Since I see you reblogging Ponyo: What is Hakuno's favorite Studio Ghibli movie? If she has yet to see one, still, what do you think would be her favorite movie?

SOAAAR MY LAWD I'M A SNAIL DON'T MIND THAT!!!! and now, a confession--- i,,, actually have not watched a lot of ghibli movies 😳👉👈 which i should rlly change!!! bc the ones that i did watch i enjoyed a lot!!!! but as for your question--

hakuno's a massive history buff (which, on a side note, is one heck of an advantage when you find yourself in a war involving historical figures!) so i hc the human she was based on to have a great interest in history and mythology, more of a reader than a watcher, and someone whose interests lean more into non-fiction than fiction. hakuno, no matter human or npc, is a very open-minded and curious person though so that's not saying ghibli's completely out of the interest! rather, i think ghibli movies in general would be something completely up her alley. they just have this.... comforting sort of vibes to them ya kno? which is something hakuno who is in a constant state of stress would really appreciate!

i was gonna dedicate a para to howl's moving castle bc in this house we love the movie that has miss sophie hatter in it!!!! but wowie i must say-- the answer to your question rlly is the your muse's movie!!! the strong anti-war messages and the importance of compassion is something real prominent in the movie and that'd really reaally resonate with her — those are themes real pivotal to her own character too! just add in something about tenacity and perserverance and you'd have the complete kishinami package! ☆ anywho, i can honestly imagine howl's moving castle not just being her favorite ghibli movie, but also her favorite movie in general! it'd be a comfort movie she rewatches every now and then and she'd definitely pick up the book after watching it too, or the other way around-- she liked the book so much that she watched the movie. human hakuno was a pianist, so i must also say that she would've definitely learned how to play merry go round of life on it, any some other songs from the movie too!

i'm scatterbrained rn so don't mind me rambling but you know that one iconic scene of howl and sophie walking on air? mayhaps she would lowkey want to experience something similar to that too.... but i think if that time ever comes, she'd be the howl of that situation. f for moon girl. that breakfast scene looked so good, it really made her want to eat eggs and bacon-- and considering how unhealthy her diet is (it consists of yakisoba bread and roll cake and candy, pretty much!!), it's a good thing! and this isn't her liking your sophie when i say that sophie would rlly be her favorite character!! they are pretty similar too, so i def think hakuno would be rooting for sophie in pretty much every scene and would really love seeing her character development!! she'd also really want miss hatter to know that she's absolutely beautiful inside and out pls 🙏🙏 second fav would be that dog bc.... fluffy-wuffy. what can i say? she is a simple moon girl. and i must also say: she would think sophie is a #girlboss (and even in her granny form she was a #grannyboss)

i am also obligated to mention the cat returns because... hakuno is a simple Cat person okok. (hakuno vc sho kyoot)

ALSO I REWATCHED PONYO BC OF THIS ASK SOAR AHJFJSJFJSJDJ i enjoyed it vvv much 😌 but the scene with ponyo's mother and sosuke always kills me!!!! "to become human she must be loved for who she. can you accept her as she is?" and it kills me bc being the one to understand and accept others has always been what hakuno does — which rlly gets hammered in me bc sosuke's response "i'll always love ponyo. whether she's a fish, or a human, or in-between" is a very hakuno line!!!! (though she can be quite chatty, so i can imagine her saying a lot more than that too---). i like the idea of this A Lot bc receiving affection and kindness is something hakuno's entirely unused too and while being on the giving end of such things is a very human thing to do, i think we shouldn't exclude how being on the receiving end of it is also very important!!!! (i have a lot of thoughts abt this but i think i should write it down when i'm more coherent GEJFJSJD)

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

Ryan: She doesn't often feel strong emotions, but rather experiences them like raindrops falling and then rolling off her skin. She supposes she wishes she could recognise emotional distress in others a bit more quickly, and respond to it a little better.

