Anwar Kharral (Skins 2009) I've got a headcanon that Anwar is a big soup enjoyer, specifically French Onion Soup, so I think Anwar could do alright caramelizing onions. As an adult, I think he can hold his own in the kitchen, but that's because he knows that the payoff is going to be worth it.

Sonny Kapoor (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, 2011) Sonny is blessed to be in the position where he can export the onion caramelizing to the hotel kitchens, where a professional can handle it. He has not been allowed in a kitchen since 2005, per his mother's orders. No, he will not tell you why.

Neal Sampat (Newsroom, 2011-2014) In my head, Neal comes from a family of restauranteurs. He's inherited the family skill, he's out of practice. His stove has been broken since he moved into this apartment. The odds are stacked against him, but still, he busts out a hot plate and gets to work, you're getting your onions.

Deon Wilson (Chappie, 2015) Deon has been eating hot pockets and adult portions of lunchables since he moved out of the house in 2015. He's barely familiar with vegetables, you're gonna have to teach him how to work the stove. Sorry girl, he's really cute tho.

Sheru "Saroo" Bierley (LION, 2016) Sue Brierly made sure both of her sons knew how to hold their own in a kitchen, and Saroo is not gonna forget that knowledge. If you've got a hankering for French onion soup, you better believe that he's gonna do everything he can to get ready for you.

Jay Menha (The Wedding Guest, 2018) Sanjay is tricky. The two of you travel so often for 'work', and it's kind of hard to not get takeout. However, once in a blue moon, Jay will make a nice meal for the two of you. He's romantic, he's sweet, and the two of you have a cozy night together. Yes, he did call his mother to make it happen. Yes, he's gonna do everything in his power to make sure you don't find that out.

David Copperfield (2019) I feel like David will need help the first few times he's in a kitchen. He's a man of means now, so he's able to pay his cook to give him lessons in the kitchen. This being said, I feel like David will want to cook for you, but tell you that the cook prepared it. You like it better when David cooks for you, even if you don't know it.

Joshua Madika (Modern Love, 2019) Joshua can and will buy you every single onion in the world. He doesn't mean to be so 'much', but you love him for it! This being said, he will give Carmelizing Onions one solid attempt, and depending how it goes, then he'll get you takeout from all your favorite spots in the city. It's a win-win to be honest.

Sir Gawain (The Green Knight, 2021) Oh, I'm sorry babe, he'd absolutely not be able to caramelize onions for you. I do, however, think, that he would be great at making smores. He is totally capable of putting a marshmallow on a stick and holding it over heat until it's golden brown. That is the extent of his food-gathering capabilities. God bless him for still being alive at age twenty-one.

WELCOME BACK AGAIN TO THE WEEKLY FILM REVIEW SERIES, SOME THOUGHTS, INSIGHTS, SNNIPETS & WHAT MAKES IT SO UNIQUE.

This is one of the few rich movies I have seen so far & by the term rich I don’t mean visually , or some heavy commercially viable film. The film is in itself a rich source of content since it has in it ingrained all sorts of the varied mix of different interpersonal relationships & above all making the audience believe that the theme ‘HUMANITY’ still exists!

SYNOPSIS: The story is about the journey of a five year old SAROO from the KHANDWA DISTRICT of MADHYA PRADESH in INDIA , TO AUSTRALIA. SAROO , belongs from a poor family, the breadwinner being his mother only , & he has a elder brother ‘GUDDU ‘ & has a younger sister. They have a very menial income wherein SAROO ‘s mother works as a labourer carrying rocks, his brother works in a mill & sometimes they both steal coal from freight trains to trade for milk & food. Although they live in acute poverty , but as a family even in such hardship they all live happily. One day , SAROO ACCOMPANIES his brother to his job at the mill late in the night & they arrive at a nearby train station, where SAROO decides to stay back & take a nap. GUDDU tries to wake him up , but SAROO feels a lot tired . AFTER some hours when GUDDU does’nt return from his work SAROO searches for him & boards a train presuming GUDDU is aboard. He falls asleep again in one of the compartments & wakes up to find the train in motion, while he shouts & shrieks for hep , but all in vain. After several days, the train arrives in a faraway station in CALCUTTA, WEST BENGAL  wherein he does’nt get to understand the language very much. He stands at the ticket counter & tries to obtain a ticket home , but the attendant does’nt recognise the name of the village, hence he ultimately finds shelter along with the street children , until he wakes up & is forced to run when a group of man tries to kidnap him. This is the first time he got the experience of human trafficking.

