aight i got the list here. be warned i Dont know a lot of detectives so you might disagree with a few.
@mythawolf @a-cloud-for-dreams
14. Precious Ramotswe [The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency]: Ranked the lowest on the list, I'd say Mma Ramotswe is not a bitch at all! She's funky and she's got unique methods, but at the end of the day she's a nice person. The only reason she's on here is because she's a detective I know.
13. Nancy Drew [Books by Carolyn Keene]: I uh. Don't remember much on her since it's been a while since I read the books. But here also I can say with certainty that she's nice and only on here because she a detective I know. Not a bitch.
12. Jinhan Chun [Dr. Frost]: See 11 and 12. He's also very nice from what I remember, voted not a bitch.
11. Yoon Sangah [Dr. Frost]: Not really a detective per se. Not a bitch either, very nice and helpful. Listed a bit higher than Jinhan because of her (extremely justified and understandable!!) reaction to Frost's reappearance, which leads me to have some faith in her.
10. Dr. Frost [Dr. Frost]: Not a detective either, but just as good as one. Not really a bitch. I can excuse not bothering with sociability completely, but he broke into someone's house and that's gotta count for something.
9. Hercule Poirot [Books by Agatha Christie]: Polite. Decidedly not a bitch. I believe in him though.
8. Damian Puig [Señorita Cometa]: His behaviour in episode 72 has earned him the title of potential bitch. He dabbles in bitchiness sometimes if he feels like it.
7. Isla Baht [Anything For You]: Isla has what I like to call bitch potential (not to be confused with potential bitch), wherein I think she could and should be ruder and weirder. With the way things are going I doubt I'll be disappointed. Isla, love, I hope to see you higher up the list soon.
6. Jagga [Jagga Jasoos]: EVERYONE SHUT UP IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE. He's probably a bitch. Gets points for annoying Shruti earlier in the movie.
5. Victor Getz [The Thief Lord]: Bitch potential. I think he could pull it off nicely.
4. Chase Carter [I'm The Grim Reaper]: Do I have to say anything? He knows he's a bitch. Gets more 'domesticated' towards Scarlet as the series goes on but I know the assholery is still there. Or, well. Was.
3. Chase Devineaux [Carmen Sandiego 2019]: Wouldn't be a true tiredguyswag post without a mention of this show. Transgender bitch icon. Ranked high due to earlier seasons, although he eventually gets his feminism arc.
2. Heera Akkineni [Original Character - Carmen Sandiego 2019]: Okay come on she HAS to be here. Massive cunt, law enforcement hates her, I and only I love her. Has the unique ability to get on anyone's nerves. I am rotating her in my mind 24/7. There are no lengths she wouldn't go to to achieve her goal.
1.,Sherlock Holmes [Books by Arthur Conan Doyle]: Do I have to say anything.
All of this is affectionate btw I love them all dearly
did i show you guys my list of detectives ranked by bitchiness
#there's probably more#but I forget#also miss marple isn't on this list cause I haven't read the books) watched the series yet

i know you're a bond writer, but have you ever thought about expanding into the rest of the ben whishaw cinematic universe? namely the this is going to hurt fandom. there are less than 30 fics on ao3 and half of them are russian or chinese, and half of what's left is either some weird shruti/adam stuff (no that's not a typo) or a random crossover. never known a fandom as overlooked and unloved in my life! if this was 2012 there'd be 8467847684 fics. like, a canon gay main character with multiple possible love interests??? we'd be drowning in coffee shop au's and kink meme entries and all sorts. instead we have nothing, it's really bizarre.
(yes this is a shameless attempt to poach you, no i won't be mad if you tell me to take a hike sjfhfhs)
hsjksjsj attempting to poach me for another fandom might be one of the biggest compliments I've ever had. I'm not gonna tell you to take a hike.
(Would that someone would ask me to write for Paddington.)
ANYWAY. The short answer is no, I haven't really thought about expanding further into the BWCU (Ben Whishaw Cinematic Universe). Mostly that's because his films and TV shows are so good on their own that my brain doesn't feel the need to explore alternatives to the narrative. Though this ask has reminded me to rewatch The Hour, because if there's another bit of Ben media I could see myself writing for, it's that.
In regards to TIGTH specifically, I don't think it helps that I read the book first, so it's always lived in that memoir/nonfiction section of my head where I don't really tread fic wise.
I will say, however, that there is one kiss in it that I think about every time I write a Q kissing scene. It's the second one in this gifset, and it's possibly one of my favourite screen kisses of all time for how hot and natural it is. We've spoken on this blog before about Ben Whishaw being The Kisser Of All Time (cited by Hugh Grant and Mark Gatiss). In TIGTH it is incredibly obvious how true that is.
So idk if it's comforting in any way, but even when i"m writing Bond fic, there's a tiny morsel of TIGTH at the back of my mind 😉
#ask box#i have thoughts on why media (esp british/us media) starring canonically gay characters is less popular fandom-wise than queerbaity media#or media that features “straight” characters#in quotes because of kirk and spock and sherlock and watson okay? no screenwriter on earth can tell me those relationships are het#but i don't feel like getting into trouble today#so sorry tigth fandom you deserve so much better than 30 fics#deleting any mention shruti/adam from my brain now thankyou bye

