisions had even more.
Tempawan shivered slightly as a cool gel was applied to her wound. After a few minutes, the dull ache was nearly gone.
“This isn’t anything addictive, is it?”
“Not chemically or physically,” the clinician assured her, “just in the way that, say, your favorite food might be addictive.”
Tempawan frowned, trying to parse that sentence before deciding to be straightforward.
“So it’s not an opioid?”
The clinician laughed, shaking her head.
“Absolutely not. Regardless of addiction concerns, opiates aren’t nearly as effective as they’ve been advertised to be.” She shook her head, “they’re more effective at making patients lose lucidity than actually stopping pain.”
“Oh,” Tempawan nodded, not entirely sure if that was true or not. “Then what is this?”
“Marketing is still working on a name for it. We just call it The Slime,” the clinician laughed.
“I’m assuming since you’re laughing that everything is okay?” Director Kang asked from behind the privacy curtain.
The clinician shot Tempawan a smile that landed somewhere between embarrassed and conspiratorial. They had both forgotten the man behind the curtain.
"I think everything is all set," she spoke in a more professional tone now, "the hospital you went to did a good job."
=====
"Not to sound like some sort of drug dealer," Vasilisa hummed, "but I'm assuming if your ending your business with me that you've found a new supplier."
The witch stood over an electric rice cooker. Her familiar, a chubby fuzzy thing, was handing her vegetables to chop. Hyunjin nodded, before remembering that she had her back turned and starting to speak.
"Ye-"
"I see."
He hated it when they did that. He didn't know for sure, but he was pretty sure that the witch could see through her familiar's eyes. Or maybe they were connected telepathically. Either way, he hated it.
"It's not some shady donor scheme, is it?" She kept her back to him. The round rodent moved aside, scrabbling the unused ends of vegetable into the sink as the witch started on some cut of meat.
"No ma'am," Hyunjin murmured. "It's… ah…"
He paused, realizing that he didn't actually know where Chan and his company obtained their blood.
"It's a…?" Vasilisa prompted him to continue.
"It's through my new job."
The witch huffed slightly, but still didn't turn to face him. An uncomfortable silence fell as she worked the extraneous fat off the hunk of meat.
After plopping all of the ingredients into the rice cooker, she finally spoke again.
"That sounds like something one of those trafficking rings would say."
Hyunjin frowned. He had to admit, even if only to himself, that he didn't actually know what Bang Chan's source was.
"I don't think they'd do that. Their business seems to be somewhat based on keeping people safe."
He watched her hands go still. Her fingers twitched, the motion mimicked by her familiar. Were they talking - thinking? - about him?
Vasilisa turned on her heel, fixing a hard look on Hyunjin.
"Bang Chan isn't trying to use you due to your…" her nose crinkled in distaste, "past hobbies, is he?"
Hyunjin shook his head quickly.
"No ma'am," he protested, "Chan doesn't even know about what I am- I mean was! What I was."
Something moving faster than you is scary enough for humans.
For vampires, it's downright terrifying.
Before he could even finish blinking, Vasilisa's ladle was under his chin. He resisted the urge to gulp down his nerves.
"That's right Jinnie. Was. Because we know better than to mess with that shit again," she tapped the ladle against his chin, firm, "right?"
He managed a jerky nod. It earned him another tap.
"Right, Jinnie?"
This time, he forced words out.
"Yes ma'am."

Idol Advent - Day 24
For the first twenty-five days of December we will be opening up a door on the Idol Advent tree to see who is behind it and waiting with a drabble to share!
To find out who is there for Day 24, click the keep reading!
The Best Christmas - Seungyoon
Christmas was cancelled, due to this snowstorm.
Well, at least the Christmas you had been planning on attending.
“It will be fine, Y/N. We’ll just have Christmas as us two this year.”
When you dragged yourself away from the window, you looked at your options. The grand family meal that you were going to have at your parents was now looking like frozen meals since you hadn’t really stocked the freezer up. If anything, you had shopped less this week, knowing that you would be out of town and didn’t want to come home to spoiled food.
“At least we still have power,” Seungyoon offered and you smiled, nodding gently. That would provide some entertainment for the rest of the day. You would open the presents you had for each other, watch Christmas movies on Netflix and Face-Time your family when they were all together later on.
Except an hour after accepting your fate, the snowstorm outside had picked up enough to knock out the power as well. It seemed as if Santa had put you both on the naughty list and was punishing you this year.
Looking towards your husband for more of his remaining hope, he shook his head as he shrugged. “Babe, I’ve got nothing left.”
“I have,” you answered with a smile.
In front of the fireplace, you dumped a stack of pillows and throw blankets, a perfect place for you to set up for the rest of the night. You had managed to ignite the gas stovetops to cook a modest dinner of chicken and rice, and since your husband could never go without his phone for long, you had enough power banks charged to stream Christmas movies on your phone.
It was quite perfect actually.
As you finished your meal and brewed hot cocoa over the stovetop, Seungyoon came in behind you in the kitchen. “Some Christmas huh?”
“Well, there’s been no family fights or nosy comments about when we’re going to have children. I kind of like how quiet this Christmas has been,” you explained as you turned to face him. Stretching up, you pecked Seungyoon’s lips. “Plus, I get to have you all to myself.”
“You don’t want to share me with you Aunt Faye?” he offered with a laugh before hugging you tightly. “I think this is my best Christmas with you.”
“Mine too.”

The Watch
Genre: Time Travel!AU
Pairing: Seungyoon x You
Warnings: Mild cursing
Part 1, 2, 3, 4 | Words: 2,311
Apparently, Seungyoon was known in his family for his love of watches.
For his birthday this past year, he had received five watches as gifts, all from separate family members. There had also been a sixth one from one of his closest friends, and while such a large number of the same present should have been a bit... annoying, Seungyoon was far from annoyed.
He was extremely pleased.
Because... well... he truly did love watches. His collection was now up to 30, so he could wear a different one every day for five months out of the year and have only one repeat during the other seven.
There had been one watch, in particular, which had piqued his curiosity. His cousin had gifted it to him, explaining she had seen it in an antique store and had known immediately he needed to own it.
He had agreed with her upon opening the box and actually seeing the watch, but there was one small problem: the watch didn’t currently work.
It was understandable, of course, since she had purchased it from an antique store. A small engraving on the back of the face read ‘TRC, 1936′ so... he assumed the watch was almost 85 years old. No wonder it didn’t work.
Ever since his birthday, Seungyoon had been meaning to find a shop which could possibly repair the watch, but he’d simply gotten sidetracked. He had either been busy with work, work, or work, and it had just slipped his mind over and over again.
Seungyoon let out a soft groan as the alarm on his phone pierced through the air. His eyes fluttered open and, as usual, he reached out to press the Snooze button.
Eight minutes later, the shrill ringing interrupted his sleep yet again. Another groan left his lips, but this time, he pressed Stop and actually sat up. He threw his covers back and swung his legs over the side of the bed.
It was Monday morning. He didn’t want to, but it was time to get ready for work.
“All right, which one do I feel like today?” Seungyoon murmured to himself as he stepped up to his dresser. He opened the top drawer, and while most people usually reserved this drawer for underwear, his was occupied by his watch collection.
They were each neatly settled in their own slot on a large, velvet tray, and even though it sounded a bit sad, picking out which watch to wear was his favorite part of the day.
Besides lunch. And coming home. And dinner. And going to sleep.
But you know what I mean.
He just loved opening his drawer and seeing all of his watches displayed so nicely, each one in its own place. And he felt so satisfied when his watch perfectly complemented his outfit!
It’s the little things in life, okay?
Seungyoon’s eyes scanned over all 30 of his watches, but he froze momentarily when he got to the antique watch.
Damn it!
Another weekend had gone by, and he hadn’t remembered to take it to a repair shop!
What a shame, too, because that watch would look really good with his suit and tie today.
Like, incredibly good.
...Hmm.
Maybe he could just fiddle around with it and see if he could fix it. It probably wouldn’t work, but hey. It’s worth a shot!
He carefully lifted the gold watch from the tray, holding it as delicately as he could. There was a small round knob on the side of the case -- the crown, it was called -- something any wind-up watch had to keep the hands ticking.
It seemed obvious, but what if he just... wound it up? Turned the crown and hoped that was the trick?
Sure, why not?
Seungyoon narrowed his eyes in concentration, taking two fingers and carefully grasping the tiny crown on the side of the watch to pull it out. He turned it away from him, going around a couple of times before stopping and pushing it back in. He pulled his fingers away and watched the face, waiting to see if something would happen.
Before the hands had a chance to start back up, though, his vision got blurry, and he began to feel a little lightheaded. Instinctively, he closed his eyes, hoping to ward off this random dizzy spell.
It lasted for a few more seconds, and when his head was no longer spinning, he blinked open his eyes.
Whoa -- wait -- what?
Seungyoon was... no longer standing in front of his dresser in his bedroom.
He was, instead, sitting at his kitchen table.
...How had he gotten here? Had he somehow walked all the way downstairs without even realizing it?
His vision was still just a tad blurry around the edges, but things were gradually becoming more clear as he gazed around his kitchen with a deeply furrowed brow.
There was his pantry... his fridge... his oven with someone standing in front of it... his sink... his cupboards --
Wait, what?!
His gaze snapped back to his oven, his heart skipping quite a few beats as he scanned over an unknown person’s back. He could now infer that whoever it was was cooking something. He heard the sizzling, the stirring, and he could smell... bacon.
But... who was that?!
“Hello?” you asked with a chuckle, turning around to face him. “You there?”
Holy --
Seungyoon’s head jerked back with surprise. Had you -- had you had just asked him --
What?!
“Uh... yes,” he replied warily. “Who are --”
“Do you want peanut butter on your toast or just plain?” you asked, eyeing him as if it wasn’t the first time you’d asked that question. “I know you love peanut butter toast, but if I’m making bacon, I thought that would be kind of weird.”
Seungyoon simply blinked at you.
He had absolutely no idea what was going on.
You were asking him if he wanted peanut butter on his toast.
But he had no earthly clue who you were. He had never seen you before in his life!
And yet you were in his kitchen. Seemingly making breakfast. And you knew he preferred peanut butter toast.
...But also you were dazzlingly beautiful. That was something he couldn’t ignore, but it still didn’t make this any less weird.
“Yoon,” you called out, your voice still amused but also a bit firm.
He jumped out of his stupor and made eye contact with you once more.
“Are you all right?” you asked with a slightly confused smirk.
“Um, yeah -- I --”
No, he was not all right.
A beautiful mystery person was in his kitchen making breakfast and calling him ‘Yoon’ and acting like this was all normal but it was not normal because he had never seen you before and how did you know he loved peanut butter toast but also bacon and who were you?!
“Just -- just plain... I guess,” he stammered.
Even though he could hear that his own voice sounded very strange, you still nodded and turned back around to face the stove.
Seungyoon continued to try and get his bearings, his eyes frantically searching the room.
He was definitely in his kitchen. Like, he knew for sure it was his. Everything was the same.
Except for you.
...Was he dreaming, maybe? Very vividly?