After a few days , SAROo comes across NOOR , a seemingly friendly woman who takes him back to her apartment. She tells SAROO that a man named RAMA will help him find his way back home. Something does’nt click in the tone of the words RAMA & SAROO feels suspicious about their intentions, so he listened  to his gut & ran away. After a few days he is helped by a young man who takes him to the police station , but unable to trace any information , they put him in an orphanage. Three months later , he is adopted by an AUSTRALIAN couple , little did he realise he has to shift to TASMANIA , miles away from his home. But he did’nt have any inch of fear left inside him & he gracefully accepts them as his parents. He also has an adopted brother MANTOSH , another fellow adopted by his adopted parents, but soon he realises MANTOSH is not that cooperative &with his parents. This makes SAROO ‘s adopted mother emotionally beaten & anxious. Even if SAROO is of a tender age , he understands his mother & lovingly embraces his support without even questioning anything. That displays his level of maturity.

Time passes & he grows with time in to a young gentleman , who is now all set to go to the UNIVERSITY of MELBOURNE to complete his hotel management degree. The fact that has not changed is the behaviour of MANTOSH towards his mom , & this upsets him & also his mother who considers herself guilty for the same. Here is when audience comes to know that MANTOSH lives seperate from SAROO & HIS PARENTS , because that is a way he tries to protect them for from the insecurities he has inside of him ,which also shows that MANTOSH is concerned for his adopted parents , but his disability ha s made him a lot more pessimistic in life. In MELBOURNE SAROO falls in love with LUCY & they both go on pretty well. One fine afternoon they arrive to the student housing wherein all the group were having Indian cuisine, & though SAROO seemed to have moved ahead in life , when he treads in to the kitchen , after finding a JALEBI laid down on the table , he takes a bite of it & he goes down the memory lane wherein he always wanted to have this swet , but back that time he did’nt have that much money. Thsi makes him emotional & he confronted his friends saying that ‘ I WAS LOST’. TEARS came down his eyes as he said so. So his friends tries to help him out , but it seems he does’nt remeber anything except the fact he belongs from GANESHTALAY. Now INDIA being such a scattered country , not knowing the district or the state it was almost impossible ti find out the exact location ,since for several days he was on that train lonely before he reached CALCUTTA. Though , SAROO seemed to give up on his idea of finding his way back in front of his friends , but the day after making out with Lucy , he wakes up in the midnight only to find himself in front of the laptop & trying to find the location by using the new technology , ‘ GOOGLE EARTH’ back then. He calculated the train speeds & the distance within a circumradius formed on an idea of his vivid imagination , but it does’nt seem to work out, & this makes him a lot more restless . It seems like wherever he is , some voice is screaming out on his ears , trying to call him back & he could see halluicination his elder brother GUDDU all the time. For the worse his relationship with LUCY  becomes bitter. FOR LUCY , he seems to have lost between his past & his present.  She tells him to confront his present wherein he yells at her saying that, ‘ DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE? HOW EVERYDAY MY REAL BROTHER SCREAMS MY NAME? CAN YOU IMAGINE THE PAIN THEY MUST BE NO KNOWING WHERE I AM ?. For the next several days , he seems to search his answers , trying out every possible way , but nothing happens. AFTER few monthe he meets LUCY again  wherein she asks him , ‘ WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU FIND THEY ARE NOT THERE ? , to which he replies , ‘ I HAVE NO CHOICE’. He also comes to know from his father that his mother is not very well, so is possible if he could just meet her. He visits SUE , whose health is deteoriating, & learns that she is no infertile & that he had chosen to help others through adoption . for she feels ,by giving out a birth will not make anything better , rather than giving a life to someone suffering  intensely may induce a difference. After hearing her , he mends his relationship with LUCY & MANTOSH & decides to give up his idea of searching any further , giving a last try. So , one evening while scanning GOOGLE EARTH, serendipitiousy , he happens to recollect the rock formations , his mother worked & gradually with every click he seems to move closer to his way back home , ultimately coming across the neighbourhood he lived in. HAVING , completed his serach he informs his adoptive mother all about his whereabouts & why he behaved estraned these all days , living in seperation from them. In turn she understands his pain & fully supports his efforts.

