As you all know Mahashivratri is coming, I thought to share my personal favorite story of My lord shiva with all of you, I want everybody to understand that "Bhakat ki bhakti khali nahi jati" Sage Mrikandu did penance to Shiva and asked for the boon of a son. Shiva appeared and asked, "Do you want an ordinary son with an older age or an intelligent and bright son of only 16 years of age?"Mrikandu thought, “If I ask for a wise son, he will die at the age of 16, but if I ask for a son of an older age, he will not be wise. He asked for an intelligent son. Within a few days his wife gave birth to a son whom he named Markandeya. He was very handsome, intelligent, kind and full of all qualities. When Markandeya was about to turn 16, his parents told him about his death. Markandeya started saying, “I will not die. I will worship Shiva. He started worshiping Shiva every day. Came to take him from Yamraj on his solvay birthday. Markandeya told him, "Let me finish my worship." Yama got angry and threw Yama Paash at him. Shiva appeared and ordered Yama to return to Yamaloka and said, "Don't come back to earth." Yama left. Since then no one has died on earth. The population on earth increased a lot. Goddess Prithvi went to Shiva and said, “I cannot bear this much. Please send Yamraj to earth. When Shiva refused, she approached Parvati for help. When Parvati also requested Shiva, Shiva was innocent, "Yamraj had insulted my devotees." Parvati said, “But you had said that Markande would not live beyond 16 years. That's why Yamraj went to take him. Shiva became speechless. On this Parvati said, “Perhaps you mean that Markande will always be 16 years old. Yamraj would not have been able to understand this. Shiva was immediately pleased and said, "That was exactly it." A beautiful story of Mahashivratri Vrat🙏 According to legend, a Bhil hunter named Gurudruh lived with his family in the dense forest of Varanasi. One day Gurudruh went out for hunting but he did not get a single prey. After waiting for a long time, he climbed a vine tree while searching for prey in the forest. A Shivling was established under that tree. After some time a wandering deer came there. As soon as Gurudruha saw the deer, he drew his bow and arrow. But before the arrow hit the deer, the water kept near it and the belt leaves from the tree fell on the Shivling. In such a situation, the Gurudruh unknowingly worshiped the first hour of Shivratri. When the deer saw it, she told the hunter that my kids were waiting with my sister.I leave them at a safe place and come again. After some time Hirani's sister passed by and at that time also Gurudruha unknowingly worshiped Mahadev in the same way for the second time. Hirni's sister also made the same cry and promised to come back. Searching for both the deer, the deer reached there in the third hour. This time such an incident happened and the hunter unknowingly worshiped the third hour of Shivratri. The deer also promised to come after some time while crying for the children. After three hours passed, all the three deer returned to the hunter as promised. But in the meantime, while plucking the belpatra from the tree in hunger, he started putting it on the Shivling below and in this way the worship of the fourth hour was also done. All the sins of the Gurudruh were washed away by being hungry and thirsty all the time and worshiping God unknowingly. Then Lord Shiva blessed him by giving a direct darshan that in Tretayug, Shri Ram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, would visit his house and he would attain salvation. In this way, Lord Shankar granted salvation to the hunter by observing Shivratri fast unknowingly.