But he had already woken up for the day. He was wearing the same suit and tie and everything!
He was even wearing the watch!
He lifted his wrist closer to his face, seeing the hands were, indeed, ticking and moving slowly around.
So, winding it up had worked.
Interesting.
There was a sudden presence by his side, and he jumped slightly as you slid a plate of bacon, eggs, and toast on the table in front of him.
“What’s wrong with you this morning?” you asked in a lighthearted tone, chuckling slightly. “You’re so jumpy.”
“I, uh -- Noth--nothing, sorry, I --”
You placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it affectionately. “Eat up. I gotta go get ready.”
He simply nodded, and just as he turned to glance up at you, you leaned down and kissed him.
Kissed him!
“Have a good day, baby,” you murmured against his lips. “See you later.”
Seungyoon hummed helplessly, and you pulled away. As you sauntered down the hallway toward the stairs, you called out, “Love you!” over your shoulder.
And the hits just kept on coming.
Instinctively, Seungyoon replied with, “Love you, too” but did he?!
Did he really love you?!
He didn’t even know who you were!
As he looked around the kitchen one more time, the clock on the stove caught his eye. You’d been blocking it earlier, so he hadn’t seen it until now.
It was 7:55am. Around the time he usually ate breakfast before heading off for the day.
He looked back down at his watch, and it, too, said 7:55am.
And then he slid his phone out from his pocket.
Yep, 7:55 -- wait, now 7:56am.
But something else besides the time caught his eye.
The date.
It was the same month and day as it had been when he’d woken up a little over half an hour ago.
Just the year was different.
According to his phone, he had woken up a little over half an hour ago... two years ago.
No, that couldn’t be right.
There was just no way.
There was no possible way he could have --
Seungyoon suddenly pushed away from the table, standing up and looking around the kitchen in somewhat of a panic.
His first instinct -- besides letting out a very distressed scream -- was to find you and ask you if the year on his phone was actually the year. Maybe there was some glitch or something, and now everyone’s date was two years off.
He wasn’t sure he wanted to ask you, though, because -- as I have mentioned several times already -- he had no idea who you even were.
But -- I don’t know! You’d just made breakfast for him. You’d kissed him. You, apparently, loved him.
He may not know your name, but he had an inkling that he could trust you.
So, he strode down the hall, taking the stairs two at a time.
At first, when he arrived on the upstairs landing, he had no idea where you’d gone. But when he stopped to listen, he heard rustling and clinking coming from...
His eyes landed on his bedroom door.
Hesitantly and as quietly as he could, Seungyoon crept across the hallway, carefully reaching out and opening the door inch-by-inch. Just as he’d opened it halfway, the hinges creaked; he nearly jumped out of his skin at the high-pitched sound.
If he ever got back to the present -- or whenever it was he had been this morning -- the first thing he would do would be to oil this door.
“...Yoon?” you called out from the en suite bathroom.
Oh, god. Now that he was here, and now that you knew he was here, he was severely regretting this plan.
He didn’t answer quickly enough, apparently, because you popped your head out of the bathroom doorway, your hair partially curled.
“What are you --?” you began, but Seungyoon finally found his voice.
“What year is it?” he asked quickly.
The look which took over your face was...
I mean, it’s what you would expect from someone you had just asked: “What year is it?”
“...What year -- what do you mean ‘what year is it’?” you asked, a very perplexed chuckle escaping your lips. “Yoon, are you all right? You’re acting really strangely this morning.”
Seungyoon blinked; you had already asked him if he was all right, and he had told you he was fine. He hadn’t been fine then, and he wasn’t fine now, so maybe he should tell the truth this time.
“I... don’t really know,” he told you. And then he looked at you with genuine, earnest anticipation. “What... year is it?”
You stepped up to him, your brow furrowed as you reached up and smoothed down the lapels of his suit. And then you told him what year it was.
The date you proclaimed matched the date on his phone -- two years after the date in which he’d woken up. In this very same bedroom. In that very same bed!
You suddenly -- but very gently -- took his face in your hands, forcing him to look at you.
“Yoon, I’m worried about you,” you said softly. “Maybe you should stay home from work today. Do you want me to call out? I can take care of you --”
“You said you loved me, right?” he interrupted. His eyes widened just a little, brightening with the spark of his idea.
Your expression grew even more confused, but you nodded. “Yes, I love you,” you assured him. “Very much. With my whole heart.”
Seungyoon licked his lips, shifting from one foot to the other as he argued with himself on whether or not he should --
Okay, yeah. He should. Why not? This was all probably just a very realistic dream, anyway!
“I woke up this morning -- in this bed, in this house, everything. But I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know where the past two years went.”
Seungyoon could picture your features screwing up in more perplexity than they already were...
But instead, your eyebrows raised. Your lips formed a very small, almost indistinguishable ‘Oh’ of surprise.
And then you nodded.
“I thought maybe this was --” you murmured, cutting yourself off and fixing a steady gaze on him.
And the next words out of your mouth were ones Seungyoon had never expected:
“You tried to fix the watch, then?”

call me, maybe?
pairing : (idol!)hoony x reader
word count : 1.6k+
genre : fluff
warnings : mentions of drinking & smoking
summary : after saving for years you and your best friend finally had enough money to go on your dream trip to thailand! one night, at the usually almost empty hotel bar, you encounter some cute looking guys
auther’s note : this is.. literally based on a dream i had a whiiiile ago lmao, hope yall like it ♡ (also im not good at all at using just one tense lol sorry)
▪︎ so you and your best friend finally made it to thailand! you saved enough money to stay for a whole month!!
▪︎ you two went sightseeing A LOT, getting food at all different kinds of places and meeting the friendliest people you ever came across
▪︎ after another small scenery change, you couldn’t stay at just 1 hotel for a whole month so you changed your hotels pretty much weekly while exploring different places, you finally ended up in the middle of bangkok
▪︎ the city you were most exited about!! you’ve dreamed all your life of visiting bangkok once and now the time had come
▪︎ to let the evening die away you and your best friend decide to get some drinks in the bar right next to the small hotel you’re staying at since the hotel doesnt own a private one
▪︎ joyfully you two entered he bar but your jaws drop when you realise how full the spacious room already was. after you decided it’s probably best to look for seats and then order drinks, instead of going to the bar straight away, you let your eyes scan the flooded bar
▪︎ after you a few seconds you spot two free seats in the very back of the bar and start heading towards them
▪︎ while coming across a little dance floor you get closer to the table in the back when you determine two guys are already occupiying the table
▪︎ after checking with your friend yall decide to just ask the two handsome boys, one having dark green hair – the other one blonde, if you could join them. it was already late and you werent really in the mood to go look for another location to have a few drinks
▪︎ „hey, is it cool with you if we just sit here?“ your best friend asked. „sure!“ the one with the green hair replied, both of the boys giving yall a sweet smile.
▪︎ you took off your coats, happy you changed into your new black velvet top that you got right before leaving for thailand
▪︎ „they’re quiet cute huh“ your best friend said to you (of course in your mothertongue so the guys wouldn’t catch up right away), yourself already giving her a knowing look 👀
▪︎ you chatted for a bit until calling over a waitress to finally order your goods for the night
▪︎ „a strawberry mojito for me, thanks!“ you said tot he girl, ordering after your friend. from the corner of your eye you saw the blonde boy next to you quickly emptying the rest of his beer
▪︎ „i’ll take the same as her“, he said, making the waitress eye him his friend. „anything else?“ she asked with a smile. „another beer for me please“ the guy with green hair and small tattoos around his neck, that you only noticed by now, said
▪︎ flashing a glance at your best friend to make sure she also saw what you saw, you could see in her eyes that she already had spotted them. and she loved them
▪︎ „i’m hoony by the way“ the blonde guy said. you only also discovered now that the boy had a nose piercing, which made him 10x more attractive by the minute!!
▪︎ the tattooed guy introduced himself as mino
▪︎ somehow you all started talking about nothing and everything, ordering one drink after another. your hometowns, your favorite songs and drinks, thailands nightlife and what you all were up to being in thailand were discussed
▪︎ before you knew it, after explaining to the two cute guys next to you that you two were basically on vacation, the conversation had split up
▪︎ your bestie and mino were already talking about a whole `nother topic but you couldnt complain (now you had hoony all to yourself hehe)
▪︎ the alcohol that slowly found it’s way into your bloodstream made you feel warm deep down in your stomache and your confidence grew
▪︎ „i probably should’nt tell you this, but i will when you promise to keep it a secret“ hoony slurred his words at you
▪︎ you had no idea what he was talking about but you still linked your pinky with the one he was extending towards you. „okay i won’t tell any one‘ you reassured him
▪︎ he leaned closer to you, so close you could smell a light hint of his cologne and feel the heat his body was ratiating
▪︎ without letting go your pinky he (kind of, not really - he was a little tipsy) whispered in your ear „you know, mino and i, we’re rappers. have you heard of winner?‘
▪︎ thinking for a second you remembered hearing the groups name around thailand a few times
▪︎ before you could answer hoony kept talking. proudly he told you all about his other bandmates jinu and yoon, their music and their lifes as idols
▪︎ you nearly wanted to remind him to catch a breath once in a while but you could’nt since he was just so into it you would’nt want to make it seem like your were disinterested
▪︎ quiet the reverse! you loved listening to him since he seemed exited like a little puppy. he was’nt bragging about his fame though. you felt like he genuinely really loved what he was doing in life
▪︎ „ya hoony!!“ mino interrupted his friend. „we’re going outside real quick, going for a smoke and catching some fresh air. we’ll be right back!“
▪︎ mino was already guiding your best friend to the door that lead to the front of the bar. you noticed how he had took her hand and while your friend looked at you with an apologetic gaze, you answered her with an understanding wink
▪︎ it was then that you noticed , hoony had’nt let go of your hand all this time either, your hands were just resting on top of your knee. you smiled to yourself and gave all your attention back to the pretty boy next to you
▪︎ you had lost track of time by now but while seeing mino any your friend leave out of the front door you noticed the bar had cleared quiet a bit. the small dance floor wasnt as filled with sweaty bodys anymore as it was before and there also were a couple of empty seats
▪︎ the song changed to a slower, more softer, song. hoonys hand suddenly disconnected from yours just to appear right in front of your face once again
▪︎ „dance with me“ he said. it wasn‘t a demand, nor was it a question. the way he looked at you though, the carefullness in his voice, let you know you could have said no
▪︎ but you didn’t
▪︎ normally you would have thankfully declined, dancing in a bar with a guy you practically just had met? maybe, you tried to blame it on that, it was the alcohol streaming through your body, maybe it was the blonde sweetheart that truly had the potential to steal your heart
▪︎ either way, you grabbed his hand and followed him to the now nearly empty dancefloor
▪︎ hoony gently placed his hands on your hips while you interlaced your hands behind his neck
▪︎ he pulled you closer shooting you the sweetest smile you had seen in a while
▪︎ „is this alright?“ he asked so only you could hear him. you replied with a simple nod sending a smile right back at him
▪︎ you two stayed in comfortable silence just swaying along to the song
▪︎ when the song came to an end you suddenly heard the familiar voices of your friends
▪︎ „i guess we have to leave soon, they’re already starting to close down the bar and we also have a concert tomorrow“
▪︎ you shyly smiled at hoony once more and started heading back to your table, not letting go of his hand
▪︎ mino and your best friend were already waiting at the table for the both of you
▪︎ „guess we should head back to our hotel now too“ your friend said to no one in particular. „lets go pay our drinks!“
▪︎ „oh, hoony and i took care of that already“ mino said sending a wink hoonys way
▪︎ „no no no, you really don’t have to“ you two started protesting, but there was no way you two would win this fight
▪︎ making sure you gathered all your things the now four of you left the bar
▪︎ since your hotel was just next door it was now time to say goodbye, you were kind of sad but also, not gonna lie, your were also starting to feel really tired
▪︎ you hugged mino goodbye and turned to hoony. „give me your phone real quick, okay?“
▪︎ you did as hoony asked and passed him your phone. seconds later he handed it back to you
▪︎ looking down at your screen you saw that hoony had entered his phonenumber into your phone
▪︎ „hey, if you want, you could come by out concert tomorrow! we can organize your some tickets!“ you heard mino say
▪︎ „just… call me, maybe?“ hoony softly said to you. looking up at him you couldn’t stop yourself from grinning
▪︎ he pulled you into a tight hug that lasted just a little longer than a normal hug would (u kno what im sayin)
▪︎ placing a small kiss on the top of your cheekbone he slowly let go of you
▪︎ seperating in the same pairs as you started your evening you went in the opposite direction the boys were taking
▪︎ „did hoony gave you his number just like mino gave his to me?“ your best friend asked while linking arms with you
▪︎ you looked at her with a cheeky grin. „and should we give them a call in the morning?“ she asked with a sly smile
▪︎ oh and how you were gonna give them a call tomorrow!! there was nothing you were more sure of

SAVE ME pt 1
Pairings: Reader X Seungyoun X Wooseok Ft YooA Genre: Action/ Angst/ Fluff
Summary: After someone save you, you had no choice but to join his adventures that unintentionally unveil fragments of memories that you never knew ever existed before, revealing who you really are and what are your connection with the stranger. Will it be a good idea to find the missing puzzle?
