It’s Shani Jayanti and I have come to the Party to pay my Respect. For the first time in my Life I have had a perspective change regarding Saturn. I have finally made some Peace with Shani!

And believe me, this was no easy breakthrough. I have a natal birth chart that reads towards an artistic free-spirited rebellious nature. Among these placements is my Saturn in Aries/Ashwini - Saturn is debilitated here. The Young Fire-y Mars just pisses old man Saturn off. But I also have Saturn squaring my ascendant so he finds plenty of ways to kick me in the ass.

Anywho - me & Saturn haven’t ever really been down with one another. #adulting.

Recently however I was contemplating the Vedic theory of Naisargika Dashas, where different planets rule different stages of Life. When you get to Saturn he basically rules everything past 70 years of age. How ever long your old age will be, you will remain in a Saturn type dasha. This really made me think about Saturns role as the harsh teacher through out our Life’s Ashtama Shanis and Sade Satis. I realized he was just preparing us while we’re younger to understand the hardships we might experience in Life, and especially later in Life, when things will not be as easy for us. We are to learn now to prepare for the long winter ahead.
