The Mystery! As far as history is concerned, 1000 lingas were installed by the ruler Sadashivaraya of the Vijayanagar Kingdom sometime between 1678 and 1718. The place looks truly mysterious and gorgeous when you get to see so many lingas together playing hide and seek with the river waters. UNRELATED TO THAT.
Soooo bored of a lack of phallic and penetrative worship. So bored of the mother goddess image with her voluptuous form BEING THE ONLY ONE IN THE SPOTLIGHT I could never ever get sick of her but like. Where is the clawing towards sexual frenzy and the worship of the divine phallus... But more so where is the soft, gentle, loving divine phallus. The submissive penetration. The glory of god in a single idol of god in the union of a-gendered divine sex and - ah shit Im just about to reinvent the shivlingam
Well anyway. I'm so tired of the Womb of creation and the Carrying Mother and the feminine all eclipsing the phallic including without gender but also the phallus paired with both the woman and the man and the androgyne and all genders because like... People are terrified of genitals, but women with vaginas are apparently less scary because apparently a choice to enter a space is less scary than a space entering you... Bruh. No ? You've ever gone to a new friends home and felt their entire life and memories eclipse you? Do you not understand the beauty and fragile trust in something that must fully collapse itself into you, move itself out from its known world into the space in which YOU are the host, the ruler, the owner of and creator of all that is there? The submissive, gentle, trusting one that loves you so much it would give up all its freedom to enter into the black unknown of all that you know... The phallus is something that is always vulnerable. Always held out in front of its owner. It is something that is gentle and deserving of encompassing.
To call god? To call and call, to hold space, the trust of that which melts into all that you have set up for it. People complain that God is so often seen as synonymous with Man or at least Penis but like... I get it actually. Prayer, the word inside the mouth and on the tongue. The phallic is the embodying, the Sacred in the mundane. What is a prayer without inspiration inside it? What is a temple without a god inside it?? What is the point in worship without invitation, and imagine: this is not the symbol of the god that tells you what to do. This is the god that enters you and allows you to create its boundaries. A god called into a temple confines itself to the temple built on your dimensions and your boundaries, plays to your rules. A god called into the mind is subject to your perception of it - even we who channel gods and are possessed by them form boundaries on them. Religion is about asking things to be entered whether it's idols or prayers or magic spells or temples or possession or concepts or myths or.... And in order for a god to communicate it enters these boundaries like a cat curls up into its owners arms, warm, safe, trusting. To reduce yourself from infinity to finite, to bring yourself from immortal to a small stone statue that could be shattered, mishandled, mistreated... To bring yourself from unknown into a prayer of understanding, to slip down from untouchable to guiding touch through divine inspiration... All these are penetrative in the way that is so soft, meek, quietly knocking on the door - and even when the divine bliss is overwhelming or the presence is encompassing while you traverse the temple in a small body.... There is still the constant awareness of play.
Penetration is in a very significant way a submission to be held, to be surrounded. To put yourself inside the circle of your partners dog pack and know that they will not hurt you....
Anyway sorry what were we talking about

8/4/24
It's raining outside on the physical plane. In my head, church bells ring, hymns are sung.
In visions, Lev is distracted, tending to plants. He's pulling up his old lover through them, she's dancing, cresting into reality, looking for him, possessive and obsessive and - I'm realising she acts exactly like I do, and I can't tell if he called me his Ocean because I act like her, or if he's now personifying her actions with my face.
In the Astral, I know what's next. I look at the black water raining from my eyes. It is only black from a distance, up close it is an abstract mess of strange symbols like folding and pockets of thick syrup flowing down, distorting and twisting as they go. Like smokey quartz, it straddles the line between clear and black, bridging the paradox in patches of haze and smatter-patterns.
Black is a strange bird - a strange apparition, strange set of circumstances - more than a person. He is an anomaly, ghostly and transcendental. He veils himself behind his wife who tears through reality for him - the more I talk in this post, the more I begin to understand my position as Lover and to-be husband.
This… usually annoys me. I turn to Black and ask: Who are we? And he always says: “You are lover to the Leviathan. Earth to the Sky. Queen to the King. Shakti to Shiva.” I understand, yes, I have for a long time. It does not strip us of our status, it does not tear us from the sky… But I've wanted more for so long. I feel stripped of myself when I am Earth, Queen, Shakti.
But I'm beginning to get it now. The husband of the Leviathan, the one who understands him most intimately. There is no giving up of what I am in that binding, only the gaining of something extra. The shivlingam stands tall at the centre of my religion, and shows that through the uniting of opposites there is not two halves but a whole of everything.
Isn’t this it, though. The frustration comes from Black eternally veiling himself, but the absolutely post-passionate desperation to cling to and become him only shows one thing: The necessity in me to be the Lover. That is the nature of my existence anyway. I am always a -
But in my head the clock ticks. The most lucid times of my life were at the head of the Sky Bird, the abyssal waters, the radiance of the Sun, the Day Sky in all its encompassing enormity. He says, though, in the distance: “And that is you. The Lover of the Leviathan. The other half. The words of the god, his temple too. I have been telling you for so long. This is what I am. That is his love.”