Forensic was your passion. Some would call it odd while some would call it unique. Sometimes things would get eerie when the cadaver’s condition was far beyond your brain could have ever imagine and sometimes you spent many sleepless night just because you couldn’t push away the gore image that would stuck in you head for days. When it comes to food, you had stop eating intestine since you started your carrier, You even thought about being a vegan at some point. But you glad you didn’t. That’s the thrill you always love about your job. It wasn’t boring, not so adventurous for an average woman like you.It was just fine. Until one day.
You received a new cadaver that morning, it was named ‘John Doe’ because they couldn’t identify his features and there was no some sort of id found when they found his body. His face was burnt to extent that only his bone was left. It was a murder the police said, so every report should be given straight to them which mean you need to carry out detailedautopsyand submit the report within 24hours from the recorded time you had received the cadaver.
“New case?” Wooseok stop by while you were preparing yourself for the autopsy. He always the first to know when there’s a murder case and you never know how. He loves to tease you when you use full personal protective equipmentsaying that you looked like a astronaut.
“Yeah. They want the full report in 24hour. Like usual.” You sighed while putting in your gown and he help you tie it up securely from the back.
“Are you alone? Where’s your intern?” He looked around for another person outside the procedure room for your intern but only greeted by the cold eerie corridor which made the hair on hi nape to stand every time.
“I don’t know. He didn’t showed up this morning, didn’t call or text me at all. I already informed my head so she’ll find someone else to replace him for today.” You put on your second gloves then your eye shield. Turning to face him to see his grinning face.
“My little astronaut.” He tapped your head with a playful grin then sent you off with a kiss on your forehead into the cold room leaving only you with the cadaver.
You first checked every detail on the outer skin for evident before cut open the chest using the equipment carefully. You heard the door open and you stop to turn back looking at the person who you assume will assist you throughout the autopsy.
“I supposed you are here to replace my intern?” You asked and he only nod. He was tall. Taller than your intern, but you never saw him anywhere before.
“Are you new?” You asked again, but the stoic looking guy only give you another nod. So you assumed that he must be nervous and might not really know well the procedure.
“I’m Y/N by the way. Weird, they never mentioned they’re taking new intern this month. Come, you just need to hand me any equipment when I ask you to. Its your first day, so I wont give you hard time.” You gestured him with aa assuring smile to the other side of the metal bed and he obeyed. He does look nervous.
The autopsy went quite stressing you would say. Because the guy was constantly vomiting and it slows you down. But you couldn’t blame him at all. You fainted the first time you saw an open clean cadaver during your second year of university all you could do was give him encouraging smile and told him that it was okay if he wanted to rest. But he didn’t leave he stood there for hours with you obeying your orders until you were done. But never once he open his mouth to speak. Only to vomit.
“You’re done here, I just need to check the organs for a bit and I’m done too. I’ll do the rest of the report, you can go back to your station. Thank you for the good work.” You smiled but he didn’t he just nodded and ready to take his leave when he heard you whispered.
“Inflammation on the intestine. Interesting.” You mumbled then took the blade to slice open the inflamed part and found a microchip. You took the chip using a forceps and didn’t realize how the man that assisted you stops in his track and eye grew wider at the chip that you were holding. You flinch hard when you heard someone knock on the glass from the outside of the room.
“God damnit.” You cursed. You saw a stranger standing outside looking at you with a surprised look, he was in shock but then you saw urgency in his face pointing to your intern and gesturing you to move away from him before he rushed to the entrance door which is the opposite side of it and you were dumbfounded.
But before you could ask the intern about the commotion, you saw him took something from his back and the next thing you know, he pointed a gun right at your face making you freeze and you swear your blood was dried out because you were shocked and terrified. Your whole life flashed on the tip of the gun and you don’t even dare to look away from the gun.
“Now, place that chip inside that evident bag and give it to me.” He pointed the gun to the bag then back to you and you do as he said. You heard the door slams open and a shot fired making you duck down and scrambled to the trolley where you placed your equipment to take cover hand still holding on the bag clutched to your chest. You were shaking profusely and you waited for another shot. But instead you saw the stranger run to your side and took the chip from your hand putting it inside a case. He was crouching next to you and you stare at him waiting for explanation. But it never came.
“You need to come with me. He had seen your face, you need to hide for the time being.” He didn’t look at you but looking for the intern. Another shot was fired by the intern and he fired back you assume hit his target, because you could a loud thud and a grunt. You hurriedly took off your gloves and all of the equipment from your body before taking his hand. Next thing you know, you were already at the hospital lobby hand in hand rushing to the entrance. That’s when you saw your boyfriend who was leaning on the counter checking some paper. Almost like he could sense someone was looking at him, he raised his head and found your eyes immediately. He’s looking at you then at your close proximate between you and the stranger then looking down to your hand that was holding the stranger’s hand. He looked confused. He then put the paper down at the counter and try to run to you but it was difficult because the lobby was crowded that he keep bumping into people, he was calling your name few times with a pained expression. He looked hurt and it hurts you. You try to pull your hand from the stranger and run to Wooseok but his grip was getting tighter.
“My boyfriend. Please let me just explain to him.” You tugged his hand and you both stop. He was hesitating but let you go eventually. But the minute you took a step toward Wooseok, you heard a gunshot and everyone starting to run from every direction making you lose Wooseok from your sight. Everything was chaotic, you heard kids were crying and their parents were comforting them on the floor and they were bumped by the crown almost stepped over. You feel like crying seeing how scared the crowd was, there’s a old people who was covering their ear in fear and it broke you heart. You couldn’t stop blaming yourself. If you just hand the chip to the shooter earlier, this wont be happening.
You saw the shooter who just exited the lift still holding his gun upward with a bloody shirt on his shoulder. You recognize him, he was the one who disguised as your intern earlier. You wanted to run to him and stop him, you were in rage, you want to fight him but you don’t know how. He was kicking someone who was on his way and you feel your blood boiling inside you. You were about to scream at him when feel a tug on your bag and you saw the stranger cocked his head to the entrance, you look back again to the crowd to look for your boyfriend. When you couldn’t find him you turn back to the stranger and saw his apologetic eyes.
“Run to the black Audi outside. I’ll cover for you.”
“We need to help them. There’s children in here. We can’t just leave.” You were crying but you don’t know since when. It was anger, not fear. It was rage, frustration.
“The police will come. We need to take the microchip to the police immediately. Please. Save yourself first.” There was urgency in his voice, he was pleading, almost like saving you was his main reason why he showed up. He grabs your hand and persuaded you until you obeyed.
***
You were at the police headquarters but you were locked inside a cold room and were interrogated by the police and the stranger was nowhere to be seen.
“Where did you found the chip? This contains the government’s confidential files and it should be in the Blue House. Why is it in your possession?” He asked for the hundredth time.
“I told you already. I was the one who did the autopsy for the dead body I just received this morning and I found this inside his gut. I work for the government I would have finished the autopsy report if it wasn’t someone try to take it away from me and your guy had to bring me here.” You’re on the verge to snap at the officer, but you didn’t because you want the interrogation to end a soon as possible and call Wooseok. He must be dead worried.
But they didn’t let you go and it was already midnight. You saw one of the officer’s wristwatch when the send you some food that you didn’t touch. You back hurts because you had been sitting down since the moment you’re arrived, your hair was a mess by the constant tugging and scratching because you couldn’t stand sitting doing nothing. Your face flinches to the cold when you rest your face at the table and let out a long sigh. But before you could close your eyes, you heard someone was opening the door sneakily. You turn to look at the person.
“Hey come on. We need to run.” The stranger took your hand and you let him dragged you out from that place. You don’t really know why you obeyed. Maybe you loved the thrill, the adrenaline that surged every time you’re running away.
“They must’ve out of their mind locking an agent inside a police headquarter.” He just mumbled the word, but you heard. He sounds frustrated, maybe something went wrong. You wanted to ask why but you saved it for later. You just need to focus on getting out from that place that instant.
***
“Sorry about your boyfriend. I wish I could give you more time.” He breaks the silence in the car that he stole.
“I cannot say its fine. But what choices do we have. Thank you though, for saving me.” You said without looking at him. You stare at the light thinking about Wooseok. His pained expression when he couldn’t reach you. But your mind couldn’t fight the curiosity to know what was the chaos all about. What so special about the chip and why you found it inside a dead body intestine.
“What’s with the microchip? Why the made such a fuss for that thing?”
“It’s the evident of corruption that was happening inside the blue house, treason, murder, bribery. Everything that can be use to take down everyone that involved.”You nodded still looking at him waiting for more information. But he didn’t seem to have a plan to give you more.
“But you don’t have it now.”
“Says who?” He smirked taking it out from his back pocket showing it to you. Your eyes widen in shock and asked how he got it back.
“It was a bad idea to lock me in there. The whole department had been compromised. The police will come for us.”
“What? So they’re going to hunt us now? Who are you people? How did I get involved into all this?” You grunt to your last word and let out a long sigh tugging your hair again.
