Emmanuelle was alone in the garden, and she had been dancing around with her headphones on for at least half an hour already. At least she thought she was alone. As she spun around, she saw a person standing there and a shriek escaped her. She quickly yanked off her headphones, mumbling, “Um... I’m sorry, I’m just... I thought no one was here.”

“bumpin’ party, huh - what did i miss?” she asked over her shoulder as one of her housemates came down the stairs into the living room.

Another night in Safe Haven and Eva was starting to get used to it. She felt safe here which made sense, it had it’s name for a reason. The halls were relatively empty at this hour but she didn’t mind. Being alone wasn’t as scary now, she didn’t immediately think back to Oslo and what she’d left behind there - or what she’d done. A noise behind her cause Eva to turn around, scared at first at the sudden appearance of another person but quickly smiling at them. “Oh hello. I didn’t realize anyone else would be roaming the halls at this hour. Off to do something fun?”

It had been a rough night. Victor hated new places, and this place was just so different. At least his good friend nicotine had stepped up to help him out. Always a great distraction. He didn’t even look up when he sensed someone approaching him. “You think it’s possible to ever get used to a place like this?”

Loïc was kicking back in the living room. Feet on the table, beer in hand, the works. Even through his state of immense relaxation, he noticed someone looking at him. He raised his beer to them with just the slightest smirk, “I think the phrase you’re searching for is ‘hey handsome’.”

What had started as a peaceful morning walk around the property quite quickly turned to a situation of terror when Parker felt his phone begin to vibrate in his pocket. Pulling it out, he stared at it for a long time, fear etched onto his features. No one had called him in weeks; not since everything had happened. Of course it could have been just anyone, but what if it was one of them? What if they were calling to tell him that they knew he was alive, and they would be coming after him to finish the job? Rational thought failing him due to his panic, he gave his phone a hard toss, watching it soar through the air, before it dropped down to the ground and out of sight. Being able to feel someone’s eyes on him, he exhaled a sigh, before a shakey sort of chuckle escaped him. “I uh, I guess this probably looks pretty weird to you right now. But hey, everyone is in this place for a reason right?” He said, before turning to face the person who had been witness to his moment of panic.

maggie scowled as she placed a toy on the coffee table of the living room. she’d misplaced the directions, but it seemed like a toy simple enough to know how to operate without them anyways. apparently, the directions were important because she had no idea how it was supposed to ‘jump’. she and ben stared at it for a few seconds before looking at each other. “sorry minnow, i dunno what it’s supposed to do so i don’t know if it’s even working. we’ll go to the store tomorrow and get something that you can figure out, okay?” she said, running her hand through his shaggy hair. just seconds later, the toy made a loud popping noise and propelled upwards off of the coffee table, which made both of them jump, magnolia scream and benjamin immediately scrambling to magnolia’s lap as he started crying, which only made maggie laugh in response. “honey, it’s okay,” she said with a small laugh, kissing his head. “did it scare you?” she asked, running her hand over his back as she rocked side to side gently. when she saw the other, she stifled her laughing a little. “i’m not --- i’m not laughing at him, i’m laughing at how fast he got to me,” she said, attempting to justify her actions, but she honestly didn’t care.

''Jason! Hi, how- ... Oh, yeah I'm free?'' Theo smiled fondly into the phone. He got attached too quickly. ''Yeah it's tonight right?'' Then his smile faded. ''W-we can reschedule? If-if you want to! I mean it's cool if no-...yeah...no, no it's okay! I'm okay!'' His voice became strained, put on, fake. ''Jace it's okay. Maybe another day?...N-no?'' And here came the glossy eyes, the defensive voice. ''It's okay, yeah. No hard f-feelings!...you have a good evening too...yeah..bye...bye.''
Theo was upset, naturally. This wasn't the first date that was cancelled on him. What was it? Too eager? Too nice? Why could he never catch a man? It was becoming depressing. In a house this tight packed and a community so quiet, he was starting to go a little nutty and just wanted something fresh and entertaining. Maybe fulfilling a love life wasn't the best of ideas, huh?
He looked over at the figure nearby, recognising them. He sighed, they saw that.

Sure decorating was usually something people enjoyed but this time Ada only felt nerves as she hung lights along the walls of her room. She had no idea what she could be walking into now that she was at Safehaven; all she could hope for was something better. With the door to her bedroom open and her mind hopelessly trying to get lost in decorating and the sound of the background music she played she never noticed the figure who’d come in before it was too late and she turned to practically jump from her skin, dropping the string of lights. “Shit! I’m sorry... I had no idea you were there. Can I help you?”

The girl stared forward, her eyes almost burning holes through the wall in front of her. “You, know, we don’t have to listen to them. The therapists. They use a lot of big words. That's why they're smart, but they aren’t telling us anything that everyone already hasn’t. They promise freedom, but making people talk about their bondage, just gives them more.” Bo sighed, looking at the person beside her in the common room.

Sophia was unpacking her stuff in room with the door propped open. She didn’t understand how anyone could fit all of their stuff in these tiny rooms. Sophia was grateful she didn’t have a roommate, because she was definitely taking up both sides. She plopped down on her bed, exhausted. She heard someone pass her open door, “Hey!” she shouted, “Do you know where I can find some more hangers around here?”

Bordel de merde, she thought to herself as she looked around in confusion. Emmanuelle had hoped for some kind of welcoming committee, but she found no such thing. Finally she did spot someone, and she nervously walked up to them.
"Um, hi,“ she said quietly to the stranger, she felt a little nervous in the new house. “Do you maybe have a moment to help me? I just arrived, so I’m a little lost.”

Eva had spent the majority of the evening watching others sing and make fools of themselves playing spin the bottle, all in good fun of course, but that hadn’t stopped her from partaking in the drinking. Back home she had been quite the drinker and she pulled back once the accident happened but now she had no reason not to indulge at least a little. Her head was light, her skin was blushed, and Eva couldn’t imagine a better way to spend her night. Everything was funny to her and all of her problems disappeared. Laughing, she moved through the halls, almost running into someone as she headed towards her room. “Whoops -” she covered her mouth as she laughed, thinking back to the bar and everyone’s crazy behavior. “Sorry. I didn’t hurt you did I?”

“This is the common room, you don’t own it.” Loïc had been about to leave, but instead he rolled his eyes and sat back down out of spite, “You can tell me to leave all you want, but I'll stay right here until you get over yourself.”

So this was the Safe Haven house. It wasn't the most lavish house that Parker had ever stepped foot in, but it was certainly nothing to scoff at either. Making his way up the stairs, he set his heavy suitcase down once he reached the top of them. Then he let out an exhausted sigh, reaching to his collar to readjust his tie as he stood himself up straight again. He stood there for a moment, his hands on his hips, before he noticed that someone was looking at him, perhaps wondering as to why he was just standing in the middle of the hallway just past the top of the staircase. “Sorry. I uh, I just needed to take a breather for a minute here. My cab driver refused to drive up the laneway, effectively cutting his tip in half in the process, and I had to lug my very heavy suitcase from the end of it all the way to the house, and then all the way up here” He explained with a bit of a chuckle and a small shake of his head. “Don't mind me though. I know I may look like I'm about to fall over, but I look like that a lot, and I promise that it only actually happens like three or four times a day tops. And I've fallen five today, so I'm already over the limit” He added jokingly