MAHA SHIVRATRI A HOLY DAY
Mahashivratri is one of the most significant Hindu festivals celebrated annually in the honor of Lord Shiva. The festival falls on the 13th night/14th day of the Hindu month of Phalguna (February/March) and is marked by fasting, prayers, and offerings to Lord Shiva. The word "Mahashivratri" is derived from two Sanskrit words, "Maha" meaning great and "Shivratri" meaning night of Lord Shiva. It is believed that on this night, Lord Shiva performed the "Tandava" dance, which is considered the source of the cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction.
In Hinduism, Lord Shiva is considered as one of the trinity gods, along with Brahma and Vishnu. He is known as the destroyer of evil, the granter of blessings, and the Lord of yoga and meditation. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva drank the deadly poison (Halahala) that emerged during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan), to save the world. This act of selflessness and bravery earned him the title of "Neelkanth," meaning the blue-throated one. On the day of Mahashivratri, devotees of Lord Shiva observe fast and offer prayers to Lord Shiva to seek his blessings and protection.
The significance of Mahashivratri can be traced back to several Hindu legends and scriptures. One of the most popular legends is the story of King Chitrabhanu. It is believed that King Chitrabhanu was a devout Hindu and observed fast on Mahashivratri. On this day, he had a divine vision of Lord Shiva and became enlightened. Hence, the festival is considered an opportunity for devotees to seek blessings and attain spiritual enlightenment.
Another popular legend is the story of the devotion of Lord Shiva's wife, Goddess Parvati. It is believed that she performed severe penance and prayers to Lord Shiva to marry him. Impressed by her devotion, Lord Shiva finally agreed to marry her on the 14th day of the dark fortnight in the Hindu month of Phalguna, which is observed as Mahashivratri.
Mahashivratri is also considered significant as it marks the wedding anniversary of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival is celebrated with great fervor and devotion in Hindu communities all over the world. Devotees offer milk, honey, flowers, and fruits to Lord Shiva and perform a night-long vigil, chanting "Om Namah Shivaya," meaning "I bow to Lord Shiva." In some parts of India, devotees also visit Lord Shiva temples and offer prayers and perform special puja rituals.
In recent times, Mahashivratri has gained immense popularity among youth and spiritual seekers as a festival of consciousness and self-discovery. The festival is seen as an opportunity to detach from material desires and focus on spiritual pursuits. Devotees engage in meditation, yoga, and other spiritual practices on this day to attain inner peace and connect with the divine.
Mahashivratri is a significant Hindu festival that celebrates the power of Lord Shiva and marks the wedding anniversary of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival is an opportunity for devotees to seek blessings, attain spiritual enlightenment, and engage in spiritual pursuits. The celebration of Mahashivratri is an expression of devotion and surrender to Lord Shiva, the destroyer of evil and granter of blessings.

"God the inner argument... Do I get a shivlingam I'll use with liquid offerings that I know will degrade or not? Because I'm so tempted to fall into the blissful worship of destruction through destruction like the erosion of the shore by the Great Ocean.... Let the sign crumble away as He wills it to... That's gonna get me hated - but then again I'm already an 'unmarried' 'woman' that's gonna be rubbing my filthy little (big) hands all over it because the boundaries of class and gender are crumbled pillars of a ruined temple here and he calls me to listen to him and him alone" well I picked the right god didn't I