Nancy: Frustration. She gets frustrated so quickly that she doesn't have time to think about how she's going to deal with it.

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

Ryan: Nothing. Maybe, maybe, she'd cry if something horrible happened (like Nancy or Silas or one of her wards dying), but she suspects that she wouldn't, even then. She's never told anyone this, though.

Nancy: Guilt makes Nancy cry. She can usually cope with sad situations without crying, but if she suspects she had even a small hand in it, she'll fall apart. Unless the situation involves babies or animals. Then she's a ticking time bomb.

🍰 CAKE SLICE - favourite cake flavour? are they specific about types of cakes?

Ryan: She's never tried many cake flavours, but if she had to, she'd play it safe and go with vanilla sponge.

Nancy: Lemon cheesecake. She'll enjoy pretty much any kind of cake, though.

🍧 SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?

Ryan: Her childhood was a very, very long time ago, and she unfortunately doesn't have anything left of it.

Nancy: She's had some of her vials and test tubes since she first began studying witchcraft as a teenager, and some of her books and powders date back to then, too. She honestly wouldn't mind too much if they were broken or used up or went missing. Their only significance is that they make her wistful for more innocent times.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouquet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

Ryan: White roses and white lilies, symbolising her tastes and her preference for things to be clean and pure. A scattering of something small and red, like verbena (I had to use Google to get ideas for this), for the passion and determination that her exterior surrounds.

Nancy: Purple roses (purple is her favourite colours), and baby's breath (which represents eternal love; referring to her long life spent in love with Ryan, but also the elongated state of her life in general).

🍁 MAPLE LEAF - what is their favourite season? why?

Ryan: She doesn't feel too strongly about any of the seasons, but if she had to pick, it'd be winter. She likes to watch the snow come down and cover everything in white. She finds peace in the thought that everything goes to sleep in winter, waiting to be revived.

Nancy: She loves summer. She gets to wear the light, floaty clothing that she likes, she gets to walk places barefoot, she gets to bask in sunlight until all hours of the evening.

🌹 ROSE - do they like valentines day? have they been confessed to before? have they confessed to anyone before?

Both: They both like Valentine's Day. Ryan took a while to come around to it, and used to complain that Nancy was brainwashed by commercialism to think Valentine's Day was romantic, but eventually she realised that it was simply a moment in time when she could demonstrate that they love each other.

Ryan actually confessed to Nancy. Before that, neither had ever confessed to anyone else.

🎡 FERRIS WHEEL - are they someone who wants to kiss at the top of the ferris wheel?

Both: Yes. They have *hmm* done more than just kiss on a Ferris wheel.

💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon

Ryan: She catches herself forgetting the names, genders, and appearances of the people who were in the first quarter(ish) of her lifetime. If she's in the middle of telling an anecdote when it happens, she quickly makes up a name to slot in. Nobody in her current life would ever know the difference.

Nancy: She loves Elliott and Felix as though they were her actual sons, but she secretly resents the fact that she never had any biological children of her own.

🌟 GLOWING STAR - what do they think about when they look at the night sky? is there someone they want to star gaze with?

Ryan: She'll literally think about the stars and the planets up there. Eventually she'd get to thinking how spinning molecules and similar to the spinning planets of the universe. It would be a very cyclical and pointless train of thought, which would feel deliciously self-indulgent.

Nancy: Nancy is the kind of person who looks at something pretty and accepts it at its face value. She wouldn't think about anything, except maybe she'd start humming a star-related song to herself.

💖 SPARKLING HEART - are they a subtle or a showy lover?

Ryan: Usually subtle, but she often surprises her lovers by portraying masculine displays of affection, like looping an arm dramatically around their shoulder. (Nancy loves this; Lucy would have to say that she "fucking hates it".)

Nancy: She's very showy. If she's not clinging to her lover's hand or kissing them, she's probably fussing over them and coming up with ways to entertain them. (Ryan is content to let her do any of these things; Lucy is neutral about it.)