He goes back to INDIA , in search of his mother which is still a doubt for in this wide span of 25yrs , it may be she has moved somewhere, but to his fortune, his biological mother never left the village for she had deep faith that one day her son will find her way back home . He also comes to know that his elder brother is dead. Finally he is able to come back to where it all began. His adoptive & biological parents reconciled & shed tears on such a long journey back home.

In the end he comes to know that he actually mispelled his name ‘ SHERU ‘ for ‘ SAROO’  & this is a bit of irony because SHERU means LION, the animal who always finds its way back to its abode.

 The film is based upon a true story by SAROO BRIERLY. It is a life story which shows the power of conviction & determination to reach one’s goal. It highlights the selflessness of a mother who projected the essence of motherhood which is not just restricted to being biological. IT also makes us learn that even if we try to leave our past behind , if something is left back , we have to go back to our past to mend back affairs. It is a philosophical journey which captures the idea behind imagination because he literally found his mother from SPACE. It’s a journey which shows how life is a full circle. It comes back to where it began. Above all its the power of humanity which holds the string of interpersonal relationships of life.

SOMETIMES STORIES ARE NOT JUST STORIES , THEY CONTAIN THE POWER TO TRANSFORM IMAGINATION IN TO REALITY & THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU CAN REFUTE BECAUSE IT IS A TRUE REALITY REALISED BY THE INDIVIDUAL. SO HAVE BELIEF IN WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

“The stars came out in search of the moon.” — A Lion (2016) Film Review

MOVIE SUMMARY

Saroo, a 5-year-old boy, lives with Guddu and Kallu, his siblings and Shekila, her mom in Khandwa, India. Saroo and his brother Guddu steals coal in exchange for milk. A day came when Saroo was supposed to look after Kallu, but instead followed his brother to his job. Arriving at the destination through a train, Saroo felt sleepy, so his brother left him in a bench to go for work. When he woke up, the place was empty, and looked for his brother, eventually entering a train on stop. When he woke up again, the train was already running and it went for days until it stopped in Calcutta.

In that place, he tried to find way to go back despite that the residents of the place speak Bengali, which he doesn’t understand. He then faces a series of struggles, like running away from kidnappers, going after a woman who seemed nice but had bad intentions, and running again. After two months of living near a bridge, he brought by a man to the police where he said he was from “Ginestalay” that turns out, does not exist which led him to an orphanage, and finally meeting Mrs. Sood who found him a couple that wants to adopt him.

Sue and John Brierly, Saroo’s adopters lived with him in Hobart, Tasmania, wherein after a year, another boy named Mantosh who is struggling with self-harm was adopted by them. After twenty years, as a young man, he moved to Melbourne to study hotel management where he meets Lucy who she forms a romantic relationship with. When he made friends with other Indians in the place, he came to see jalebi, an Indian street food which he always wanted as a kid, but never had because of poverty. This made him open up his story to his friends, paving way to the idea of finding his hometown through Google Earth.

He pursued the idea, but along the way he got too immersed with it, affecting his relationship with Lucy, Mantosh, and his parents. When he found out that his hometown is instead Ganesh Talai, he tried to fix his relationships, and his adoptive mother Sue, fully supported his want to check his biological family. Saroo then went to Ganesh Talai, discovering that his mother and sister was alive whereas Guddu has passed away. In the end, Shekila appreciated Sue’s care for her son and accepts that they Saroo’s family. Saroo discovers that he has been mispronouncing his name which should be “Sheru,” which means lion.

GUIDE QUESTIONS

What life lessons can be learned from the movie? First thing in mind: this movie gives us a new angle of reality—of what the hard life is out there—I realized never had any right to complain for anything; there should be no excuses for me. Other than that, there is still so much to learn in this movie that can be picked up throughout Saroo’s journey, namely: fortitude, perseverance, gratitude, not giving up the trust that there are still kind people, and not losing the ability to look back where you came from. You can identify the fortitude and perseverance in Saroo’s character when he did not give up looking for his family when he was lost at such a young age and when he decided to find his real hometown through Google Earth. As a reflection, I learned that he had that strength for facing a such a low time in such a young age. And then, the fact that he found a way to still get through life with the help of people, taking note of the young man who brought him to the police and his adoptive parents, I realized that there are still people who choose to be bigger by being kind. Gratitude and the ability to look back is seen with the way he respected his adoptive parents and how he pursued finding his biological family. If I summed it up, I would say the main thing I learned from this is, “Never forget where you came from, but do not lack gratitude for what you have now.”

