Started this excellent @shitpostsampler pattern last year, lost interest for a bit as per usual, and just finished all its stupid little zigzags (affectionate) (mostly) yesterday. Wish it hadn’t got so much more relevant, now I feel like I have to actually frame it and find somewhere to put it.

Just finished a pattern inspired by @shitpostsampler. (I adjusted their pattern to better suit a frame I already have and changed the font.)

I'm delighted to share that I used sparkly etoile floss for the nori, to mimic its slight iridescence. It's hard to capture in a photo, but it has a slight shimmer that makes me so happy!

My followers told me to post my old crafts so let’s start with the cross stitch I made my sister before her brain surgery. She has it hanging from her wall from a thumbtack.

Tried variegated threads for the first time, so I may have to take another picture when it's sunny out. There's some nice sparkling action going on in the border, and it makes me very happy.

I took part in this years mystery SAL from @shitpostsampler and while I was at it I threw in last years one since I'd missed that one. I'm trying to decide if I want to make them into little pillows or make frames for them. It was fun having small quick projects, I used some leftover aida from making a biscornu, the blue one I used leftover floss from my sisters wedding gift and the sin bin I used generic off brand flosses.

I feel like it's both a rite of passage and a sign of stress that when I was putting my fabric into the hoop I straight up ripped the hoop apart with my bare hands:

But yeah here's my day's work! Did one stitch wrong but I'll fix it when we do the section below this one.

It Begins

For notation purposes, the white x's are the lighter blue, and the dark squares are the darker blue. Hopefully the gold/yellow is self evident. If you missed the setup post, you can find it here.
