finally, some pictures of the kiddos ! elena is the one in the cute green outfit--violetta aged up into a tot in her little wolf costume, and westley highkey hates pictures.

westley is alway in awful lighting doing cute things which is awful for me and great for him, so ! only one :(

so far, i have completed every step of first gen for the #shadowmoon challenge besides max parenting skill. hopefully their fourth and final baby, jaspar who has just been born, will get miranda there !

the cowplant pictured is named rick and the fact that he has survived this far is a miracle. his predecessor, morty, um...i cant say the same. he is the first victim to the cowplant graveyard. rip.

also, niko and miranda got married ! miranda is no longer miranda olson and is now miranda labekovisky, along with all of the kiddos.

bjorn is simply pictured because he visits the house all of the time--he was one of miranda's first offsprings for her aspiration :)

Shadowmoon Legacy Part 4: Librarian

Working for the Willow Creek Archives was a simple job. Her job would mostly consist of putting back books that visitors have left out, cleaning up the chess board that people would never reset after their games, and kindly asking celebrities to keep a handle on the entourage of fans and paparazzi that follow them everywhere.

Brytani Cho is a frequent visitor to the library... much to Charlotte's chagrin as the flashing of the camera and squealing of her fans make for a less-than-peaceful study environment.

In the rare bits of free time though, Charlotte is able to use the resources of the library to do her own personal research. She doesn't get too long to search though as there is always something going on. What she does find though is that there are some books that might have better information in them, if only she can find them.

Unfortunately even after looking through most of the library and checking book records Charlotte is unable to find anything close to what she is looking for. Granted it could be easy to miss with how busy the library keeps her during the week but, she's sure that if there were some sort of ancient vampire tome, she would have spotted it by now.

But maybe...

One of the Vatore siblings would know about them? Perhaps it was time to take them up on that offer to hang out one evening.

On Outland: The Shattered Echo of a World

I have been urged by my esteemed colleague to lay bare the worlds upon which our narratives are constructed. Thus, I turn my gaze to the realm that once was Draenor, a world sundered, yet not silenced.

Outland is not merely a remnant, it is a testament to the resilience of life amidst devastation. A realm where the very fabric of reality has been torn asunder, yet threads of existence persist, weaving tales of survival, ambition, and transformation.

I. The Lands That Defy Oblivion

Hellfire Peninsula: The scorched entry point, where the remnants of the Burning Legion's machinations still linger. Here, the scars of war are etched into the very soil, and the air is thick with the echoes of battles past.

Zangarmarsh: A surreal expanse of bioluminescent flora and tranquil waters, offering a stark contrast to the desolation elsewhere. Yet, beneath its serene surface, conflicts over resources and territory simmer.

Terokkar Forest: Once a lush woodland, now a fragmented landscape where the ancient city of Shattrath stands as a beacon of hope and neutrality amidst chaos.

Nagrand: A land that clings to its ancestral roots, where the orcs' heritage endures amidst floating islands and verdant plains, a poignant reminder of what was lost.

Blade's Edge Mountains: Jagged peaks and perilous paths define this region, where ogres and gronn fight for dominance, and the environment itself is an adversary.

Netherstorm: A realm where arcane energies run rampant, and the boundaries between reality and the Twisting Nether blur. Here, the pursuit of knowledge and power has led to both innovation and ruin.

Shadowmoon Valley: A land steeped in darkness, where the Black Temple looms, a monument to Illidan Stormrage's ambitions and the complex interplay of light and shadow.

II. A World of Contradictions

Outland embodies paradox. It is a realm where destruction has given rise to new forms of life, where the remnants of civilizations adapt to survive amidst the ruins. The interplay of various factions, be they remnants of the Burning Legion, the Illidari, or native denizens, creates a dynamic tapestry of alliances and enmities.

Magic here is both a tool and a threat. The arcane energies that permeate the land offer immense power, but at the risk of further destabilizing an already fragile reality. In Outland, every action carries weight, and the consequences of ambition are etched into the very landscape.

III. Of Culture and Conflict

The inhabitants of Outland are as diverse as its terrains. From the stoic draenei seeking to reclaim their shattered heritage, to the orc clans striving to reconnect with their ancestral roots, each group navigates the challenges of a world in flux. The Arakkoa, with their enigmatic traditions, and the Ethereals, ever in pursuit of arcane commodities, add layers of complexity to the sociopolitical landscape.