As for the other characters, Sue, John, and Lucy, taught me the importance of understanding and open-mindedness, I deeply admire how they kept their support throughout all that.

What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why? I have to list two answers for this one. First is when Sue admitted that she could have had kids on her own, but decided to adopt them as a help. It is a simple concept, but she made it so great, because…just imagine the sacrifice and control with that. She has a great heart and a great mind which makes her overall a great woman. It made me think that there is a possibility of many other people that could live just the same life as she had, selfless and generous.

The second is the moment when the kids in the orphanage sang the lyrics “the stars came out in search of the moon.” A simple lyric, but how it was delivered poked me the idea of how hard really their situation is—of the loneliness, the fear, and the cluelessness.

Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why? Saroo would best fit as my answer for this one. It is his story, and he carried me all throughout his journey, and I never was bored. For him to live such experience and survived it, it is like a privilege to know his story, and learn from it. Apparently, I read a synopsis before I watched it, and it was enough to make me thrilled of his journey. Additionally, basing from what I listed as the things I learned from him, he obviously did not disappoint at all.

Did anything that happened in the movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have seen occur to other? The selfless act of Sue makes me see a reflection of what my parents do for me. It is not of the same way, but of the same intention and the same root: love.

If you had a chance to ask a character in this movie a question, what would it be? I would ask Saroo of how he dealt and coped from being afraid of all his experiences the moment he got lost that night, because it was an extreme shock, and I want to know his insight after that terrifying experience.

Movie review

     The movie Lion directed by Garth Davis, is a book adaptation of “ A Long Way Home by he himself(the REAL) Saroo Brierly and is release on the year 2016. In the year 1986, there was a five –year old boy named Saroo who lived with his brother Guddu, mother and sister. Unfortunate as they can be, they are peasants and they live in a small house in a shady town. Their single mother whose only job is to pick rocks cannot sustain their everyday needs thus Guddu and his brother sometimes board the trains illegally and steal as many coals as they can so they can exchange it for some milk. One day when their mother is away, Guddu; Saroo’s brother sneak away to find some money and Saroo insisted to come. When they’ve arrived at the station where Guddu’s workplace is near, Saroo took a nap. When Guddu doent return, Saroo started to find him and ends up in a train where he accidentally slept due to tiredness and thus the long journey of Saroo began.

     The climax of the movie is quite the struggle. The movie is too great that you can solely feel the emotions the actors are omitting, it’s a war between reality and nightmares.  It is really hard to adapt a book but I think they did great. They showed the cultures and all the raw materials of India that makes it aesthetic even though they’re standing in a pile of garbage. The cinematography is too great specially the changing of mood and tones of the video that it takes away from the over all plot. If I can give this movie a score, it’ll be 9/10.

1. What life lessons can be learned from the movie?

     I personally think that this movie is better than “wonder” for it really solve a certain problem of a country. I realized that what Sue said is correct, that there’s enough people in the world so let’s just adopt and give the children a second chance to live their lives to the fullest. I also learned that no matter how hard you conceal those feelings of yours and how much you shut your eyes about reality, you cant escape from it. The only way  is to wrapped your fingers around it and face it head on.  This gutsy feelings we have serves as road signs that points our way home. But remember that home is not just a place, it is also a feeling. And as humans, it’s just natural that we are longing for this feeling and place.

2. What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?

       The part of the story that is very powerful is when Sheru and Sue had a little genuine conversation. Sheru is begging for forgiveness about how Sue cant have kids and that they(Sheru and Mantosh) are just spoiling Sue’s life by being a heavy burden and what came next shocked me the most. I also thought that she adopted the both of them because she cant bear any child but she just want to help other people. She wants to give the less fortunate people a second chance in life and sometimes that’s all we need. We all have greatness inside of us, unfortunately a few can only showcase themselves and their talents.

3. Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why?

         Cliche as it may be, I guess my favorite character in the movie is the protagonist;Saroo. Since he was a child lingering in the unknown streets of India , not once that he cried because he misses home. He is just melancholic because of the guilt he feels when she thinks about her mom and his brother;Gaddu finding him every inch of their lives. I really like this character because despite all of his internal conflicts; the nightmares he have every night and all of the memories that came flashing to him at once, he never took out his frustrations to the people that surrounds him nor that he vocally said his confusion. But personally the great feature that this character has is his flaws and how he accepted his this as a part of him and how he converted this as a source of motivation to seek his goal

4. Did anything that happened in the movie reminded you something that has occurred in your own life or that you have seen occur to others??