“You can put it that way. I work for the government too. But I’m from a team that was established by the president himself for special mission like this, only few people in the Blue House is aware about our existence. Yesterday I got this mission to retreat the microchip and they asked me to investigate more about it. The one at the hospital earlier was the people who try to get the chip to blackmail any powerful person on that list for money and power. The police, some are already know about that shit and they try to destroy the microchip to save their bosses ass.” He explained without once taking his eyes off the road. He didn’t pause or stuttered. He’s telling the truth right? But you need to help him solve this so you can live a normal life again right?
“How are you going solve this?”
“I don’t know yet. I couldn’t call my boss to inform him that I have this. If I use cellphone, they can track us anywhere. So we’re basically on our own.” You had goosebumps when he said you both need to solve it without any help. You gulped hard. He clearly saw how nervous you are and chuckled.
“It’s okay. You can trust me. I won’t harm you.”
***
He drove for another few hour until you reached Seoul which you never step foot on before. You rejected a few offer to work and move to Seoul, because you heard work is more hectic in the big city. Your current work already taking most of your time and you couldn’t think of any place that were busier than your place. You love Busan even you didn’t grew up there, because you love the smell of the sea every time you drove by after busy day at the morgue.
You both checked in a suite and he left you to buy something to eat and you decided to take a shower while he’s gone. You stayed a little longer letting the water wash down all the tense in tour muscle. You thought about how it all started, you remember how scare you are when the gun was pointed to you. You remember how confused Wooseok face looked and it kills you. You couldn’t call him. You’re too scare to take the risk, even the tiniest one. But there’s nothing you could do about it, you just going to follow Seungyoun and trust him so you can go home. You hope. You thought you took longer because when you’re out, you saw a new set of clothes laid on your bed. Black leather jacket, white tee, black skinny and a sneaker. You found a black sports bra and matching small pant underneath all the clothes. You were thankful because you don’t need to wear your hideous hospital uniform anymore.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to be rude buying you those.” He couldn’t finish his word but gesture his hands to his chest up and down and you caught it right away with a awkward laugh.
“It’s fine. It’s comfortable. Thank you.” You smile before taking the seat next to him with a proper distance to eat the takeout’s. You were starving, so you just eat like you usually do. Loud and eating like you’ve been starved for days. He was amused by the sigh of woman eating so loud like that, he couldn’t help to chuckle.
“I bought everything referring to my girlfriend’s size just so you know. I just don’t want you to think that I checked you out or a pervert.”
“It does fit perfectly. I guess I need to thank her someday.”
“No need for that.” He said bitterly, but still had those calm demeanors on his features.
“Why?” You realize that you asked too much. But you couldn’t help yourself.
“She’s dead.” A pang of guilt surge wildly inside you and you was about to apologize when he cut you.
“You look like you needed some sleep.”He lean over to get a clearer view of your dark circle under your eyes. You thought that it must be hard for him to mention her so you stop asking.
“I can’t I have insomnia.” You blurt out slurping the noodle making a loud sound which he had grown use to. He was a bit surprised when you said it like it was nothing to you. Like it doesn’t matter if you sleep or not. He noticed how optimistic you are even after what happened earlier.
“What you usually do when you can’t sleep?” He asked eating his portion in an opposite manner.
“I read.” He scoffed and you shot him a glare as if it’s a weird thing to have reading as a hobby and mouthed ‘what’.
“Leaving your boyfriend alone in bed?”
“No we don’t live together.”
“Odd.”
“What? He never mentioned about it and I never thought about moving out from my house. Besides I love my own privacy. We’re doing just fine living separately.” He made an ‘o’ face and nod.
“I’ve been following you around but didn’t even know your name. That is odd.” You squint your eye to him and he just smiles flaunting his dimple on his cheek. You noticed how good looking the man was, his hair pulled back, fair skin, tall and well built.
“I’m Seungyoun.” You nod with a smile before continue digging into your noodle ignoring the man who was waiting for your turn to tell him your name.
“You?”
“Y/N.”
“Thank you Y/N for trusting me.”
“Actually I don’t trust you.” He cocked his head to the side, confused.
“Why did you follow me though?” He asked and you crooked your brow to search for answer somewhere.
“I don’t know. I just feel safe with you. Maybe that’s why.” He smiled to your answer and let silence engulf the air until you both finish eating. It almost 5 in the morning when you excuse yourself to your room while he still sat in the living room try to decode the chip.
***
You tossed and turn on the bed couldn’t sleep at all. It would be better if you had your book with you so you decided to do what you always did when you were restless. You took your cigarette and just sit on the bathtub. A habit you developed when you’re alone, when you already read all the books in your house, when you don’t know any better thing to do. Lay on the empty tub fully dressed, sometime you managed to fall asleep, waking up with sores all over your body. You rest your head on the cold ceramic staring the lightbulb trying to focus on it. Blocking all the thoughts that been bombarding your mind, all the indistinct voices in your head. You hummed a few melodies and loving how you voice echoed throughout the small spaces.
“Y/N?”
“Yes?”
“Are you taking a bath again?”
“No. Just contemplating life.” You heard him chuckle from the other side of the door.
“We’re leaving in ten. Get ready. Tell me if you need more time.”
“I’ll be out in minutes.”
“So, you’re smoking?” he asked eye still on the road but you just nod not caring if he see it or not.
“It’s an addiction I developed when I couldn’t sleep or I had read the entire book.” Your eyes still on the road. You know the stigma people had for girls who smokes. But he didn’t throw you dirty looks or anything he just focused on the road.
“Where are we going?”
“We’re going to hand this to someone, I can’t decode the microchip. I had to admit, I’m bad at that kind of stuff.” He chuckeld.
“I thought you said we can’t trust anyone.”
“He’s in my team.”
You were tailing him closely inside a café walking to far back corner of the café where you can see a tall man waved at Seungyoun with a big smile on his face.
“Seungwoo.” Seungyoun called when the other guy pulls him into a welcoming hug. You just bowed to him and you saw he was confused for a minute before bowing back to you.
“Here.” Seungyoun slides the microchip to Seungwoo and he start to work on the microchip without a word.
“You want anything to eat?” Seungyoun asked with a soft voice that caught you off-guard. You look at him with wide eye and he looked slightly confused.
“What?” He asked when you looked surprised with the simple question.
“Black coffee.” You almost stuttered, but glad you didn’t.
“Okay.” He grinned then ruffled your head. His gesture made your heart flutter just like how it did when you kissed Wooseok for the first time. He seems to be shocked by his own gesture because he was staring at his hand for a moment before excusing himself to order your coffee leaving you alone with his friend. You played with your finger preventing yourself to ask any question distracting his work.
“You resemble his late girlfriend alot. I really thought that YooA came back to life when I saw you walked in.” You straighten your back because you didn’t know what to comment about that information. You just nod and was thinking whether to thank him or just shut up.
“Did he tell you about her?” You found he was already looking at you and you were shocked when you met his eyes.
Before you could answer him you heard someone was screaming. You recognize that scream, it was the same scream when you was at the hospital, it was like dejavu. Almost like a reflex, you pushed the table to your back and grab Seungwoo’s shoulder pulling him to the ground with you hiding behind the table when you heard a gunshot. Longer this time, multiple shots. The glass window shattered and the shooting just won’t stop. Your heart pounding so hard and you hands were shaking franticly.
“Seungyoun.”You whispered when you bravely peeked you head over the table to look for him. Which you regret instantly as you saw few dead body laying on the floor and stood three armed men one with machine gun you assumed. You lean back on the table and grab your chest. You’re on the verge of crying when you saw innocent people sprawled lifelessly on the floor.
“Hey are you okay.” Seungwoo grab your shoulder and shook your body when your breath starting to shakes as well. But before you could bring your sense back you heard a click. Way too close to your ear. Seungwoo face’s turning pale and he was looking over you.
“Now get up slowly both of you.” You heard a man’s voice from your back and you obeyed as Seungwoo put his hand up and you followed suit.
“You. Turn slowly facing me.” Your breath is still shaking as you turn your body slowly to face the owner of the voice. Your felt your hand itched to move disobeying your brain and you had to ball up you fist to take control of your hand before you do something stupid. You exhaled the breath that you had been holding when you could finally see his face with his gun pointing to your forehead. Twice in the pan of 24 hours. Your eyes were looking for Seungyoun and when you spot him, he was leaned to the counter clutching his ribs. He was shot and that scene of Seungyoun struggled to take cover besides the counter made your blood surged to tour head blurring your eyes. You saw another armed man walking toward him and pointed his gun to his head. You thought you almost faint but no. You did what you thought you only dare doing it in your dream.
You felt the same feeling when you’re at the hospital but stronger this time. Frustration, fear but mostly rage. You had this urgency to run to Seungyoun and save him. You saw how the shooter in front of you moving his thumb to pull the trigger but you beat him to it shoving his hand upward and he shot the ceiling instead distracting the one who was aiming Seungyoun. He was aiming his gun to you now, and Seungyoun was panic, he try move to stop the second shooter but couldn’t.
“Seungwoo get down.” You shouted as you elbowed the guy’s rib full force making him lower his body you saw the opportunity to snatch the gun away from his hand and you did. Shots are fired again and you used the dead man’s body to shield you from the shot and he was dead in instant. You grip his neck to keep him as your shield and you aimed to the second shooter, pulled the trigger and hit his head. The other guy was frantically tried to reload his machine gun and you let go of the man you’ve been holding to shot the last one.
“Back up, back up.” He shouts to the mic on his collar before you blow his head as well. Your chest heaved up and down heart pounding hard. You felt relieved, satisfied. You heard tire screech from afar and you know that was the ‘back up’ that the last guy had summoned. You throw the gun away and run to Seungyoun. You saw Seungwoo too running to the same direction.
“Are you an agent too?”Seungwoo asked eyeing you checking Seungyoun’ wound, he was shot on his lower abdomen and you were confident that the bullet didn’t any of his fatal organs. Seungyoun just stare at you in utter shock couldn’t find any words to say, any question to ask. He was waiting for your answer to Seungwoo’s question. He wanted to know too. Because he know that move, agility and precision.
“No. Where’s your car?”You didn’t look at him or Seungyoun and you were surprised yourself looking at how calm you are in that situation. It’s like someone else had taken over your body with your mind still conscious.
“Y/N.” Seungyoun called. But you ignored him. You were busy looking for any cloth to press his wound to stop the bleeding.
“At the back.”Seungwoo noticed you were looking for something while he helps Seungyoun to sit.
“Do you have the chip?” He showed you his bag and you nod before looking at the car Seungyoun stole earlier. You’re still thinking about using that car because you left your bag inside but It was impossible to get to the car without being seen by those people.
“Take him to your car.”You ordered to Seungwoo because you can risk Seungyoun’s life for your personal stuff.
“What about you?” Seungwoo ask clearly not agreeing the idea of any of you left behind.
“I’m not going anywhere without you.” Seungyoun took a grip on your arm and you pulled away gently looking at him with an assuring smile.