Fic writer interview
Thank you to Tama @ourlilinfinity and Leah @jake-amy for tagging me, even if it means having to be positive about my own writing 😂
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Apparently 12? Which is madness!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
As I type, 51,494 words, but with another… 60k or so on a google doc ready to post on Invisible String
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Only Bridgerton, but somewhere in the deep depths of tumblr I used to write Sherlock roleplay
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Drunk On Something Stronger Than The Drinks In The Bar (I can’t believe that actually, considering it was anonymous for so long ahaha)
Phone Lights Up My Nightstand In The Black
Neon Orange
Champagne Problem
Blue And Yellow Box Of Heaven
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Always. Every single one. I don’t have any other way of showing how much every comment and read and kudos means to me, so I’ll always reply to a comment (even if sometimes it takes me 3 months)
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I… don’t think I do angst. Although I’ve been told otherwise recently ahahaha! Probably This Love Is Glowing In The Dark? Or maybe some of the Building A Home fics pre-Champagne Problem
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
No. Absolutely not, I can’t even write canon era, let alone trying to cross two different things together aha
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not hate. But asking when I’m writing more on a certain thing isn’t… nice
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not personally. But Invisible String should have some in it when Tama writes it and maybe there’s a two part fic in the works where I’m writing the clean part and Shruti @pensbridgrton writes something less clean?
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t believe so
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, Invisible String with Tama @ourlilinfinity is my pride and joy. And then I won’t ever do her the indignity of saying that I co-wrote Cardigan, but it’s like my stepchild. And I’ve been a British consultant on various fics lol
13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Unsure if I can say all-time, but Polin are my current favourite
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I usually post as I write and only this week have I actually developed a list of WIPs and I’m not entirely sure who I am now lol. At this point in time, it’s Cruel Summer I suppose, mostly because all it has is a name and a general vibe lol
15. What are your writing strengths?
Describing things, I think. We refer to the stuff I do on Invisible String as ‘Rhiafying’, which basically means me adding filler ahahaha
Also, creating a warmth. That’s the majority of comments I get, that it feels like getting a hug, and I can’t possibly put into words how that feels
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue, I get so in my head about how my characters speak.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I mean, if it makes sense, sure. But I don’t speak anything else fluently, and wouldn’t want to get it wrong. As a reader, it’s always handy to have a translation in the notes though!
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Properly, Bridgerton. I didn’t consider myself a writer until a few weeks ago, so definitely nothing before then
19. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
Invisible String. I’ve fallen in love with writing, and it’s entirely due to Tama and writing this together. If I’m not careful, she’ll make me fall for her too 😅 there is so much love in this fic, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
I think anyone I would tag has either been tagged or I’ve seen post this already, but on the off chance she’s not done it, I’m tagging @pensbridgrton

I always have a feeling that I only gush about the same books all the time and I’m not very good at giving recommendations to other readers – but I’m actively trying to change that mindset. I even wrote a rec post for Jane Austen fans last year, and another one featuring books with book loving characters and I think they were well received, so I hope I’ll be able to do something similar in the coming months as well. But before that, I wanted to try out this wonderful recommendations book tag created by Ellyn @ Allonsythornraxx. Do make sure to checkout their blog for more such amazing bookish content and now let me get started…
Rules:
Thank the person who nominated you
Answer all the questions down below