       I guess I relate to Sheru because we we’re both homeless, only that it’s just spiritually. Sometimes its just too hard to wake up and stand up when there are too many voices in your head, spewing too many ideas. What is lonelier than having your home taken from you is the idea that you can never retrieve it again. The moments when he was lost in thoughts in the cross-roads, I felt it all. But I also felt the exact feeling Saroo felt when he found his way back home again. It’s like riding a roller coaster even though the amusement park was already closed. I felt the thrill of it all and how the best feeling in the world is knowing where you belong

5. If you had a chane to as a character in this movie, what would it be?

This question is addressed to Gaddu, if you can have a second chance to meet your long lost brother, what would you say?

Anwar Kharral (Skins 2009) I feel like Anwar is the biggest geek. Even with all the money and clout that comes with being an indie darling, on some level, he can't quite believe that he's with you, he still sees himself as the geeky boy who ran off to London. He pulled you, he can't believe it. Anyways, Anwar reacts like Wiley Coyote. It's almost cartoon-ish the way his eyes bulge out of his head. He takes a minute to actually put his hands on you, but he makes it worth the wait.

Sonny Kapoor (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, 2011) Straight up I don't think Sonny would believe it. You're pretty chill as a person, always following your gut, and standing your ground when you need to, but Sonny, being Sonny, definitely jumps to the conclusion of you being the wildest western sex goddess dream, like a centerfold or one of the ladies from the internet videos . He proceeds to give you the head of a lifetime, good for you.

Neal Sampat (Newsroom, 2011-2014) To Neal, you are the definition of "baddie on a budget". If you work with him, the two of you have the same job and he's likely getting the same amount of pay as you, and he doesn't get paid what for the worth of the work he does, same for you. This is why he's absolutely floored when you come out in one of the nicest sets. Is it out of your budget? Yeah. Do you take advantage of his shock and ride tf out of him? Also yeah.

Deon Wilson (Chappie, 2015) Deon, due to lack of experence, would have a good moment where he's caught like a deer in headlights (ha ha), we think he'd probably admire for a while, want a 360 view with the softest look on his face. It would really be soft, and you'd get tiny kisses on your neck most likely.

Sheru “Saroo” Bierley (LION, 2016) Saroo is a little bit tough. I feel like, initially, he'd could be kinda mean, just ordering you to lay down and teasing tf out of you for being a 'slut', which you are, but for him, specifically. But on the other hand, I could also see Saroo just being so 😁 thrilled to be with you, especially when you look like an angel with no wings, "So like a person" is what you respond, and I feel like you gotta get smacked in the pussy a few times for that.

Jay Menha (The Wedding Guest, 2018) Sanjay immediately dives in. I feel like this is one of the few times where he'd ask if you like what your wearing before he dives in and starts to fuck you. Being of an artistic mindset, there is a good chance he'd want to take pictures or draw you looking so pretty, but he's a kind person. He won't make you wait for dick. David Copperfield I feel like you bust out the costumes/lingerie when David's been a little too lost in his work. Essentially, what happens is he's troubleshooting his latest plot to you while you're getting dressed, his nose practically buried in pieces of paper. He's lost in his own little world, so you pull him by the hair to bring him back to you. Once he sees what your wearing he gets hard because (1) it's you and (2) he was able to pay for the outfit with his books!!!! The fuck!! David, being David, proceeds to chatter on about the heroine and what she should do to one of her love interests, and it's a lot better than what he had going before you pulled him back to you. You have to sit on his face to get him to shut the fuck up, but that's hardly an inconvenience.

Joshua Madika Joshua would be a bit of a goof. I fully see you taking his credit card out on a spree, and he comes home to a mini fashion show where he gets hard at the idea of spending money on you. This man was built to be a sugar daddy, but if you tell him he can look, but can't touch, he'll respect that.

Sir Gawain I don't think they had lingerie in the middle ages, but I'm picturing something that likely has chains on it, and wouldn't be the most comfortable. There's a high chance that this would also link somewhat to medieval BDSM, and you are going to be teased within an inch of your life. Also, I feel like when your dressed up, your inside. IDK if I say this enough, but fucking Gawain outside 😛

You work closely with Neal at ACN, he’s aware of the fact that you’ve had an ongoing battle with your hair. It’s too long, it’s too short, you never seem to have a hair tie, so you use pens, pencils, etc. You facetime him from the salon, because he wants to know where you put some papers for a story the two of you are working on, and you get a full view of how Neal’s jaw drops when the stylist takes the clippers to your hair.

