Apologies for the hyperactivity tonight but I do be experiencing a multitude of emotions these days

Anyways aaaaaa i finally got to see my favourite kunqu (bruh autocorrect tf) opera actor tonight. This do be one of those moments where I loath the potato resolution of my phone camera

Like it blew my mind especially when I hear him sing, like wow that sing-song melody really is his voice....This is a real person who has perfected and memorized all these tones and gestures and movements and performed them to such meticulousness....(小明真的就是演的很稳很稳啊）

I didn't take pictures during the performance since the theatre is very strict about it (and also ENJOY the performance).

The process to get autographs afterwards though was a lot, but he was so close.....omg.....that's him......

I was also reeeeally surprised by how fast they change out of their costumes and makeup, like it was less than 20 minutes between the curtain drop to them exiting the backdoor.

Maybe it would be appropriate to share here but i did drew him a gift haha, it wasn't a lot of chance to interact (because of the amount of people) but he said it was cute. ASDFAESYAHSDF YEEEEEAAAAY

I've seen this play before online prior to this performance, but it was really refreshing to view it with a whole audience and it makes you realize the context/boldness of the emotion in this play.

A Strengthening Renminbi Casts Further Bullish Spells on Bitcoin

A robust exchange rate policy by the Chinese leaders has prompted the renminbi to log its best quarter in 12 years. And it may help Bitcoin surge as well.

The onshore renminbi added approx 4 percent in the three months ending September 30, its best since 2008. Meanwhile, its offshore counterpart gained more than 4 percent, signaling further weakening of the US dollar against the euro and other major currencies.

China’s preference for a weaker renminbi has inversed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The second-largest economy is now looking to develop the domestic consumption market. Analysts, including Essence Securities Chief Economist Gao Shanwen, said that yuan, a unit of the renminbi, would appreciate further.

“In the future, the yuan will enter a longer process of appreciation,” he said. “Maybe it will start soon.”

Renminbi Predicts the US Dollar Crash

Timothy Moe of Goldman Sachs also sees the renminbi strengthening to 6.5 per dollar in the next 12 months. The chief Asia-Pacific equity strategist credited the US dollar’s “structural period of weakening” for boosting yuan’s demand in global markets, calling it a “loss of US exceptionalism.”

Mansoor Mohiuddin, the chief economist at the Bank of Singapore, said in his latest op-ed that China’s growing trade imbalance with the US made the renminbi a de-factor indicator to gauge the dollar’s strength. In retrospect, if China’s currency rise, then it signals that the US economy is attracting fewer capital inflows.

The signs are already on the horizon. In the last 18 months, the Chinese government has increased its efforts to allow more foreign institutions to pour money into its domestic market. The coronavirus pandemic has further accelerated those inflows, given the rising yields on 10-year Chinese government bonds.

In contrast, the US 10-year Treasury is returning lower yields due to the Federal Reserve’s near-zero interest rate policy.

“It does look as if Chinese government bond yields will stay higher than developed markets’ bonds,” said Mr. Mohiuddin, citing the lower size of monetary stimulus provided by the Chinese government against the coronavirus pandemic.

That expects to create further downside pressure on the US dollar.

BTC to Benefit?

Analysts at Morgan Stanley predict that the renminbi’s share in the global reserve currency circuit could increase from 2 percent to 10 percent in the next decade. Meanwhile, with the US fiscal deficit rising, people anticipate a stronger bearish bias in the US dollar market.

Sitting as a bystander of the so-called currency war is Bitcoin, a decentralized cryptocurrency that also serves as a hedge against falling traditional markets. Its exchange rate against the US dollar surged by 200 percent amid the pandemic, much higher than the renminbi.

Bitcoin is likely to benefit from a stronger renminbi, given the Chinese currency keeps building downside pressure on the US dollar. Investors with huge exposure in the greenback may choose the scarce cryptocurrency to park their funds.

Evaluating impacts of different longitudinal driver assistance systems on reducing multi-vehicle rear-end crashes during small-scale inclement weather

Publication date: October 2017 Source:Accident Analysis & Prevention, Volume 107 Author(s): Ye Li, Lu Xing, Wei Wang, Hao Wang, Changyin Dong, Shanwen Liu Multi-vehicle rear-end (MVRE) crashes during small-scale inclement (SSI) weather cause high fatality rates on freeways, which cannot be solved by traditional speed limit strategies. This study aimed to reduce MVRE crash risks during SSI weather using different longitudinal driver assistance systems (LDAS). The impact factors on MVRE crashes during SSI weather were firstly analyzed. Then, four LDAS, including Forward collision warning (FCW), Autonomous emergency braking (AEB), Adaptive cruise control (ACC) and Cooperative ACC (CACC), were modeled based on a unified platform, the Intelligent Driver Model (IDM). Simulation experiments were designed and a large number of simulations were then conducted to evaluate safety effects of different LDAS. Results indicate that the FCW and ACC system have poor performance on reducing MVRE crashes during SSI weather. The slight improvement of sight distance of FCW and the limitation of perception-reaction time of ACC lead the failure of avoiding MVRE crashes in most scenarios. The AEB system has the better effect due to automatic perception and reaction, as well as performing the full brake when encountering SSI weather. The CACC system has the best performance because wireless communication provides a larger sight distance and a shorter time delay at the sub-second level. Sensitivity analyses also indicated that the larger number of vehicles and speed changes after encountering SSI weather have negative impacts on safety performances.
