Es war ein goldener Tag, an dem das Glück mich in die alte Hafenstadt am Tyrrhenischen Meer verschlug. In Genua gerät man in die alltäglich Gegenwart eines noch nicht erloschenen Mittelalters. Genua ist die Geburtsstadt des Kolumbus. Es wäre sonderbar, wenn die Historiker das nicht bezweifelt hätten. Aber die Legende stolpert nicht über plumpe Tatsachen. Nirgendwo anders als hier darf der Mann geboren sein, der den neuen Kontinent entdeckte, hier in dieser Stadt, deren kühne Befestigungen die Vermählung des Gebirges mit dem Meer feiern, hier in dieser Stadt, die der Nabel des Mare Nostrum ist. Dicht drängen sich die hohen Häuser auf engem Raum. Die Straßen sind schmal und voll einer warmen Luft der Beweglichkeit, des Eifers der Hilarität. Voyons comment améliorer l’organisation de ce cockpit pour le rendre plus confortable et plus pratique. Si sur un pêche promenade, la barre à roue, près du carré, est un grand classique, ce n’est pas le cas sur les voiliers de grande série. Le cockpit est l’endroit ou nous passons le plus de temps. Nous sommes à la barre, dehors, nous partageons l’apéro, et le repas, sur les bancs du cockpit et nous passons du temps à rêvasser, ou manoeuvrer pendant les navigations dans ce cockpit. C’est pour ces raisons que, lors de l’achat d’un voilier, vous devez porter une attention particulière au confort des hiloires. En effet, après quelques heures assis contre les filières, la forme des hiloires aura un impact sur vos sensations et sur votre dos. Mais au-delà de la forme des hiloires, le cockpit de nos voiliers peut être optimisé. Il est possible de mieux l’organiser et d'améliorer son confort. Pour ce sujet, je ne fais que donner mes petites habitudes. Comment se protéger du soleil ou des intempéries ?

En mer, le soleil peut être agressif. Même si vous naviguez en manche ou en Bretagne Sud, le soleil peur rendre une navigation, ou une escale, pénible si vous ne pouvez pas vous protéger de ses rayons. Cependant, cela reste un équipement cher à installer. - Le taud de cockpit : Ce taud peut être utilisé en escale, et parfois en croisière sur certains modèles, mais par beau temps. Il protège du soleil l’ensemble du cockpit, plus efficacement que la capote. - Le taud de camping : ce type de taud est très utilisé dans les pays nordiques. Il permet de fermer complètement ce dernier en créant une nouvelle pièce. Il sera utilisé en escale, pendant la mi-saison ou l’hiver. Mais à côté de ce matériel qui peut vite être hors de prix, je vous invite à aller voir du côté des camping-cars et des campeurs. On retrouve des tauds ou des tarps, ainsi que plein d’autre matériel, qui peuvent s'adapter à nos bateaux.

Comment avoir tout sous la main pour la navigation

La deuxième préoccupation, selon moi, lorsque nous sommes dans le cockpit, est d’avoir tout sous la main. C’est surtout le cas en navigation et quand vous faites une croisière en solitaire, en équipage réduit ou en famille. Vous ne pouvez, parfois pas vous permettre de descendre dans la cabine chercher quelque chose. Et dans tous les cas, tout avoir sous la main est un plus. Pour cela, il existe, là encore quelques petites astuces. Chez les shipchandlers, vous trouverez : - Organisateurs de filière : Ils s’accrochent aux filières et permettent de ranger des effets personnels. - Des rangements pour clés de winch - Des rangements pour bouts - Des crochets pour bouts Cependant, pour vos effets personnels, il est est possible de faire beaucoup mieux. De mon côté, j’ai trouvé des équipements très intéressants du côté du monde du vélo. Je me sers de sacoches de guidon, entre autres. - Grande sacoche de guidon accrochée au balcon arrière pour ranger mes effets personnels. Elle permet de ranger beaucoup de choses et est généralement étanche. Arrivé au port, il ne me reste plus qu’à la déclipser et la ranger. - Petite sacoche de guidon avec pochette transparente pour smartphone. J’ai, comme cela, sous la main, ma cartographie sur mon smartphone et ma VHF portable, par exemple. Cette sacoche peut aussi être fixée sur le support de la capote de roof, par exemple.

Comment optimiser le rangement dans le cockpit, en croisière ?

Enfin, ce qui manque souvent, dans un bateau, c’est de la place pour ranger notre bordel. Et le confort à bord d'un bateau passe par l'optimisation de la place. Il y a bien le coffre de cockpit. Mais si nombre de voiliers, surtout les plus anciens, ces coffres sont, certes, volumineux, mais profond. Dans ce cas, vous vous retrouvez parfois dans l’obligation de sortir plein de chose avant d’atteindre ce que vous cherchiez. L’idée est donc d’optimiser l’organisation du coffre. Il suffit d’aller faire un tour sur les forums et de discuter avec vos voisins de mouillage ou de pontons pour échanger vos astuces. Entre les étagères, faites maison, en planche de contreplaqué et les portes-cintre, à vous de choisir. De mon côté, n’ayant pas de radeau de sauvetage, j’ai utilisé l’emplacement de ce dernier, situé sous un banc, à l’arrière du cockpit. J’y ai installé un bac avec mon équipement de pêche et de loisirs, que j’utilise souvent en croisière. A côté, un bidon d’essence de 5 litres me permet d’avoir une réserve sous la main. Enfin, j’ai vu une idée très intéressante pour les pare-battages, qui prennent toujours beaucoup de place. Cette organisation est surtout intéressante pour ceux d’entre nous qui ont une place au ponton. Cette technique est italienne. Ce n’est pas la plus jolie, mais elle est ingénieuse. Les pare-battages sous tous reliés à un même bout, sur leur partie basse. En navigation, il suffit alors de tirer sur ce bout et l’ensemble des pare-battages se relèves en même temps.