“I’m taking my stuff in the car. Meet me at the hospital few blocks away. Wait for me at the ER.” You took off your jacket then your tee leaving only your sports bra and both men were in shock. You press his wound with you tee and put his hand over it asking him to put some pressure to stop the bleeding before letting it go, putting back your jacket and run out from the café to the car ignoring their protest.
You waited for a while until few black car came in sight. You waited until they saw you and sprinting with all your energy when they started chasing you to give Seungwoo and Seungyoun more time to escape. You escaped the chaser by hiding at the alley and blending in with people in the busy road. You didn’t know how but every movement that you made like it was involuntary. It’s like your body has a mind of its own. It’s like you had known every corner of the alley and the road. You couldn’t help to think that something was missing and you had found a fragment from the shattered memories you had lost. The one that you swore to Wooseok that you will never try to find.
You rushed to the ER and your guess was right, nobody paid any attention to you, the ER was hectic, a chaos you would say, nurses and doctor rushed to one bed to another, few patients was left on the wheelchair unattended. You took the opportunity to sneak into the storage room to take everything you need to treat Seungyoun’s wound and rush out unnoticed running as fast as you can to Seungwoo’s car that was already waiting for you at the waiting area. You were greeted by glares from Seungyoun who was leaned on the back seat and Seungwoo drove away leaving the hospital before anyone notice.
***
“Are you sure you’re not an agent Y/N?” Seungwoo asked again after you done treating Seungyoun’s wound and sedated him so he can sleep.
“Yes Seungwoo. I am hundred percent sure.” You take the seat opposite to him on the couch. You’re at his mother’s house which is vacant since his mother decided to move back to their hometown. He said that it’s safe for them to crash there. But only for a while.
“Where did you get all the swift moves and how do you know how to use guns?” He asked again suspiciously.
“I’m working for the crime forensic. I used to train with the police because it’s necessary when your work is associated with crime and the police.” You explained try to convince him. Because it was the truth. You’re not the best and never once you shot anyone or did anything like you did at the café before. You never were in such situation before. You never had the courage. But seeing Seungyoun on the floor triggered something inside you, but you don’t know what is it that had been triggered that gives you so much courage to shot someone like that. Seungwoo just give you a long sigh.
“You did well though. Thank you for saving us.” You looked at him and he seems like giving to ask you more question. You lay on the couch waiting for Seungyoun to wake up while Seungwoo went to see their boss to report about the microchip. You fell asleep with ease that afternoon.
AN: This is by far my favorite fics that I ever written, I have tons of action fics in my draft that I never had the chance to finish because I ran out of idea. So I won’t make this one long and will only make two parts because I’m afraid that my mind went blank again. Feel free to like and repost and I hope you enjoy it. Part two is almost halfway done. Please, enjoy.

if you ever visit him while he's working, you'd grab the computer mouse and play a sample of a song he's working on
he'd sit down next to you after fetching some snacks for you
and his arm would snake around you to place his palm on top of your hand while you're controlling the mouse
as an additional bonus, minho would rest his head on your shoulders too
he says one his favourite paintings is of one he drew of your hands
(teasingly) "y/n, next time, i'll try sculpting your hands so that whenever i miss you, i can 'hold' them"
(blushes) "but why would you do that when you can get the real thing! call me and i'll come running to you" don't deny it, you would willingly do this for him
seungyoon
seungyoon loves skinship so he'd love to hold your hand but wouldn't want to do so without your permission in case you don't like it
so he'd longingly stare at your fingers instead
you always end up telling yoon that he can hold your hand whenever he wants
(which you'd like very much)
he'd respond by grinning eagerly (you'd observe his eyes lighting up too) and happily taking your hand
this is where you think he's so cute and proceed to fall in love with him all over again
likes to hold your hand whenever he's nervous because your touch comforts him
will clasp his hands around both of yours, like a shell, to warm you up when he realises you're cold
offers you his gloves that are inside his coat pocket
but you reject it because then you wouldn't be able to feel the warmness of yoon's hands
jinu
jinwoo is definitely the romantic type
so if he's feeling brave, he'd softly kiss the back of your hand
it just feels so natural and comforting
he cares about you a lot so when he holds your hands, he'd treat them like the most valuable thing he's ever touched
loves it whenever you talk so passionately about something because it gives him the opportunity to sneakily coil his pinky around your own
you'd be so distracted that you wouldn't notice until you look down Σ(゜ロ゜;)
when the two of you are travelling, you'd always clutch his hand tightly because of his tendency to get lost
a soft laugh from jinwoo would follow as well as a subtle blush across his cheeks
is a professional at understanding when you need your hand to be held as consolation
will also smother you in hugs afterwards

Twisted Threads
Turquoise Waters
Pairing: Seungyoon x Reader
Genre: Soulmates AU
Word Count: 1,658
Summary: You’re connected to your soulmate via a thin, colored threads that only you and your soulmate can see. Each pair has their own unique color of thread and it’s supposed to be a right of passage to find the person at the end of their string.
Seungyoon leaned back in the chair listening to the sounds of graphite scratching over parchment, his eyes settling on the teen boy in front of him attempting to solve test problems that he gave him. His eyes drifted down to the turquoise thread that trailed from his chest out the window, it disappearing a few feet out, “Mr. Kang…?” The boys voice reached his ears and he glanced back up at him.
“Liam, aren’t you supposed to be working on those questions?” Seungyoon raised forward, resting his forearms against his thighs.
“I’ve already finished them…” Liam spoke timidly as Seungyoon stood from his chair, coming over to take the paper from the desk and looking over it. He reached for a red marker from the desk and started to mark up the test.
“You need to show your work when you’re—”
“Why are you leaving the states?” Liam’s blurted question made him look up from test.
“What do you mean?”
“I heard you talking to my mom and you told her this is the last week you can tutor me. Why?” Liam’s cornflower blue irises glared up into his eyes, he could tell that his student wasn’t too happy with him, but he had other things he needed to do.
“Oh…” Seungyoon sat the paper and marker down on the desk, “You know why I came here right?”
“To find your soulmate?”
“Right. I came here to try to find the person at the end of this thread.” Seungyoon drew a circle around the thread. Liam stared at the empty space on Seungyoon’s chest and then glanced down at his lime green thread.
“You haven’t found them yet?” Liam asked and he shook his head.
“I’ve traveled all over Australia and all 50 states and haven’t found them, but thanks to you and a few other students, I have enough to travel again.” Seungyoon glanced down at his precious thread, remembering why he started this journey in the first place, to find the one person he’s supposed to be with.
“I’ve always wondered… what color is your thread?”
“My thread?” He stared at it a little longer before giving Liam an answer, “I used to stare at it all day and wonder what to call this color because is almost too dark to be aquamarine, but too light to be teal… so I call it turquoise.” Liam could tell that Seungyoon admired his thread’s color, and understood why he was leaving.
“I hope you find them soon, Mr. Kang.” The smile that Seungyoon witnessed appear on Liam’s face, let him know that it was okay to go and he was glad that his favorite student was okay with him leaving.
“Alright, punk, let's finish this up so you can turn in early for your exam tomorrow.” Liam nodded as a laugh left him.
“Thank you for letting me tutor your son, Mrs. Everett, it was a pleasure.” Seungyoon sat his bag onto one of the breakfast bar stools and zipped up his bag.
“No, thank you, I’m glad that we found someone like you to help him in his studies.” Mrs. Everett slipped a white envelope across the counted, his eyes flicking up to see her slight smile. He picked up the envelope to see more money in it than he charged, “This is a little something for you.”
“Mrs. Everett, I couldn’t—”
“It’s hard trying to find your mate, isn’t it?” Eyes that matched Liam’s stared at him, twinkling under the kitchen light, “I remember searching for my late husband to find him in the most unexpected place, in my hometown. It’s a miracle I found him, he was so ordinary looking that I might have passed him if my thread didn’t completely fill out when I came close to him. Maybe you’ll find your person there, in your hometown, like I did.”
“I’ve searched all through South Korea, unfortunately, but I will surely keep it in mind. Thank you, Mrs. Everett, for everything.”
“If you’re ever back in the states, please come visit us, we’ll be so glad to see you.”
“Of course—” The sound of his phone ringing in his pocket spooked him, “I’m sorry, I’ll be sure to come see you guys before I leave, I promise.”
“Be safe on your way home, Yoon.” He nodded, pulling the phone from his pocket to see Mino’s name on the screen. He clicked the green phone button on the screen as he walked to the front door.
“Hey, Mino—You’re up early?” He walked out of the Everett house and closed the door behind him, and then started to walked towards his hostel.
“Yeah, Jinu screaming at eight in the morning was a great way to wake up.” Mino sighed.
“Did you find out why he was screaming?” He asked and Mino sighed once more.
“The first thing I did when I saw him and he didn’t tell me… When are you coming home?”
“Well, I’m on my way to South America in the next few days since I got more than enough money to get there.”
“You’re going south? We thought you would’ve been home already.”
“There’s a library in Buenos Aires that I want to visit. There’s supposed to be a Professor there that studies Thread Theory.”
“You’re really trying to find this person, aren’t you—Will you pick up your feet? I can hear you scuffing them over the phone.” Seungyoon looked down at his feet, laughing a bit as he picked them up, starting to walk the right way.
“Yes, I want to find them, even if it takes me forever.”
BUENOS AIRES:
The heat in South America was worse than any American summer he had lived through, but he had to come here, he had to talk to this Professor to figure out how to understand how his thread worked. Seungyoon made his way down the street filled with people trying to make his way to the Biblioteca Nacional Mariano Moreno, the one library in the entire world that held the way of finding his soulmate. He walked into the library to see the main desk with three women sitting behind it, he made his way up to it and one of the women raised her head for her eyes to meet him, “Welcome to the National Library of Argentina, how may I assist you today?”
“I’m looking for Professor Sosa—”
“Study Room 324 is where you will find him. Take the stairs up to the third floor and take a left.”
“Thank you.” He followed the directions he was given and he ended up in front of room 324, his hand knocked on the door and a deep voice made its way outside the door.
“Come in.” Seungyoon walked into the room to see a man with thick black hair sitting at the desk a few feet from him.
“Professor Sosa?” The man’s eyes looked up at him, settling on the center of his chest before meeting Seungyoon’s eyes.
“That would be me.”
“I’m Kang Seun—”
“I know who you are.” Sosa stood from his seat and walked over to Seungyoon, placing a hand to his chest, “You’re really far from home.”
“I am, I’m searching for my mate, but I feel like I’m not getting any clos—”
“Turquoise, right?” Sosa removed his hand from Seungyoon’s chest for his eyes to meet Seungyoon’s, “I can see the color of your thread, but that’s it. I can’t tell you who’s on the other side, but I can help you read your thread’s compass.”
“Hold on, compass?” He asked as Sosa walked over to a bookshelf, his fingers running down the spines of books until he stopped on a book with an old faded red cover.
“Your thread has a kind of compass to it, depending on where you are and how close you are to your mate, your thread should reach out further. How far can you see it right now?” Seungyoon looked at his thread and followed it with his eyes.
“About three inches.” Sosa flipped through the pages of the book and stopped on a page.