Conflict is a constant, yet so is cooperation. In places like Shattrath City, disparate factions find common ground, forging uneasy alliances in the face of greater threats. Outland teaches that survival often necessitates compromise, and that unity can emerge from the most unlikely of circumstances.

Outland is not a mere backdrop for heroism, it is a character in its own right, a testament to resilience, adaptation, and the enduring spirit of its denizens. It challenges us to see beyond the scars, to recognize the beauty in perseverance, and to understand that even in the most fragmented of worlds, stories of hope and redemption can flourish.

Quick Bio: Blue Nightwind

Race: Draenei Class: Hunter Specialization: Beast Mastery Pronouns: She/Her

Blue Nightwind is a Rangari Draenei born in Shadowmoon Valley with pale blue skin, periwinkle hair and azure eyes, as well as a jeweled silver crown adorning her forehead. Her horns are coiled like a ram's and she often ties her hair into a messy ponytail. She is a notoriously standoffish, defensive and hyper alert person, feeling uneasy around strangers and used to be considered cruel, even. However, she has an intense soft spot for animals, as well as her husband, Felshredder Nightwind. She's sarcastic and snappy but intensely loyal, having opened up to her friends over the years and put her life on the line several times for them, slowly growing out of her self-preservationist mindset.

AMAZON CHALLENGE

Chapter 7:

Artemis- I found her. Alma Curse, the priestess now attends my Court. However, it came at a small price, his daughter Magdalene joined us too, but at my sister's Court. I hope you are a good warrior. Another very exciting news is that Mister Bones Shadowmoon, my cat will have kittens with Seleana, another addition that came with Curse. Now, my heiress will grow up with my cat's children. Isn't that exciting?

Isis- Magdalene Curse is the most useless person I've ever seen. What hate! If it weren't for Artemis and her stupid surpertitions. On the other hand, Nyx has shown herself to be an excellent guard and excellent archer. It'll be great for defending ourselves while I'm incapacitated… I mean, pregnant. When my heir is born, I will instruct Nyx to reproduce. I want strong warriors like her to protect my princess.

Nyx- Today is my first day as Captain of the Guard. After Kareena's defection, I think I'm doing well. I escorted the Queens to Mount Komorebi to see the priestess. There, I also provided a worker that the Matriarch requested. I will also be responsible for instructing Madalena, Alma's useless daughter. My instincts might make me question whether Ophelia can be trusted, after all, she is the defector's mother. But, I think that answer, only time will tell…

Ophelia- Alma Curse. I recognize that name. But it can't be, can it? If I recognize her, she will definitely recognize me. This can not happen. I need to act. Poison seems like a good option. So I guess this is goodbye. I always wondered why I spent time writing in this journal. Since I don't even know if anyone will read this diary, I cursed it with my own blood. But now I recognize the value of these notes. The legacy I will leave. We will ascend!

"nobody wants cata/wod classic" well meet me.

i think a lot of people actually want mop classic. but it's certainly not "classic" anymore, it's just a past expansion people want to play again because it was good. same with legion.

i particularly am looking forward to cata classic because i am a cata baby. i started playing in march 2012, but my parents only got me the latest expansion in september 2013 (at the time they still sold the second to last expansion separately, AND battle chest), so i could never reach max level during cataclysm and i feel like i missed out on cata and it's still this mystical game to me that i want to explore. that feeling never went away for me with cata because i never actually played it.

as for wod, i was never a group player, i didn't actually play any pve in wod, only some pvp and not much. i mostly did quests and old content, such as collecting mounts. i believe it was in wod when i got both the tbc fire phoenix and invincible (that i'll have to farm for again whem mop comes around...). the expansions also always used to release near my birthday at the time and i remember being so hyped for wod and the levelling experience is still unmatched... i played alliance and the dreamy blue theme of pre outlands shadowmoon valley never left my memory. i remember struggling to tell whether it was night or day on that map. i remember the server queue and being glad when i finally got my spot after coming home from school after having to give up my spot the night before to go to sleep, and there was still a queue the next day. launch week wod memories are some of my best by far.

and casual wise, wod wasn't a bad expansion by any means. i just don't see the point of raids or very highly ranked pvp. i enjoy challenging content sometimes, but those numbers for me don't necessarily mean challenge.

so yeah... meet me, i want (not only cata classic, but) wod classic.

hi. i hope you dont take offense to this but. dont you think youve gone away from the original shadow moon challenge too much to keep calling your story that. like its not even a legacy challenge any more.

