When I started shipping it if I did:

Directly from tumblr! I think the first time would have been in a piece by iilovebeam though I think I saw other people's art of them too. I was just like OOH! Like I'd not really thought about it but the moment I did, I saw an interesting dynamic there.

My thoughts:

I mean I adore them. I make no secret of the fact I can sometimes end up a little bored once couples are together and there's no friction and so on. With Shaunvi there's a lot to play with. I think it was the first kind of secondary ship I decided to add to my fanfic, though I believe it wasn't the first to appear as I wrote everything so out of order.

What makes me happy about them:

They start from this place of a lot of tension established in canon, and I just love the idea of Viola having this attraction to Shaundi right off the bat but her being like... untouchable? Unavailable? Like she almost starts off a goal; a grown-up version of the more unusual girl trying to win the popular girl over as a friend, but it becomes more than that as she falls hard for her. From Shaundi's perspective there is this huge barrier though, she can't even allow herself to think about it because Viola is involved in Johnny's death. That barrier breaks in my hc when Shaundi finds out Johnny is actually alive, because that really was her sticking point above all else. From then on they start a rather intense relationship. I was going to say short but it's about a year long so short is pretty subjective. They're a bit on again off again after that; they fizzle out romantically but they remain friends and they also maintain this spark sexually.

What makes me sad about them:

Because my universe is canon obviously it's never going to work out because Viola dies 🥲 I obviously had that in mind when I decided not to have their relationship cover the whole 2016-2020 period because I think Shaundi would very much struggle to recover from that in a way my other characters who lose people have strong defences against. It also just didn't fit what I wanted for them, I wanted them intense and passionate and I think that either settles into something else or it ends.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

I mean I haven't actually read any fanfic that features them I don't think, I included them briefly in mine but didn't tag them as a pairing bc that would annoy me if they were tagged but not a main pairing and only in it for five seconds. Actually I wish I'd woven them into my own story in a more interesting way, but I was so far in when I came across the pairing. It kind of works though because we see Shaundi's disdain adapt quite suddenly after finding out about Johnny. I guess I wouldn't like to see anything too cheesy or boring for them? Nothing that's like love at first sight, instantly getting along when Viola joins because while canon devation is fine it would also remove a lot of what I like about them. I would accept a well written happy ever after for them! But they need some tension in the lead up. Obviously hc them however you want, this is just about what I'd personally enjoy reading! 😊

Things I look for in fanfic:

Honestly any interesting portrayal of the relationship would draw me in. I'm not super picky. I've not read fic of them but every angle I've seen for them on tumblr I've absolutely loved. Pining, angst, awkwardness, well written smut; a lot of standard things I like would work.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: 

So for main universe, Shasha (Shaundi x Asha) is something many of you know I have an interest in. I think they would have an interesting dynamic but plotting out an actual storyline for them is quite different. These things come with time for me though they just pop into my head at random times. If I don't find a route for them romantically I'd love to see them living together in a QPR type situation! I'm also a little... just a little curious about Shaundi x Kinzie. That would be more AU though, as would Shaundi x Casey. There are quite a few I can see for Shaundi.

As for Viola, main universe she's dead so I'm going to just go cracky and say Violin? Yeah I feel like some people are going to think "oh, well, you're the self-appointed ship name guy so you would", and... they have a point. 😆 It's really quite hypothetical as I don't really make anything with the afterlife, but if I did, there would have to be a heaven x hell ship. I think they'd kind of click. AU where she lives though? I'd say most likely an OC tbh. If Casey's the Boss it doesn't really fit for more than a fling type thing, but the idea of Viola x Boss really appeals to me for a more fitting Boss, because they gave her a pretty big chance in SR3 and I'd like to know what would come from that. Imagine the early days and them just being the one who's on her side, y'know? 🥲

My happily ever after for them:

So I guess in terms of what fits my mostly canon+ universe, I did have a possibility of Viola being in the pods after all due to a mix-up, very much a "here's how Shaunviola can still win" thing tbh. They could potentially be together on Ragnarok. But I guess I don't really see that theory as an actual part of my canon nowadays, and again, idk if I have a story for them there yet. If I do I'll likely share it 😊