“The further you are from your partner, the shorter the distance of the thread is, so your thread could be inches long or feet long, the closer you are your thread will stretch and complete itself as you get in feet of your partner. Seeing as yours isn’t that long, you’re extremely far from them.”
“So, you’re telling me that my thread, which was longer in the states, meant I was closer to them than I am now?” Seungyoon stared at his thread as he turned a bit his eyes noticing the thread stretching a bit, “Wait… What way am I facing now?”
“South I believe.” Sosa watched at Seungyoon turned in his spot and come to a stop.
“North east…?”
“Did it grow?”
“By like a foot.”
“Go. You’re wasting time here. People move all the time and you don’t want to miss them, do you?” Seungyoon looked at Sosa and then back at his string, he was right, he himself was moving every day, what was his mate doing?
“Thank you, Professor Sosa, you’ve been a great help!” Seungyoon turned on his heels and ran down the halls and stairs to reach the outside.
Seungyoon plopped down into one of the chairs in the airport next to his gate. His eyes looked at the plane ticket that read “Barcelona, Spain,” the butterflies in his stomach starting to flutter as his thoughts tired to imagine what the person at the end of his thread looked like. He was more than ready to meet them, and this flight was the next step, “Flight A2205 to Barcelona will begin boarding.”
“Time to go.” He smiled down at his thread as he got up from his seat and walked up to the desk, handing the man at the front desk his ticket and then boarding the plane.

It’s For the Best
A/N: Fourth spook season post, we’re right on schedule you guys! Also, this ones a bit simplistic, so I might come back in the future and revamp it. I would like to clarify that everything written in this story is complete fiction and isn’t to be taken as a true portrayal of reality.
Summary: A muse becomes smitten with her assigned person.
Word Count: 872
Genre: Muse AU, angst (?)
This wasn’t supposed to happen. You were just supposed to exist, to stay around him, inspiring him. He couldn’t even see you for heaven’s sake! That was the most annoying part of it all. Only other muses could see each other, otherwise you were all but invisible. The other muses you’d interacted with were happy with their purpose, they loved being able to inspire creators and watch them make beautiful things happen. You, on the other hand, weren’t satisfied. Sure, you loved when you got him to that perfect state of inspiration, the music he makes is just so… Amazing.
What you truly hated though, was not being able to experience the things he could. He got to sleep, to eat, have fun, just live his life in general, and he could fall in love if he wanted to, which was something you could never do. As a muse, you’d only ever had one purpose- to inspire the creators on Earth. There was no other purpose for you, that was your sole reason for existing. And to be honest, at least to you, it sucked. You wanted to experience what life was, to be able to sleep- goodness, what would that even be like? Or even fall in love, which was something you weren’t supposed to do.
That was the number one rule of being a muse, well, besides the whole inspiration thing. You’re not supposed to fall in love with the creator you’ve been assigned to. If that rule is broken you get immediately re-assigned to a different creator, at least if someone finds out, that is. But the thing about it is, you broke that rule a year into being assigned to Seungyoon. It was impossible not to, really. You’d been extremely careful ever since, making sure that you gave no outwardly signs of your feelings towards him.
Currently, he was in the studio, once again awake at a time when no one else was. You joined him, as per usual, and sat on the chair next to him. Music fills the studio, slightly choppy, and constantly skipping back to the beginning of the track as he edits and tweaks it to his heart’s content. Sometimes, on late nights like this, you liked to pretend that you could talk to him, especially since there were no other muses around to catch you.
Seungyoon’s eyes were focused on the screen, fingers tapping the table as he listened to the track blast through the speakers. “This doesn’t sound right.” He muttered to himself.
“Maybe if you boosted the harmony.” You suggested lightly as he paused the track.
As if he’d heard you, he moved to make the change you suggested. He restarted the track and sat back in his chair with a sigh, running his hand over his face roughly. After a minute, a small smile graced his face. “That’s a bit better.”
“Well, of course it is. You should really go home now though, it’s late and you need to wake up early.” You murmured, leaning over his shoulder to take a look at the screen.
Suddenly, he turned around, eyes wide and frantically flitting about the room. You wondered what had him all riled up, nobody else was here, you’d be able to sense them. “Who’s there?” He called out.
You rolled your eyes. “Nobody’s here, Seungyoon, geez. Just like you shouldn’t be, because it’s, like, three in the morning.”
He stood up, passing right through you as he stepped into the middle of the room. “I can hear you, I know someone’s here.”
Realization dawned on you. It was you he was hearing. “You can hear me?”
“Obviously I can hear you, but where are you? It sounds like you’re right next to me but this room’s empty. Wait, who are you?”
You almost forgot to answer his question, that’s how excited you were. Bouncing on the soles of your feet, you replied chirpily. “I’m right in front of you, I’m your muse! I was assigned to you a year ago. I can’t believe you can actually hear me, you aren’t supposed to be able to.”
Seungyoon shook his head, confusion settling on his features. “That’s not possible.” He turned, running a hand through his hair, and muttered to himself. “I’m suffering from sleep deprivation and am experiencing hallucinations as a result. This can be fixed if I go home and just sleep it off.”
“I’ve been trying to tell you to sleep, but you never listen.” You sigh, watching as he grabs his bag and shuts off the systems in the studio.
“This isn’t real. This isn’t real.” He chanted to himself as he pulled on his sweatshirt.
“It is, but it’s okay to think I’m not. You’ll go to sleep and forget about me, and maybe that’s for the best.”
Seungyoon walked out of the studio, and this time, you didn’t follow him. You had a feeling that once the morning came, he would equate all of this to a dream or hallucination, like he was already trying to do, and you would be gone. An incident such as this would not slip past the radar, you knew you would be re-assigned. It was for the best.

Like a moth attracted to a flame—despite the warnings
I moved closer, inched further, until I could see your beautiful face.
They say it is danger to fall in love with someone who is the opposite of you
Downright stupid, even; but sometimes I ask why, would it hurt?
But right now, as I find myself falling deeper, deeper—
I wish I never met you.
I wish I never heard your voice,
I wish I never saw your face;
I wish I never even tried.
It’s too late now, I guess.
I let myself fly towards the sun that is you
Now watch me melt–but not in regret.
They say it is danger to fall in love who is the opposite of you
Because you end up wishing you were enough, you were deserving—
And I could only suffer in silence.
I’d rather stay away.
I don’t belong in your world, after all.
And you—bright, youthful, all things beautiful—don’t deserve me.

The Watch - Part 4, Final Chapter
Genre: Time Travel!AU
Pairing: Seungyoon x You
Warnings: None
Part 1, 2, 3, 4 | Words: 3,906
The rest of the day seemed to fly by faster than any other day of Seungyoon’s life.
The nurse brought your daughter back not too much longer after Seungyoon had joined you in the hospital bed, and the two of you spent hours just... looking at her. Cooing over her tiny little fingers and toes. Gently poking her chubby little cheeks. Seungyoon held her and walked her around the room and talked to her and kissed her and took what seemed to be an endless amount of pictures.
Future him would thank him for that.
Around nine o’clock that night, Seungyoon carefully placed his daughter into the hospital-issued crib after having successfully lulled her to sleep. He then crept over to your bed, finding you were almost asleep yourself. He definitely couldn’t blame you; you’d been through a lot today.
“Are you going to sleep?” he asked softly as he squeezed next to you in your bed.
You simply hummed in response, your eyes fluttering closed. As soon as he laid down next to you, you snuggled up against him, pressing your face into his neck and letting out a very content sigh.
Already Seungyoon felt his heart start to ache. He only had three hours left with you, and if what you’d told him two years ago was correct, this was the last time he would get to travel forward. He wouldn’t get to see you again until he actually met you back in his present.
“When do we meet?” he asked, hoping you were tired enough to answer him without thinking.
“Yoon,” you chuckled wearily. “I already told you I’m not giving anything away.”
“Yeah, but --”
“Besides, I don’t remember the exact date. You’re the one who keeps track of all that. I would most definitely miss our anniversary if you weren’t around to write it on the calendar.”
That certainly sounded like him. Even his watch collection was perfectly organized, for goodness sake.
“Do you remember what time of year?” he asked hopefully.
“Yes, but I’m not telling you,” you mumbled, your voice getting sleepier and sleepier.
“Will you tell me anything?”
“Yes.”
Seungyoon’s eyebrows shot halfway up his forehead, and he turned to look down at you as best he could.
“I will tell you that the weather was nice, and it was in the morning. That’s all you get.”
“What kind of nice weather?”
“You’ll figure out what kind of weather I like,” you teased, chuckling weakly. “Now, I’m going to sleep. Good night.”
Seungyoon let out a breath, moving to press his lips to your forehead and sliding his arm around your shoulders. He squeezed you as he felt his throat start to tighten with emotion.
But then you suddenly lifted your head up, your eyes wide open as you gazed at him. “Oh, wait. You -- you’re going back after midnight.”
Seungyon nodded wordlessly.
“So... this is it for you,” you whispered.
He nodded again, still unable to speak around that lump in his throat.
Obviously, you could tell he wasn’t looking forward to leaving you... so you scooted up just a little and pressed your lips to his cheek.
“Okay,” you sighed. “I’ll tell you this: I’m pretty sure you don’t have to wait long. If I remembered the exact date we met, I... might tell you, but I really don’t. I’m sorry.”
“No, don’t be sorry,” he assured you, turning to meet your gaze. He lifted his hand to cradle your cheek, his thumb caressing your incredibly soft skin there.
A hint of a smile tugged at your lips, and you moved to snuggle back into him.
“You don’t have to wait long, we meet in the morning, and you’re wearing that watch,” you told him. “That’s all you get.”
“Thank you,” he grinned, nuzzling your hair and really having to hold back from squeezing you. You’d just had a baby a few hours ago, after all.
“You’re welcome,” you mumbled. He felt your lips moving against his neck, and a delicious shiver ran down his spine. “Good night. I love you. Don’t worry.”
He wanted so badly to respond to you with an “I love you, too,” but he wasn’t sure if that would be weird or not. He did feel like he loved you already, but the situation was far too complicated to be sure about anything.
He did know that he couldn’t wait to truly fall in love with you, though.
And he didn’t have to wait long.
As soon as Seungyoon knew for sure you were asleep, he gingerly slid his phone out of his pocket and pulled up Google. He then managed to take his watch off without waking you up (which made him wonder if you were a heavy sleeper, in general, or if you were just that exhausted from having a baby).
When he turned the watch over, he saw the engraving he had discovered as soon as he took it home from his family birthday party. But when he looked closer, he saw the serial number you had just mentioned.
How had he never noticed that before?
He carefully typed the serial number as well as the watch model, the initials, and the year -- TRC, 1936 -- into his phone. He held his breath as he clicked ‘Search.’
Surprisingly, the first result to pop up was an antique watch directory. He clicked on the link, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully as he began to read the entry.
Apparently, this watch had belonged to a pilot in World War II named Thomas Robert Champion.
Interesting.
But why did he need to know this? I mean, it was cool and all. But... you had told him specifically to look up the original owner of the watch.
Why?