I've actually thought along this line of thinking myself, especially as my posts pivoted to full-on dialogue and storytelling rather than the legacy gameplay I did in stuff like NSB - however, I wouldn't feel comfortable outright changing the name of my project from Shadowmoon to something else.

Firstly, even though I've deviated from what the original challenge required, I am still taking huge amounts of inspiration from the original post outlining each generation's traits, aspirations, plotline, etc. I am putting my own spin on it, yes, but I feel it would fall too much into plagiarism for me to pretend it's not related to the original challenge at all anymore.

Secondly, on a bit more selfish note, I really don't want to go back and retag/edit every single post in the story (of which there are well over 500 between the Caleb side story, Gen1, and current Gen2). This also wouldn't undo those tags on any reblogged versions of those posts either. I may ADD story tags to some of the posts starting in Gen2, but the project is still ultimately a legacy.

Also, @/simbonez is actually following me (not a flex! just a statement) -

- so if they are uncomfortable with what I am doing I hope they would/will let me know, as I never would want the original creator of the challenge to feel that way. But unless they express this I likely wouldn't go through with changing the name and tags.

Caleb comes over usually as the sun sets on most days. Which is all fine and dandy except Violet isn’t 100% accustomed to staying up all night. She gets sleepy as they watch tv and Caleb talks about some of the history of Forgotten Hollow. 

major shout out to @ladykendalsims for making the most beautiful makeover of the vatore siblings i have ever seen. so i HAD to have them in my game. THANK YOU!!

I was surprised when Kiyoshi randomly asked Ryder to prom so I thought I’d see how the two felt if I made them a little flirty with each other. So while Kiyoshi basically initiated he’s not crazy about proclamations or big gestures, also when Liesbet came down he immediately stopped being lovey dovey with Ryder. So we’ll see where this takes them and in a week (sims time) both Ryder and Liesbet age up (finally 😅) to young adults.

my vampy family for the #shadowmoon challenge :') ive been playing them fo a hot minute, i just haven't posted, oops.

well, now you see them !

niko labekiovsky, my beloved vampire mortician, and my founder, miranda olson (not yet married...quite honestly forgot.) so far, they have had three out of four children ! westley, elena, and miss violetta (not pictured because these are slightly old pics haha).

i'm having so much fun with this challenge ! it's usually pretty hard for me to keep going with this kind of stuff, but i'm excited every time i open this save :')

also, the kitties, of course--the black cat is jinx and the hairless kitty is her mate, sprig (like a sprig of rosemary, haha).

i'm going to try this whole posting on tumblr thing more often <3

Yuuka and Caleb soon welcomed a second child, they named Talon. Kason has started kleptomaniac habits, and graduated high school early.

Shadowmoon Legacy Part 2: Settling In

Before she could even think of looking into the dark corners of Forgotten Hollow though... something had to be done about the dismal state of her new home. The last thing she wanted was for a spider to crawl over the books she'd be pouring through soon enough. Luckily she wouldn't be cleaning up the place alone.

Making the drive from San Myshuno, her best friend Jeremy was more than happy to come out to lend a hand. A teacher for the local high school, Jeremy was often busy but was more than a little curious to see where his childhood friend was going to be living.

While they couldn't do much about the cracking walls and distressed paneling, a clean sweep makes a big difference.

Oh and a bit of greenery as well to bring a bit more life to the place.

After a day of working on what they could, the best way to break in a new house was in order. Pizza and some less-than-clear TV watching! The place was far from settled, and maybe not quite up to code yet, but having her friend over made it all the better.

So, here we have the introduction of another character for this challenge. Jeremy McCoy, a teacher in San Myshuno and childhood friend of Charlotte. I went back and forth for a while on whether I wanted to make more sims for this or just use the premade townies. In the end, I settled on a bit of a mix.

Here's a better shot of Jeremy, he's Book Smart, Analytical, and Motivating. I wanted Charlotte to have a friend to help out with her research and figured a similarly bookish sim would fit that well.

Oh and don't worry I've got some nocturnal friends already made that Charlotte will meet soon enough.