Who is the big spoon/little spoon:

I guess I see Shaundi as the big spoon most of the time. She's the more physical of the two but it's more than that. I just think Viola has this insecurity about whether Shaundi really cares for her and always will. When Shaundi holds her it just reinforces that this is all willing and that she loves her.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity:

So in my hc they both like to dance, that's a pretty straightforward one. I can see them going out while in the "off" phase of on/off and winding up slow dancing 🥲 I think they prefer nights out over nights in but maybe they would enjoy cooking together with a bottle of wine or two. I also have an image of them cycling out of town and looking down at everything from high places. I feel like it's easier for these two to find what they really cherish about each other when there's no distractions, just peace and quiet.

i think i’ve mentioned it before but honestly i do kinda love the idea that pierce and anteros have unknowingly interacted w each other before when pierce was a vice king and anteros was working at TnA. i don’t think anteros would remember cuz he rarely remembers customers, but i think at some point during sr2 pierce put it together. like anteros knows he used to be in the VK but like. i don’t think he really made the connection. so all that to say. pierce watched anteros perform when he worked at TnA.

i go back and forth on it cuz i think it’s fun to think about, so sorry if this is less of a headcanon and more just. me rambling and thinking out loud. but i do wonder how her feelings change over time when it comes to like, more permanent romances. marriages. things like that. cuz on one hand i think after a certain point she is sick of the unreliability of all the hookups she used to do and i feel as if her tendency to be in so many relationships did come from a place of wanting to feel desired. and she’s grown to become more confident in herself, more dependable for her own sake, and to not define herself on how desirable she is to other people. on the other hand, i do also get the impression she genuinely values having a true romantic connection w someone; love in all its forms is deeply important to her. i think her feelings on it all changes depending on the day, and tbh she’s allowed to have that. i just think it’s interesting to think about/discuss.

aisha and johnny were definitely an on/off couple in high school. they’re cute. they’ve known each other forever, w stilwater being so small and there not being a bunch of schools, a lot of characters have at least Known Of each other for a long time.

aisha and johnny in particular have been close for a long time, and i feel like they have plenty of stories about (probably dumb and/or dangerous) things they did (or things aisha watched johnny do) when they were young.

there’s something very fun to me about characterizing post-srtt viola as a bit of a Weird Girl. like there’s a reason kinzie gravitated towards her so much. she knew.

like viola is extremely capable on her own, but compared to kiki i feel like she’s a lot more introverted. comparatively much more quiet and brooding. and i think this just kinda gets exasperated as she’s with the saints following the events of srtt. she’s not trusted within the group, with many members still actively suspicious of her. so she’s once again just. isolated. she’s lost the person who helped cement her place in life. she knew who she was when she had her sister. how does she deal with this newfound loneliness? sure, she has kinzie to bounce off of, but again it’s kinzie. someone who is actively odd. someone who doesn’t necessarily play into or complement her traits. not to say she doesn’t like her, but it’s not the companionship she’s looking for. in some ways i think it’s why viola’s so enchanted by shaundi. she admires her strength and tenacity. she gives off the impression that she knows where she belongs, even though internally i believe shaundi still very much struggles with that. i think they’re both processing very similar feelings, despite the other not realizing it. shaundi and viola just play off each other so well. even if it takes them a very long time to reach that point.

also again i just like the mental image of her just kinda lurking post-srtt. staring at shaundi. shaundi glares at her bc she thinks viola’s judging her but really she’s just dealing with her developing crush.

kind of a headcanon/lore dump?? idk whatever you wanna call it. whatever it is. dewynter sisters stuff no one asked for but they’ve been on my mind and i don’t think i’ve really shared much of my hcs for them.

so if you keep up with my rewrites/my canon, you know that kiki and viola are mercenaries sent by ultor to kill loren (and later dex). here’s some more basic lore. this is all barely scratching the surface of all the lore and thoughts i have on them, so by all means feel free to ask me stuff. and honestly i’ll probably end up making more posts like this in the future (for them and others) if people are interested.