Neal wants to tell you how cool you look. How flipping hot it was to watch you be so brave, and how you make him think all these lovely thoughts about stuff outside of work. He can’t quite manage the words just yet. One day.

Deon is a whole mess. He comes home a little worried because you had a stressful day at work, as he heard over text. You seem a little bit shell-shocked, but he pulls the towel off your head to reveal pink. Bright, bold, pink.

“Is it okay?” You ask, rubbing your temples. Deon can barely find the strength to say “yeah!” Pink is always a good idea.

You get a pixie cut, it seemed like a good idea at the time. I mean, with your busy life, you didn’t have time to manage your hair how you want. It’s practical! It’s a bit of a shock, but it’s practical. Saroo finds you cuddled up on the couch, trying to relax after such a big change. He gets a bit soft, seeing you’re a bit stunned.

“New look?” You nod as you scrunch into your boyfriend. “I like it.” He puts a hand on your head and starts playing with the soft hair, as you calm down.

Jay Menha (The Wedding Guest, 2018)

You were trying to lay low. Things had gone south in Mumbai, so the two of you had holed up in some hotel just outside of the city. You’re waiting for a call, and once you get The Call, everything will be okay. But there was still something you could do to make this better. There wasn’t much Jay could do to fly under the radar, but this way people would say he was traveling with the old you, someone who didn’t exist anymore. It was time for a new look. You get a mix together and bleach your hair, before cutting it to your jaw. It’s beautiful.

You don’t say anything as you get back into bed with your partner, the acidic scent of lemon still hanging in the air. He’s smiling at you in the dimly-lit room, right before the phone rings.

It had been something of an “impossible year” for the two of you. Not only had David had his third book published, but you’d both brought your first child into the world. Things had changed, and a little part of you felt stuck as the person you were when you and David were still courting. You loved that version of yourself, but they weren’t ready to be a parent, or a spouse to someone.

It’s an impulse, but it feels correct. You cut your nearly waist-length hair to your shoulders. It would be better for your daughter not to pull on your skull anyway. See? Practical. With all the weight gone, your texture seems increased, so it blooms around your head, like a flower. David tells you so, and proceeds to be in a daze for the next week, at least!

It’s a little bit stupid, but so incredibly valid. You were stalking this new guy who had been coming into your cafe, maybe you’d been on a date or two, but you liked him more than you wanted to admit.

It had been at least an hour of trying to find a black cloud or red flag to hang off Joshua, and you finally found her instagram. “@notemmaroberts” Cringe. His ex, Emma, who he’d mentioned in passing, had a haircut not unlike yours.

You can’t have that. Joshua had told you that he’d been cheated on before, by Emma. You don’t want to have anything in common with her. So, you take off early and head to the salon, letting the stylist have her way.

Next morning, Joshua comes in.

“I love the hair,” He beams at you, “are you free Thursday?”

Sir Gawain (The Green Knight, 2021)

You were by no means royal, this didn’t stop the prince from coming to see you almost every evening for a fortnight. You like him a lot. But this wasn’t about any stupid feelings you might have. You need to eat.

It was horrible, having those butchers slice and hack on your head, to get a silver piece in return? You barely registered the loss as you gnawed on a loaf of bread outside your house.

You hear Grin’s jingle as Gawain slides off the horse, a little bit concerned that you were staring at the ground while eating an entire loaf of day-old bread.

“At least I still have all my teeth.” You say as you begin to cry. Gawain wraps a scarf over your head before wrapping himself around you and letting you finish your meal. Not on his watch. Never again. He's going to take care of you now.

Arthur Dayal (OC)

Arthur’s sweet to you. The two of you had started a tradition known as a “do-day” where on your birthday, you do the things you’d been thinking about, looking at, all year.

He supports you every step of the way, but goes absolutely bonkers when you decide today is the day to get a bob. Your hair is formidable, and not unlike a blanket, so why not? It’s do-day, anything is possible! Arthur has his phone out, recording for your snap story, but he makes sure to hold your hand the entire time as your hair falls in clumps to the floor. 10/10, would recommend