Nominate 5+ bloggers to do this tag
*Feel free to not take the term ‘book’ too literally, please recommend graphic novels, comics and other works too!
1. Recommend a book from one of your favourite genres
YA Fantasy is one of my favorite genres ever and I could go on and on with my recommendations for it, but one book I really loved but don’t talk enough about is The Merciful Crow. This book has great characters, important themes, a very wierdly gross but interesting magic system and a beautiful love story. Can’t wait to read the sequel.
2. Recommend a short book
The Test is very short, just around 100 pages I think but the dystopian world it depicted and the way it completely blew my mind was brilliant. A total mindf*ck of a book that’ll make you question yourself.
3. Recommend a book-to-screen adaptation
I will always recommend the Lord of the Rings trilogy if I’m asked for adaptations. I think the movies are beautiful and brilliant and I could watch them again and again.
4. Recommend a book out of your comfort zone
This is How You Lose the Time War is a sci-fi novel which itself is not my usual genre. But it also has time travel and the writing is very lyrical and metaphorical which I usually hate. So, this is a perfect example of a book out of my comfort zone but it’s so so beautiful and made me very emotional while reading.
5. Recommend a book series
Just a few weeks ago, my answer to this question might have been something very different. But I discovered the Murderbot Diaries recently and I can’t tell you how much in love with it I am. This series is an absolute delight to read and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
6. Recommend a standalone
Steel Crow Saga is a very well written fantasy novel which has an expansive world, a great group of characters and some very important commentary on colonization and war. I thoroughly enjoyed it and just didn’t wanna accept that it’s a standalone. I really hope the author decides to write more books in this world.
7. Recommend a book you don’t talk about enough
You Bring the Distant Near is family saga at it’s finest. It’s so beautiful and emotional and just made me feel every single word. I know it’s been nominated for some awards but I still don’t think it’s talked about enough, and I’m equally guilty of that. Please read this book my friends….!!!!
8. Recommend your ‘staple’ book
If there’s one “book” you can associate with me, it’s the Mahabharata. So, in relation to that, my staple books have to be the Celestrial trilogy by Sangu Mandanna. These books are fun and intense and explosive and I can’t wait to read the finale.
9. Recommend the book/s that got you into reading
While the initial seed was the Mahabharata and other Indian epics, the book that got me into reading English novels has to be Sherlock Holmes.
10. Recommend 3+ bloggers who recommend great books
I’m so lucky to have a lot of friends who are always recommending me amazing books but the top ones have to be
Nandini @ Novels and Nebulas
Krisha @ Bookathon Blog
Dany @ Ambivert Reads
I Tag:
Krisha || Dany || Ahana || Shruti || Jane || And anyone else who is interested.
The Ultimate Recommendations Book Tag I always have a feeling that I only gush about the same books all the time and I'm not very good at giving recommendations to other readers - but I'm actively trying to change that mindset.

It was well past sundown when John met Greg at the pub. The homicide had been brutal—double murder, clear signs of struggle, and nothing adding up—and Greg was already one pint in, scowling into his glass.
“Sherlock didn’t show,” he muttered when John slid into the booth.
John raised a brow. “Why?”
Greg took a bitter sip. “You tell me, mate. I called him about the Kensington case—two bodies, no motive, weird timeline—and you know what he said?”
John leaned in. “What?”
Greg mimicked Sherlock’s voice, nose in the air: ‘Sorry, I’ve been commanded to attend a cardigan acquisition mission. It’s non-negotiable.’
John stared. “A what?”
Greg sighed. “He’s sweater-shopping, John. Sweater-shopping. With Shruti.”
John blinked, then let out a short laugh. “Uh..OH.”
“Yeah,” Greg nodded, miserable. “He chose pink sweaters over two fresh corpses. That’s love, I guess. Or madness.”
John chuckled into his drink. “Probably both.”
Greg grumbled, “Unbelievable. Four hours chasing cardigans instead of killers. And you know what the worst part is?”
John grinned. “What?”
Greg groaned. “He’s going to solve the case anyway tomorrow in under ten minutes. Wearing a pink scarf and looking smug about it.”
