Sal Fishers HC’s (Part 2!):  

A/N: Thank you so much for your request! My requests are open, so don’t feel bad, thank you for being considerate about it anyway! /gen. This also gives me flashbacks because this was the post that got my blog started and I just hit 1K likes a few days ago 😭. Also, I hope this isn’t to dark from what you wanted.

C/W: Mentions of his mother, not in detail but the absence of her, mentions of a bad relationship between Sal and his dad. (Both once at the beginning). Also insecure Sal, not anything crazy just small thoughts of insecurity.

  This is definitely a collective HC in the fandom, but he cuts his hair. Ever since he was younger, he started learning basic skills to fill in the void of his mother not being there, such as taking care of himself and eating, as his father was distant from him. He definitely was rough back then and still isn’t the best, but he has experience in freshening up his look.

With his close friends, Sal will purposely pop out his fake eye randomly to scare them. Such as saying: “Man, my eye really hurts”, taking out the fake eye and from a first glance their first reaction is a panic before remembering. Sal doesn’t do this often as it is something he is a little insecure about, but over the years he’s become more comfortable joking as he knows they won’t run away.

Halloween time is a BLAST. Sal used not to be big on holidays, as that meant having to get ready, and awkwardly hang around the family while being dead silent and feeling judged. However, after moving to the apartments, the holiday spirit started to buy into him a bit and Halloween officially became his favorite holiday. Dressing up in a fun costume including his mask, getting candy with the gang, and importantly setting up small tricks. Not anything crazy, but don't be surprised to get a fake spider or a jumpscare around the corner with him. Honestly the time of year you see him the happiest.

Speaking of Halloween, one year when Sal was younger saw a “glowing eye prosthetic” and begged his dad for it. Even though he was against it, eventually when his birthday came around, Sal got the glow-in-the-dark eye prosthetic he wanted. Now, for Halloween, for his own enjoyment, he will wear it. (Perhaps to give a fright to people, but Sal still thinks this is the coolest eye prosthetic in the world.)

Absolutely hates swimming, the beach, all of it. Not that he wants to hate it, but everything with his mask to the texture of the sand, it's just not a good combination. Especially since I feel like with his bad eyesight, his other senses are more in tune so textures are a big thing for him. He’d rather go to Lake Wendigo (which in my opinion is cooler than who said that-)  

Taps his fingers in order when he’s thinking. Such as thumb, pointer, middle, etc, and repeats back to his thumb. It keeps a good rhythm so his thoughts stay clear instead of wandering off. You know when he’s on a good train of thought when it starts slowing down, as that's right before he shares his thoughts. Versus when it speeds up, face squinted and voice deeper when Sal is trying to find an answer. 

Having people touch him is a big deal, as it requires a type of trust that they won’t overstep his boundaries (such as taking off his mask or touching an area that sensitive to him), but once you reach that level of comfortability with Sal, he’d love it if you did his hair for him. His hair can be a hassle sometimes, even with good hygiene the factor of trying to put his hair out of the way for his mask and still look good can be frustrating on bad hair days. It's a small gesture to do for him that means the world.  

Getting to the point where you are touching his hair, you are pretty darn close, so he’d do the same to you (if you were comfortable obviously!). Sal would be nervous touching you at first, as in the back of his mind there are the thoughts of making you uncomfortable but his touch is SO comforting. Sal is so gentle, which comes from petting Gizmo, and running his hands through your hair when you are focusing or just need some comfort. Honestly, you could fall asleep to just him petting you like a cat.  

Has a small selection of foods that he likes, and has stuck with those for years. He claims to not be a picky eater, but yet you’ll see him order the same thing and politely decline any other types of foods offered to him. If you could see his face, you’d be able to see the squint in his face of disgust.