I guess he should know by now to just trust you; you had already lived through your first meeting, so you obviously knew what you were talking about. If you said it was important for him to know about the owner of the watch, then it was important for him to know about the owner of the watch.
He tried to do some more research on this pilot guy, but he didn’t find much. There were some old census records, a birth certificate, a marriage certificate (he got married in 1936, so maybe the watch had been a wedding present?), and a death certificate. Surprisingly, he did not die in World War II but much later, in his old age.
Seungyoon ended up going down a rabbit hole of World War II research, and before he knew it...
It was midnight.
He hadn’t wanted to go back after his last visit, but he truly did not want to go back now.
He turned to face you, wanting nothing more than to reach out and smooth your hair back from your forehead. Kiss your adorable nose. Cradle your cheek in his palm. He wanted nothing more than to get up and go to his daughter’s crib, pick her up, hold her in his arms, rock her and coo at her.
But as much as he wanted to do those things, he knew he couldn’t. Not right now.
He needed to be patient.
And he knew, without a doubt, that you were worth whatever waiting he had to do. All of this was worth every single second he had to wait.
So, with a deep exhale, Seungyoon lifted up his wrist... and he turned the watch back. Four times.
As he expected, the blurred vision and the dizziness came on almost immediately, and he closed his eyes tightly to ward off any nausea.
And when it felt like the room was no longer spinning... he opened his eyes.
He was back in his bedroom, just like before. A glance at his phone showed it was just before 7:15am, just like before.
Well.
Guess it was time to get up and get ready for work.
As Seungyoon brushed his teeth and got dressed, he felt...
The best way to describe it was ‘empty.’ He felt empty.
He missed you already, and even though you had assured him didn’t have to wait long to meet you, he wouldn’t be able to hold you and kiss you for who knows how long?
A forlorn sigh escaped his lips as he approached his dresser, opening the top drawer so he could pick out which watch he wanted to wear.
As he reached inside for one with a leather band, he remembered something you’d said before you’d gone to sleep last night. You had told him that he had been wearing the watch when the two of you had met, so if he chose a different watch to wear... then that meant he wouldn’t meet you. Right?
Or maybe he would and things wouldn’t happen the way they should happen because he wasn’t wearing it.
Either way, he figured it was a good idea to wear the watch. Every day. From now on until he met you.
When he lifted the watch out of its slot in the tray, he was more than surprised to see... it was working. The hands were ticking away like they should have been.
Interesting.
Apparently, the reason he didn’t time travel more than twice was because... he couldn’t.
With a soft sigh, he slid the watch onto his wrist and carefully clasped it. It was highly unlikely he would meet you today -- I mean, what were the odds, right? -- but, still. He didn’t want to risk anything, especially since he knew what the future held.
Now that he had put the finishing touch on his outfit, he headed downstairs to make his morning cup of coffee and some toast before heading out. He jogged down the stairs, trying to whistle a jaunty tune to cheer himself up.
But that “cheerful” mood plummeted when he opened his cupboard and saw he was completely out of coffee.
Great.
Well, if he left for work now, he would have time to stop by a coffee shop and get a drink (and maybe a pastry) to go. That would help lift his spirits, at least. He was pretty sure he deserved a little treat after finding the love of his life and having to leave her -- twice.
Not to mention having to leave his brand new baby daughter!
Wow, now that he thought about it... four years from today would be his daughter's birthday. Like her actual birthday. Birth day. The day she would be born.
That was... really surreal to think about.
Seungyoon shook his head softly to get himself out of that thought process, and he grabbed his briefcase before he made his way out the door.
If he remembered correctly, there was a small coffee shop on the way to the subway station. He had been there once a long time ago, but he was the kind of person who typically didn’t like paying for a cup of coffee he could easily make himself at home. He didn’t need anything fancy -- just cream and sugar.
But in cases like this, he wouldn’t complain about the high price tag. He had no coffee at home, he didn’t have time to buy any, and he was in desperate need of caffeine.
Thankfully, it was a nice day outside. Not too warm yet, but not chilly enough to need an extra jacket. The sun was already out, but it was low enough in the sky to cast a nice, soft orange light.
Truly it was such a lovely morning; if only Seungyoon felt as lovely on the inside.
Yes, his heart was still homesick for you. It probably would be until he met you, and even then, it wouldn’t be fully healthy until the two of you were well and truly in a relationship.
Time traveling had been cool, don’t get me wrong. But the aftermath kind of sucked.
Seungyoon sighed about five times as he made his way down the sidewalk, and he couldn’t quite tell if they were sad, lonely sighs or anxious, impatient sighs. Probably a bit of both because those two emotions described him exactly right now.
He was lonely and impatient.
You had told him not to worry last night. He didn’t have to wait long.
But you had also said multiple times in the two days he’d spent with you that you had a terrible memory!
He was your walking calendar. He kept your life organized.
Seungyoon suddenly wondered what your life was like now. You didn’t have him to keep track of things for you, although apparently, that was the least of your problems.
Along with telling him he wouldn’t have to wait long and that the two of you met in the morning when the weather was nice, you had also told him you had been struggling when you met him. Struggling financially and struggling with other issues, as well.
Did that mean you were having a hard time right now? This very moment?
Seungyoon’s heart ached even more than it already did at just the thought of you going through any sort of difficult situation without him there to help and support you. From the sounds of it, they were issues you just couldn’t bring yourself to face on your own.
Even if you hadn’t told him he had helped you, he knew he would.
When he had time jumped for the first time, landing two years in the future, you had said to him, “You don’t know this now, but someday you will: I will literally do anything for you.”
Well, he hadn’t even actually met you yet, and he knew the same was absolutely and entirely true for him, as well.
He would literally do anything for you.
By the time Seungyoon arrived at the coffee shop right across the street from the subway station, he had fought a full-on war with himself.
One side of him wanted to just let himself feel sad and lonely. He missed you, and that was normal!
The other side of him wanted to just deal with it and get over it. You had assured him he didn’t have to wait long, so it kind of felt like he was being dramatic.
Even if he had to wait more than a month... he would get to spend a lifetime with you.
He knew without a doubt it would be worth it.
So, just as he opened the door to the coffee shop and joined the line, he decided he would calm down the drama. He would do his best to live life as normally as he could and just... wait for you.
He wouldn’t pine or yearn or long or ache for you.
...Too much.
But!
Then!
Just as he opened the door to the coffee shop and joined the line and decided he would calm down the drama and do his best to live life as normally as he could and just wait for you!
He looked at the front of the line!
He looked at the employee working at the register!
And!
There!
You!
Were!
His heart stopped momentarily, and it really took everything in him not to bowl over the people in front of him and run to you.
...So, apparently, he wasn’t calming down the drama just yet.
Oh, god, was this really it?! Was this really the nice morning you were talking about?!
It -- I mean, it was today?!
Was it really going to be this easy?!
Seungyoon’s gaze searched the rest of the shop, looking around as if to make sure everything else was real. And as his eyes made their way back toward the register, he half-expected to see someone else entirely. Truly, he wouldn’t be surprised if he had just imagined you.
But... no.
There you were.
Smiling and greeting customers and typing keys and swiping cards and handing receipts.
God, you were so beautiful.
Although, he quickly realized he wouldn’t have needed you to tell him that you were going through a rough patch. You were still beautiful, yes, but he could tell just by looking at you that something was wrong. After seeing you happy and healthy and thriving two years in the future, four years in the future... he could tell.
As he shuffled forward in line, his mind began to race with thoughts of what exactly he should say to you.
He knew there were two things he absolutely needed to bring up: the watch and your name.
You hadn’t told him specifically to bring up the watch, but you’d told him to look up the owner. And there had been a certain twinkle in your eye which told him that information would come in handy.
But how could he bring up his watch? And just tell you about its original owner out of the blue? That would be... really weird.
I mean, you would just be taking his coffee order. There would barely be enough time to say anything other than what he wanted to drink. And the fact he liked your name. (He absolutely could not forget that.)
His heart began to pound, and it only got louder the closer he got to the register.
Oh, god, you hadn’t even seen him yet, and he was already a mess.
But you’d told him he had done a good job of pretending like he didn’t know you!
...How?!
When the person in front of him had finished ordering, Seungyoon honestly wondered if he would be able to breathe properly let alone speak properly.
His heart stopped when the person stepped away. His stomach flipped when his eyes landed on you.
And a smile instantly appeared on his lips when your eyes landed on him.
“Good morning,” you greeted as he took a giant step up to the counter.
“Hey, good morning,” he replied.
...What?!
His voice sounded completely normal! Smooth as silk! Smooth as the head of his newborn daughter! The one he would have with you in four years!
“What can I get for you?” you asked with a friendly smile.
“Just a medium coffee, please. Black with some room at the top,” he told you, already reaching into his pocket for his wallet.
“All right,” you murmured as you punched in his order. And when you told him the total, he slid his card out of his wallet and handed it to you.
“Oh, wow, I like your watch,” you said as you took the card from him. “It’s gorgeous.”
...Bingo.
“Thanks,” he murmured, trying to hold back the most delighted grin. “It’s vintage, actually.”
“Really? Is it like a family heirloom?” you asked before swiping his card.
“No, it was just a gift, but I did manage to look up who the original owner was. There are initials on the back and a serial number. It was actually a pilot back in World War II.”
“Oh my gosh, that is so cool,” you replied, and you actually sounded genuine. “What are the initials?”
“T-R-C,” Seungyoon answered, watching as his receipt began printing. He anticipated you handing him his card back, but... you didn’t.
“...Huh,” you murmured. “That’s weird. Those were my grandpa’s initials. He was also a pilot in World War II.”
You frowned in thought for just a second, but then you shook yourself out of it, smiling again as you tore the receipt and gave it to Seungyoon along with his card.
“Really?” Seungyoon asked curiously. “What was his name?”
“Thomas Robert Champion,” you said, your smile turning somewhat wistful.
...Ah, so that’s why you told him to look up the owner of the watch.
Because the owner of the watch was your grandpa.
He decided to wait and tell you that at a later time; there was no rush because he knew for certain there would be a later time. Many later times, in fact.
“Oh, neat,” he said. “I’ll have to look it up again, see if I can find out more.”
You simply nodded, your lips quirking into a very adorable smile, and Seungyoon was just about to step away...
But then he remembered the most important thing!
The thing he had definitely not wanted to forget!
“I like your name, by the way,” he said, gesturing to your name tag.
Your smile immediately turned shy, and Seungyoon decided to just go for it. Why not?
“It’s as beautiful as the person it belongs to.”
“Oh, wow,” you chuckled, rolling your eyes playfully but still avoiding his gaze bashfully. “That’s quite a line.”
“But it’s true. Do you usually work here in the morning?”
“Yes,” you told him with a soft laugh. “Usually.”
Seungyoon met your gaze directly and lifted one corner of his lips into a slightly smug smile. “Good to know.”
And then he stepped away to await his order.
Once he got it, he carefully took off the lid to add his cream and sugar. A quick glance to the register showed him there were currently no customers, so he took advantage and made a detour on his way to the exit.
“Thanks,” he murmured, lifting his cup up just as you turned to look at him.