father: hendrik dewynter

mother: akane dewynter (née ueno)

their father is dutch and french while their mother is japanese and filipino.

as far as their general background goes, they were born in the netherlands, traveled with their parents for their work a lot, and were raised in both europe and the united states. both twins are fluent in dutch, french, and japanese.

both parents have been working in the criminal underworld for decades and have essentially been training the girls to become the mercenaries they are since they were young. hendrik and akane work primarily in illegal arms deals, and they use their cover as high society people to facilitate that. all this led to some familiarity with some syndicate members pre-loren’s leadership, but more so through their high society connections. worth noting i don’t believe the syndicate leaned as heavily into arms dealing until after loren became head of it because that was his area of expertise as well. regardless, hendrik and akane and their network got into illegal arms trade and espionage predominantly within western europe. when they had the twins, they were trained from a young age to become the perfect spies, assassins, whatever. this unintentionally made it so the girls really only trusted each other. they are not a close family. the dewynter’s see their relationship with their daughters as more of a business arrangement. almost transactional. they’d argue that what they put them through was for them to succeed, but in turn it just dissolved any chance of a meaningful relationship between them. despite this, or perhaps because of this, they became extremely adept mercenaries. keep in mind though that all this shit about the dewynter family was not widely known. hendrik and akane still had their regular careers as covers, and it’s why the twins have their backgrounds in economics and art.

regardless, loren was delighted to have them working within the syndicate—however he did not know that them asking to work for him directly was because they were being employed by ultor to sell secrets and eventually kill him. it also helped that they could speak dutch and french to him; there were many instances of the three of them having conversations that matt and killbane could not understand (which bothered the latter to no end).

the twins themselves only have a sense of loyalty to each other, and they do their work based on who’s paying best and what they believe they should do with their information they’re given. it’s why viola switches sides so easily after the death of kiki. money may have been their endgame, but the one thing they put above that is each other.

fwiw, viola does go back to doing mercenary work after the events of my sriv rewrite conclude. she’s one of several characters who leave the saints at the end. she allows them to keep in contact with her though. this whole thing kicks off a bit of a cat and mouse game she and shaundi have, but that’s for another post (oh wait i already made one kinda. happy shaunviola saturday).

this is getting away from me. also i wrote this all while really tired so apologies if it’s a little scattered. i love kiki and viola.

this is barely saints row but where else am i gonna post this. half an excuse to try new brushes and half i’ve just had these sketches forever and decided to color them. this blog is like vaguely a sims blog w my sims row stuff in sims 4 right. anyway i play sims 2 with a focus on making original characters/stories, but awhile ago i thought it’d be fun to make a few sr inspired ones. so here are my sr-based sims 2 sims. 

on the left we have axel and zara, who are meant to be kikidane and shaunviola kids respectively. they’re enrolled at sim state university in pleasantview. axel is studying business and zara is studying art. they live in a super nice house thanks to dane’s money. no kid of his is living in some dorm. he’s very smart and sneaky, and he has no issues lying to get what he wants. he lives with his cousin, zara. zara is more of a loner and keeps to herself, most content with staying in her room and painting. somehow she always gets roped into whatever axel’s planning, bc whether she wants to admit it or not she’s just as good at scheming as he is. though they run in completely different circles, the two have an odd respect for each other. maybe in spite of the family drama you know is there. 

and on the right side. you know them, you love/tolerate them. it’s troy and anteros. except instead of fucking off to reno they fucked off to like. grayton beach florida. troy works as a security guard while anteros has his own paranormal hotline. it’s about time he started to make some money off all those ghosts he sees. and it’s a job where he gets to talk a lot? like…

only reason i ended up making troyteros is cuz sims 2 has the Perfect troy facial hair so i just went for it. and who knows maybe one day i’ll find a place for axel and zara in a more sr-focused setting. if nothing else at least i have names if my sims 4 sr sims get busy
