How did it take me this many years for me to notice the parallelism between Ward pushing Thomas (his younger brother) into a well out of fear of an authority figure (Christian) and Ward dropping Fitz (in essence, his younger brother) into the ocean out of loyalty to an authority figure (Garrett). Ward spends his entire life trying to outrun his actions at the well, only for HYDRA, his saving grace, to get him to repeat them freaking verbatim.