“Oh! You -- you’re welcome.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” Because, yes, he was coming back tomorrow. He was coming back as many times as it took to feel comfortable asking you out on a date.
“Yeah, I guess you will,” you chuckled.
Seungyoon had been able to tell almost right away that you weren’t the bright-eyed and blooming person you would be in a couple of years. But right now... as you looked at him with that shy half-smile... your eyes had a certain warmth to them. He could tell you weren’t just being polite because he was a flirtatious customer.
Maybe it was because he liked your name. Or because he wore a gorgeous, vintage watch which had belonged to your grandfather.
But... also... maybe it was because you did know. Even though you didn’t know, even though you had no way of knowing what was going to happen, maybe you still did. Maybe there was a part of you that just... knew.
It took everything in Seungyoon not to jump and cheer and dance down the sidewalk as soon as he stepped back outside.
You had been right. You probably didn’t even know how right you’d been.
He hadn’t had to wait long to meet you. It felt like a long time -- four years, give or take a couple of days -- but in reality, it was still technically the same day.
Imagine if he hadn’t tried to fix this watch earlier -- or whenever that had been.
Imagine if he hadn’t kept forgetting to take it to a repair shop.
Imagine if his cousin had never gifted it to him for his birthday.
Imagine if Thomas Robert Champion, World War II pilot and your grandfather had never carved his initials in the back of the watch -- or even owned the watch.
It’s so strange to think that something so normal could lead to something so fantastically spectacular and beautiful.
An average guy buying a watch almost 90 years ago eventually led Seungyoon to you.
You, the love of his life. The other side of his coin. The girlfriend and wife of his dreams. The mother of his children.
All because of this watch.

P.S: low-key based on the video game Beyond Two Souls ❤
“Umpteenth (Y/N), you can’t go out on Halloween night.” Seungyoon said once again, already walking out of your small room to leave you alone with your annoying friend. “You know what? You suck and everyone living in this laboratory sucks as well!!” You shouted at him, not ready to give up on your teenage life that easily. “Watch your mouth little lady.” Seungyoon said to put you back in your place. You were tired of that stupid situation. You were tired of being locked in the same four walls ever since you turned into 5 years old just because your parents thought you had some mental disease because of you saying you had a guardian angel by your side. And lastly, but not least, you were tired of the boy sitting on the chair behind you laughing at how desperate and ridiculous you looked. “I would be more gentle and kind if you stopped treating me like a psycho.” You said, getting closer to Seungyoon with challenging eyes. Who did they think they were for treating you like that just because you were different? It wasn’t like you ever asked to have a guardian angel glued to your ass 24/7. Actually, if you could, you would send him back to wherever he came from. Not like you haven’t tried it already, but none of your tries turned out to be a good idea. “Behave like a normal person then.” Seungyoon said before turning his back on you and walking outside of the room.
“Seems like we’ll spend another Halloween together.” Xiaojun said, the devilish smile you hated creeping on his lips once again. “Don’t tempt me, I really want to slap that grin from your handsome face right now.” You said, giving him a disgusted gaze as you walked towards your bed to throw yourself into the mattress and quietly curse every single decision your parents made to bring you to this world. “Come on, I know it is not that bad! Have you forgotten how much fun we had when you were a kid?” Xiaojun said, standing from the chair he was sitting on and walking towards your bed as well so he could sit on its edge and cheer you up like he has always done. Even though he has always been a pain in the ass, you have to admit that he has been the only one to always be there for you no matter what. But well, that’s what he was supposed to do, right? “This is all your fault so don’t even try to look pity.” You said, turning your face to avoid his gaze asking for an apology. “Yeah, sorry for always being there for you whenever you were sick, sad, happy and even when you tried to kill yourself.” Xiaojun said, rolling his eyes, not believing you were that stubborn to blame him for Seungyoon not letting you go out to some random Halloween party. “I just want to be a normal girl and do what normal people do… Am I asking for too much?” You said, tears threatening your eyes. Xiaojun was right, he has always been there for you but sometimes you wished he didn’t exist. That way, you would be living with your parents like any other girl, you would be going to a normal school like any other girl and, maybe, you would even be dating someone nice like any other girl did.
“Come on, I can’t believe you hate me that much after all this time.” Xiaojun said, placing his hand on your back and patting it in a reassuring way. He always knew that never failed to make you feel better. But all you did was remain silent. You hated when he was right and you hated to admit it. “Look at me and tell me you hate me then.” He added, placing his hand on your cheek to make you look at him. But once again you remained silent. You couldn’t lie to your guardian angel after all. “See? I’m always right.” He said with a wide smirk as you pushed his hand away from your face and turned around to keep back facing him.
Hours went by and you were now cooking something for dinner once Xiaojun finally convinced you of the situation not being that bad. You low-key always loved how positive he always was about everything. Suddenly, the simple thought of him made your heart beat in a different yet warm way. A way that has always been there but that you never really paid attention to. “Need some help or do you still hate me?” Xiaojun said, knocking you out of your little bubble. “I’m sorry…” You suddenly said, avoiding his eye contact. “Why?” He said acting like he had no idea even though he perfectly knew what you were talking about. After all, he was your guardian angel, he knew absolutely everything that ran through your mind. “You already know.” You said still avoiding his eyes. “I just want to hear it from you.” He said, taking your chin and making you meet his eyes. You felt like a flame lit on your heart the moment your eyes met his. Was this what it felt like being in love with someone? It couldn’t be, he was your guardian angel, how were you supposed to fall in love with him? “I’m the only one you know, it’s normal you fell in love with me.” He quietly said, answering the unanswered questions that suddenly clouded your mind. “I also fell in love with you after all.” He added, leaving you speechless.
Before you could complain or say anything about his sudden confession, his lips met yours, shushing your complaints into a soft yet full of love and affection kiss. You didn’t know if he could do such things, probably not, but for some reason everything felt so good and right. Like all your worries and insecurities vanished the moment his lips met yours. “Are you sure you want this? I don’t want you to regret anything later.” He said against your lips, once again knocking you out of your little bubble. Just by the way he said that, you knew he wanted that moment to arrive just as much as you did. The only thing you could do was nod in agreement, your legs already feeling like jelly.
“I can’t hold it anymore, come here.” He said pulling you this time into a rough kiss full of hunger. You both kissed roughly as he tried to figure out where to place his hands. You both started to remove your clothes as you walked back to the bed without breaking the kiss. You ran into the edge of the bed and landed there with Xiaojun on top of you. He then started to trail wet kisses all over your body. He stopped some time on your breasts giving them the same attention and making you a moaning mess already. “That’s it honey, call my name.” He said as he kept trailing kisses down your stomach. He looked at you before removing it asking you for permission to do so. You just nodded and right after that, he pulled your panties down, throwing them in some spot of the room. He was about to taste you when you stopped him. “Just skip that part and get on me already Xiaojun.” You begged him, making him harder. Seeing you all needy drove him crazy and he couldn’t help rejecting your suggestion of skipping all the foreplays. With a smirk on his face he slowly pulled down his underwear teasing you. “Just get it off already!” You said annoyed. He chuckled at your begs. “You look so freaking cute when you are all needy and you beg me to get in you. I could get used to it” He said smirking and getting on top of you once again. He placed his hard member on your entrance and as he kissed you so you wouldn’t moan too loud to reveal your little secret he pulled it in. “Shit, (Y/N) you’re so wet and it entered so well. It feels so good.” He groaned as he slowly pulled into you. You both tried to moan as low as you could but you couldn’t hold your volume much when he started moving faster. You perfectly knew everyone knew what you both were doing but you were too occupied looking at Xiaojun right in his eyes to care about others. Xiaojun loved the fact that you kept eye contact with him and when he could press his forehead with yours as he pounded into you he knew he would never regret the worst sin he was committing. His thrusts started to get harder and deeper as you moaned his name and begged him for more. After a few more thrusts he started hitting your sweet spot perfectly making you gasp. Your walls tightened around his member which got even harder to the sudden feeling of your tightness. “God, you’re so tight. If you keep tightening, I won't be able to last much longer.” He said, a loud groan escaping his lips. You both were close and even if it were hard for both of you to keep eye contact you did your best to do so. He pressed his lips against yours knowing how loud you could get when you reached your orgasm and even though he knew the entire floor of the laboratory heard you both already, he still wanted to hide your moans. “Let’s do it together (Y/N).” He whispered as his thrusts started to get sloppier due to how close to his orgasm he was. After a few more thrusts you both came together and he landed next to you on the bed exhausted.
After some minutes of both of you trying to catch your breaths he finally spoke up. “You liked it?” He asked, facing you. “Are you kidding me? It was amazing.” You said caressing his cheek. “You know I just got in big trouble, right?” He said, still not believing he had the courage to break the most important rule. “Screw him up.” You suddenly said, making him look at you with confused eyes. “God, screw God up. I don’t care what his stupid rules say.” You said, explaining yourself to gain an even more confused look from the guardian angel. “You know I will probably get kicked out, right?” He said, slight signs of concern appearing on his gleaming eyes. “I know… Just live in the name of love from now on instead of living in the name of God.” You said. He was not expecting you to say such things but he was slightly relieved that you thought like that. “If we’re lucky, he’ll kick you out and we'll finally be able to leave this laboratory and live the life we always dreamt about.” You added laughing, gaining a soft giggle from the boy as well.
You couldn’t tell if you’ll be able to live a normal life from now on. You don’t even know what the consequences of breaking that specific rule will be, but if you’re sure about something is that it doesn’t matter how hardships you have to go through that as long as your heart and Xiaojun’s beat in the name of love, you will always overvcome them.

Winner reaction to you being a native English speaker
Jinwoo: He liked hearing you speak because it made him feel like he was really learning English. You tended to flip between Korean and English and he thought it was really cute when you slipped up and messed up a little. He was always more than helpful to help correct you when you did mess up though.
Mino: You helped him with his English and as a rapper he was very thankful. He liked to pay back the favor and make sure your Korean was up to date and you knew the current slang. His English wasn’t perfect but he did try to converse with you from time to time in English.
Seunghoon: His English wasn’t perfect, but he tried and even if it was completely wrong it still got a laugh from you as you tried to teach him to pronounce things correctly. Likewise occasionally when you messed up in your Korean it was to hard for him not to laugh. You two often teased each other on how you spoke one another's languages.
Seungyoon:
The young leader tried his very best to learn English just for you considering you were self taught in Korean, but all it earned him was a headache as English was extremely complicated. It did leave him impressed though when he thought about how it must have been for you learning Korean. He always bragged about how perfect you were and how you sounded like a native Korean speaker. Failing to mention the times you messed up in front of him.
Bonus-Taehyun:
The boy loved listening to you speak. He also really liked English music so he tended to ask you for translations on songs he liked or to help him with covers to make sure his pronunciation was right and whatnot. He also liked how you spoke Korean. Your pronunciation wasn’t bad, but it sometimes sounded like he was talking to a little kid. He found you adorable and was very supportive of you and your Korean speaking.
A/N: Not requested but definitely a group worth writing about. What are y’alls opinions on Taehyun’s new songs?
